The tantrum. Oh the tantrum. It’s going to be Beiber in it’s proportion. And then it’s popcorn time.

I don’t know why Kanye is all crank-puss about it–Jay-Z did a collaboration (a horrible one) with Linkin Park. He collabs all the time. He’s like that “best friend” that turns into Gollum the minute you get a boyfriend. “Preciouuuusss. Mine! MINE! MY RAPPER! YOU CANNOT HAVESIES!”

    • Relli says:

HAHAHAHA, LOL that last part of your post made so much sense!

    • Lolly says:

      Lmao!
Monica Q may I ask what you do? I hope your a writer..your posts always have me rolling.
      P.S. Gollum & Kanye separated @ birth?

      • MonicaQ says:

Oh I’m just a dopey computer programmer but I got my degree in literature/history. And then wrote some romance novels so I have a terrible, horrible sense of humor.

  2. Kaboom says:

Actually that is a reason not to buy Dior Homme products. What grown man would want to be associated with that Twilight drivel in any way?

    • Agnes says:

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Is Dior trying to appeal to grown men or 12 year old girls?

      • CTgirl says:

It’s obvious that they are trying to appeal to grown men who sparkle and like being humiliated by little dirty emo chicks. Duh.

    • Christina says:

They’re probably trying to appeal to young men, in the same way that they’re trying to appeal to young women with Jennifer Lawrence.

But I do think some of Dior’s recent ‘spokesperson’ choices have been very dodgy (Mila Kunis? please). Soon enough, it’ll be harder to name a Hollywood star who does NOT have a contract with Dior than the other way round.

      • i'm french don't kill me says:

Tom Cruise, matt Damon, christian Bale, michael Fassbender ,Tom Hardy aren’t the face of a brand

      • Ms Kay says:

        @ i’m french

Thing is Michael Fassbender is fairly new in the Hollywood thing, he is a Hollywood actor, he isn’t a heavyweight yet star wise so his global appeal, uniform power, trend setting, influence and constancy are still on the rise. That’s how the brand endorsement business works, and of course not I’m not saying that he may not have been approached already, as indeed it is up to the actor to be interested and ready endorse a brand.

    • Anname says:

Yeah, how horrible to be the face of a franchise that earned a billion dollars at the box office….

      • Janet says:

Actually, men probably associate him less with Twilight and more with being a ball-less chump who took his girlfriend back after she publicly cheated on him and disrespected him. And guys generally don’t want to relate to that.

    • LAK says:

JMO, but i’ve always thought that RPatz was awkwardly handsome in a way that would get better with age rather than the pretty that is required in teen idols. Similar to how awkward Clooney was in his younger days until he reached 30something and suddenly the awkward fell away. Ditto Alexander Skarsgard.

If you compare him to the guy who played ‘Jacob’ who peaked in the 2nd film. He will never be prettier than he was in that 2nd film and pretty never ages well in men.

      • Janet says:

Lautner is only 21, and he has the kind of looks that will improve as he heads into his late 20s and early 30s. Pattinson, OTOH, has the kind of pretty-boy looks that reach their peak around 20 to 23, and from there on it’s all downhill.

      • LAK says:

You have it completely the other way around.

Taylor Lautner is a very pretty young man. However it’s the sort of handsome that does not age well. Look at Tom Cruise. It’s very much the same thing there.

By contrast RPatz has grown into his looks. He is good looking, but it’s always been a stretch to call him pretty.

we could line both guys’photos year after year ffrom the past 6yrs, and you can see the metamorphosis in RPatz looks vs the frozen in time looks of Taylor. It’s really unfortunate that Taylor’s looks are the kind that are appealing to teens because that will limit his future audience.

I don’t see him morphing into Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp, both very pretty young men whose looks morphed into something more character filled whilst losing some of the pretty.

BTW: RPatz is now 26, i don’t see his looks diminishing as you say.

