Amy Winehouse “charms” her nurses

Last week The Sun reported that Amy Winehouse’s friends believe husband Blake Fielder-Civil brought her drugs when he visited her in the hospital. Shortly after that, Blake tested positive at his rehab facility and was sent back to jail. It seems like her friends’ worries might be legitimate, because Amy was reportedly about to get kicked out of the London Clinic as a result of his visit, which “sent her back to her old ways.” As a result, she’s been kissing up and helping out in an attempt to endear herself to the nurses and be allowed to stay.

TROUBLED AMY WINEHOUSE has been helping out as a NURSE during her stay in hospital, The Sun can reveal. The Rehab singer, 25, is looking after patients and serving meals — in a bid to avoid being kicked out.

Amy has stayed at the exclusive London Clinic for almost three weeks. She collapsed following a booze and drugs bender after a row with hubby BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL, 26.

She was on the verge of being kicked out at the start of this week after a visit from Blake sent her back to her old ways.

But an insider said: “She has been charming the nurses by helping them with their tasks. She’s been mucking in.”

Amy also asked X Factor bosses for tickets to tonight’s final — but producers refused as they did not want her to overshadow the contestants.

[From The Sun]

It’s cute that they say she’s been “helping out as a nurse,” but that’s obviously wholly inaccurate. It sounds like Amy’s just been helping out. Which is nice, but quite a leap to say anything else. It seems like the possibility of getting kicked out has made Amy reevaluate her attitude. I seriously can’t imagine how frustrating it would be to have a patient like her. Even though she’s famous, she brings so much drama that I doubt she’s any nurse’s favorite. It’s smart for Amy to try to endear herself to the staff, but frankly she should have been doing that all along. And I bet they’d like her even more if she actually worked hard at getting better.

  1. Are these pictures of her recent? She doesn’t look as “twacked” out as she usually does. I still like her singing, hopefully our little crackhead will get better

  4. Sorry - I don’t believe the helping out business at all. If nothing else it probably goes against about 83 Health & Safety rules and would have been stopped quick-smart by any staff nurse worth their salt.

    Charming, yes… charwoman, no.

  8. Mairead, what is a charwoman? Are you from England? Anyhoo, the best to Amy & it’s amazing how well a clean & sober person can clean/dress up! It truly never ceases to amaze me. Some people people become unreconizable, especially when the light in their eyes goes back on & they are not sitting in an empty chair so to speak.

  9. It’s painful to look at her. She was so kooky and cute. Now she has that dead look in her eyes. She’s scary and sad.

  10. I’ve said it a lot, but I find her sort of endearing.

  11. As long as she’s in there getting help is all that counts. And despite how difficult she might be, I can see the staff being effortlessly fond of her. People are, despite everything, because they know what she was like before she f*ked everything up. I’m starting to think that she might actually, finally turn things around for herself. And I am 100% rooting for her.

  12. Also, if she’s actually trying to stay in there, that’s a hopeful sign.

  15. My Xmas wish for Winehouse is:

    1) That she realizes her potential, and that the glass pipe can only bring her sorrow.

    2) That she stops ripping off her fans with crappy live performances (Lisbon, Glastonbury, and the V Festival).

    3) That she’ll keep her behind in rehab, instead of treating it like summer camp and actually, get HEALTHY. Recent pics of her do not look good.
