As we discussed yesterday, LeAnn Rimes sat down for her first television interview since she entered rehab or some kind of mental health/spa facility shortly after her 30th birthday in September. LeAnn made a really big deal about how she was going for a month-long treatment or something, but she was “out” within a few weeks, and I guess she’s claiming that she’s “cured” now. Except that she keeps on tweeting and she’s still ensconced in her own perpetual victimhood and she can’t really see anything beyond her own narcissism. So, as you can imagine, I’m sure this television interview will be a doozy. LeAnn sat down with Katie Couric, and the interview isn’t going to air until Friday. But Couric did put up this preview and… just watch it:
I guess we can give LeAnn credit for crying on cue? Is that what she’s really doing, though? I don’t think she’s “acting”. I think her emotions, her own sense of her own victimhood and her own untouchable sadness are always front and center, and she can just cry at the drop of a hat whenever anyone is like, “Oh, you poor thing.” Still, I guess it’s notable that she managed to dodge the actual question of “Why did you seek treatment?” And I guess Couric didn’t actually check up on the whole “30 days” thing. Because LeAnn did NOT spend 30 days in whatever facility/spa, as she seems to be claiming.

I’m tired of hearing her derided, she is a wonderful singer and I can count at least 10 guys here in IL who would love to meet her and love her singing…So stop!
I’m sorry, but she is a wonderful singer with an amazing voice. I think it’s time to stop derailing her for her personal life and the struggles that she is going through because clearly she is someone who is struggling. I cannot laugh or make fun of someone who is in pain and crying legitimate tears. She has really done a number on herself. I for one used to think she was quite naturally attractive. She is still an attractive person who I believe has a good <3 at the end of the day, but it's incredibly sad to see what she has done to her face and body at such a young age. We have to start standing up for women – all women! We have to ask why women feel the need to go under the knife in an attempt to solve other issues that are going on or deal with societal pressures to maintain an impossible youth. Just think about Melanie Griffith (who was posted about earlier) – it's time to show some compassion for someone who may seem like an "attention whore" but really I think that all this is, is a SERIOUS cry for help. Very sad.

@Elizabeth Rose–“Legitmate tears”???? She has in the past stated that she can turn on the tears whenever she wants to get whatever she wants. She is a much better actress than a singer. Proof? She is always portraying herself as happy, happy, happy, but her life is falling apart. When it benefits her, she brings on the crying and “Woe is me!” Sh manipulates the media and people to no end!

That’s a question I’ve asked myself for a long time. If you’re not going to say anything, then leave us alone.
That said, I don’t give a damn about Ms. Rimes and her manufactured drama. I am just shocked that people still talk about her.

Well, she’s still spending her days blocking people on twitter. Even people that have never @ her. What normal person does that? Especially a celeb who’s in the middle of a lawsuit, is meant to be on tour and promoting a new album.
Tons of other bigger celebrities get crap tweeted to them all the time. But they don’t care because either they have an assistant running their account, because they have busy successful careers, or, they have lives otherwise, and friends. They don’t use twitter as their friend, their therapy, their passive aggressive tool. Leann needs hobbies. She needs something to do other than finding friends on twitter, obsessing over Eddie, scouring WebMD for illnesses and creating all her own personal drama. I would say she should start volunteering or something, but I don’t want her to inflict herself on people who have enough problems.

I have a tendency to think that a lot of child stars are emotionally stunted. Since they grow up in the industry and don’t live out normal childhoods and develop meaningful relationships with others their same age.
Leanne’s mental state is probably at the same level that it was when she first entered the industry, 15 or 16? That’s how she acts and her inability to understand why there was a public backlash forwards her actions, not to mention the fact she has been drawing this affair through the mud for years now.
When the whole twitter war started, that spoke volumes about her emotional maturity, most of us know when to let a loosing battle go. She never developed any coping mechanisms because she never progressed into being an adult.

A mature human being, no matter how much he or she is “hurting,” realizes that being in “pain” is not ever a reason to inflict pain onto others. Quite the contrary. A mature human being does not ever want another person to hurt as much as he or she does and in fact will go to great lengths to avoid passing along that hurt. I would really love for her to just throw up her hands and admit that she has no control over anyone’s behavior but her own and GROW UP. I’m not saying that to be mean. She is nowhere near 30 in emotional years. And she will never get better until she deals with her “pain” in a more productive way.