      • Becca says:

It’s really interesting how people opinions on looks differ. I see Rob as very pretty. He has an unusual look for sure, because of his bone structure, but he’s really beautiful IMO. See him in Water for Elephants. He looks incredibly handsome. I don’t personally think his looks will diminish with age, because he has such striking features. Someone like Taylor, is solely reliant on his physique. Without the buff body and great skin tone, he looks very average. Strong brow, squinty eyes and odd nose, (that sounds harsh, but I’m just trying to illustrate my point). I do agree that Taylor will be nothing special in a few years, the Tom Cruise analogy is a good one.

      • Jenny says:

Dont agree LAK. RobPatz is already loosing his looks. Look at that picture above, THats recent and thats not attractive. He cuts his hair and he is not that attractive at all.

      • melina says:

Rob is a handsome man indeed! But for some reason he is awkward and does not photograph well when he attends public events! That is why his face looks a little weird sometimes! Dior made the right choice thought! He can pull this off!

      • EmmaStoneWannabe says:

@Becca – ITA with your observations on those two.

    • nina says:

The guys who hate twilight to the point of hating him are mostly buying Axe shit at CVS. They chose him more for being young and handsome and famous like past spokespeople they’ve picked.

    • Diana says:

He’s hot and can wear the hell out of a suit, that’s why they chose him.

    • Another Ann says:

Most men’s fragrance is bought by women, not men. And if you asked the average guy who “the face” of a man’s fragrance was, they wouldn’t have a clue, nor would they care. A Pattinson endorsement (if there is one) would be targeted to women who would buy for their boyfriend etc.

    • c'est la vie says:

Good point – plus he’s not a pretty boy any longer – I think he’s aging awkwardly and it will just get worse.

      He’s no Brad Pitt.

      • CTgirl says:

Those awful boneless looking tea pouring hands of RP’s are just creeptacular in the above photos.

      • nina says:

he can pull pretty out of his ass when needed—I remember thinking he was losing his pretty boy looks last summer then he went on promotion for that cronenberg movie and it was like yoooowza-he’s gorgeous again. Think all he needs is to lay off the booze for a tad, get to a gym for a couple weeks and voila-his pretty cheekbones and pout are back.

      • Perplexed says:

@Nina – ITA. The Cosmopolis tour, including Cannes, was my favourite look ever for him, not to mention the killer tux and suits.

  3. Erinn says:

Ugh I love Dave Grohl so much.

And I was traveling home from a mini-vacay with the fiance Sunday, and when I went in to pay for my gas, the guy that waited on me looked sooo much like Robert Pattinson. They could have passed for brothers.

  4. Ooh, bring on the JLaw+RPattz rumours! Dior would probably be extatic if they got together, imagine the pubicity 😀

    • i'm french don't kill me says:

      please i’m going to vomit!

in what world is Pattinson more expensive than Pitt? and i thought he didn’t want to become a brand !

      • Anname says:

That $12 million has not been confirmed, it seems rather high.

And his “not wanting to be a brand” comment was said in 2008. Different time, different place in his career. I think he is taking the George Clooney way re endorsements – make lots of money with them, and then go make the lower budget movies you want to.

      • Amelia says:

It can’t be $12 million. Can it?
If it is, Dior aren’t getting an awful lot of bang for their buck.

      • c'est la vie says:

@Amelia – don’t you mean fang for their buck?

        I agree.

    • Al says:

Me too. If I could meet any “celebrity” (alive or dead) it would be Dave Grohl.

  5. marie says:

what’s the smell “Ode to Hobo”.. I dunno, maybe he’s dressed better since signing, but I haven’t really paid attention.

I think a Timberlake/West temper tantrum throw would be awesome. Think of the entertainment.

I think Grohl is awesome. He’s never really hid his dislike for AI, I think he’s been claiming it since the beginning.

