Elisha Cuthbert covers the March issue of Maxim with the title of “TV’s Most Beautiful Woman.” She has accepted this honor with total grace (see below), but (and this is a bit embarrassing) I have to admit feeling a bit surprised since I didn’t even realize that Elisha was back on television. I strongly recall her for her role in “24,” but I guess I just didn’t realize she was on a current show. Also, I just took seven Advil about an hour ago and am still in a wee bit of pain (long, stupid story), so I’m a bit off my usual train of thought. What I do find interesting is that Elisha appears to be fully aware of the fact that her new show, “Happy Endings,” also stars a number of other very attractive women, and Elisha gushes about them in her interview. Here are some excerpts:
Boob tube beauty! Elisha Cuthbert has been named TV’s most beautiful woman by the editors of Maxim. Wearing a retro swimsuit on the magazine’s March cover, the “Happy Endings” star calls the honor “very flattering.”
“To think that one person could be the most beautiful when there’s Kaley Cuoco, Sofia Vergara, Zooey Deschanel? They’re all stunning,” says Cuthbert, who has appeared on Maxim’s cover three times before. “I’m not gonna fight anyone about it, though. I’ll accept it with grace. But being on a show with two other beautiful women [Casey Wilson and Eliza Coupe], this is gonna make going to work very uncomfortable. I don’t know, this might be a curse.”
In addition to her TV roles on “Happy Endings” and “24,” Cuthbert is perhaps best known for playing a porn star in the 2004 movie The Girl Next Door.
“To be honest, I think one reason guys liked that character so much is because I didn’t go fully nude. My character really could be the girl of every guy’s dreams, instead of having them see her naked and going, ‘Oh, that’s not my thing,’” Cuthbert, 30, says. “Remember Weird Science? Kelly LeBrock never got naked. She didn’t show you everything. I think that’s why it resonated with more men than it probably should have.”

Elisha definitely has a point by pointing out that she might be desirable despite (or perhaps in spite of) the fact that she didn’t go naked in The Girl Next Door. I almost always find it more attractive when people almost get naked (i.e., wear bras and/or underwear) than when they go full monty in the movies. Is that strange to admit? Hey, I like a good tease.
Now I am certainly (by any stretch) a television expert since I carefully pick and choose my weekly viewing material like a total d-bag. However, if I were to choose my pick for the most gorgeous woman on television today, I’d probably go with Natascha McElhone. I know she’s not widely known in the states, and she’s only on “Californication,” but trust me, she is a stunning woman. Also, Natalie Zea (“Justified,” “Californication,” and “Passions”) is not bad either. Man, I bet Sofia Vergara is really pissed about Maxim’s list this year.

Natascha is certainly pretty, but I’m not seeing “most beautiful on tv” by a long shot. She reminds me of Meryl Streep lookswise. Oddly enough, I think Maxim got it right and in my eyes Elisha really is breathtaking. Definitely a dream girl for many people, though unfortunately she looks like Kiki Dunst on this particular cover.

I agree. It’s a GREAT show and it’s in serious danger of being cancelled (I don’t have a link, but think I read about it on ew.com yesterday). We need to save this show!! It’s super smart, hilarious and fast-paced, light years ahead of much of what’s out there. Please help!!!

I love Happy ENdings, too! It is the one show I watch every week guaranteed to make me laugh. The whole cast of that show is fantastic!

I am glad she still has a career after the disaster known as Kim Bauer (not her fault, WTF were the 24 writers thinking???). But I think Natalie Zea definitely should own that title. Loved her since Dirty Sexy Money.
Elisha is a pretty girl but I think these things are more determined by agents then anything.

I love Elisha Cuthbert. I’ve become a big “Happy Endings” fan and she’s never afraid to get down and dirty (literally dirty, like with barbecue sauce all over her face), and she has fantastic comedic timing.
She is so endearing and I’m glad her star is back on the rise!
OH and I LOVE that she’s wearing a one-piece on the cover. Not sure how much styling is up to her, but it’s nice that there’s a little something to the imagination.

My first thought was “she’s on TV again?” My second thought was “she’s had work done since 24.” But she looks much better than I remember and yeah, she says nice things so yeah, whatever. Good for her. And I’m getting a Keri Russell vibe from her cover. Very pretty.

I grew up watching Popular Mechanics for Kids with her, Jay Baruchel, Tyler Kyte, and Vanessa Lengies. Such a corny show, and I loveeed it.

Happy Endings is surprisingly funny. She is absolutely gorgeous, altho I had never seen her before watching HE……….She did name some equally gorgeous women. Good pick by Maxim.
As for keeping something on to make it “sexier”, it’s true. A friend old me that if strippers wore gloves then all he would want to see is hands…..

Elisha is very pretty, but I have a girl crush on her costar Eliza. The show hasn’t been quite as good this season, but I hope it doesn’t get canceled.
I think Natalie Zea is really stunning, especially in the first season of Justified. She seems to wear too much makeup on the red carpet though, and she doesn’t need it at all.
I add Kerry Washington, Colbie Smulders, Sophia Bush, Hannah Simone, Rashida Jones, and January Jones (on Mad Men only).

I never agree with all these “Most Handsome” or “Most Beautiful” picks. I figure it’s all rigged by some publicist or who you know. I am still in awe of how that Kate Upton manages to secure two cover photos for SI. Sorry, IMO she ain’t nothing special. I’m convinced she slept with someone for those covers. I work with women with better bodies, who are prettier than her AND have more charisma.
Elisha is a pretty woman, but she has been off the radar for so long (I just remember that one girl next door movie), it makes me wonder about the choice.
That woman with the cheekbones (from “The Truman Show”) is a KNOCKOUT!

I love love love Happy Endings and she is one of the highlights of that show, she’s really great in it. Her character is really ditzy, and it’s hard to play that well, normally it’s cheesy.
If you didn’t know she was on TV again, do yourself a fave and DVR just one episode, or there are a couple on YouTube. It is freaking hilarious. The abbreves will just kill you.

Jane is my favorite! I wish that she would gain a little bit of weight because sometimes she looks a little painfully thin. Like a young Julie Benz. But her and Brad together are my favorite. I really hope it doesn’t get cancelled but its not looking so good right now.

I love Happy Endings, but she’s just cute, not even close to one of the hottest on TV. It’s the best ensemble cast of friends they have had since the TV show Friends. When I see her, I always think of that song Justin Timberlake wrote about her for cheating on his friend with the hockey player and dumping him, What Goes Around.

Natalie Zea’s not bad, as you said, but her skin just looks wrecked to me. She’s only 37, but it looks like she’s sun-worshipped herself into the skin of someone ten years older.
