Worst restaurant owners from Kitchen Nightmares start epic flame war

Spoilers for Kitchen Nightmares’ finale, which aired last week, follow
Last week I saw a story on the front page of Reddit titled “Craziest Restaurant Owners in Kitchen Nightmares History (US). (Gordon Ramsay actually walks out for the first time).” (That thread has since been shut down.) It led to a link of the show on youtube, the finale this year, which showed a small Scottsdale Arizona restaurant called Amy’s Baking Company. The owners, a husband and wife, were cursing out a customer who dared question why his pizza hadn’t arrived after an hour. It got worse from there. The husband, Samy, was caught taking the tips of one of his servers, claiming he paid her hourly and had the right to take her tips. Samy and Amy argued with customers constantly and admitted they had gone through over 100 staff in a year. At one point Amy fired a server, on camera, for daring to ask “are you sure?” about an order.

I should have given more information about Kitchen Nightmares at the intro, but that episode was so fascinating I had to share. It’s a Fox show which involves famous British chef Gordon Ramsay going into failing restaurants to help them revise their business practices, menus and decor. I prefer the show Restaurant Impossible on the Food Network, with chef Robert Irvine, as he’s more collaborative with the restaurateurs (although he’s certainly harsh). Ramsay can be argumentative and abrasive, but I’ve never seen something like this before.

Anyway once Ramsey came in to Amy’s Baking Company the sh*t really hit the fan. He only liked Amy’s desserts and basically sent everything back. Amy could not take feedback at all and kept arguing with him and insisting her food was good. She didn’t seem “sane” exactly, and talked very quickly and loudly. By the end of the show the dysfunction got to be too much for Ramsay and he told the owners he couldn’t help them. It was the first time he’d walked out on a restaurant in the show’s history.

Well it gets better. After the show aired, the Facebook page for Amy’s Bakery blew up. Amy and Samy just could not hack it and went off on everyone. This isn’t the first time they’ve done this – if you check their Yelp reviews from years ago they personally attacked reviewers who left negative reviews. (Their yelp has since exploded with fake reviews and people posing as them.) In fact Amy spoke on camera about the “haters” online, blaming them for her business problems.

So of course people started trolling these two online, with Reddit mocking them and people posting negative comments on Facebook. They went crazy, as was expected. (Screenshots via Huffington Post and Eater as they’ve since deleted these from Facebook.) Amy’s “kids” that she refers to below are her cats.

The best part? They’re now claiming their facebook was hacked. Look at those facebook postings. Amy writes in all caps and Samy is all lower case. These two should not be running a restaurant or dealing with the public in any capacity. It’s possible their facebook was hacked, and I do believe that someone started a fake twitter account for them the day before the show aired. I think those posts on facebook are real, especially since Samy was insulting and harassing people on Yelp back in 2010. Oh and Redditors found that Amy is a convicted felon, she used another woman’s social security number to get a credit card back in 2001.

Part 1. 3:40 into this video for the argument with a customer.

Just saw this on DListed and could not stop loling…this is crazy!

  2. Marianne says:

    Wow.

They think they’re getting the last laugh, but I think its safe to say we will when they go bankrupt soon.

Also, Im curious as to when they started this restaurant. If it was after 2001, then I’m really surprised she got approved for a loan to start her business considering she committed fraud.

    • Marie Antoinette Jr. says:

My understanding is that the husband is loaded. He has spent at least $1,000,000 on the restaurant.

    • Celebitchy says:

Her husband paid for everything, he’s rich apparently.

      • fabgrrl says:

What?!?!?! you mean she didn’t marry him for his looks?

      • Talie says:

I guess that explains how they can throw out so much food and just toss customers out before they pay.

      • hazeldazel says:

oh and they admitted afterwards that they buy the desserts from other people (which she lied to Gordon Ramsey about). So the only thing Gordon liked… wasn’t her cooking. LOL!

    • Lindsay says:

Opened in 2006. They must have spent all his money if 5 years later you are committing identity theft.

I watched the first minute and they yelled at people “never come back here again,” she intentionally made a pizza super spicy and said “I hope it hurts him” referring to a customer, he said “Chef Ramsey is coming here to tell the people how the food is good here.” It’s insane.