    • Apples says:

Ha! Fans that have gotten photo ops with Pattinson all said he smells, “Really good.” So maybe his I don’t shower jokes were just him trolling the interviewers. He doesn’t really seem to like the press…

    • Lolly says:

I died @ “Ode to Hobo”.
I have an idea for the fragrance commercial..
A morose & scruffy looking Pattinson seats @ a table surrounded by the most decadent & delectable meals imaginable. He however looks @ the food as if its made from cardboard. Just as he’s about to unenthusiastically tuck into it a girl who bears a passing resemble to la trampire walks by with her arms raised to prominently display her armpits which have been sprayed with said fragrance. Pattinson transforms into his Edward character & leaps through the air to devour her armpits. The commercial ends with the Bella wannabe smiling beatifically @ the camera as the tagline “Neither hobo nor vampire can resist..” as the screen fades to black..

  6. Diana says:

The size of that deal should be a testament to how his career is going to the gutter…. *rolling eyes*

  7. Relli says:

Ever since Lainey pointed out how much Sparkles looked like the reconstructed face of King Richard it cannot be unseen for me and I now long to see him in a chin length black bob.

    • Diana says:

Look for pics of the Salvador Dali movie he did; he wears a chi-bob for some of that.

  8. Original A says:

That Dior contract thing came from The Sun, and didn’t a rep from Dior deny it months ago? Anyway, it’s an old rumor & I doubt it’s true. Besides, do people really think he’d get paid more than Brad Pitt for Chanel?

    • Anname says:

He did film for 3 days in New York in December – fan pictures to prove it. And there was a casting notice for extras in a cologne ad for those same 3 days. Everything points to Dior, so it’s more than just a rumor. The $12 million is definitely suspicious though.

  9. Nan says:

Poor little hipster, forced to take $12 mill for selling his soul for clothes add. 😀 😀

  10. bns says:

12 million? Didn’t Brad Pitt only get like $5 million for his Chanel commercial?

    • Original A says:

Yep, it’s very likely BS. I read the article in the Daily Mail and the source was the Sun. Brad got either 5 or 7 million, and there’s no way in hell Pattinson would get more than him.

      • Christina says:

The $7 million Brad Pitt supposedly received (I don’t think we know this for a fact) was for a one-off advertisement campaign for No. 5. Pattinson’s deal would be for a longer term series of advertisements, probably for more than one product line. That said, I take all of these figures with a pinch of salt. I find it hard to believe that Pitt got $7 million for those crappy ads, but I suppose anything is possible in la la land.

      • pepper says:

I read that Rob’s contract will be for 3 years. If that’s the case then 12 mil for 3 years is believable. Why not?

  11. Tiffany :) says:

    Love Dave Grohl!

    • lucy says:

      Dave Grohl is awesome personified.

Could not agree more with his remarks about the mediocrity of music talent shows and the drag it is that those contests are Christina Aguilera factories.

  12. carol says:

is it weird that i cannot see his sex appeal?

    • Jane says:

Then I am weird too. I have never gotten the fuss.

    • Anname says:

For me, it’s all about the personality. Watch his interviews over the past few years. He is very funny and grounded, and seems to have a brain in his head. The fact he didn’t go off the rails during the insanity of 2008-2009 gives you a good idea of who he is. His interviews never bore me, and I am interested to see what he does with his career from here. He definitely doesn’t fit the mold of teen heart throb, a very good thing imo!

      • Janet says:

I liked him a lot until he hooked up with KStew. He seemed to be fairly balanced, grounded, not at all full of himself and generally a nice, decent individual. But a guy who would hook up with someone as common and trashy as she is — and take her back after she publicly humiliated him — is a guy with low self-esteem and no self-respect, IMO. He could do so much better and he just threw himself away on someone who has the morals of an alley cat.

