New Duchess Kate photos! I’ve missed her, I really have. Prince William and Duchess Kate managed to disappear for nearly a full month after their spectacular and epic Asian Tour (which lasted eight days). By all accounts, Kate and William both performed very well during the tour, and the only real problem was that the tour was overshadowed by the Duchess Crumpet-gate situation, with European publications rushing to print photo after photo of Will and Kate’s boob-and-butt-tastic French vacation, a vacation they took right before they left for their Asian tour (a vacation that took place when they could have been attending the Para-Olympics). You know what I wonder? I wonder where they’ve been for the past month. I wonder if they didn’t manage to get away yet again on another soothing vacation.
Anyway, as for the photos – they’re from yesterday, Will and Kate’s first public appearance in England since the Boob-gate situation. They visited the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, which seems like some kind of law school…? Kate’s suit (?) is by Paule Ka, a French designer (!). What are we calling this color? Cranberry? Burgundy? Wine? Maroon? Something like that. Paule Ka evidently calls it burgundy. I will accept that. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the design, but I always enjoy seeing Kate in a jewel tone. This feels especially Christmas-y to me! Right? It seems like something a woman would wear to her holiday office party. Oh, and she wore black tights/hose. I’m calling them tights, not hose. It’s a very wintery outfit.
Us Weekly says that they launched a scholarship program for the school, and one witness says, “The Duchess seemed keen to take in as much as possible about the legal profession as she chatted to scholarship recipients at Middle Temple.” As for Boob-gate, Kate is apparently still upset that everyone has now seen her bits and pieces (her crumpets, if you will, or her commoner biscuit), but that Kate is “determined to get on with things and forget about it.” Finally, some common sense. I think Will and Kate went too hard, too fast with the PR of the situation. Just my opinion.
As for the Duchess Bump Watch… she just likes to put her hand on her stomach. Maybe it’s conscious, maybe she doesn’t even know she’s doing it. But in the next few months, everybody is going to be on BUMP WATCH: HIGH ALERT. If she doesn’t get pregnant soon, there will actually be a backlash against Kate. And Her Majesty will not be amused by Kate’s womb.

I think she’s wearing tights cause the skirt is pretty short, it would be a bit flashy with skin coloured stockings. I like the colour on her too.
It’s a good color on her. The tights and dark shoes make a nice change. I’m kind of sick of those nude pumps. On another note, why is she protecting her tummy with her left hand?

The first thing I noticed about these was that ‘Kate looks like she just threw up’…(I’m nauseous all the time IRL)…and then I saw the strategically-covered pooch and the unconscious hand over belly posture. All the clues are there!
I hope for her & Wills’ sake, they don’t have trouble conceiving…The pressure only makes it harder.
She holds her hands that way. She does it with her purses too. I think they told her to do that in princess training because she’s been holding her hands that since the wedding.
@LAK: Remember the day before the wedding when she and her family checked into the hotel? There were pics of her awkwardly holding her left hand over her belly in the exact same way as she’s doing above. I always figured she just does that to show off that awful engagement ring, though. So I doubt she’s knocked up, it’s just habit for her to contort herself that way by now. And I love her jacket but hate everything from the waist down.
That baby must be ‘overripe’ by now if she’s truly pregnant because she’s been doing that gesture for almost 18 months now. It’s called posing.
Yet Kate hasn’t shown anything from that “hand over belly” act except Diana’s ring.
@CG – That ring of doom……urgh. i don’t think i was as aware of the hand gesture prior to the wedding. If i did, i filed it under ‘things engaged ladies showing off ring’
Outfit was good colour. i wish she would wear jewel tones more. She’s got the coloring to look very good in them.
She could be pregnant but the hand over the stomach thing is hardly a clue. She has always done that – and probably will until she’s a ninety year old granny.

Those are definitely tights. Replace that blazer with a low cut, figure hugging black shirt, and I’d be all over that outfit myself. In winter, I mean, but maybe there’s already a winter chill in London? I live in the land of permanent summer, so I forget how much I miss winter fashions sometimes.
It has been really cold in London. A few of my friends from tour went home and it is already winters feeling.
I am also too lazy to do my settings on my weather app so I follow about ten cities I’ve lived in.

The color is all over the place this season – and in my wardrobe – so not a christmas color to me.
I think the flare of the skirt is weird, but otherwise I like it. I’m just glad she’s not wearing those god awful wedges again.
William’s been in the news for a couple of sea rescues the last few weeks, so I think he’s actually been on duty. Apparently according to what kate wore, they have a bunch of events this week and Kate is going solo on Wednesday. William is going to his late nannies funeral which just makes me sad for him.

