Is it just me or is Henry Cavill morphing into Robb Stark in this GQ UK photoshoot? Henry covers the May issue, and while some of the shots are rather lovely/sexy, there’s an inherent vanilla-ness about it too. I suspect that’s partially by design – it’s not like you could get someone like Michael Fassbender to play Superman, you know? Superman NEEDS to be vanilla. He needs to be the personification of everything wholesome and good. He can’t give you “I’d like to have filthy sex in a closet” vibes. As for the Robb Stark thing… right? He looks SO much like Richard Madden here. As for the interview, Henry doesn’t talk about his hot sex with Gina Carano (unfortunately, although that would make him so much more interesting). He does talk about the possibility of taking on another franchise role though (full disclosure: these quotes might not be from GQ UK, but they are new).

Henry on the possibility of playing James Bond: “What a wonderful challenge to follow up Daniel Craig. He has set the bar so high.”

On playing Superman at this point in his career: “I’ve just got more experience as an actor and a human being.”

His Superman suit: “I don’t know what kind of material it is. It’s a very compressed, sort of elastic-y type of material.”

How he prepared for Superman: ”My goodness, a lot of preparation went into this role! I chose which material I wanted to draw from and that was basically the source material, the comic books. ‘I didn’t want to draw from previous TV shows or movies because those are other filmmaker’s interpretations of this character. ‘There’s an honesty to Superman and the want and will do the right thing – that’s all I tried to portray. I just thought – go to the source material, read some stuff in time for the screen test and provide an honest, straightforward, humble character.”

No pressure: ”There’s the opportunity to feel a lot of pressure, but I try and avoid that because the one lesson I’ve learned is I’ve done all the work now. ‘There’s no need to do anything but just work hard and strive towards victory. If I let pressure play a factor, it would be a detriment to my work and my personality.”

Are there really any rumors about Henry taking over the James Bond role? Daniel Craig has signed on to do two or three more, so we’re talking about advancing that casting rumor like five or six years. I dislike when actors talk like that – I understand that they’re probably being asked a direct question, but I feel like they should just say, “Well, I haven’t been offered anything and Daniel’s got the role now, so what’s the point?”

But! Did you know there are rumors about Henry and 50 Shades of Grey? I think the “rumors” were started by Cavill fan-girls, and plus… he’s just not Christian Grey-ish at all. If Man of Steel is a hit (and I think it will be), he won’t even have to consider 50 Shades.
