Lady Gaga: ‘Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it?’

Here are some late Halloween photos from Lady Gaga. She went as… (her words)… “Princess High the Cannabis Queen”. She filled her Twitter, her Little Monsters site and her Facebook with messages like “HAPPY HIGHLAWEEN!!” and “So i was weed for halloween. BEST COSTUME EVER ITS SO FUN.” I mean… sure. I kind of think every day is Halloween for Gaga, so when the actual Halloween rolls around, it’s kind of a non-event. I will say this… she looks super-baked in these photos. Which is fine, I guess.

Not fine? Gaga’s new interview with Stylist Magazine. You can read the full thing here – I only skimmed it because she was pissing me off so much. Here are the most rage-y parts:

On whether feminism and makeup go together: “You know what’s so funny is, I actually think there’s a new feminism that is completely different and I don’t think either is better or worse. Any kind of feminist has valid views for herself about what it means to be a feminist, but, as a new-age feminist, I would say I quite like the transference of strength I feel by submitting to a man – being under him. I actually wrote a song about it on my album, it’s called GUY and it stands for Go Under You. So wearing make-up, smelling delicious and having suckable, kissable, edible things between your limbs is something I find strengthening because I know that when I pick the right guy, I can let him have it. Some women feel oppressed by make-up and clothing, and here’s to them, they have every right to feel that way as well.”

Art through commercialism: “If I wasn’t working on my record, I might say, “Yeah, f*ck off, I don’t want to talk about make-up”, but when I’m working on music, I need every palette and paint at my disposal, so I like to talk about everything all the time. The way that I approach doing a fragrance is sort of like Pop Art. It’s about the commercialism of bottling fame. Everything about this fragrance reeks of a high-school artistic statement about how fame is horrible and ugly – but it smells delicious. There’s something quite juvenile about the whole thing. But to make a point of it, I’m saying anybody can have Fame – it’s £24.50! That’s the art of it.”

Girl-on-girl hate: “I think women are just, for no reason, wretched to each other all the time, and I don’t think they use clothes or men or perfume or make-up or anything more than they use anything else. We should all make an effort to be nice to one another all the time.”

On Adele, weight and “Body Revolution”: I’ve realised I don’t have to do very much anymore but make music, because my fans do it all for me. They carry the message so far. Ever since they saw how much Born This Way could affect people, they wanted to do more and have that sort of space of kindness and compassion. I was acutely aware of some photos on the internet – my mum called me and was like, “Did you gain weight?” – everybody was telling me about it, and I didn’t really care. But when I heard it was on the news, where they talk about wars, the economy crashing and the election – I just thought, ‘This is f*cking ridiculous.’ I mean, what kind of example is that to a young girl sitting at home? I thought, well I don’t really care if they think I’m fat, because, quite honestly, I did gain about 30 pounds. Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it? She’s so wonderful and I think her confidence is something I have to match. She has set the bar very high for a lot of women. I need to be a confident woman and just say politically active things when I can that are helpful to young people.”

[From Stylist UK]

What. The. F—k?!? Why in the world did she drop that “Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it?” line in there? It’s like that Cheryl Cole post that very few of read the other day – the message from certain celebrities is NOT “Bullying in all its forms is awful, you should never pick on anyone for their size” – the messaging from these self-absorbed, self-pitying narcissists is “Why am I being picked on? There are other stars who weigh more than me, go and pick on them!” Their complaint is that they don’t personally deserve to be bullied because there are “worthier” targets out there, like Adele. So much for a “Body Revolution”. I mean, we always knew it was total bullsh-t anyway, at least from Gaga’s narrow perspective.

This just shows that she is nothing but a gimmick. I feel sorry for her fans that believe anything that she vomits out of her piehole.

    • flourpot says:

      +1
I’m just gonna leave my agree number right here because, damn, that woman is full of crap.

    • Leila says:

Did you guys know that her tour is selling so poorly in south america that they’re actually offering tickets for half off and buy one get one for free…and since madonna is playing in arenas now, live nation has already set up her stage structure in mexico for her 24th november show, and they forced gaga to build her castle under Madonna’s MDNA structure for her only show in Mexico that was a complete commercial failure.so that live nation could save some money.paws up little monsters!

      • Gm says:

A lot of arenas in europe were half empty too. They’re still listed as sold out due to the second hand ticket market but no one wanted to go through all that trouble to get a hold on a ticket.

She’s not as popular as people make her out to be.

      • NadineK says:

Ouch hahaha, buy one get one for free :D!? which means only half of the audience have actually paid for their tickets!tragic

      • Venshard says:

That’s just untrue. Her tour is sold out and all you have to do is search for one of the BTWB concert videos on youtube and you will see that the arena/stadium is completely full.
Particularly in London when she sold out two nights in a row to two different audiences over 50,000.
I don’t know why you invest so much time in trying to down an artist who has a general positive message.

    • FatherMonster says:

Gaga, you made your career about your image, and how sexual it is. You chose expose that, when you were thin, not only you were exposing your ‘music’, also your body as ‘ your art’.
One of the things that more annoys me of this woman (???) is that she keeps changes the speech for be convenient, makes other people feel sympathy… It’s so obvious as disgusting.

    • Shaz says:

because Adele’s fame is based on actual talent, and she’s beautiful and funny and earthy. If she were mostly gimmicky, then people would comment on her weight

    • KB says:

      She’s pathetic.

  2. Jayna says:

Madonna was interviewed in 1991 or so about her brand of feminism and that feminists were attacking her and Madonna explained why she viewed herself a feminist even in her sexuality and exhibitionism. So nothing new, Gaga.

    Regarding Adele:

Re-edit. Oops read the post wrong. Adele isn’t talked about regarding her weight because she’s not out there in a thong with her ass hanging out like yours, which was noticeably flabby, and the sides falling down showing rolls of fat above that. No one really mentioned your weight gain until those photos. Why are your surprised and now playing the victim.

    • Annie says:

Ugh, I agree, any saggy flab hanging out to me is just…I don’t know…just seems like a lack of self awareness or something. She hadn’t gained any significant weight more just let herself become untoned, and if she hadn’t been parading her flab about in a thong nobody would have said a word. Adele is an entirely different kettle of fish since her act is so much less visually based.