      • Anname says:

Janet, I don’t get that relationship either, but his decision to stay with her doesn’t change my opinion of him. I actually respect the fact that he is going to make his own decision, and not give in to outside pressure about how it will hurt his career. I hope she understands what he went through and is is still going through because of her “indiscretion”. And, obviously he knows her better than we do, so hopefully she is a better person (that learns from her screw-ups) than the image she projects to the public.

    • Becca says:

I’m going to go out on a limb. I’m thinking a lot of people’s dislike for Rob here, stems from their dislike of KStew. I seem to remember he wasn’t so harshly judged, before their supposed reconciliation.

      • pepper says:

I think your take is right. He has generated lot more hate because of his association with her.

Only time and his success in the new movies he has lined up will alleviate that imo.

      • Becca says:

I agree, he’s young and still has a lot to prove. But the hatred for Twilight, seems to have blinded a lot of people to the great things he’s trying to do. Rob’s working hard, with some great directors, trying to work on his craft. I’m really not understanding people’s dislike for him here. He’s actually pretty well liked amongst the general population. He’s a funny guy, with a very down to earth mentality. It’s bizarre to me that he gets so much hate on this site.

    • mom2two says:

You are not alone. I fail to see how this guy is attractive at all. He does absolutely nothing for me.

  13. lucy2 says:

I don’t find him at all attractive. Why do these companies always hire guys that don’t seem like they smell too good?

From the Ann Curry link: “When Robin Roberts left ‘Good Morning America’ a month later to get treatment for MDS, Curry asked NBC if she could tweet a note of sympathy for the ABC co-host. NBC said no, afraid she was trying to aid the enemy.” Holy crapola. That is awful.
Also, Lauer totally used that “talk show” with ABC to leverage his Today show contract. Turd.

    • SusieQ2 says:

That Ann Curry/Robin Roberts thing is sickening.

NBC/Today executives are completely and utterly despicable and Lauer fits in with them perfectly.

  14. Dahlia Verlaine says:

Bwahahahahah! Kim’s dress is flipped inside out. There we have the proof – b!tch has lost her sight. That’s why she looks so hideous lately.

  15. Amanda says:

I think being the spokesman for Burberry would suit him better.

    • Tig says:

I agree with you- him with Burberry would have been a match made in heaven.

I get some folks don’t like his acting- but he is very photogenic. I hope the ad campaign rumor is true, tho can’t imagine he got $12 M.

    • m says:

Or Gucci since he always looks great in their suits. I dont think he is dapper enough with his personal style for Burberry. Eddie Redmayne has modeled for them so I cant really wrap my mind around Rob doing it too. Hes just not a Burberry guy.

      • Becca says:

It was reported that Burberry wanted Rob to sign with them a couple of years ago, but he declined the offer.

      • Tig says:

Burberry was several years ago- per the rumors, this was right after Twilight broke out, and he was purportedly cautious about doing anything that would smack of trading on his looks.

Totally agree with Gucci- the man can wear the hell out of a suit.

  16. lucy says:

Dior is extremely short-sighted and dim for hiring some pop culture hack as its rep. Especially this unappealing guy.

    • Christina says:

Agree. Dior seems to be going distinctly down-market with a few of its recent ‘spokespeople’. Ditto Chanel. I thought these were supposed to be luxury Parisian brands, not Hollywood blockbuster tie-ins?

  17. Zelda Fitzgerald says:

He’s so unbearably unattractive. And who is Dior trying to appeal to? Men hate him and the women who are into Twilight can’t afford Dior (and most are still single!) Walmart is more their scene.

    What rubbish.

    • Claire says:

It’s all about a look, not who the guy is dating. When he’s styled for a shoot, Rob looks incredible. He has a really high fashion look that’s very current. If the ads are sexy and glam, they will appeal to women of all ages. After all, it’s women buying for their men Dior are trying to attract here. By the way, you might want to check out GQ and Esquire. He regularly makes best dressed lists on male centric fashion mags and blogs.

