Ryan Phillippe flew into Sydney, Australia on Sunday and was greeted by his “secret” girlfriend, Abbie Cornish. “Secret” because they’ve generally kept quiet about their relationship, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Abbie is quoted in the November 11 edition of In Touch as saying “I love him very much” about Ryan and mentioning that “We all get along very well” in regards to his children. She spoke to In Touch at a Jay-Z concert on October 15, and those quotes supposedly aren’t second hand or attributed to a source. She also praised Ryan’s cooking skills, saying back then that “Ryan is a really good cook” and would probably prepare Thanksgiving. Other than that neither has mentioned the other that I could find.
Anyhoo, they’re dating and it’s been about two years. Perhaps Abbie’s trying to push the relationship along by inviting Ryan to spend the holidays with her and her family. Maybe Ryan is a decent guy who simply missed his girlfriend and wanted to spend some time with her.
As his ex-wife Reese Witherspoon continues to get more and more serious with boy-toy Jake Gyllenhaal, actor Ryan Phillippe’s romance with Australian actress Abbie Cornish took an interesting turn over the weekend when the pair hit the streets of Sydney over the weekend.
Ryan, who has all-but-admitted to dating Stop-Loss co-star Abbie, flew into the Australian metropolis on Sunday, where she was waiting at the airport for his arrival.
This is believed to be the first time Ryan has been Down Under with his Aussie sweetheart, and a report in the [Sydney] Herald Sun claims that the Flags of Our Fathers star is planning on spending the Christmas holiday with her.

It should also be noted that there’s an on-going “Abbie Cornish bump watch” in effect. The gossip about is-she or isn’t-she pregnant just won’t die, and this family time will only bring more attention to Cornish and the relationship.
I doubt Reese cares one way or the other about Ryan’s holiday plans, but I really wonder about their custody arrangement with the kids. Do you think that if Reese gets the kids for Christmas this year, he’ll get them next year? Do you think Reese has a problem with letting her kids around Abbie Cornish? She better not, because I see pics of Jake Gyllenhaal with their kids all the time.

If she’s pregnant, she’ll go down in history as the longest pregnancy ever, because I’ve been hearing these bump rumors ever since Ryan’s divorce.
I think Reese is okay with the kids being around Abbie, I’ve seen pictures of them all spending time together for months.
Whatever else you may think of Reese and Ryan, they have managed their divorce and newly single lives better than almost anyone I’ve ever seen.

Yea, but I gotta say, the different to the kids being with Jake all the time, and being with Abbie is that Jake isn’t the reason daddy cheated on mommy.
I mean, inevitably that marriage was bound for doom given the ease at which he cheated on her, but still.

LOL typical Reese fan. The only possible scenario is Reese was perfect Ryan cheated and Abbie is a home wrecker.
Personally I like this couple. I could care less how they got together. Reese and Ryan have both handled their divorce better then anyone else in Hollywood. Let them move on already.

Abbie appears to be a nice, clean-living young woman & I wld. imagine Reese can appreciate that. It cld. be a HELL of a lot worse. I am happy they all moved on & make their children their priority. What beautiful, well-mannered young children they have. I love Jake so much & think they make a perfect couple. No party animals there.

I never really cared for Ryan all that much as an actor. But I really have to applaud how they have all handled the divorce. Very mature, no hateful comments back and forth.
Bravo to all of them on that!