  3. Victoria says:

Because Adele relies on her talent alone you stupid famewhore! She doesn’t dress like a moron everyday and make comments about her “art”. She makes music and lies low. I hate lady gaga and I hate that’s she’s from ny also. Ugh. Do another line of coke and shut the hell up gaga.

    • Beatrice Sparkplug says:

Yeah, that basically sums it up.

    • aims says:

Bingo! The difference between the two is talent. Adele also keeps it real.

    • Gm says:

True. That crack pipe is so far up Gaga’s mouth it’s really messing with her brain.

      She needs help.

    • Roxy says:

This chick is a traveling circus act, no more. Adele is class, all the way. She cannot stand it, she’s very envious of Adele and the way she’s handled herself. Not saying sh** everytime she opens her mouth. You rarely hear anything from Adele, except perfectly wonderful music. Be jealous Gaga. Go on and hang out with Elton, he completes you. w/e…Adele is sublime. Gaga’s not green for pot, she’s pea-green with envy. Zero class. End of story.

    • Kate says:

      Exactly. End of discussion.

    • SusieQ2 says:

The fact she hangs around with the Cracken says an awful lot too….

    • Mazunte says:

Word! This woman is a pathetic joke. Looking at photos of her is depressing. How can she even dare to compare herself to Adele?

    • darth says:

You needn’t feel bad, because she’s not actually even from NY. Cyndi Lauper accidentally (or intentionally, I’m not sure) outed her on the Wendy Williams show as being a “Jersey girl”.
This explains why in all of her pre-GaGa/fame pictures she always looked like any other generic Guidette from Jersey. She and her parents probably only relocated to NY once she started attending that privileged private school with Paris Hilton.
This bitch is a fraud in every conceivable way.

  4. Sue says:

Wow, some people will say anything for attention……. kinda sad…..

  5. Lucy says:

Someone please issue her a sit down and a slap thanks

  6. dcypher1 says:

Thats what I was for halloween. Bitch stole the idea from me. But I just called myself maryjane and I didnt ware pasties.

    • Annie says:

      LOL.

    • deehunny says:

of course, I had to see if anyone else was going to call out the pasties.

I had to look at the pictures twice to see that she did in fact leave the hotel/party room wearing that without a jacket. Appears so.

  7. Bluedog says:

So, “I think women are just, for no reason, wretched to each other all the time,” yet she STILL says, “Adele is bigger than me.” HYPOCRITE.

And, that stuff about how screwing is so feminist is disgusting. Ok, little woman.

    • Kimbob says:

Yeah, you really pointed out her farcical statements….how they DIRECTLY CONTRADICTED each other. Maybe in her warped mind, since she said two contradicting statements…that makes them a positive??!! LOL…just playin’ around there for a sec.

I can say for sure, without a DOUBT, that we’re all now “onto Gaga” and her driveling BS.

Honestly, I haven’t seen/heard such a dumb idiot as Gaga….ever. I really can’t stop laughing because she really gave herself away in that interview. It’s like she took out a gun and shot both of her own feet….WHAT a dumbass. I LOVE it!

  8. Amelia says:

Well, y’see Gaga, Adele has this little thing called ‘talent’. By the bucket load.
Now go sit in the corner and think about what you said.
    And preferably don’t come back.

    • bigorexia says:

I hate Lady Gaga too, but you can’t say she is talentless. She has a great singing voice and can dance. Yes, she is incredibly pretentious, her music is meaningless and her outfits are boring. But she is not talentless.

      • Amelia says:

I guess this is a YMMV thing, then. As a general rule of thumb, I usually think that singers and performers who have to hide behind gimmicks and huge stage shows don’t have the talent to stand there, with a mic, a spotlight and an audience.
I saw Adele at the RAH a while ago and it was incredible. So simple yet so effective.
But, I guess it’s horses for courses etc. With certain genres I suppose there’s a necessity for huge shows. Back in Britney’s hayday it would’ve been quite strange to see her static, in front of a mic singing huge pop hits.

      • Adrien says:

I’m not sure about the “can dance” part.

      • Gm says:

        She can’t dance.

Lol. Have you been smoking the bad shit that Gaga’s been smoking?

She’s NOT a dancer, she never was and never will be.

      • RN says:

I can say that she’s talentless. I posted recently about finally hearing one of her songs and being surprised by her thin, reedy voice. It was painful for me to listen to it and I had to change the station.

If it weren’t for this site, I would never know thing one about Lady Gaga, and that’s the way I’d like to keep it. It’s always just a matter of time before these talentless people flame out. Sadly, though, she’ll be replaced by someone equally as talent-free.

      • Happy21 says:

She definitely can sing but she cannot dance. She is a very weak dancer…lol, but I’m sure she’s still better than me! 😉

      • Annie says:

I wouldn’t call her talentless, more an incredibly mediocre talent who loves to blow her own horn and act like she’s some genius when she’s not. Yes, she can sing pretty good, write simple soul-less pop, play the piano a bit, dance a bit…but she can’t do any of these things in any special, unique, memorable or emotionally touching way.

Her stage presence if you strip away all her outrageous costumes is also very weak if you ask me.

  9. LeeLee says:

    She needs a boob job.

    • adalia says:

I’m going to be that person and suggest there’s a reason she’s lifting her arms in every photo, and it’s not because she’s highhhh…

    • Lilalis says:

Gaga needs a lot of things, like an extended break from the spotlight for example, but her boobs look fine to me. It is easy to forget with all those bolt-ons out there, but this is what normal boobs look like without plastic surgery.

    • the original bellaluna says:

As one of the natural boob-proficient minority, the only women who NEED (and that’s only if they so choose!) a boob job are those who’ve endured breast cancer.

      And God love you, Ladies.

    • heyheyhey says:

Nah, there’s nothing normal about Gag’s boobs.. here they don’t look so bad but I’ve seen other pictures and video where they look like straight up flapjacks I’ve never seen such flatttttt boobs on a celebrity or anyone. I agree with LeeLee 🙂

    • teehee says:

Women dont need boob jobs, -just most of the population needs a brain job now to erase the damage that this trend has done to warp our minds image of what is normal or beautiful or not– no way in hell is a bolt on with a mile wide gap in between, more beautiful than a natural breast!