      • Hollz says:

        @Lindsay – the fraud was in 2001, not 2011

      • Mairead says:

There are unconfirmed rumours that he is connected to crime as well. He made an allusion to being mafioso. It would explain how they are still in business after 6 years and spending so much money on something which has a “patchy” reputation.

Pubs and restaurants used to be a favourite reinvestment opportunity for paramilitary organisations here, before they got into things like building private nursing homes. Allegedly.

  3. smee says:

I usually take what I see on KM with a grain of salt (ta-da!), but that episode was insane.

Amy is bat-shiz crazy – I think the Botox reached her brain. I am SHOCKED that no one has kicked the ass of her Simon-Bar-Sinister-looking-husband yet.

    • DreamyK says:

These bat shite crazy owners are STALKERS! heh heh

I was totally reading the Yelp reviews last night. More entertaining than any TV show. Holy hell are these people crazy mean. Never have I seen any establishment go on the attack over bad reviews for serving customers overpriced frozen pizzas and “repackaged” desserts that they bought from someone else LOL. Seriously: they wanted PROOF that those people that had eaten there, and left poor reviews, provide their dinner receipts ??? As if anyone would want to keep a receipt that reminded them of a horrible dining experience.

    • Lady LaLa says:

Simon Bar Sinister, lol. Perfect description. Also, those beautiful desserts were bought elsewhere…

    • VioletCrumble says:

Teehee! DreamyK, I was just thinking that with those faces, they’d do well to keep away from ovens and open flames…

  4. gillie says:

I watched it on youtube yesterday after hearing about the flamewar on facebook. i was just horrified. but also really impressed with ramsey’s very calm demeanor. really, they got off lightly.

    • YuYa says:

I think Ramsey had PTSD from the whole experience and wanted to just run away from all of the crazy.

    • ahoyhoy says:

I noticed that too. He started his normal harsh stuff (like the ravioli announcement), but I think their CRAY-ZAY genuinely alarmed him and he quickly pulled back. They looked almost homicidal over every. little. thing.

      • Andrea says:

Yeah, some people are saying that it might be fake, but the complete change is ramsey demenor tells me it might not be. Also, they were already,in the news one a few years ago over yelp.
Ramsey might be a total asshole.sometimes on tv, but its its schtick. There are episodes out there were he’s complety nice, as other commentators pointed out.

And sorry for the weird punctuation and bad spelling, my phone is being really weird and I can’t seem to type properly.

      • gillie says:

you know what youre getting when you invite gordon ramsey into your kitchen: a former pro-footballer with a huge attitude and a great amount of skill in the kitchen. you don’t get your a$$ coddled, for sure.
i’m pretty sure when samy started in on which of them was a gangster (WTF?!!)GR said no mas.

      • lin234 says:

lol He was about to keep going but then he noticed her EYES and stopped cold.

I watched a few episodes of Hell’s Kitchen When GR was making a name for himself in the US and had to stop because of all his yelling. I’m amazed this is the same man.

EDIT: They made a new FB page. Not sure if it’s real or fake: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Amys-Baking-Company-Bakery-Boutique-Bistro-Page/304584339673227?hc_location=stream

One of the FB posts: WE ARE NOT CRAZY! YOU ARE ALL THE CRAZY ONES! We are beautiful sane people who have all of our dreams right here accomplished din this business. NOT YOU NOT GORDON RAMSAY NOT ANYONE CAN CALL ME CRAZY! You are all little internet punks who don’t know what good food is!! YOU DONT NOW HOW TO EAT!

        Sounds like them?

    • Nerd Alert says:

It’s pretty difficult to make Gordon Ramsey look like the calm one. I mean, he knows his stuff but I stopped watching that show due to the constant yelling. Still like Master Chef though.

I definitely on-demanded this episode last night with my bf and bros after hearing about the meltdown, and I went on facebook simultaneously. The comments on their page from viewers are freaking hilarious.

  5. Nemesis says:

Whoa, that’s a whole lotta crazy right there. I guess there really is someone for everyone and these two nuts found each other.

