Khloe Kardashian covers the June issue of Cosmo UK. It’s a decent photo shoot, although the cover is kind of meh. Khloe has lost weight recently, and she’s been playing around with her look and I have to say, she’s looking really good, right? Khloe is everybody’s favorite Kardashian, probably because we sense that she’s not really a Kardashian (allegedly). Anyway, Khloe talks about diets and workouts and fame in her interview:
Battling self-esteem issues: “I probably thought I was prettier before I entered the spotlight because being compared to somebody else every day does sort of beat up your spirit and soul. It’s made me stronger. I’ve gained another level of confidence. I’ve always known that I’m not Kim and I’m not Kourtney – I’ve always been OK with that.”
On her body: “I don’t care what size I am; I care about how I look. If my jeans are tight and I have a little muffin top, then OK, I have to cut down on the carbs. I don’t expect to be a size 2 [a UK size 6] and nor do I want to be. I’m 5ft 10ins and I like being curvy.”
Weight fluctuations: “After my father died [when she was 19], I gained a lot of weight, and then I was in the spotlight. I was quickly criticised for not being a cookie-cutter sister like Kourtney and Kim. I lost about 30lbs before I did Kourtney And Khloé Take Miami [in 2009]. I was feeling so good about myself and I was still so critiqued. I thought, ”Oh, my gosh, if I’m not good enough now…” And that’s when something clicked in my brain: I have to do whatever is good for me…I feel that I’m healthier [now], but I don’t think I’m prettier thinner. I understand why so many people in this industry have eating disorders or want plastic surgery, and I’m proud I’ve done things the healthy way.”
Fertility struggles: “I just wanted to be, ”Hey, let’s have a baby,” and we would just have one. Kourtney did. I wish that was the way for me. But it won’t be. I’ll have to take hormones. I do want to have a baby, but I don’t feel the urgency to have one this very moment.”
She throws shade at her mom: “I’d never manage my kids. We gang up on Mom and that has to be so hard. Now I’m getting older I feel sorry for her rather than resent her. Once my mom told me I was gaining weight, but she was talking to me as a manager, like I was ruining a brand deal. It’s hard to understand that and it’s more hurtful when it’s coming from my mom, but Kim is definitely her favorite. It doesn’t bother me. They’re so similar – they could be the same person.”
On Kanye West: “I think Kanye [West] knows how to deal with Kim really well. Kris [Humphries] wouldn’t even talk to us. I love that with Kanye we have that friendship. Because when you’re with one of us you’re with all of us.”
The sisters have said that about their mom before – that Kris Jenner plays favorites and Kim is her favorite. Which sucks. I’m saying that as an only child who sometimes got jealous over my parents paying attention to the dog. Kris is such a bad mother. I hate to say that so bluntly, but there it is. When you look at it that way, it’s kind of a miracle that Khloe has turned out relatively normal.

I feel like I’ve read this interview at least a thousand times before. It’s like when mags interview a tall, not-considered-skinny-enough ‘celebrity’ they are required to put in the standard ‘I’m not a size 2 nor do I want to be’.

Probably so! Kim is one thing, but having to deal with Kris would be a deal breaker.
That line really stood out to me too. It’s like she’s saying don’t expect any privacy in your relationship or something. While I completely understand that it’s important for your family and friends to get a long with your spouse, it’s not the be all end all to a relationship.
kris is a horrible mother. some parents do have a favorite child but they certainly should never vocalize that to their kids or anyone for that matter.

I agree. I also love how she’s always ready to give her mom shit and criticize her. She reminds me of Brooke Shields who was always suffocated and repressed by her mother/manager. She finally broke free from her mother managing her and Khloe should also. Brooke’s mom was an alcoholic as Kris is often accused of being.
By the way, I think Khloe looks just like Beyonce in the bathing suit pic. Cover her mouth and her face/hair look just like her.
I wonder if Khloe would even be able to get work without her mom and the kartrashian association? I not saying this just to be mean because I like Khloe the best but I always get a feeling that the only reason the cameras and the money behind it are interested in Khloe and even khoutney is because they are sold as a kartrashian package.
Of course Kim is Pimp Mama Kris’s favorite, she can whore her out for the most money!!
I have never been a big Kardashian fan but I’ve always liked Khloe. She seems fairly normal, and, as a taller chick myself, I know how much it sucks being around petite women, even if your slim you just look enormous by comparison!!

Kris’ favoritism toward Kim isn’t the least bit surprising. Kim is exactly like her (even in the looks department), & we all know how much Kris loves herself.
I feel her on the weight issue, it really is a double edged sword. I use to be slightly overweight, about 148 pounds at 5 5′ and people were always taking digs at my weight, especially my muffin top. I think my lowest point was when my friend photo-shopped a photo of me in a bathing suit, so I would appear slimmer, that really ticked me off. I lost 30 pounds in the course of two years through circuit training and now people love to tell me to eat a sandwich or how I am too thin, even though I am not considered clinically under weight. I realized at the end of the day people are always going to talk $hit when it comes to your weight, no matter what size you are, so I’ve made a conscious effort to quit taking digs at others, even if they’re a Kardashian.
If you are not overweight by the bmi – then expect the whole world to be screaming at you to eat a sandwich. If you are one fraction of a pound underweight by the bmi, expect to be carted off in a padded van any day now. Fat is where it’s at, apparently.
This comment actually made me LOL. As someone who has battled with her weight for years, take a seat and let me tell you all the hilarious and wonderful memories I have from being overweight. Such a joyous and happy time! “Fat is where it’s at…” bitch, please.