      • Zelda Fitzgerald says:

I don’t know anybody who thinks he’s attractive, photogenic, sexy, etc. Not women, not men. His appeal is limited to those crazy Twihards – very sad women with a bad case of arrested development. And teens.

Neither buy (or more accurately) can afford Dior.

      • Janet says:

@Zelda: I think he’s still quite attractive when he cleans himself up and isn’t standing anywhere in the vicinity of KStew. She looks scruffy and unkempt no matter what she’s wearing and she contaminates everybody around her. But there is no denying he doesn’t look as good as he did in the first Twilight film.

    • Becca says:

You don’t know anyone who thinks he’s attractive? I’m fairly certain there are a lot of people who would disagree with you. I’m not trying to change your mind, but I totally disagree with your comment. Sorry.

    • Vee says:

Me thinks you protest too much! lol
He is undeniably appealing because his look is ‘interesting’. He can do sweet, dorky, ugly even but also sexy, manly and beautiful. His face is loved by photographers and film-makers because of this.

Why so much hate? Jealousy. North Americans are notorious for building them up and tearing them down.
      Interesting visit.
      Back to real life.

  18. Janet says:

What Zelda said. I don’t know who the fashion houses are trying to appeal to, but they’d better check their customer base. Pattinson has no appeal outside of some maniacal Twihards who can’t afford Dior anyway. He’s going to go over about as big for Dior as his slutty girlfriend did for Balenciaga.

    • anna says:

Actually it did well it didn’t just sell at regular price it sold in discount in various stores and the kristen fans bought it over and over for their families. I think I remember reading how it sold out in most stores shortly after it was released and fans complaining because they couldn’t find it anywhere.

      • Janet says:

That perfume probably sold in the discount stores because they couldn’t sell it anywhere else. Balenciaga is a haute couture designer. Why in the world would they use a trashy figure like KStew to market their perfume and why else would they sell it in the discount stores? It’s dragging down their whole brand image. Balenciaga’s customer base has always been the uber-rich who can afford to spend a sh*tload on high fashion, so I don’t understand why they would want to do a one-eighty like that. It doesn’t make sense.

      • Zelda Fitzgerald says:

Don’t worry, Janet. Kristen no longer is with Balenciaga. Her campaign was not well received and as soon as Alexander Wang was brought in, Stewart was OUT. She was a terrible fit for Balenciaga. Beyond the embarrassing campaign, their clothes never looked right on her. The whole thing was a disaster and her contract was certainly one of the shortest between design house and actress.

      • anna says:

@zelda I remember after the scandal there was talk of her loosing her contract but it was found to be just a rumor.
@janet lots of brands sell their perfumes at stores like Macys, nordstom, etc.

      • Zelda Fitzgerald says:

Anna – no, she really is not with Balenciaga anymore. She doesn’t wear their clothes, she doesn’t show up to Balenciaga events. It’s done. Has been for months.

Balenciaga is a VERY high end brand. They don’t do discount stores.

      • Janet says:

@anna: Macys and Nordstrom aren’t discount stores.

      • Another Ann says:

You guys are funny. Fashion houses don’t worry about scandals and reputations the way you think they do, and they aren’t targeting the pearl clutching set. Balenciaga’s previous face, Charlotte Gaisbourg, had an affair with Pete Doherty while she was in a long term relationship and also had nude pics revealed. Also, if fashion houses worried about trashy, Kate Moss would not be walking runways for them.

      • TinyPixie says:

Ann – I think you’re confused. Nobody said Balenciaga dropped Kristen because of the affair. They dropped her because Nicolas Ghesquiere was out at Balenciaga, and the brand wanted to go in another direction. As part of that, Stewart was out as well. Her fragrance campaign was a hot mess, from the ads to her promotional events. She wore their clothes terribly. It was never a good fit and the press reception was very very bad. She was out as soon as PPR let Ghesquiere go.

And thank god. Now I can wear my Balenciaga bags and jackets and not have to think of KStew. Charlotte Gainsbourg (who is interesting and impeccable) she was definitely NOT. Balenciaga is not for sullen teens and desperate TwiMoms.