  10. Ang says:

But Adele is hugely fat and is not as amazing as people say..so who cares? It is not okay to be as fat as she is.

    • Jayna says:

Adele never did what Gaga did, wear a thong with the sides rolled down with flab hanging out and saggy rear hanging out. No one mentioned Gaga’s weight gain (which didn’t happen overnight) once until that photo of her way too small and way too revealing outfit for her weightgain.

    • mae says:

Why isn’t it “okay” to be “as fat as” Adele is? What earthly difference does her size make to you or to anyone else who may or may not listen to her music?

    • Tapioca says:

“Hugely fat”, really? Adele IS fat, but she’s lost weight in the last couple of years and regained her jawbone, so she’s hardly Mama June!

Plus – love her or hate her – she is successful on talent alone. It’s the Rihannas, Katys & Shakiras of this world who need the hard bodies because their music isn’t good enough to stand up on its own, so they have to sell their audience sex as well.

Oddly Lady Gaga does have the talent to be the former kind of artist, but chooses gimmicks and controversy because she’s a fame whore!

    • Izzy4ya says:

Adele is fat and awesome and it IS ok to be as fat as she is, reardless of what you think about it. Go wallow in your self loathing somewhere else.

Lady blah blah has shown her true colors. No surprise here.

    • Mizthunderthighz says:

It’s ‘not right’ to be ‘hugely fat’ like Adele? Well, who died and made you queen of all things weighty? Adele is one of the most talented stars of this century and nothing you say is gonna change that. Or the act that she probably makes more money in a day than you make Ina year. So yeah, go curl up in that corner and comfort yourself with your skinniness…. Weight does not define a person!

    • MizThunderthighs says:

  11. TheOriginalKitten says:

Why is this assh*le associating herself with my delicious weed?

She reminds me of a lot of the kids I went to college with-not very artisticly talented, but very skilled in the high art of bullshitting. Amazing how much you can get away with when you’re a good bullshitter.

Yeah, Gaga, your budget fragrance is just like “pop art”. Hell, you’re the new Warhol….Yeah you keep telling yourself that…

    • The Original Tiffany says:

Right? Do not sully the image of the delicious weed like this!
It deserves better than Gaga as its poster girl. Like me and Kitten for example. Humph!

      • the original bellaluna says:

Speaking of, how was it? 😉

      • The Original Tiffany says:

Am compiling list of strain comparisons. Let’s put it this way…CA RULES!

        😉

        Am enjoying lemony deliciousness now

      • the original bellaluna says:

OTiff – We try! Lemon IS delicious, is it not? Nothing like a little citrus blast to heighten one’s day! 😉 –

      • The Original Tiffany says:

Yes, ah nice and relaxed here for a bit. 🙂

Also Gaga shows herself to be as desperate as the likes of Paris Hilton doing slutoween.

And here we have heard nothing from The Cracken…is that because she is stuck in NYC? Surprised we didn’t get cracked out pics from her if not some other crime. Karma for tweeting about Sandy?

      • Mimi says:

Ha! Love it, you go ladies. Rocking the Dream Queen straight outta my garden over here. 🙂

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

I brought my big bud plant inside last night. I have no idea what to do about her…The leaves have turned purple which I guess is ok but I’m worried about Phosphorous deficiency. Also, the tops of her are really dry. I gave her some vitamins so hopefully she’ll be good for harvesting in another week or two.

      • the original bellaluna says:

OKitt – Hit me up later on the phone (like, 8 hours or so) and we’ll discuss.

    • marie says:

completely agree. the more she opens her mouth the more I dislike her..

    • geekychick says:

Weed is precious. Lady Gaga deserves just the bad s*it the beginners fall on. 😉

    • Sweet Dee says:

Agreed! I was actually just smoking some delicious Colorado Durban poison actually getting irritated at this bitch trying to represent. Sounds like you ladies have some sweet little crops out there in Cali 😉 I’ve smoked through the trauma though, it’s time for lunch. Thanks for representing weed girls right!

      • Lexi says:

Durban, like in South Africa? I found their weed was terrible. Had to force myself to smoke it!!

  12. valleymiss says:

I happen to love Gaga (and I also like Adele, though I prefer Gaga’s music slightly more) and this comment from her is sickening. Very, very disappointing to read. Born This Way was almost completely eclipsed by 21, but instead of being a good sport about it, Gaga resorts to this. I’m embarrassed to be a fan right now. (And btw, Gaga, people HAVE said things about Adele being overweight – namely, your own fans, on Twitter, after Adele won so many Grammys. Remember?)

I hate that I feel embarrassed to be a fan of artists that I find insanely talented (Gaga, Justin Timberlake) and then they’re involved in offensive incidences (body snarking, making fun of the homeless).

    • Marigold says:

Thank you! Where on earth did she get the idea that no one ever mentions Adele’s weight? It seems to be a part of every article written about her! And Lady Douchebag’s little monsters were full of hateful comments because someone with heaps more talent won an award over their obsession. And Gaga’s reaction to that was tepid, at best. But now that she’s the “victim”, we should all be upset that this is how the world works? Bullshit.

    • wild flower says:

I was nodding in agreement the whole post. Except for calling out Justin T. His friends did that without his knowledge and he apologized.

      • valleymiss says:

I only called out Justin cuz I have a feeling his friend wouldn’t have pulled that unless he thought Justin would think it was funny.

  13. Boo says:

    God, this woman is loathsome.

    • EmmaStoneWannabe says:

      Yep. Hideous inside and out.

      • DreamyK says:

        Nicely said.

I’m more curious about her boyfriend, Taylor Kinney, and what his angle is. I can’t imagine being hooked up to that raging narcissist.

  14. Stig says:

If I remember correctly adele was indeed criticised for her size

    • amanda says:

My thoughts exactly. Wasn’t it Gaga’s little monsters that took to twitter to skewer Adele about her weight?

    • littlestar says:

You are correct. Queen Karl criticized her a while ago for her weight, then tried to take back his words saying it was taken out of context, or some such nonsense.

  15. sheila says:

“Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it?”

because Adele doesn’t sell her body/image (although she was somewhat critizesd about her weight).

