Earlier this week, Courtney Stodden did a brief interview on the red carpet that kind of summed up her life. It was hilarious, and it suggests that she’s totally over her 53 year-old husband. She was asked by two little girl journalists “what was your big break?” and she scoffed “My big break was my 52 year-old husband. I don’t know if you’re familiar with my story. I was 16 years old when I married a 50 year-old man.” She put the emphasis on “fifteeee” like it was super old, and it seriously is. She may look like a washed-up 45 year-old stripper but she’s still just 18.
The last we saw Courtney she was mocking herself in a strange video in which she adopted an alter ego and claimed she was her own stepsister, Courtland. She expressed disdain for her life, calling herself a slut and saying “I’m from Washington State. I would never move to Hollywood to marry some old, washed up, D-List, saggy-balled actor.”
So here shes is at an LA Fashion show for a line called “Shekeharrahate’s Haute Couture” with her mom, who is clearly the mastermind behind her media career. It really bothers me how her mom is holding her while she’s sitting on her lap. This whole family is incredibly disturbing on many levels. Remember these photos with her dad?

Also, we do shut down comments that bring up conspiracy theories and link to ridiculous sites about it. It’s possible for a young girl to be abused and controlled by her family without it being some huge hollywood mind control conspiracy. But yeah, this is not a normal situation and this is not a girl who is able to make her own choices in life. She also does not look sober in any way.
Update: For everyone saying this woman is not 18 – I confirmed it about a year and a half ago after finding a Facebook source from her hometown. She’s well known there, and her age is accurate.

I know what you mean, but it seems to be reasonably established that she is the age she says. She’s from a small town and people have spoken about being in her grade at school, for example, and going to neighborhood parties with her when she was at various ages. Spoken disparagingly at that. However she looks, I accept that she is the age she claims.

Did you see her on Couple’s therapy? She’s VERY young acting. You could just tell that outside of the whole “sex” side of her, she really doesn’t have any life experience. We can argue about what we think a pedophile is but I do not think we would argue about what child abuse is. Her parents abused her by signing their permission for her to marry a 50 year old when she was 15. Her legal husband is a child molester for taking advantage of a child. I say legal husband because I do not see how else he fits the role. This is heart-wrenching, disgusting, so wrong and I cannot believe there is no one to help/save her. These are the years that are the foundation for her life. What chance does she have? I think the media also have to answer for their coverage of this since she was 15. It is sensationalizing abuse. My family used to hang around a family that was totally rich and, as it turned out, totally fucked up. The mother got the daughter breast implants for a graduation present. And yes, the mother and daughter are bleached blonde/tanned beyond belief. The daughter doesn’t look too different from Courtney and the mother looks like Dina Lohan. They have money so they dress and are styled better, but still in that gaudy, valley-girl, nipped and tucked neuveau-riche way. Anyways, the daughter recently had to have a kidney removed (at the age of twenty-three) because of her use of coke and ecstasy and has been arrested at least once. I commented above that I believe this is all a stunt put on by a woman at least a decade older, who found this to be the easiest way to achieve fame-whoredom in Hollywood.
I’m expecting the charade to be over shortly, and she’ll move into Stage 2 of her ‘performance-life’. There will be a ‘break-away from the cult-like lifestyle’. There will be ‘self discovery’. There will be media assault like we’ve never seen before. She’ll probably drag that out for another 2 years.
Then comes Stage 3 – TRULLY cashing in on her ‘sex-capades’. There will be books, movie rights, etc. There will be ‘protecting other innocents’ campaign. I actually think Courtney’s Mom is worse. I mean, at least Dina had Lindsay pursue a somewhat respectable looking career path that kept her in age-appropriate roles when she was a kid/teenager and encouraged some manner of ambition beyond just being as much of a sex object as possible and posing for Playboy.

@asdfg: I get out plenty, & I don’t feel that the way she dresses necessarily indicates that she’s been abused, I think the way she’s spoken about sex, men, her marriage, & the way her parents have spoken about the those same things indicates that she’s been abused. Her behavior & her parents’ behavior is what I am most concerned about. Obviously I never met her, so I’m just speculating. But as I mentioned above, I have some experience w/ victims of sexual abuse & her (perceived) behavior is a red flag to me. Not her fault if she was. Also, in my opinion, there is a difference between dressing sexy & dressing like a sex toy. It’s perfectly normal for a woman to dress sexy/flirty/feminine/etc when she wants to…it’s an entirely different thing to dress like an object that exits soley for someone to have sex with.