Saw it. Could practically imagine her snapping her fingers at the girl. It’s things like that, that are so typical narcissistic. Leann’s got a script, the way she wants things to be seen, and the truth should only come from her. Someone says something about her that deviates from what she’s putting forth (calm/relaxed!), and she snaps at them. She does this to her fans all the time! I don’t know why they put up with it. A normal person would have been like, “hey, it was okay. thanks for your concern”, but no, Leann gets nasty with them.
If that was what she considers calm no wonder she’s a delusional wackjob. She has zero self awareness.
Kinda like when she was on the Ellen show, and talked that up so hard, how wonderful it was, how welcoming the audience was, blah and blah. Then the show airs, and she gets stone cold silence from the audience, no one laughs, you could just tell they hated her. I still feel sorry for her on some level. Something like this shouldn’t be battled with publicly. i have a few questions:
1) WHY does her face look like that? seriously, what is that?
2) WHY is she giving this interview?
3) WHY is Katie Couric interviewing HER? She is not even relevant and does not actually DO anything
And the saddest thing about all of this is that she wouldn’t be in the public eye if she didn’t insert herself in it every day. And I do believe it is the public eye, and her inability to deal with the chatter etc. that is making her unhappy.

She had several lawyers lined up to take this pro-bono, but once they realized Leann and her lawyer will draw this out as long as possbile they backed out because they can’t put that many hours in over that amount of time without payment. Leann’s lawyer hasn’t even spoken to her since he filed the suit-they are in no hurry.
Kim retained a lawyer, and he’s very good, but she is struggling with funds. Anything helps!

Hopefully Leann’s lawyer is being quiet because he is hoping Leann will want to either drop it or settle. Have they given Smiley an option to settle yet? I would hate to think a singer would want a mom of 6 to sell her house just so leann could forward that stolen money to a charity of her choice that will undoubtedly not want the publicity that comes with that dirty lawsuit.

In 2010, the platform was that she was too depressed about her divorce to get out of bed. In 2011, she tod GAC that she didn’t have the tools to know it was wrong to cheat with a married man. I’m not sure, but my guess would be the meltdown Leann’s been having about her absentee husband and her unstable mental state. Probably doesn’t give Brandi the warm and fuzzies knowing her kids are over there in a volatile home.
It’s most likely due to the “Brandi is vindictive as sh*t” remark that LeAnn actually denied to Brandi ever took place. Brandi got to hear first hand, how hateful and spiteful LeAnn was in that recorded conversation that LeAnn said never happened.

(your comments alot better than mine lol) Of course, it takes a while to see when soeone has one and before then, its easy to mistake the persons actions for what they are at the core. The more people do that, the less likely she is to recognize the issue herself….
(Continued) I believe the pain from living with her disorder is real: Not being able to experience fulfilling relationships, no genuine satisfaction from daily life, not being able to maintain friendships or meet work commitments, not possessing the mental reference points or baseline for critical self analysis and self awareness.
I don’t mean to undermine anything you’ve said and I agree. Also I’d bet that good hard work could cure a lot of that. Her biggest problem is she is entirely aimless. She needs goals and to work for something. Same for Demi Moore. They oughta team up and start a charity or something.

If LeAnn was a healthy, normal human being, I would suggest she regain her image this way: If Eddie is indeed cheating on her, dump him. Then, publicly apologize to Brandi for doing the same as what is now being done to her. Say that you were blinded by love & made horrible mistakes by sleeping with her husband and apologize for taunting Brandi with the photo ops with Eddie & her children once they were together. Say that as a woman, I am ashamed of my behavior & from this point on, will truly try to be a better human being. Say you realize how self involved you were & that you now plan on working with habitat for humanity for 6 months (and actually go and do it with NO PHOTO OPS).
I think if she did a grandiose gesture like that, it would be the ONLY way for her to win back fans. Dumping Eddie & admitting the mistake MAY get some respect back from women that she previously lost.

Totally and completely agree, but LeAnn doesn’t have that kind of insight or humanity. Her ugly, cruel behavior after “winning” Eddie was beyond the pale. Whatever she has happen to her is richly deserved and I don’t mean Couric interviews. How this woman endlessly manipulates people to see her as the victim is beyond me- her lies being shown as such, her vicious tweets toward Brandi, her irresponsible behavior toward the boys, her over the top PDA in front of two little boys whose family just broke up due to her, said behavior in front of the boys’ friends and teammates, her endless attempts to push Brandi out of her own sons’ lives simply because she’s inconvenient to LeAnn’s view of herself as the parent….. How does this woman have anybody left at all? How is she not seen as a vicious, dangerous, manipulative psycho to everyone? Eddie is worthless and vile, but she is the dangerous one.

