Is it any secret that Alec Baldwin is full-on rage-monster full of anger, contempt, volatility, bile and RAAAAAAGE?!? Yeah. I think the cat’s out of the bag on that one, and even though Alec pretends that his yoga-instructor fiancée helps “calm him down,” The Rage Monster still lurks. The Rage Monster waits, patiently, for any opportunity to RAGE!!! And The Rage Monster came out this morning in NYC. Alec and Hilaria Thomas were in NYC getting a wedding license. When they came out of the office, Alec basically lost his mind and started going after a photographer for the New York Daily News. It’s the truth – look at the photos here. Here’s the NYDN report:
An enraged Alec Baldwin punched a Daily News photographer in the chin Tuesday morning for snapping his picture outside the city Marriage License Bureau. The volatile “30 Rock” star popped lensman Marcus Santos once in the face outside the Worth St. office after apparently obtaining a license to wed fiancee Hilaria Thomas.
Santos was standing innocently with two other photographers when Baldwin, 54, approached with an angry glare.
“He was looking mad,” said Santos. “He said, ‘Step back, step back.’ I said, ‘We’re moving back.’”
Baldwin then grabbed a second News photographer, Jefferson Siegel, and Santos told the “Rock of Ages” star to back off.
“I said, ‘Don’t touch him,’” the 42-year-old Santos said. “I knew he was going to attack me. I stepped back, and he kept coming. “He comes after me, starts shoving and punching me — one time, right in the chin. And then he started shoving me, and pushing me. Then he goes the other way.”
Eyewitness Goran Veljic said Baldwin’s face filled with rage as he went after the shooters.
“He was like crazy, you know?” said freelancer Veljic, who takes photos outside the office every day. “There was an eruption of mad. … You’re going to get a marriage license, you should be happy. What happened with this guy?”
Baldwin, whose first marriage to Oscar-winning actress Kim Basinger ended in a contentious divorce, had seemingly found serenity with his younger yoga instructor. But his notorious nasty side surfaced on the otherwise happy occasion as Baldwin stormed away without saying a word. Thomas, 28, was not with Baldwin when the punch was thrown.
I think this is exactly what happened. Even if the NYDN didn’t have photographic evidence, I would be completely willing to believe that Alec Baldwin lost his sh-t on several photographers for literally no reason. But of course, Alec has a reason! Alec got on his Twitter account to tell his side of the story. Some of his tweets from today:
So Alec’s story is that a paparazzo “almost hit him in the face with his camera”. Thus, RAGE MONSTER ATTACK!!! Yeah. Not buying it. Also, I think the “if the offending paparazzi was wearing a hoodie and I shot him, it would all blow over” reference is in extremely poor taste. Alec Baldwin lost his s–t over a paparazzo, as he has done many, many times before. It wasn’t about race, or a slain child, or a community reeling from a devastating loss – it was about Alec being full of rage. Let’s take down the drama.

Did Kim Bassinger ever accuse him of battery or abuse? I can’t remember that far back.
I think Kim accused him of “emotional battery” but I’m not sure about the physical abuse. I wouldn’t doubt it though.

And Alec was often caught publicly screaming at his now ex-wife, way back then. There was public emotional abuse, and she had stated that there was physical behind closed doors, as well.
That was why she had desperately fought to keep him away from their daughter, Ireland.
Yeah, I remember a papparazzi shot of Alec on a sidewalk, think it was in NYC, his face purple and contorted with rage, Leaning forward and SCREAMING at Kim Basinger, who was just cowering there. And I recall reading a comment Kim made a few years ago when she and Alec were trying to be more congenial for Ireland’s sake, that he asked Kim to go and look at a house he was thinking of buying, and there was a sheer cliff behind it. In the news item (and if course I can’t confirm it, but she did say it), Kim claimed that Alec kept trying to get her to come closer and closer to the very edge of that sheer drop behind the house (the two of them were alone there), and she refused to do so out of fear that he was going to push her over the cliff and then call it an accident. It seems to me that it takes some pretty scary history for a woman to think that way about the father of her child.

Photographer-bashing Alec Baldwin found a new target Wednesday, rolling his mountain bike over a television reporter’s foot outside his East Village apartment.
The Emmy-winning “30 Rock” star then used the bike to knock the “Inside Edition” reporter aside as she asked Baldwin a question about his latest public meltdown — a fight with a Daily News photographer.
“Ouch, my back,” the 5-foot-2 woman said after her brush with the hot-headed Baldwin. “He shoved me and ran over my foot.”
I really am tempted to not care a bit. I just LOVE mr Baldwin.

Personally, I think I would have a hard time with being papped all the time, how can you not be bothered? Alec can get angry and all that, but I sympathize with him on this one issue. I would hate it, too, especially when the paps shout out to the celebs constantly to intimidate them into talking. I really think there should be a LAW banning paps from photographing at close range, and also from SPEAKING to celebs. Anyone else here think so?

Makes me LOL about some of these celebs going bonkers and wanting privacy so much yet you just know when their popularity starts to fade (which is inevitable) they will be BEGGING to have attention from the papps,the public, basicaly anybody!! Once they become a “what ever happened to…” and Alec is a actor heading towards 60, after 30 Rock and popping up in the odd movie (notice that he is never the headliner or main star though and his roles are never big..hence not the biggest star), he will fade away and be BEGGING for jobs and attention then.

My favorite story about Alec is how he was demonstrating to his daughter how upset he was about her behavior, then he went a little overboard creatively, so Ireland just called 911 on him. Then he had to explain his idiotic behavior to an unsuspected public for about a month.

Hear worse at the supermarket and the playground every week. The REAL child abuse is the person who released those tapes for the whole world to hear. Alec said those things in private. Kim huniliated her daughter in front of the entire world. I think that is so much more abusive.

I don’t like this guy at all, but I tend to side with celebrities who let paps have it. Launching a physical attack is pushing it (no pun intended), but those guys are ruthless. The way they sidle up to a person and start talking to them in that glib way as if they know them personally and are owned something is slimy.
Totally, in particular I have a problem with the ones who stalk celebs with young children and like a pack of pervs hang outside schools, parks, playgrounds, calling out to the children as if they know them. Now that my friends is freaky, creepy and absolutely out of line.

A lot of people made a lot of very good points about him on here. As for the excuse-making about paparazzi having it coming, etc., it doesn’t wash, in his case — consider his attitude, behavior, etc. in other circumstances. His family, the “friends” he and others are always quoting, and others just “enable” him. I know him to be a bully and a creep, I’m not well impressed by Ridicula, and the two of them deserve each other. How nice it would be if both of them, and the whole Baldwin clan, would just disappear.
