Elisabeth Hasselbeck mad she wasn’t invited to White House holiday party

Governor Palin Attends Rally In Kissimee

Elisabeth Hasselbeck complained on “The View” yesterday that she didn’t get an invitation to the White House Christmas party this year. Looking incredibly frustrated and gesturing, Elisabeth seemed personally insulted that she wouldn’t be going to the party she’s been invited to for the past few years. Hasselbeck is an outspoken Republican and hit the campaign trail with Sarah Palin this year.

Talking quickly and visibly upset, Elisabeth explained that she’s received an invitation to the White House Christmas party for the past few years, but that this year it was missing:

“Every year, I wait by the mail… I love Christmas cards… and there’s one in particular that I usually like… for the past few years I’ve gotten a nice invitation to the White House Christmas party. Not the big one, but like the 20th one down the road – you get the leftovers at the party. I’ve been going to that one. No invitation this year…

“Maybe I didn’t do enough for the Republican party this year.” [gesturing with her palms up]

Addressing Joy: “You’re always asking me to maybe see the other side of things. Today I am with you Joy. Only today on this one subject… I am a little miffed.”

According to US Weekly, a White House official called Hasselbeck after the show and told her it was an oversight and of course she was invited.

Maybe they heard her little chat with Melissa Etheridge after their “hot topics” session and appreciated her efforts. Etheridge was the celebrity guest on the show and is promoting her new Christmas album. Etheridge and Hasselbeck got into it mildly over Prop 8, with Hasselbeck insisting that the people had voted on the same sex marriage issue, and if it didn’t pass in California it wouldn’t pass in other parts of the country. She brought up the “activist judge” argument while Etheridge mentioned Thomas Jefferson’s famous quote that the majority should not be able to vote on the rights of a minority.

You can watch their exchange on YouTube, it’s at around 4:00 minutes into the video. The Huffington Post has an excerpt.

Melissa Etheridge has two year-old twins with her same sex civil partner, Tammy Lynn Micheals. They married in a traditional ceremony in 2003, but were never able to make it “official” legally as they didn’t take advantage of marriage rights in their state when they were briefly granted to same sex couples for a few months this year.

Who is she? Wasn’t she in that reality show? Survivor? I hope she disappears down the drain with Palin.

  2. vdantev says:

You sided with the wrong candidate, you stupid b*tch.

  3. Syko says:

Yeah, Kim, and then she married some washed up NFL quarterback. Those are her qualifications for fame and more money than you or I ever hope for.

  4. EM says:

Please make this harpy go away!!

  5. Bob says:

The only reason the View hired this moron was to make Republican women look bad. Now that Obama has been elected, they’ll drop her.

  6. SeVen says:

I wouldnt invite Hasslecrack to a funeral for the turd my dog dropped last week.

  7. LeoLo says:

Who loves christmas cards that much?
I hope this dumb ho gets strep throat!

  8. mojoman says:

GAH!! I think we should write a petition to send her away where she started, in a deserted island. At least she knows how to fend herself once stranded!

  9. NA says:

send her to that island with heidi and spencer, kim kardashian, paris hilton
    etc

  10. ri23 says:

    Ha ha, loser. You fail.

  11. pissoff says:

    Conservative cow.

  12. voodoobetty says:

Hey I didn’t get my invitation either but you don’t hear me whining and I’m much more important than she is. I hear they need catering staff, maybe she can get in that way. Seriously who would want an invitation after the fact when you were obviously not invited and had to kick up a stink on national telly to get one? LOSER.

  13. Feebee says:

While her over the top campaigning for the Reps seemed OTT at times, it’s smaller comments like this that show the real character of this inappropriate, ungracious, pissy little bitch. She just called out the White House staff. And for her next trick she’ll go to the party and turn her nose up at the food. You just can’t buy class these days.

  14. meow mix says:

Thank you SeVen for that visual. I’m going to have to use that one sometime.

  15. Kaiser says:

Why didn’t the White House invite her? Did someone with half a brain cell realize that Hasselbeck actually hurts the “conservative” cause?

  16. kate says:

given that lots of people are losing their jobs and their homes for christmas, this shrill harpy needs to count her blessings and stop whining on air.

  17. Annie says:

I’ve never had to listen to someone so self-righteous before in my life.

Where does she get off? What makes her feel so entitled to all these things?

I can’t stand her, and hopefully, she will drop off into obscurity where she and her ignorant, racist and selfish views belong.

  18. ri23 says:

Annie: “Where does she get off?” I think if she got off more often she wouldn’t be such an uptight bitch.

  19. Elizabeth says:

She is such a crass and ignorant slug of a human being.

  20. Christina says:

damn don’t be shy… tell us what you REALLY think of her :-p

  21. aleach says:

    ohh seVen, can i come???!?!!

  22. lurker says:

It’s funny because I actually liked her on Survivor, and was happy for her that she got the job on The View….well, that is until I watched her on it for the first time. It’s amazing what the Survivor editors were able to do.

  23. DLR in Canada says:

boo-fucking-hoo that she didn’t get an invite. although i understand after that episode aired someone from the white house called her and said “oops, your name was mistakenly not put on the list.” yeah, right. my gosh, what a whiner she is, and she knew exactly what she was doing when she whined about it on the view coz she now got the invite!

  24. Ron says:

I wouldn’t invite Lizzy Borden Hasselbeck over to srucb my floors, let alone to attend a soiree. Everytime I think she can’t sink any lower, she finds another fathom.

  25. chessie says:

Well, she should get used to it. I doubt she’ll have another invitation any year soon.

  26. Grandizer says:

Hahaha, if it is truly the “20th party down the line” and “they serve the leftovers from the major bash” then why do you really care to be there?
It seems there would only be E or higher listers there anyways.