  6. Devon says:

This is why I don’t like the US Kitchen Nightmares. They only cast nutjobs. The UK version was WAY better. The restauranteurs and chefs actually seemed to want the help and listened to Gordon. It’s a shame that he’s continuing with the US version and not the UK one.

    • AlexandraJane says:

YES! the UK version was great. The US seems to be an audition for Crazy!

    • BeesKnees says:

I love the UK version too! A couple years ago, a place here in Baltimore called Cafe Hon was on the show. People actually called in and tried to submit the restaurant on the show because the owner went to court and trademarked the word hon and people went crazy about it. There were facebook page flame wars and people protesting on the sidewalk for weeks. Their business took a hit so they allowed Gordon Ramsey to come and film the show. I had friends who got tickets to the grand reopening, but from what we gathered, the beginning part where customers are complaining about food and service was stocked with actors. I think A LOT of the theatrics on the US version are staged. I also know a place that was featured on Restaurant Impossible and apparently there was a lot less staged moments on that one.

      • Relli says:

        That episode was hilarious!

      • Ms.Smurf says:

I saw that episode. The whole issue with trademarking the word “hon” was that the whole town used the word in their marketing, as it was a term of endearment. They all used it in their businesses, and to each other, and then some crazy woman trademarked it…so yeah, they were pissed.

    • claire says:

I’m a huge Gordon Ramsay fan and pretty much watch all of his shows. I like both the US and UK version of KN. But omg, the difference is outstanding! The UK version is like watching a documentary while the US version is like watching WWE.

  7. Jennifer says:

People need to boycott that restaurant so that the owners’ are forced to resign. Maybe (it’s very possible she won’t) then she will get the message.

  8. Marie Antoinette Jr. says:

This woman is mentally ill. She’s got problems and needs help. I think the old guy is just a dumb ass with rage issues but even he should realize she needs to get out of that business and onto some meds before she does something truly regretful.

    • annaloo. says:

She’s not mentally ill. She’s delusional and enabled in her narcisstic bubble by that awful husband of hers. She actually needs a good old fashioned slap upside the head!

      • TrustMeOnThis says:

        Narcissism is a real diagnosis.
And being delusional actually counts as psychosis.
Call it what you want, she is SCARY NUTS.

      • Marie Antoinette Jr. says:

She’s not cognizant of reality. She has no concept of how she’s coming across to people. It’s obvious she thinks she’s the only sane person on the face of the earth, AND she thinks everyone is out to get her.

If that’s not “mentally ill” then what is? ๐Ÿ˜‰

I kind of feel a little bad for her. I watched it a few times and near the end I’m pretty sure I saw some fear/confusion come across her face for an instant. But she quickly recovered and started talking about God.

        She needs help.

    • Nicole says:

He’s a “gangster” who steals tips. She’s nuts but i’m thinking he’s actually a criminal.

    • Nerd Alert says:

She seemed to me like she was mentally ill on the episode, or else taking some pills or something. She doesn’t act like she’s okay, ever.

As for the criminal part, she’s actually a double-felon and he’s loaded so he got her out of her second one (extortion), after meeting her in court when she was on trial for fraud.

      • Lindsay says:

Why does she keep committing finically motivated crimes? Not even one like shoplifting which gives some people a high. It’s possible they lost everything they invested.

      • Nerd Alert says:

If they didn’t lose everything yet, I’m sure they will. Gotta learn to quit when it’s not working!

      • Mairead says:

I thought she was taking medication, albeit in powder format and imported especially from Colombia. Or maybe it was just the metric f**kton of eyeliner that was distracting me ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

      • Nerd Alert says:

Eyeliner and lip liner! I really hate the dark lip liner with pale lipstick look, but there’s nothing less flattering than too much eyeliner.

I don’t know what she’s on, but I’ve never seen someone act like that, especially at work. If she’s not on ten kinds of drugs, she probably needs to be.

      • gg says:

        Adderal or meth.

  9. videli says:

I’m going to start using this: I am a great mom to my cat kids.

    • Lindsay says:

Personally my favorite line was ‘We have three sons, they are just trapped in cat bodies’.