She calls her husband “Dad” and talks to him in a manner of a young child talking to their father. That certainly helps.
There’s her absolute desperation and determination to dress like a stripper. And I don’t mean the fact that she dresses sexy. I mean her absolute refusal to dress in any other way no matter what the circumstances. For instance, she did this video where she keeps complaining about her foot/ankle hurting and refused to take off her stripper heels anyways. And the thing is, we NEVER see her dressed in any other way. Even women who love to dress revealingly and love attention (Kim Kardashian, for example) still every so often head out in a pair of jeans. Not Courtney. Even in the middle of December she will walk around in her bikini outside.
She has no other pursuits beyond putting on a sex kitten act. Even stars who have been sold on their sexuality don’t constantly try to pout all the time and make bedroom eyes all the time. Everything Courtney does revolves around putting out a hyper-sexual image, and she never lets up.
Those are the behaviors of someone who believes their only worth is through their sexuality and a pathological need to be hyper-sexual at all times is a major symptom of abuse.
We never see her with kids her own age, just her creepy parents and husband. She has been isolated from members of her age group for a long time, even before she married Doug. Abusers often do whatever they can to isolate their victims from others and keep them from creating friendships and relationships with their peers.
She takes pictures with her Dad spanking her in public and is happy to do it.
She’s also insanely young to be thrusted into the spotlight like this, and was insanely young to be married to anyone, let alone a man in his fifties. Sorry but such an intense need for attention to the point of doing something like that is another major sign of abuse. Many abuse victims either become obsessed with getting attention or obsessed with being in control all the time. This is especially true of sexual abuse survivors.
And sorry letting your sixteen year old marry a fifty year old isn’t the behavior of functional, nurturing, and loving parents. Even if they were “in love”, a good parent would never let something like that happen.

Anyone who snaps a picture of her, writes an article about her or comments on an article (including myself) are to blame. Her parents exploit her for money and we’re more than happy to comply. I feel sick to my stomach and my heart is breaking after looking at these pictures. That could’ve been me, I was just lucky enough to have been born to a better mother.

Here’s my perspective, for what it’s worth, from some time I spent with a raging headache, unable to read and therefore googling to find out who this young woman is. I now think she knew and knows exactly what she’s doing. While all this may backfire on whatever deeper goal she may have, the reality right now is that if she hadnt married this obscure, although well-thought of, actor, we literally wouldn’t have a clue who she is.
I wil bet she’s been hyper-ambitious from a very young age; maybe she was on the pageant circuit a la Jon Benet, or otherwise involved with activities that brought out the worst in her and her mom. I haven’t read anything about her earlier years, other than seeing a photo of her with her two older sisters.
She was almost 17 when she married Doug, so he’s hardly a pedophile – which is a repulsive term and should be reserved for the repulsive people who earn it. He may be gay, although he was married twice before. He may genuinely like or even love her, or may simply be in on it for an agreed upon share of her/their earnings.
At his age, he may well understand that 15 minutes of fame may still make you a lot of money. I’m not sure if she, at her age, can understand that as well as he can – but she may. She, in a way, has nothing to lose – in 2 years, she’ll be just. 20 and has many years to do, learn, and go whatever and wherever she wishes.
If he does have regard or affection for her, and she leaves him, he’ll be a year closer to 60 every year they’re together. She may be like stars of the past who pushed their way into Hollywood very young, by lying about their ages and never turning down a job, eg, Ann Miller – and many of these women had extremely pushy, horrendously callous mothers.
Courtney, however, either has no talent – or is hiding it very well. Her hair is suddenly white, he makeup suddenly completely grotesque. I don’t understand what the thoughts are of whoever’s strategy this us. The novelty of their union is due to her youth, yet her handlers aren’t letting her look or act young, seeking small, decent acting jobs for her, helping her to make a really good single song and a solid, well-done video for it – it’s like they’re all possessed by the spirit of KMart. If this is her own idea of how to establish her career as anything other than a literal flash in the pan, I believe this is her biggest mistake. Right now, this gameplan is leading her nowhere – which would mean all her ambition and drive, all her time, trouble, and bleach will all have been for naught. Then again, she may know her own limitations, be thrilled that she’s gotten the attention she has, and be laughing at us for our speculations and concerns all the way to the bank.
Yes, this. I do not believer that any legitimate “handlers” or managers want to touch this situation with a ten-foot-pole. It is a PR disaster waiting to happen. I think she is styling herself with possibly some input from Doug. Her mother looks horrified to me, but pretending not to, like there is someone pointing a gun at her just outside of the frame.