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

Exactly. Stop commodifying your body/image, Gaga, if you don’t want people to comment about it.

Her effin image is what made her famous, Adele’s one-in-a-million voice is what made HER famous. Big difference.

    • Gm says:

Somebody did say something about Adele’s weight. It was Gaga’s fans that started hating on Adele for her weight after 21 totally over shadowed Gaga’s album.

Gaga and her fans are just vile and disgusting.

  16. Marianne says:

If you read the rest of the article, you see that she also praises Adele and says she wants to match her confidence wise. And btw Adele is bigger than her. She didn’t say “fatter”, just bigger. And it is the truth.

    • Marigold says:

But the part where she pretends no one talks about Adele’s size was a big fat lie. So there’s that…

    • Izzy4ya says:

A fake as complement after you try to throw someone under the bus is not a complement. Ny been bringing her up she is basically asking that Adele receive the treatment that she claims isn’t right. And if her head want stuck so far up her self important ass she would know that Adele has been criticized much more despite being more consistent/genuine in her personality

      • Marianne says:

True, Adele has been scrutinized about her weight and perhaps Gaga has forgotten. BUT, I don’t think she was trying to be malicious in any way when she said Adele was bigger than her. She said Adele is bigger than her, but perhaps her weight isn’t brought up because Adele has a really good attitude about it, and that she wants to be like that.

I just think people are looking way too much into this.

  17. Cody says:

Wow Lady Gaga you sound a little like a “skinny bully” making fun of the “fat girl” you obviously don’t listen to your own anti-bully campaign.

    • Nola says:

I hope you’re being sarcastic. She’s not bullying Adele by saying Adele is bigger than she. Yes, it was inappropriate but she wasn’t taunting Adele.
Bullying has become such such a hot topic that a person can’t say anything critical about others.

      • NadineK says:

umm let’s see…the question had nothing to do with Adele and gaga mentioned her on purpose..maybe she’s jealous of her success or maybe because Adele have said: “They don’t look how they do in magazines or videos. “I have seen them up close. “They don’t even look like that. Exploiting yourself sexually is not a good look. I don’t find it encouraging. about Gaga and Madonna

  18. Shelley says:

I agree with Lady Gaga. How loony is the media for making a fuss about her non significant weight gain? It’s actually not okay to be as fat as Adele and yet noone gives her a hard time. Just becasue she has an amazing voice doesn’t mean it’s okay for her to be so unhealthy. What kind of message is that for young people??

    • Gigi says:

Adele doesn’t draw attention on how she looks. And Gaga is attention whore. Now she’s complaining because people noticed she gained some weight. Bitch please!

She wanted attention, why is she complaining now?

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

You’re right-the message of self-acceptance is a terrible one to bestow upon our youth.

Let’s starve ourselves to fit into whatever size the media tells us is “healthy” and “ideal”. Forget what feels normal, healthy or comfortable for us as individuals, we must all fit that one ideal size and shape. Or else.

      • UNF Joan Jett! says:

Comment award! Because being a slave to the narrow standarts of the beauty industry is more important than everything else.

      • snowshoe says:

Celebrities aside, I don’t think they meant it as “everyone should fit into the same mold” or anything about a lack of self acceptance, but that well… being fat (and lazy- that’s a key point) isn’t okay just because it makes you happy. It’s one thing if you are overweight for a variety of legitimate health reasons, but the obesity issue in this country shows that not everyone has an excuse. People try to be so PC and say “well we don’t really know the whole story” and in many cases that’s true, but I think people have forgotten that some people are fat just because they sit on their butts watching TV or driving everywhere instead of walking and eating a bunch of processed food. How is that ok? You’re not supposed to hate yourself because you’re fat, but where’s the incentive anymore? Not everyone who wants to lose weight is buying into society’s call for everyone to be a size 2, or is incapable of accepting themselves the way they are. Obesity has become normal today and nobody wants to hurt anyone else’s feelings so it just keeps going, it’s just a “life choice” now like anything else is… go ahead and be fat, I don’t care how someone looks, just don’t waste more of this planet’s resources in the name of laziness, skinny and fat people alike.

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

        Hey Snowshoe-
I really do appreciate everything you said in your post.

Just to clarify (and certainly not to brag)-I work out every day. Literally EVERY day. Some would say I’m a compulsive over-exerciser as I average 12-14 miles a day between walking and running. I also do 1 hour of INTENSE strength-training (TABATA & Body Pump) twice a week. Exercise is my stress-reliever, it’s my time to zone out and meditate, to let off steam, to relax. It makes me feel better. But as a result of this, I have severe anemia. I look fit and I can run fast but I’m not 100% healthy.
The anemia makes me exhausted, super-anxious and to be frank, a bit crazy emotionally (as a bad vitamin-deficiency will do to ya). I don’t want to sound insincere about supporting women who are bigger but choose a different lifestyle than I do (since I obviously live a very active lifestyle), I just honestly think the older I get that it’s not always as easy as people think to maintain a lifestyle like mine and frankly, I don’t blame people who choose to put other things above exercise. I do agree that many people are lazy but again, it’s their choice, I don’t necessarily relate/understand that, but I don’t judge, just like I wouldn’t want them to judge me for exercising as much as I do.

I don’t know..I think women need to lift each other up. I don’t know how exactly you get people to value health, but I am SURE that criticizing them is not the most effective way to get them to care. In fact,I think it most often discourages them by making them feel inferior or like they’re somehow a failure. Women put up with SO much shit from society-I just think we need to go easy on ourselves..

      • LittleDeadGirl says:

Snowshoe, I just don’t understand how it’s anyone’s business what weight some else is and how you link being overweight with using up more resources. You can actually eat very little and gain weight … it’s how many calories you consume.

You also link gaining weight with being lazy. I recently gained weight. I did so because I’m incredibly stressed and busy as hell going to medical school. I sleep about 5 hours a night and the rest of the time I’m at school, at work, or at the clinic. The time I was at my fittest was when I was laziest … I had shit to do all day … so I had TIME to exercise. I’m sure many people have the same issue and even if they don’t. Maybe they just don’t want to be fit, or care to be fit, or have other things to do. Some people love to exercise and that’s awesome. We all got a short time on this planet and I don’t plan on spending it trying to be a certain weight.