      • Thiajoka says:

With her crazy, weird cat eyes, I think I almost believed her. My older cat gets that steely glint in her eyes sometimes and I just leave her alone until it goes away.

  10. DanaG says:

That woman is just not on this planet. The food sucks and they treat their staff so badly. 100 people turnaround in a year is bad but then it’s not them its everybody else on the planet. Hope this place closes soon. People just shouldn’t go there and the staff should quit. I hope they aren’t having a kid it will be very lonely with her as a mother.

    • Sueya says:

There is actually a review on Yelp by someone who was there during filming and was at the tipping table. He said that the food was actually very good, but that the audience did not even see the worst of the behavior. The pre-show yelp reviews also seem to say that the desserts are amazing, but the owners drive away the customers. I gotta say that as bad as they were to their staff, Ramday does similar behavior on Hells Kitchen.

      • Anne De Vries says:

Weren’t the desserts bought and repackaged and served though, instead of made on site?

      • bluhare says:

Anne: I read they themselves admitted it on one of their FB rants. I’m not on FB so haven’t seen it personally but I think Michael D’s got it.

  11. OriginallyBlue says:

I watched this on YouTube last nite. Holy shit! Amy is f*cking nuts. My favourite part was when they wanted the guy to pay for the pizza he never got and never come back.

  12. Jess v says:

You forgot that 90% of the photos of food on their Facebook are stolen from other people, including Martha Stewart.

Also the cakes were bought, not made by Amy at all.

Weirdness all around but thoroughly entertaining.

    • Jag says:

Right! And yet she still insists that the food is made fresh by her daily. smh

      • Andrea says:

Yes! There was a facebook post about how she didnt tell ramsey because he wasn’t american and he wouldn’t understand. Also that reselling and repackaging things was ok. Its not in that list of facebook posts though, maybe it was deleted.

  13. Cirque28 says:

Good golly. If you are over-reactive, hypersensitive, and lack all control over your emotions (some very talented people are like this), you really, really need a business partner and/or domestic partner who can be a sensible, steadying influence. Instead, these two totally egg each other on in their little “beat the world into submission until everyone sees how awesome we are” campaign.

  14. Micki says:

That’s a great example why I don’t watch reality shows if I can avoid it.

  15. MojoRising says:

This is a whole ‘nother level of crazy.

  16. Adrien says:

I’m not sure if ABC will ever go bankrupt. Our society rewards d-bags. They have a novelty factor now so people will troop to ABC just for the experience. Food critics would always slam Guy Fieri’s restaurants but tourists flock to Flavor Town coz of the celebrity owner. Perhaps E is watching the events unfold and is now cooking up a reality series for the now famous (infamous) terrible owners.

    • Vera says:

Sad but true. They got more publicity, and people will flock to them just to see how bad they are. It worked for Kim K…

    • gillie says:

I disagree. I don’t think they’ll be rewarded, mostly because people saw how they treated their staff. No one would say GF’s food is amazing, but at least he treats his people with a modicum of respect. No one wants to see workers treated like the girls were on that show.

      • Sachi says:

        I don’t know about that.

If you look at the timeline of their Facebook posts, they went from 5,000+ Likes (the other FB posts are in a Yahoo! article) to 12,000+ in just one day. You’d think people would boycott and ignore the store, but the opposite is actually happening. People are flocking to the Facebook page wanting to see what the fuss is all about.

It could be people just trolling and wanting to keep up with the crazy comments that were brought on by publicity, but to an outsider looking in, 12,000+ Likes could mean that 12,000 people are actually patrons and customers of this establishment so there must be something good in the store to have so many people Liking it on Facebook.

Amy and her husband would probably take it that way, too.

      • gillie says:

I don’t know about most of those people who liked their page, but i DO know at least eight of them live here in Florida with me, and they’re all about following the ranting for entertainment. I’m guessing a lot of the rest are too. I hope no one eats there again.

      • the original liv says:

Actually Sachi, I think people are liking their page so that they can get updates on their Facebook feed and keep up with the drama and meltdown. I don’t really think that many people are genuinely liking them.

    • Nerd Alert says:

My impression is that since he’s loaded, he’ll keep sinking cash into it until the money’s all gone.