      • Another Ann says:

        Hi TinyPixie-
I’m not confused in the least. I didn’t even mention KStew in my post. I don’t disagree that she wasn’t the best fit for the brand, although she likely did bring it some new publicity.

I did reference some previous comments about why Balenciaga would use “a trashy figure like KStew”, and that’s what I was responding to

Curious about your statement “as soon as PPR let Ghesquierre go” – I thought he was the one that left them? Do you know something different? There were so few details released, it all still seems quite strange to me.

And the ads were a hot mess, for sure. But in fairness, that’s on Balenciaga. Stewart was esentially just a model for that, Balenciaga’s creative team would have been responsible for the ad look/styling/content. I’m still not sure what exactly they were shooting for there.

    • Claire says:

@Zelda obviously you have an opinion and that’s fine, lets agree to disagree. I personally think he’s a very attractive man. I work for a well known fashion mag and many of my colleagues agree. But if we all liked the same type of guy, the world would be a boring place, no? By the way, I’m not a ‘Twihard’, promise.

    • Tig says:

Actually, I like him fine, and not a Twi-hard AND I can afford Dior- LOL! Seriously, I don’t get his annoying clinging to KS- but everyone has a few relationships where you look back and say- what was I thinking???

      • kay says:

Don’t get the big deal, people take back their cheating partners all the time. You are talking about a couple in their twenties, who spend large amounts of time away from each other. Who knows what kind of relationship they have.

      • Diana says:

People are so pretentious thinking, ‘oh since I don’t like him/find him attractive,, nobody does’ it’s cute and everything, but that’s simply not reality.

  19. The Original Mia says:

Thank you for the hot Italian dude. Made up for the picture of foot face. Do not understand why Dior gave him $1 much less $12M.

  20. Perplexed says:

I’m very curious to see these ads.
He wears the hell out of suits with his height and wide shoulders.
Now I don’t know about ‘torse nu’ (shirtless) – we’ll have to wait and see.
Hopefully it will be less along the lines of that bizarre Italian Vogue shoot, and more closely ressembling that gorgeous December 2009 Vanity Fair Testino spread, of course minus the hair as he was almost bald last December when the first installment of the Dior campaign was shot.
He has unusual beauty. You like or you don’t. There is no in between. I definitely like.
Now if he could only keep better company (not sure if this is correct English). But I digress.

    • Tig says:

Hi- think Bruce Weber (sp?) did the first VF spread that was his alone- agreed, that was gorgeous. Pretty sure that Testino shot KS for Vogue- and give the devil her due, she looked great.

I also agree that the Italian vogue shoot was a hot mess- so fingers crossed for a Bruce W shot ad!

      • Perplexed says:

Yes, of course Weber. Thanks for spotting this. I was never into Twilight, but I remembered him from that shoot when all hell broke lose last summer.

  21. dee says:

What in the foot face hell..

  22. B says:

I hope Rob makes his own decisions regarding his image. At the beginning Kstew was dictating the direction of his career. “don’t do this Rob, don’t like that…we are way too hard core for them”. But now I feel like, he is going for a more grown up, cleaner image. Leaving Kstew will instantaneously clean up his image but if he still stays with her, it’s good that he doesn’t talk about her at all. Doing business with Dior is a great idea.

  23. Crystal says:

I can’t handle his eyebrows. Lord. I can’t handle his whole face tbh. Does this dude have a good angle? His face always looks like a foot in a shovel. Kristen is a better person than me, that’s all I’ma say.

Dior has been a hot mess for a while so this doesn’t even surprise me. I wouldn’t buy dirty bath water from him but there are plenty of twi-moms that will eat this up. Maybe he’ll puchase some acting lessons for himself and the plank of wood he bangs with all that money. It’s not like he’s gonna spend it on clothes or deodrant.