If someone in your life asks for you help to lose weight or gain weight or whatever to get healthy. That’s awesome. Help them, but it’s none of your business how much someone else weights. Please don’t make sweeping generalizations about how much resouraces someone takes up based on weight. I’m pretty sure Paris Hilton uses up 10 times more of the world’s resources and it has shit to do with her being skinny.

      • geekychick says:

        + 1000, a million, a billion….thank you for saying this!
You know, people have a right to look and act hovewer they want, no matter what you think is healthy: if I want to smoke, I’ll smoke, if I want to eat, I’ll eat-it’s my right to do with my life as I please. So is Adele’s (sp?). Can we stop with concern-trolling about what is unhealthy for other people? Do you buy fresh produce every time? Do you cook from scratch, hot meal every day? Do you drink just water and homemade lemonade, so as not to give people around you bad example with artificial sweeteners and sodas? Do you smoke? DS o you get drunk? Should I judge you based on that? Should I proclaim you unhealthy and a bad example? Is it my bussiness? NO.
One more thing: Adele isn’t sitting on Twitter and posting how all this binge eating is making her happy and successfull.Gaga posted on Twitter, to her fans how poip-stars don’t eat. Adele isn’t promoting her body image as a part of her success, Gaga is.

    • Marigold says:

So, you’re Adele’s physician, then? You know how healthy or unhealthy she is? Talking out of one’s ass isn’t a good lesson for the youngsters either.

    • Ann Emmess says:

Fun fact to those who think it’s “not okay” to be Adele’s size:

If you are underweight, then statistically, Adele will live a few years longer than you do. A person has to be up into the “morbidly obese” range, which last I saw Adele was not, before there’s any negative impact on lifespan or quality of health from higher weight.

Judge away, just keep in mind you may only have limited time to do so.

    • jaye says:

Just because Adele is a big girl doesn’t mean that she is unhealthy. You can be bigger than the standard set by society and still be healthful. People need to get their heads out of their asses when it comes to other peoples weight.

  19. geekychick says:

“Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it?”
Because Adele is selling music, and you, my dear Gangrene-of-the-music, are selling your schtick (nudity-body-sex-shock-plagiarizing real artists): YOU used your body, Adele is using her music for her fame. So, her weight has nothing to do with her fame: your tired shtick has everything to do with yours.
p.s. :I would never judge you by your weight. I’m judging you by your talent and music, and let me tell you, you failed on that test.

    • Victoria says:

      I love your comment.

She just pisses me off. And anything I wrote I would say it to her face, I don’t care who you are if you’re an asshole I’m gonna tell you you’re an asshole famous or not.

  20. shewolf says:

Adele doesnt walk around with her tits hanging out and I cant say I have ever seen her ass because she refuses to wear pants. So yeah that could be why its a bigger deal for Gaga to gain weight. You put it out there, its going to get criticised.

  21. Micki says:

Adele sings better too. You should thank God, Gaga, that noone talks about that either

  22. Emily says:

Not only are the Adele comments ridiculous for the reasons listed here, it’s totally untrue. LOTS of people have felt the need to comment on Adele’s weight, and for a while she was asked about it in every interview, or they mentioned it in everything written about her.

  23. Gigi says:

Because Adele’s a singer not a stupid caricature like Lady Bla Bla. Wannabe ‘artist’

    JUST DISAPPEAR ALREADY!!!!!

  24. Lake Mom says:

Lady Gaga comparing herself to Adele is like an Archie comic book comparing itself to Shakespeare.

  25. LadyJane says:

    SAAAAGGGY boobs. That is all.

  26. the original bellaluna says:

Because Adele is not an asshole who has based her career on a caricature.

    DUH.

(And this is based solely on the headline.)

  27. crazymary says:

Wow. That seems like bullying to me, right? Calling someone out for being “fatter than me” and then giving some stupid “praise” to make it all seem ok. Not Cool.

    Gaga is an enormous DICK.

    #TeamAdele #TeamTalent

    • Malificent says:

Please don’t call Lady Gaga a big dick — you’ll being giving her ideas for her next costume!

  28. tracking says:

They do talk about how Adele is “bigger” than you, Gaga–with respect to talent, fame, respect, etc.

  29. HadleyB says:

Adele is fat, or rather chubby. She IS bigger than Gaga, those are facts. And women ARE mean to each other for no reason ( I wont say jealousy because that is so over used every single time someone doesn’t like a person/hair/outfit/body etc).

I don’t like Gaga ( I admit I did when Just Dance came out ) but what she says is true I just think she should of said ” there are many talented performers who weigh more than me and no one give them grief” or something like that. She didn’t have to name names .. Adele is quite aware of her size .. anyone who has gained weight over their normal is WELL aware of their gain.

I think the media was stupid for making her weight gain news and people hide behind the computer/twitter to make mean comments they wouldnt say to anyones face.

    • SpunkyPR says:

Then take it out on the media and not another entertainer. Oh wait, that’s right, she’s not actually saying the media is doing it because they are who she relies on to remain relevant. I felt she could have made her point without calling out someone’s name.

  30. Chria says:

Why are people measuring talent based off weight? I think its really rude and it makes you no better then any bully belittling others. Shes a little fat…so what? Shes not a health spokesmen shes a freaking singer. Im sure shes aware of her weight and doesnt need the world to remind her.

  31. Julianthe says:

No one says anything about Adele because she isn’t narcissistic and self-absorbed as you. You demand attention constantly while inadvertently screaming “LOOK AT ME!!!” Did you just not get enough positive attention from your parents when you were younger? I used to admire you Gaga, but now you’re bordering the hate list. Fame,…really is a monster isn’t it? It sure turned you into someone with very low self-esteem (mind you, narcissist really have self-esteem issues).

  32. Jay Elle says:

“what kind of example is that for a little girl” uhh I dunno, Gaga… what kind of example do you set by being a total hypocrit about skinning & wearing animals, saying ur “born this way” but wearing a shitload of make up & bizarre costumes & getting plastic surgery, talking about your past and current drugs use. I DON’T KNOW GAGA. WHAT KIND OF INFLUENCE IS THAT?