      • MissAsh says:

I live nearby Amy’s though I haven’t been there or even heard of it before. I think it will close quickly – the local news is swarming them and they are acting just as crazy as we’ve seen. I can’t imagine anyone spending their money there instead of the local businesses that are trying so hard to attract and retain customers.

  17. QueenFreddie says:

I watched this last night. OMG! The husband almost assaulted a customer who had been waiting an hour for his food. He asked where it was and the husband got all tough guy and acted like he was going to beat him up. The wife threatened to call the police on the customer.

I felt really bad for the servers. Not only did they lose their tips but they were verbally abused and used. The girl who got fired and was crying…well she’s better off away from there. And Amy & Sammy’s facebook & Yelp are amazing.

  18. MonicaQ says:

I laughed until I cried. I’m not even joking. They’ll get their’s considering how bad they treat service people (who treats waiters and waitresses that badly?! They make $2.12 an hour and you’re going to steal from them and cuss them out? Special place in hell for you).

But the “I AM WONDER WOMAN. AND WE WILL BE PARENTS TO A HUMAN KID, ONE DAY TO.” I died. It’s my status on google+ right now because I can’t.

    • m0nkie says:

They don’t get paid $2.12 an hour. They get paid minimum wage… which is 8$ here in AZ. They say that they do it that way, so if the wait staff has a slow day, they still have a paycheck.

      • Lindsay says:

Waiters that get tipped make $2.12, if they don’t make an average of whatever minimum wage is after tip out the owners are supposed to pay the difference. They never do, but legally speaking they should. Those girls made minimum wage because otherwise the owners can’t steal their tips.

      • wonderwoman21 says:

Minimum wage in AZ isn’t $8 an hour, it is some cents under. I believe it is $7.75 an hour. I make 8 an hour and i know that is over minimum. Servers typically make $4 something an hour plus tips, but i havent ever been a server so i am not sure.

  19. MsLib says:

I don’t usually watch this show because it seems like all they do is curse and yell. But I am in the middle of the two parts and I can’t stop watching! It is like a train wreck. You want to walk away but are mesmerized by what is about to happen. I am sure this restaurant will take a big hit but people might just want to go there, not to eat but to continue watching the train wreck!
Hm…. when is the next plane to AZ?

PS – that ravioli looked like puke.

  20. Gossip Garl says:

I love this show of Ramsey’s..Look it up when i can. Haven’t seen this one yet.It will probably air in a week are so.

  21. MonicaQ says:

Ramsay’s mean but kind if that makes any sense. Watch the show where he’s helping the blind chef who had low self esteem and I wanted to take my eyes back to the store because they were leaking. I like ‘Dinner: Impossible’ but not Irvine’s version of Kitchen Nightmares. Don’t know why. It’s not even that he lied about who he was and all of that either.

  22. kaligula says:

Narcissism and histrionics and lack of education. Painful to watch, but honestly I’ve met so many people like that over the years, in various places all over, it’s about time we see someone like this portrayed as they really are on TV.

One question, though: if they got their own reality show on TV, would you hate watch it religiously? YES YOU WOULD and so would i (>.<)

  23. Gossip Garl says:

God…she needs to kick of like BLOHAN<posting messages likes she's (THEY are?)high on something.

  24. ds says:

I remember only one episode of HK- small veggie restaurant in Paris…that was also memorable. The “owner” decided to be a prostitute instead and Ramsey actually noticed a talented young chef and gave her a start in his restaurant which I thought was great.

  25. Gossip Garl says:

‘HumanKid’…Word of the year..Im glad i had mine ‘HUMANKID’, before this madness starts..OMFG,EPIC!GET UR HUMAN ASS** OUT OF MY BACKYARD<TREE< LAWN..we'll be laughing about this for a long time to come..'got hacked', my as*.

  26. Talie says:

What I couldn’t wrap my head around is how this place has been open since 2006?!!!

Who would go back after the abuse they hurl? In that episode they actually tried to beat up several people!

    • LadyL says:

I’m starting to think the place is a front and just a place to launder the ill gotten gain of her husband. There’s no way a restaurant could stay in business that long w/o at least converting its costs at some point.
The IRS will even begin to deny deductions for a business if its being run incompetently after a period of years unless they can demonstrate their attempts to improve and make the business profitable. It’s a way of weeding out tax shelters and “hobby” businesses.

