In a move that will crush the hopes of deluded Dawson Creek and Brokeback Mountain fans everywhere: it seems as if the talented, fertile and blonde couple have quietly made it official. The tell-tale ring was apparently spotted while Mr. Mom Ledger was out taking little Matilda for a walk.
HEATH Ledger and Michelle Williams have married in secret, it has been reported.
The couple - who have a 14-month-old daughter Matilda - applied for a marriage licence in Brooklyn last November and Ledger has now been spotted wearing a wedding ring.
Speculation has been rampant since the young Brooklyn-living, townhouse-owning couple picked up a marriage license last November … and apparently slow and steady wins the race because they may very well have managed it entirely under the tabloid radar.
Pretty damn admirable when you think that they are “spotted” picking up the license and “spotted” wearing a ring. I mean who’s hanging out at the Brooklyn Courthouse hoping to feed stories to Page Six of the Post? When your moves are tracked that closely scoring the quiet wedding definitely takes skills.
My favorite odd facts in the burgeoning coverage are that if they are married they will be having a quiet reception at the River Café – the ultimate place to view the Manhattan skyline from the Brooklyn Side … confirming them as the ultimate aspirational Brooklyn yuppie couple … the terrace at the River Café will be jammed with bugaboo strollers from all their couple friends in Matilda’s play group. And don’t think the competition and backroom deals to get into that playgroup won’t be Texas Cheerleader Mom level fierce and evil amongst their Brooklyn Heights townhouse-owning peers.

I believe it when someone from their camp confirms it. Their rep denied applying for the license and she used to refer to him as her “husband” even though they were not married at the time… when asked, she said it was more convenient that way. She obviously wants to get married and he (so far) avoided the topic (nearly jumping out of his chair when asked about it on Leno). I would not be at all surprised if she told him to wear the wedding ring she bought. She’s weird, remember her closing her fansites?

kailie2-I think that maybe she is just very un-hollywood- she really seems to want to have some semblamce of narmalcy in her life. Closing her fansites was probably her way of attempting to maintain privacy, but I don’t think that makes her weird. I think they make a cute couple and they have a daughter so I hope they really did get married and are very happy together.

she must be really down to earth, she’s wearing the same jacket that myself and a thousand other new yorkers wear and it’s under $100!!!

kim- the site she closed down didn’t have paparazzi pics of her, only pics she posed for. She just a bitch.

The fansite didn’t post any paparazzi pictures but it unluckily posted some private pictures. So she asked for taking them down through her lawyers. And you can find some articles which he refered to her as his wife. They’re so private people and very low-key.

If you’re so low key and don’t want ANY publicity (and you still want to be an actor), you can just do theater. They’re both in major movies, particularly Heath (Patriot, Knight’s Tale etc). What exactly did they expect? That nobody would look at them? If you don’t want to be famous, don’t be… don’t do red carpet, don’t do magazine shoots, interviews, don’t show up to store openings (like this so-private couple did while campaigning for their Oscars). You can’t turn it on and off and you just have to take the good with the bad. They just can’t deal with it graciously. Grin and bear it instead of giving the finger.