  33. Meanchick says:

The fact that she dropped Adele’s name says it all for me. She is jealous. She knows Adele is far more talented than she is and stole the spotlight Gaga thinks she deserves because she’s well, skinnier. Gaga is no better than these other mean girls who lower themselves when the only thing they can say about another woman is something about weight or appearance in general. Adele haters on this post, get off Gaga’s d**k. Don’t defend Gaga by saying, “Well, Adele IS fat and unhealthy.” I wish people would stop using their false concern for someone’s health as a reason to call them fat. Gaga is nothing if she gains a lot of weight, because she sells image more than anything else.

  34. Riana says:

Because when peoplemsaid things about Adele’s weight, and they DID – your own fans to be exact, remember when they trashed her for receiving more MTV nominations than you and until MTv Publisized how hypocritical they were being while you said nothing you kept your mouth shut?

The thing is when Adele gets comments about her weight she doesn’t give an f. She knows who she is and that her weight is the LEAST important part of her and she keeps making music. when you got comments about your weight you did the equivalent of going “OKAY NO ONE TALKS ABOUT ANYONE’S WEIGHT EVER!!!!” and proceeded to take half naked pics of yourself and walk around in booty shorts.

    In other words: Shhhh.

  35. christy says:

    😉

  36. christy says:

Gaga just misspoke, she meant to say “better”.

  37. JM says:

Adele says more about girl power – without speaking – that Gaga ever could with all her crazy talk.

  38. Zigggy says:

    God, she’s such an idiot.

  39. Reece says:

I have so many things to say on this but I think I’ll just go listen to my Adele youtube playlist, on repeat.

  40. Katie says:

Last I checked, Adele wasn’t running around half naked in public. That might have something to do with it.

  41. kosy says:

I just don’t get the ‘Little Monsters’.. Why do they just eat up everything she says? She’s just a coked-up skank who got lucky with a couple of hits, and has somehow extended her fame with stupid outfits, her ridiculous ‘art’, and the obvious pandering to these poor fools. I am so over her.

  42. lower-case deb says:

this is a Pseudo-Samantha Brick Maneuver she’s pulled, i guess. “women sh!t on wom!n harder than they do on other things, living or alive [true enough, i spose], but then again, look at Adele, she’s bigger than me [well, mathematically i suppose so], but no one sh!ts on her [conveniently forgetting that her fans did and rather cruelly too, and all she gave was one measly press release; i guess that’s why she couldn’t remember, it’s something her team made her do and it’s so against her born-this-way-no-one-tells-me-what-to-do attitude she projects]”

also. her weight gain being in the same segment as the election and the business/economic news? she must be watching a different kind of news channel i’m watching.

(then again the Justilena (or Biebomez?) appeared on C-Span just the other day, so weird things happen, I guess).

wait. I guess her weight gain does appear on the economic section of the news under inflation. so it’s 30 pounds now is it?

  43. TriedTru says:

Ok, in full disclosure I’m not a Gaga fan but I will give her credit for being able to keep her name in the media and get attention for herself. What I find maddening about this is that she specifcally names Adele. This is maddening for two reasons: 1) she knows full well that there is a history or her Little Monsters attacking Adele on her behalf (http://newsroom.mtv.com/2011/07/21/vma-nominations-lady-gaga-twitter-little-monsters-insult-adele/); and 2) Gaga has come out publically about bullying in all forms (http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1675501/lady-gaga-white-house-bullying.jhtml).

You would think that a person who is as skilled at garnering attention to herself AND is hyper-aware of the history of bullying Adele by her fans would have been more careful about what she said.

She should just stop talking, throw on another piece of meat and walk through airports scaring people.

  44. Fai says:

Dear GAG-ga. Adele may be bigger, but you’re definitely more stupid. And don’t be pissed when she ignores anything you say coz she has already found her happiness while you stay desperate. Thank you.

  45. Stubbylove says:

Damn she is a stupid bitch.

  46. Ginger says:

UGH! Feminism is about female empowerment and equality period! There is no “new” feminism. How exactly is she empowering other women by making comments about Adele’s weight? She needs to stop smoking her costume.

  47. Green_Eyes says:

Way to preach against girl on girl hate..go after Adele’s weight in next paragraph. She is SO FULL of herself. That 30lbs she gained is her massive EGO!

Hmmm let’s see Adele does have ignorant people comment on her weight… BUT unlike those who feel they need their bodies to be dressed in as little as possible in the name of entertainment, Adele is always dressed wonderfully and let’s her voice make her statement… If u don’t want to be critiqued for how u have changed… Don’t make ur
body and skimpy outfits be ur statement UNLESS they fit the size u are when u are wearing them!

  48. katsrulz says:

Did Lady Gaga miss the whole Karl Lagerfeld fiasco? Or people threatening to kill Adele and her baby (along with all kinds of horrible, cowardly postings)? Lady Gaga is so out of touch. And I LOVED her first album…I thought she was a breath of fresh air but then I realized it was just smoke and mirrors.

  49. TheOneAndOnlyOnly says:

    Agree with aiobahn kosy and others; she is just a gimmick shilling products like any other silly pop star; Excuse me if i’m wrong but i don’t remember bands musicians back in the 60s/70s being this moronic – many of them were actually cool and TALENTED;
Gaga, in a way, is emblematic of much of the present generation – narcissistic, entitled, unwilling to take advice or instruction,
Confusing media whoring with actual talent; She, like many young “stars”, is just plain dislikable, What a trip it will be to so what kind of loser she is like in 10 years.

  50. jess says:

Everything she spewed out were a bunch of articulate words that meant nothing. That’s how she gets a crowd thinking she’s a genius but if you pay attention nothing makes sense! She’s the better spoken Lana Del Rey, both a gimmick! She disgusts me.

    • claire says:

      Seriously.
She speaks a bunch of jibberish, and tries to project that she’s avant-garde, and makes high brow art, but she’s just a weak-voiced singer making vapid pop songs.

  51. lucy2 says:

She’s a hypocrite, a narcissist, and a bully, even if she does it in a passive, sly way. All her empowerment talk is just to sell herself and keep herself in the news.
It’s a shame so many girls look up to her, but someday they’ll look at her and roll their eyes, like I do now to Madonna.

  52. G says:

Adele just had a baby too! Totally disgusting hypocritical narcissistic drug-induced crap in the interview.

