Mariah Carey cancels her upcoming tour; encourages pregnancy rumors

Mariah Carey is really working the “maybe I’m pregnant – just keep wondering” angle. She has yet to confirm a thing, but has managed to do a lot of interviews lately (keeps people talking), and conveniently walk out of a prominent ob/gyn’s office holding a piece of paper that looked like a sonogram.

It certainly can’t be accidental, since Mariah knows she’s photographed all the time and everyone’s wondering about a possible bun in the oven. Obviously she wants the attention. So just to make Mariah as happy as I can, here’s a little more gossip to throw out: she’s canceled her tour, which just increases the speculation that she’s pregnant. It was also a really bitchy thing to do, because now there’s a bunch of people without jobs right before the holidays.

Mariah Carey’s pregnancy rumors refuse to go away as she has reportedly scrapped plans for a forthcoming tour to prepare for her first child.

Carey has been dogged by speculation she is expecting since marrying Nick Cannon earlier this year, but she frequently refuses to confirm the reports.

And the rumors were fueled after insiders told the New York Daily News that the star had pulled all plans for an upcoming string of concerts because she is pregnant.

A source tells the publication, “Costume designers and dancers were all called Wednesday and told the tour is off.

“Most were hysterically crying because they were relying on her for a paycheck this holiday season.”

However, a representative for Carey refutes the claims: “I have not been told she’s pregnant.”

If she is pregnant, there will be a lot less people who’ll be happy for Mariah considering her poor timing. Some people are also commenting that they don’t think she ever had serious intentions of doing a tour – it was probably just to drum up more publicity. I’ve really started to think that the celebs who refuse to confirm their pregnancies are just the ones that want the most attention. And Mariah putting a bunch of people out of work is really the only way I can imagine to be more obnoxious about it.

Those people weren’t entitled to a tour-she doesn’t owe them anything.

If anything they should be happy to have had the opportunity to work for her and make the big bucks in the past.

HEB: yes, but now they have to find new jobs for Christmas. God, you’re bitter.

Mariah is such an attention-whore. She is talented, but she’d be famous enough without everyone going ‘Is she pregnant?!?’ all the time.

Yeah and what if the tour doesnt sell well then whose fault is that. Alot of tours arent doing well because of the economy, so dont go blame MC if she doesnt want to tour.

I’m sorry Jaybird, but don’t you think getting pregnant is something you can’t precicely time? And also, this woman is 38, she doesn’t have all the time in the world anymore. I can understand being pregnant is her biggest priority, not pleasing her fans. So what if she lets them down? They’ll get over it.

Well… she could have planned everything a little better. Who plans an international tour when they’re *trying* to get pregnant?

Well one thing’s for sure, there won’t ever be any ‘is she or isn’t she? an idiot’ debates.

Gawd all frickin’ mighty we’re in for a blow by blow account of the minutiae of Mimi’s pregnancy for months and months to come. Every weight gain. Every bad fashion choice (and we know there’ll be plenty of them  ) Every craving. All the details of the birthing arrangements…..and after it all the “Mariahs baby joy” articles and “How many millions are Mariahs baby pictures worth ” and “Mariah loses baby weight” stories.

2009 will be the Year of MARIAHS WOMB!!!

    I’m moving to antarctica

Hey Sue–do they get paid in advance or something? I wish I did! You’re whining to me about them being able to finance Christmas, but was she planning to have this tour in the next 14 days? Give me a break, they can find something else. Maybe they can go on Britney’s tour.

She is going to get so chubby. Love to see her try to fit into one of those spandex dresses afterwards.

I realize that I don’t know her personally.
But she seems very immature and self involved to be creating another life.
Then again, I was the same way before I got pregnant. Babies have a way of changing things.
I wish the best for her and her unborn maybe-baby.

Sorry but I think most folks won’t push out for a Mariah ticket. Things are really tough right now.

She was right to take the tour off the road.

I am eating at home now. No more dining out.Concert tickets are the last thing on my list. NO bread for that.

Or maybe they want to wait until at least the 12 week mark when the ‘danger time’ has passed? :|

  14. Well, that’s the most conservative outfit I’ve ever seen her in. Maybe she is pregnant…oh wait. I don’t care.