      • Jess v says:

Than going on tv is the stupidest thing ever.

      • taxi says:

Agree. Sammy said that he’s a gangster so this is the perfect place to launder money.

      • the original liv says:

That was my conclusion as well. After watching that episode, I wondered how they made any money (perhaps that’s why they have to steal tips) and was thinking that it’s probably a front for some money laundering.

      • Mairead says:

        Ditto.

  27. Samigirl says:

I’ve been *dying* watching all of this go down. I love how they are going to contact the FBI about their hacked facebook page. I’m SURE they will make that their top priority.

  28. CaramelKiss says:

Wow. Just wow. They subject their employees to the batshit crazy nonsense and then ASS RAPE them of their tip? WTF? Beyond atrocious. Karma is a bitch and hopefully it will catch up with them sooner rather than later. I live in AZ and there is no way I would ever patronize that place, of course unless I just needed a case of IBS. Eew.

  29. minime says:

OMG is this level of craziness real?!

    • teehee says:

Yes and I think its very common, but not all of those people who are like this come into lots of money and thnk they can run a business and serve customers and be the boss of a company despite their being that inept and incapable…

  30. fabgrrl says:

I watched this last night. Wow! I know that in “reality TV” they use editing tricks to portray people and events in a certain light…but that level of crazy can’t be faked.

I love the way Amy claimed to make the desserts, the only thing Gordon Ramsey liked, only to find out that the desserts were bought somewhere else!

I felt so bad for poor Katie! I think she and all the other fired servers should start up their own, competing restaurant, selling those exact same desserts!

  31. Mimi says:

This show was their iceberg and now they are going down like the Titanic. They were already rotten people but now they’ve been put out there for all to see.

  32. VGS says:

I couldn’t stop laughing watching this! They will gain fame with this story, people will visit their bistro just to witness the craziness lol

  33. annaloo. says:

Narcissism at its worst! And the husband is only enabling it to the Nth degree. WOW

  34. sauvage says:

Gotta love a woman who tries the “God is on our side!” argument.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

Aw you beat me too it ๐Ÿ™‚

Yup, some good God-fearing folk right here.

    • Thiajoka says:

God wants everyone to eat soggy dough. I need to tell my mother that God is on her side because when she cooks, she doesn’t get things crispy enough and a lot of things taste doughy or soggy–at least, for my taste. I like the crispy.

  35. Winnie says:

Wow. I really hope this was all pretend, because I can’t imagine that she is that way for real. Also, where did it come out that she didn’t really make the desserts? Missed that if it was in the clips.

    • Jess v says:

Yesterday on their Facebook page, some super snoopers found out and then she admitted it. But she only lied about it because Gordon isn’t American and wouldn’t understand.

Ok so I spent most of last night following this.

    • Suzy from Ontario says:

Unfortunately Winnie there really are people like that, I’ve met quite a few. Completely narcissistic and cannot take any criticism at all, no matter how nicely offered. These two are pathetic! I can’t believe the old guy taking the tips from the servers. Is that even legal?

I think whoever said it’s probably a front to launder illegal money is right. He was pretty sketchy and it’s hard to imagine people wanting to go eat there!

  36. fabgrrl says:

You guys, shush! Or Amy is going to come on this board and yell at us!

    • colt13 says:

Fabgrrl, the sad thing is that I actually went to tvgasm, the site in which the moms try to defend themselves after the Toddlers and Tiaras recaps just to see if Kitchen Nightmares had this recapped.

      Sadly, this wasn’t.

Also, I am curious about the spelling on their menu. Their internet spelling is terrible.

  37. pretty says:

oh my god! i JUST watched the kitchen nightmares episode part 1 and 2.
wow wow i can not.. and the fact that that crazy woman has a criminal record. LOL.
And gordon ramsay is SO HOT

  38. Palermo says:

This was my amusement last night, watched the videos and died laughing at their FB page

    • gg says:

The first part of the first video gave me an instant ulcer. If I were present when it was filmed I would have been absolutely freaking out. These people’s behavior is completely incredulous. They are dangerously dysfunctional and refuse to see how disgusting their behavior is.