  53. Chatcat says:

But she got the exact reaction she wanted…complete exposure and people have her names on their lips, good or bad it’s all Gag-gag today.

Disclaimer: This is only the second Gag-gag thread I’ve ever posted on because I find her disgusting at every level and will not feed-the-beast.

  54. busy ramone says:

Her comment about Adele was totally bitchy, but I’m way more offended by her attitude towards feminism.

If feminism had succeeded in this world we wouldn’t even be talking about her or Adele’s weight and women wouldn’t hate on each other.

She shouldn’t even talk about feminism because obviously she doesn’t know the first thing about it if she’s going to claim not to know why women hate on each other. What a basic bitch.

Women hate on each other because of the divide-and-conquer mentality of the patriarchal system that oppresses us and teaches us to internalize our oppression to the point where we’ll scratch each others eyes out to clamor for the only attention we’re supposed to be allowed to have…men’s sexual attention. Which Lady Gaga plays into extraordinarily.

I can’t figure out if she’s this dumb by contractual obligation or if she is really that blind.

    • tlc0113 says:

      I love this post…

    • MaiGirl says:

+1,000!!! I hate that ‘women are mean to each other for no reason’ crap! You stated the reasons very succinctly. It’s only internalized misogyny that keeps women blaming other women for oppression.

  55. DethHammer says:

“as a new-age feminist, I would say I quite like the transference of strength I feel by submitting to a man – being under him. I actually wrote a song about it on my album, it’s called G.U.Y. and it stands for Girl Under You. So wearing make-up, smelling delicious and having suckable, kissable, edible things between your limbs is something I find strengthening because I know that when I pick the right guy, I can let him have it.”

“Sometimes I think, “Well, no-one’s going to want to f*ck me in that!””

“Sit in front of the mirror with all of the paints and colours and wigs that you have at your disposal, and just have a real talk with yourself. “What do I not like about me?” And then, peer into the mirror – and just f*cking draw right over it because that’s what make-up is here for”

And with those three statements, Lady Gaga has single-handedly pushed BACK the Women’s Rights Movement about 50 years. EPIC FAIL Gaga! Seriously, those are some of the most UNfeminist statements I’ve ever heard from anyone! “Just draw over your flaws, smell pretty by buying my perfume and make sure you look pretty and f*able at all times” What a loser. With her puffed up lips, eyelid surgery, botox and suddenly slim (probably ultrasound lipo’ed) body, she fully looks and sounds like the insecure, immature, raging narcissist she truly is.

    • MaiGirl says:

Ah…another rant I agree with! Feminism is really only advocating for equality, and here she is reveling in subjugation. I have never contributed a red cent to her career, and I never will.

  56. some bitch says:

Look… all I wanted to do on my Friday off is smoke a bowl and relax before I spend an entire weekend researching, and this bitch ruined it for me. For somebody who’s all about AAAAARRRTTT and dressing in stupid outfits, that’s a pretty lame costume.

Her comments about feminism are revolting! God forbid her fans (how many are there really) take her comments seriously. I remember a few years back (’09 maybe? back when I could tolerate her a little) she claimed in an interview she WASN’T a feminist. Gaga’s so full of it and has been trying so hard with this gimmick for so long she’s losing her friggin’ mind trying to shock us.

    • The Original Tiffany says:

@somebitch, lol. Smoke the bowl and then you’ll feel better about the whole thing. 🙂

    • busy ramone says:

Well she did not lie. She is no feminist. High-profile women like her who espouse such appallingly anti-feminist views are dangerous to women as a whole. I really love some of her music but now I view her as an enemy.

      • some bitch says:

between Gaga and Rihanna, I honestly worry about how young people believe women should be treated.

The Fame was actually a fun album but I just can’t listen to it any more without instantly recalling all of Gaga’s dumb stunts between 2010 and today.

    • MaiGirl says:

I agree with literally everything you said, some bitch, and I, too, will be smoking some sweetgrass in a matter of mere hours 🙂 I hate the fact that it’s famewhores like Gaga always speaking about feminism in mainstream media, whereas women with more of an understanding of real feminism struggle to get heard. It’s so frustrating, because women fought for these idiots to have the right to have an opportunity to speak their minds, and all they do is spout a conservative, non-threatening version of feminism that supports whatever exploitative thing they choose to do to stay relevant. Yeah, Gaga, feminism is being subservient (GUY=Going Under You? REALLY??? Someone should set fire to her face for that bullsh__), adhering to beauty standards, and calling other women fat. Thank you, Gaga Steinem.

  57. videli says:

How is it possible that an idiot like her is garnering so much attention? Is she a cultural icon or opinion maker and I missed it? Just like Lohan, she just wakes up periodically form her haze of drugs and self-importance, and she’s running her mouth, with no logical or moral consistency.

  58. Karen says:

I have to say, I think that Adele’s weight isn’t as big of an issue because she doesn’t walk around with cannabis leaves covering her t*ts.

  59. TheOneAndOnlyOnly says:

Can anyone conjecture how many hours a day this trick actually spends on her “music”; Art/music is, among others things, a discipline; this is what happens when the machine makes immature narcissist’s famous?

  60. Anastacia Beaverhouzen says:

she is annoying and over rated.

  61. Shelly says:

    Uhhh… -_- i…no…i got nothing.

  62. dahlianoir says:

What a useless piece of sh*t.

  63. B says:

It’s striking how she manages to become more and more obnoxious. You’d think there’d be a limit.

  64. Kamila says:

Ummm…Adele isn’t the one walking around nearly naked everywhere she goes. So yeah, Lady Gaga, go jump off your high horse.

  65. Francesca says:

She just put herself in the dumb ass category of performers. What a mean and unnecessary thing to say, esp from someone who is a supposed champion of underdogs or people who are different (gay, fat, whatever). Her comment proves what doctors say is true: pot kills brain cells….

  66. Zombie Shortcake says:

I think women experiencing sexual gratification and satisfaction in whatever ways please them is empowering and female positive/feminist
(as long as anyone involved is a legally consenting adult).