@HotPocket – I hoped you dumped this frenemy of yours who did that potato shopping. That is not a friend. You deserve to be around people who accept you for the way you are and not trying to make you feel bad. My sister and best friend is 5’10 and I am only 5’4″ and our other sister is 5’3″ and she always felt like a big giant even though as you said she wasn’t big it was just being around us that made her feel that way. We never ever looked at her as different. We did not act bratty like Kim does to her younger sister, which is disturbing in itself because I always think the older siblings are supposed to be nurturing to their younger siblings not the other way around. In fact it was years later only looking at photos of us that I am able to see our significant height diffrence and to this day I don’t feel short because all these years with her I always felt like I was the same height as she was. It is kind of hard to explain that feeling of being the same person practically. We aren’t twins but I think we share a similar bond that twins and other close siblings share.
In regards to Khloe, I feel bad for her because she stated that it is hurtful that her mom favors Kim and even says it. When it is obvious from the many seasons of the show I have watched that Kim is mean and very demeaning to Khloe. Kim puts her down all the time. And now Kim is posting lustful photos of her very tall little sister Kendall about how she is obsessed with how beautiful and tall and skinny Kendall is when I can’t help but thinking that Khloe is tall why no envious photos of her? I know that sounds petty but it is obvious that Kim is showing that the younger, prettier, and skinnier sister is somehow better. When Khloe says Kim and her mom are the same person that is what I have been saying all along and if you watched the wedding episodes it really looked like Kim and her mom were getting married to each other. All the activies they did together and the discussions were things a bride and groom should be having.
I didn’t dump that frenemy of mine, we are still friends, but I had a long talk with her about how that is never OK. This was several years ago, we were both 20 when this incident occurred, but I told her I didn’t understand her insecurity with my weight when A) I didn’t feel bad about it B) she was heavier than me when I was at my heaviest and C) Her Photoshop skills are terrible. Needless to say, we didn’t speak for awhile after that. I agree TG, from what I have seen on their show, they all put down Khloe and I sympathize with her because she looks fine! There is nothing wrong with how she looks. Women can be so cruel to each other when it comes to looks, especially when they’re comparing you to someone else.
Annette- I completely agree, the second people view you as skinny, they scream at you to eat something and if you are slightly above your BMI index, well then, get your a$$ on a treadmill. You can’t win for loosing when it comes to weight.

Re Kim being Kris’ favorite prized pig, I think it’s cause Kim’s the only one who doesn’t challenge her about her decisions & choices. Kim’s like a well trained lap dog. She does as she’s told. Khloe & (to a lesser extent) Kourtney have more spirit
Yep, PKM and Kim is the same person because both are sociopaths. I doubt that either of them have the ability to feel shame ever, that’s why Kim released the sex tape in the first place and PMK was smart enough to edit and take the really offensive stuff out and then releasing it again. Kourtney is the only one who I believe has any education at all. The rest didn’t bother to graduate from high school. But none of them is any better than the rest they all lie and grift and use sex as a means to become rich.
I give PMK a lot of credit. Nobody is talking about Khloe’s cancer charity anymore. It got about 2-3 days of press. PMK does love Kim the most though. Kim even looks the most like Kris, even more now that shes pregnant.
for someone who claims that she was bullied, she sure enjoys throwing shade at all sorts of people – she is an endless record about Humphries, and he is not the only one that she enjoys critiquing – my guess is that she has little going on – she just got canned from her gig and her husband is too busy in the girlie bars.

I think because she is the one that is most liked that it has given her back her confidence she lost from all the harsh critiquing about her figure. I like Khloe, but I do wonder about the baby thing. First she was trying solid for a couple of years, desperately wanting one, now she’s in no hurry to do the IVF. I wonder if things with hubby are a little strained right now, so not as in a rush to have a baby. I could see that if she was still on X-Factor and focused on that, but I think she’s off.
I think she is just saying it isn’t a focus right this second so that the headlines about her being desperate for a baby don’t keep coming every week.
I’ve had a couple friends go through this They start out wanting a baby, a year goes by without getting pregnant, they panic, they try everything, and still no baby. After that, they try to take a step back for a bit. It’s mostly just an emotional response bc it is so hard to go through infertility as a woman

That moment she’s talking about when her mom got on her for the weight gain was when I started to feel for her and the first time I read anything Kardashian related. The Daily Mail wrote an article about it and I couldn’t believe the headline that her mother made her cry like that. But sure enough, there she is, ripping Khloe a new one for making the brand look bad. How do you do that? Could you ever separate the feelings you should have for your daughter from your duties as a manager? In that same vein, how many managers would be anywhere near as aggressive with clients as she is with her daughters/because they’re her daughters? I still think all the dead-eyes ‘Dashians are worthless a-holes. It feels like we’re never going to be rid of this family, so at the very, very, very least I thought I could feel sorry for one of them. Especially since passive-aggressive snipes at her mother and sister and going on about her weight are pretty much all Khloe seems to talk about. So the real Khloe isn’t as sympathetic a figure as the TV Khloe (I’ve never watched a minute of the show) or it’s concocted as part of her image? Please tell me Kris and the rest are indeed as awful as they appear to be though. At least that part is real, right?

The Kardashians would do anything to lose weight, they are not the bunch that is naturally thin and that is fine except when most of your career is mostly based on your OUTER appearance, it comes with a hefty price. Adele doesn’t want to be skinny and she doesn’t care either. Thus, I’m tired of all these interviews and vows of confidence AFTER the person has lost a significant amount of weight and will probably continue to lose more if they can.
I’m scared that there will be a new generation of Kardashians parading around in the future…….
I love the way she looks. I think she is super cute and the best Kardashian. If I were born in that klan I would hope to be the black sheep like Khloe. She seems like a cool girl.