I think we’ll be waiting for an heir for a while. Women at either extreme end of the weight spectrum can have trouble conceiving and I think Kate might be too thin (for her body) to conceive easily. Or she could just be really thin but have no problems. I think we’ll be waiting.
Peplum covers baby belly. What was lost in all the nude pic scandal was that the first two days of that tour, Kate was drinking water, not wine. Big clue! Also this is the “it” color for fall.
I love the whole outfit although the skirt might be a smidge young for her. Still, anything that replaces those $&$%#£€ LK Bennett nude heels is something I’ll support.
She had two pina coladas upon her arrival. Wills was also drinking water. That was covered in the news. They were taking malaria pills.
As for Waity’s suit… Meh. She bores me.
Skirt too short. Hair too long. Tight too dark. And Kaiser, it’s been announced they are off to Mystique for another vacation. Life is so hard for them.

I don’t think her hair is too long, but the color, amount of doll hair and the sausage curls need to go. It is really awful and she needs to put it up more.

I love the color of the ensemble and the silhouette is pretty good, other than I think it should have been a tiny bit longer. These are supposed to be serious, working visits.
I don’t think she should cut her hair. It’s her thing. But I do think she really would look more adult, more professional, if she wore it straight and pulled from her face.
Gorgeous! I love the color and the way she put it all together. Plus I am seriously loving peplum lately. The hand over her crotch area might be an unconscious gesture resulting from the strain of her first public appearance since the revealing photos. That would explain the two pina coladas as well.

That woman is a former colleague of mine and she’s always had impeccable style. Also she’s really tall and thin. Seeing her standing next to Kate makes me realise how skinny Kate must be.
The outfit is nice. It’s good to see her in something different. I like the color. The skirt could be a tad longer but the whole outfit works otherwise.

You would think that after the disaster of the crumpet gate photos and all the news stating that our Waity is a major exhibitionist, she would not wear her skirts above the knee like this. She is always showing off some part of her body. This time it is her legs. And as for the way she is holding her left hand, that is because she constantly show off Diana’s ring. Her overly thick hair with the obvious extensions with the omnipresent sausage curls is just plain obnoxious.
Sometimes she gives off a try hard/cutesy/porcelain doll vibe then other times I get a sex kitten/not quite classy feel from her. It’s really odd.

She seems to be getting some advice on grooming and dressing. She looks much better than she did when they first married. Her outfits and her hair and makeup are more polished, more suitable for a “royal.”
Paule Ka is an amazing designer. Lovely classic clothes that look good on most sizes & shapes & fairly reasonably priced for a French designer. Take a look.

Wow. That Duchess/Diva thing is an incredibly cruel website. I have never come across it before. How can so many people “hate” someone they don’t even know? Why would anyone want to wallow around in all that negativity anyway? Poor Kate. I hope she doesn’t read that stuff. At least the comments on Celebitchy are rather balanced and therefore much more interesting.
Holy moly that site is hilarious… not in a good way. Not to throw stones in a glass house — we’re here on a celeb site, after all — but there just seems something massively wrong and unbalanced in someone’s psychology when they pour that much energy and bile into bashing ONE single person whom they’ll never even meet. I mean, celebrity gossip is one thing, and people can have strong opinions one way or the other – but when it veers into the territory of this single-minded hate-obsession, it just screams massive psychological issues. I am exhausted just glancing at the site you linked and thinking how much effort goes into all that hatred! Wow!

Her hair is a lovely color, shiny and in good condition.
HOWEVER.
This is my anal retentive freak-side coming out, but when she wears the big, bouncy curls, her hair never looks even. One side is always longer than the other. It drives me nuts.
That’s definitely my personal pet peeve. I like straighter, more even hair.

The length of the jacket/blazer is odd, it doesn’t sit well on her long torso and the sleeves are too short. The skirt, while a nice style, is also short. Posture is still bad.
I don’t know about her, but can’t she have someone brush/polish off her shoes? Lots of streaks on her shoes in those photos. Her shoes would look better if they appear neat. Suede shoes, which her shoes look to be made of, need some care since they easily show signs of wear, lint, dust, water spots, etc.
Think the color and cut of suit is great – like the dark tights and shoes. I’m just over her hair – know it’s her trademark but it needs to GO.
If you look at a full-length pic of her, she looks like a teenager, not future queen.
She should have dressed VERY modestly after showing her bum to the world. Mini-skirt, stilettos, black lace camisole…very trashy. She should let Sophie dress her.

Duchess Kate is on a working visit in a cool season of the year so I think what she is wearing is totally appropriate, and smart. I personally don’t like short jackets in a heavy material but it shows off the skirt’s pattern. I’d call the colour more wine or maroon than burgundy, at least, in the photos. I hope William and Kate enjoy a few more years as a married royal couple before having kids. It is really irritating to have the mass media speculating about it. What for?