We can’t know what’s the truth. Maybe she’s a victim. Maybe she thinks she’s a smart little playa making money the easy way. It wouldn’t been the first young woman on this planet who think they can make easy living looking like a sexdoll.
My question is, are they really profiting that much? I mean, they get attention, but as people like Blowhan prove infamy =/= fortune. Since marrying Courtney, Doug’s hardly worked at all according to his IMDB page and he’s said his agent dropped him. Courtney doesn’t have legit record deal or done any acting work (releasing songs online yourself and one online commercial for a credit website don’t count), they couldn’t even get their own reality show, and not only did her video look hideously cheap, but the quality of her styling has gone down the tubes (and that’s saying something as she’s always had really awful styling). Her extensions/hair styling has gotten a gazillian times messier/cheaper, her make-up looks like the stuff I bought from Claire’s when I was eight (how much do you want to bet her lip gloss is cherry flavore?d) and I’m pretty sure almost everything she wears is some form of polyester/nylon blend. We don’t see them dressing well, or actually working. Just drawing attention to themselves. Every sign points to them only earning attention, rather than money or career status.
So really, how much are they profiting? After a while, whatever money they have will dry up and people will finally get bored of them. Then it’s probably the poor house a la Spencer and Heidi (though they at least were the stars of a hit reality shows rather than just one-season wonders).
So, where’s the actual profit? Because all they’ve accomplished is being the current star attraction of the jackass/creepy freak show. And if they don’t actually make any money, it’s going to get truly hideous fast.
I’m not saying this to be mean. I really feel sorry for her. She’s obviously the victim of a bunch of loathsome fame-whores and their poorly thought out scheme to become “stars”. I just really don’t want to have to hear about this girl shooting her first porno in a year. But it seriously looks like it’s coming to that because there is no sign that they’re making a good enough income to keep themselves out of the poorhouse and reject what’s offered to them for long.

This breaks my heart. SHE breaks my heart. Clearly, she is married to an ephebophile. Clearly, she has been hypersexualised from a young age. There is no way she doesn’t have stuff going on inside her that can/will tear her psyche apart. She is in such dire need of intensive therapy. If I lived in CA, I would offer to treat this girl free of charge for as long as she needed it.

She obviously is regretting her decision to marry Mr. Saggy Balls. What a shame she was (and is still) pimped out by her family who obviously just want her to bring in the money any way she can.
I hope she has at least one good, true friend who can help her out of the mess she is in and get her the help she needs.

Why would two little girls being interviewing her? That’s even more disturbing. I would also like to say I don’t think you should be censoring peoples’ comments unless they get nasty and abusive to others.
She is high and really, really unhealthily skinny. She needs help ASAP. As for her husband, I don’t think he is a predator. From what I saw he seemed to be head over heels with her. In couple therapy the shrink emphasized that he was vulnerable, she implicitly said that he would have never set his eyes on a 16 years old if the parents hadn’t pushed him to do so. I really dislike the way Courtney behaves, and her Chipmunk voice, but I really hope someone helps her. It’s a wild world for a 19 years old.
I don’t know what’s more tacky/disturbing/annoying, her cheap extensions, her red panties showing when she’s sitting (classy) or her Mom creeping me out by the way she’s holding her. And as dycpher1 stated above, what’s with the dark tanned legs and pale face? Doesn’t make sense but nothing about her does.

Here is what the conversation would have been between myself,my 15 year old and this 50 year old male.
Courtney: Mom can I talk to you?
Me: Yes. You can talk to me about anything. However, first get your butt upstairs and wash all that excessive crap off your face. Next, go to your room and put some clothes on. If I ever see you dressed like this again, you will be without a phone and computer for a very long time.
Courtney: But mom there is a man on his way over here to ask…
Me: I said I would speak to you when you put some clothes on. Do you want people looking at you and thinking you are a tramp?
Man: (rings door bell) I am here to tell you that your daughter and I need you to sign this form so we can be married.
Me: (blink blink) If you are actually serious I suggest you get in your car before I attack you. If you ever get within 100 miles of my daughter again I will have you arrested. And when you do get out of jail I will hunt you down and cut your balls off. Now get out!
Very many of us are seriously disturbed by what we see happening to this young woman, but what can be done to save her? Who cares for her enough to give up what they can make from her? Doesn’t need a crystal ball to predict a young, messy ending. Can’t someone help her?