I am still aghast after watching the whole thing. Wow. Please God, do NOT let them have a child.

  39. bros says:

let’s all just hope she continues being a great mom to her cats and those two mentally unstable freaks never procreate to make a ‘human kid.’

    • Thiajoka says:

On Twitter, STFUParents retweeted a tweet from Amy that she might be pregnant and this is why she was so emotional on the show and still is. God help humanity.

      • Lou says:

But it was filmed in december. That’s a loooong time to be unsure if you’re pregnant!!

  40. Mich says:

    Meow mew mew. Purrrrrr. *Hiss*

  41. truthful says:

    They are CRAZY!!!

    I can’t stop laughing!!

  42. Scarlett2 says:

They actually stole tips from their employees. Can you imagine what kind of illegal things these nutcases are doing in regards to their business? I guarantee there is probably some kind of illegal activity going on…cheating their taxes or money laundering. I guarantee they will be closed down in six month and in some kind of legal trouble.

  43. teehee says:

What a vindictive, powerless, and senseless b!tch that woman is. No brains, no talent…. hence defensive up the Nile. If she had anythign besides her OWN image in mind, she’d actually listen to teh complaints and make teh food better— but shes so flippin insecure she can’t listen to a single word anyone says besides “your the queen”. Oh how I hate those kinds of people.

…watched some more. Oh such a joke– I need water! lol Did she never graduate highschool? Cos she sure aint intelligent at all.

    • teehee says:

Ok to be a bit milder, she really needs recognition– at least thats what she is dying to get. But if she cant make a burger then shell never get it– and she cant blame otehrs for that.
Its a never ending cycle- she is desperate for attention and praise but she isnt in the right business and has no brains to be manager and hence will never get what she desires but she refuses to see how SHE sets up her own failure.

      • Thiajoka says:

You sound like a former employee. Spill it, if you are! We want deets! ๐Ÿ™‚

      • teehee says:

No I’m not, ๐Ÿ™‚ fortunately. Thats just what I get out of that short clip of watching her. And I mean no offense to high school students or those who didnt graduate, I just mean I equate her behavior with a child being confronted by their parents for not doing a chore and then claiming that the confrontation is interfering with their ability to study…. LOL thats what this reminds me of ๐Ÿ˜›

      • gg says:

My impression is that she was spoiled completely rotten and unsupervised as a child so she still acts like a brat as she has always done.

  44. Mich says:

Best line of the entire show was at the very end after Gordon left. Something along the lines of “We don’t need him. Maybe (he left because) he gets that.”

    Lol! I.N.S.A.N.E.

  45. Hilldog says:

I feel sorry for their poor kitty

  46. gg says:

Girlene’s not very good with makeup application either.

    • Thiajoka says:

OMG, right! I swear I’m not good at it either, but if I was going to be on t.v., I’d ask someone to help me–make sure I didn’t look ridic.

  47. goodquestion says:

Would someone please draw their attention to this Celebitchy post, so they’ll come on here and yell at us? Please, pretty please….

  48. Relli says:

After reading MK’s post last night I HAD to watch this and it did not disappoint!

OMG, I could not stop laughing AND then I found their Yelp page and while some of the newer comments were clearly trolls there were quite a few comments from past customers who saw the episode and shared their own personal experiences. From what I gathered Gordon’s experience was typical.

well at least they have god on thier side.

  49. DGO says:

CB, thanks for posting this. Made my day!

  50. Kizzy says:

“…these people decide that they’re going to come and f**k with MY life!” – says Amy about customer not wanting to eat the uncooked pizza. LOL!

  51. EscapedConvent says:

They’re threatening to call the FBI because they think their Facebook page was hacked?! Hysterical! The FBI is known to drop everything to deal with ~Facebook crime~…..

Now *this* is some great TV!

  52. Thiajoka says:

I wasn’t sleeping well last night, so was up by 4 a.m.–found the story on D-Listed about this and ended up watching the show. OMG. How have these people not been sued by one of the customers they are attempting to detain? It looked to me like Sami put his hands on one of the men who was trying to leave.