Comparing a mental health facility or professional therapy to a “spa” is insulting to anyone who works in the field, or has received professional therapy on an inpatient basis.
There are many excellent residential programs in the US for people who are having problems dealing with anxiety. The therapy provided in such a facility would be by board certified professionals who likely are either doctors or therapists who have PHDs. Most of the residential facilities are voluntary and someone can leave at any time. It is not rehab, people are not on lock down.
I’m not sure what is so difficult to understand in this situation. LeAnn went to a facility to receive specialized therapy for anxiety. She left the facility to honour her work commitments, but returned afterward. Most facilities customize programs so LeAnn would have received extra therapy on the days she had no work commitments. It is inaccurate to say that because she didn’t stay a set period of days that she didn’t complete her therapy.
Even taking away marital conflicts or issues with bullying, LeAnn was a child star who spent all of her time on the road. She likely never had a chance to be a kid. Like any former child star, she now has issues, however to her credit she has never dealt with those issues using alcohol or drugs.
Sorry- but noone is comparing a mental health facility to a spa. LR CLAIMED she went to therapy–no pics of her doing so (where are all the paps who follow her every move?). And from her actions since her leaving her “therapy”, IF she had any, it didn’t work! She always lies and I sincerely doubt there was any mental health stay–that’s why people figure it was just a spa stay!
I double on that. My mother-in-law works with disabled persons (of all kinds) and its extremely hard work.

She didnt just leave for a few shows, she also gave numerous phone interviews with multiple tabs and magazines. she literally did more press for this ‘rehab’ stay than she ever has anything else. Not sure how she got any treatment in between all her interviews. I also never heard of any type of ‘rehab’ facility that would allow such things, even more so in her case considering she claims her anxiety is brought on by the media. what kind of therapist would recommend non-stop interviews for the very thing you’re supposed to be treated for. this whole ‘spa stay’ was nothing more than a PR tour and a ploy for her bogus lawsuit.

She is pictured quite often with a drink in her hand and we don’t know if she has used drugs or not. Of course that is not something she would tweet about–though Lord knows she has tweeted about almost everything else.

Leann was not in rehab. She tweeted and sent pictures of her twitpics to major tabloids almost every day, in “rehab,” she left “rehab” several times, not just for concerts, and checked out several days early and went on a shopping spree. Also judging from Leann’s erratic behavior, frequent impromptu concert cancellations, extreme weight loss, hair loss, and several pictures with alcohol in her hands many of us are probably correct that Leann has an alcohol and/or drug problem. Not to mention her extreme narcissism which almost assures that she will never admit there is anything wrong and certainly not change her behavior, which has torn apart the lives of two young children, whom she now exploits for her own fame and fortune. She is also financially ruining a special needs teacher with several children, out of spite for a situation she got herself into.
Your support for her shows what a thoughtless person you are. If you cared about children or poor child star Leann, you would urge her to go to a real in-patient treatment center and stay for months to work on her deep sociopathic narcissism. You would also urge her to stop publishing photos and personal information of Eddie’s boys on her twitter, her paid fan site and every major tabloid in the US and Britain.

I think Ed pulled the plug when her birthday was over. I think she probably begged and pleaded for him to keep up appearances for a set amount of time. I think he agreed to make the statement he made about the “rehab” and did the appearance at the Batman Live show and that’s it. He was in Colorado over the weekend without her, was not present during the interview, I think the writing is all over the wall.

Usually I can feel empathy for almost anyone and seeing someone cry and talk about their personal pain would move me. In the case of LeAnn Rimes, I feel like I’m just watching a person who hasn’t been able to elicit sympathy from the public through other methods and is now desperately trying a last ditch attempt to do so. I feel like I’m being fed another bunch of lies and that when she cries, it’s more because she has always gotten her way and now isn’t and it is making her so frustrated that she can’t cope and is crying out of frustration, rather than sadness. Her desire to paint herself as a victim is pathetic.
The thing that annoys me the most about this narcissistic hedonist is that I feel badly for her with her issues, but her whiny antics make me not care.