  67. Sefa says:

What a f–king idiot. I try not to say that outright about people, but Jesus. Surely, she’s saying most of this for attention, right? Especially the Adele bit. Right? There are fewer things I hate more than a woman saying women are awful to each other without pointing out that we’re usually pitted against each other early on; instead, it just makes it sound like we’re catty competitive bitches, and I have to leave this post now before I get super nnnfnffff.

  68. fran says:

i get the lady gaga hate… but im not going to defend adele she isnt a remodel at all. in her interviews she says i would given up my career for this guy and just sang in the shower, im so sad blah blah & i just want to give up music and grow vegetables have kids and then she goes on and chains smokes a whole bunch. it’s as if success was given to the wrong person it’s like she doesnt care about it. i guess i just hate when celebs say they want the simple life when they have so much power to change they have a voice.

  69. StaCat1 says:

Adele is an amazing singer. She isnt’ a media whore- and doesn’t trollop about naked.
No one should be bullied for their size–agreed. But didn’t she just throw Adele under the bus?? Which to me is the same as bullying.

  70. Jennifer12 says:

Because, Gaga, Adele has actual talent and doesn’t rely on gimmicks. Please shut up.

  71. skuddles says:

I never used to mind Gaga, thought she at least had a certain element of artistic authenticity and integrity about her, but now I think she’s just an asshole. It was totally unnecessary for her to compare herself to Adele, particularly in light of the fact Adele just had a baby – she does need to be reading about how “big” she is when she’s in the early stages of postpartum. Or ever for that matter. Gaga must be jealous of her to make such a rude, twatty comparison.

  72. Denise says:

She must be high if she thought this was a good Halloween costume (no offence to weed). It’s about as good as those plastic grocery store costumes where the picture of what you’re supposed to be is on the front.

  73. palermo says:

This disgusts me. Adele relies on her SINGING and that’s it period. Gaga is all nakedness, fireworks, thousands of backup people etc. No comparison whatsoever. One is a singer and the other is a gimmick.

  74. Shannon says:

Because Adele says she makes music for ears, not eyes. Whereas OBVIOUSLY Gaga wants to be SEEN wherever she goes. I mean come on, it’s not that hard to figure out.

  75. darth says:

HILARIOUS that she says her fans create “a positive space” and spread positive messages. Her fans are the most vicious, hateful, shallow, negative bunch of bullies I have ever seen.
Amazing how this waste of oxygen is allowed to talk so much untrue, contradictory crap, all of the time, and people and the media continue to listen and empower her to do so.
Well, her popularity has waned quite a bit in just the past year, so hopefully we won’t be bothered with her nonsense much longer.
Wonder what she’ll do with herself when her fame is over and she’s forced to come back to earth and be a real person.

  76. Myauntieisacat says:

Adele has the face and voice of an angel. Nuff said.. Gaga is getting b-tchy and I don’t like it , goes against her original credo. She should leave Adele out of her self absorbed narcissistic rants. She’s doing to many drugs its making her stupid and obnoxious.

  77. Aud says:

She doesn’t have to do much because her ‘fans’ are the suckers that carry her ‘message’ – her superficial take on everything.
She isn’t wrong there. She really hasn’t ‘artistically’ followed up her debut album. Each follow up has either been a rehash (remixes and the like) or absolute crap (Eurotrash songs that wouldn’t even pass Eurovision – that is how crap her songs are).
Lady Gaga is the music equivalent of junk food.

  78. LittleDeadGirl says:

If Gaga wanted to be a positive role model for weight she should have just ignored the comments. Making such a big deal about them only enhances the problem. Women need to maintain some perfect weight no matter what else they have going on in their life.

  79. Ms. Candy says:

I am no Gaga die hard fan but I can see what she is saying:

She gained weight and they made that big news on major network channels. Adele is a big girl and you don’t see them discussing it all over the news and dragging it out.

That is how I took what Gaga said- Why the hell would me gaining weight be that important for them to broadcast it on the news.

I don’t think she was throwing Adele under the bus but then again I don’t know her personally nor do I know Adele but that is what I take from what she says…

  80. The Original Mia says:

I tend to ignore most of what comes out of Lady Blah Blah mouth’s, so my immediate thought when I read the headline was “hmm…good for her for admitting Adele is a better singer”. I feel stupid because I finally realized 24 hrs later what this overexposed twit is saying. WTF?

  81. Mara says:

Hey Gaga , Adele is a very beautiful curvy woman and she have a amazing voice that’s why people don’t talk about her body you on the other side not that pretty and very trashy looking .

  82. Tebeau23 says:

I think everyone is talking what she said out of context. And it is true, Adele is bigger than her and it wasn’t fair that because gaga gained 25-30 pounds and a picture taken at the wrong moment and fake/photoshopped pictures caused EVERYONE to throw fire at her. and it’s kinda hypocritical that you guys are just bashing her for it, You’re on the same level as her. But I do honestly believe that she didn’t mean it as shade and that it was taken out of context. I know what I say will probably get smashed by negative people saying i’m wrong and stuff, so i wont be checking up on who replied. I’m just being level headed and hoping I get to some people. The interview was a great inside look at how she thinks. Take care. -T

  83. Me says:

I don’t think Gaga meant Adele’s bigger than her in weight. I think she meant Adele’s bigger than her in success and fame, which is fairly self-deprecating. Remember that time when Adele’s 21 was at the top of the charts for weeks and weeks on end? “her confidence is something I have to match. She has set the bar very high for a lot of women.” I think the media is just twisting her words to get a rise out of people. -_- It’s ridiculous.

  84. Gigohead says:

Gaga is a hater and her messages of bully is going to go by the waste side now because what she did was in very bad taste. You DON’T stick a knife in the back of a fellow female performer. Was it hard to say that MALE artist aren’t judged or criticized for their bodies or looks?? Male artists can be fat slobs and they go on merrily on with their lives.

  85. Tuxedo Cat says:

I think that what Lady Gaga got was a little bit of payback. There’s nothing like a quick 20 lb weight gain to humble one…..I also don’t recall Gaga being so insecure and complaining….I wonder who she is hanging around with.

She seems to be taking a prolonged pot holiday….I hope she snaps out of it, because, while it’s okay for recreational use, using it as a means of escaping is going to take away her motivation to record and tour.

  86. Kathryn says:

Can we all agree that Lady Gaga is a passing fad?