I have never watched a full episode of this show before–I’ve been in places where others were watching it. But I did see Ramsay on Graham Norton once years ago and he just spit out, right there on the carpet, some beer he didn’t like–I find him rude and overbearing. He actually seemed sane on the show with this crazy couple.

  53. EscapedConvent says:

I just watched the whole clip. Wow. Are we sure this is real? Because how could they stay in business? If I went into any place of business, & heard such yelling & hysterics, especially from the owners, I would just turn right around & go elsewhere.

I can’t figure out how Samy hasn’t given himself a heart attack. Did he really demand payment from that guy who never got his order? Hahahaha!

And Amy, the jewel in the desert–yes, that’s exquisite culinary passion all right. This would be comical except that they have knives.

  54. Norman says:

How the heck do they stay in business if the food is potentially this bad, they fire over 100 employees in a year and they take employee tips? I can imagine however people “not myself” going to the restaurant to eat to see if the eatery is really this bad.

  55. Reece says:

The employees need to sue them to get their wages. It’s on camera that they are taking their hard HARD earned money should be an easy case.

  56. Scarlett says:

I just watched the clip and wow. I don’t think they will be closed in six months..I think it will be closed sooner…like two or three. The level of insanity is unbelievable. I’m convinced the woman Amy is mentally unstable and her husband is not far behind. If they are closed for legal troubles, I think something tragic is going. You don’t have the amount of hostility and crazy happening without something terrible happening as a result.

  57. the original liv says:

I’ve never seen kitchen nightmare before – I’m not into shows with lot of yelling and whatnot – but I saw the post on dlisted and was curious. I was only planning on watching a couple of minutes to see if they were really as cray cray as their Facebook posts made them seem and ended up watching the entire episode. OMG! That couple is so delusional! Stealing tips? Is that even legal? I feel so bad for the people who work there. They must really need a job. It’s such a hostile work environment. I think I would be way too stressed out from all the yelling. Do they get repeat customers? Cause really, when I go out to eat, I wanna relax, not hear screaming matches. How are they still in business? Money laundering is the first thing my mind went to after I watched that episode. That also explains why the husband didn’t want to call the police. When the guy who waited over an hour for the pizza he never got wanted to leave, Sammy and Amy wanted him to pay for the food – the food which he never got and never ate – was leaving, they tried to threaten him by saying that they’re gonna call the police. But when Amy said that she’s calling the police, Sammy was all like, “are you crazy? Don’t call the police.” So yeah, I think there some illegal shenanigans going down at the ABC restaurant. It explains why they are still in business. I also doubt that they really got the FBI involved, they’re probably just saying that to scare people.

    • Thiajoka says:

I think that’s where most of us went with this–money laundering. But wouldn’t putting it on a reality show and letting it fly publicly that the business is this shoddily run kind of blow the cover? I just don’t know.

      • the original liv says:

I don’t think they are that smart – to think that they should avoid publicity when conducting shady business. Plus they’ve been on local news and written about online and all that since 2010. Like if they’re so legit, why he avoid the police? Especially when they think they are in the right.

  58. Kristine says:

I live in Phoenix and they are known for their bad behavior. This isn’t a publicity stunt.. They really are terrible people.

  59. Decloo says:

Part of me hopes this is an elaborate hoax. Like everyone else, I found this insanely amusing. Couldn’t quite help feeling nervous when they cut to Amy chopping stuff and there was a knife rack right behind her with LARGE KNIVES. If this is real we are all going to feel terrible if she really loses it and kills somebody.

  60. mugs says:

This season finale outdid everyone, real or not it was freaking hilarious. Laughter through tears .. thank you!

  61. mythrasun says:

This has seriously been my entertainment for the last 2 days. There is nothing more hilarious than watching 2 delusional train wrecks interact with the public. They will forever be laughingstocks in the eyes of the “internets, yelps, redits…and of course the HATERS!!!”

  62. Mourning the Death of Music says:

Why do half expect the next words out of her mouth to be, “I’m not crazy. My mother had me tested.”

  63. Jarredsgirl says:

Ohhh man!!! That video was delicious. There is nothing like watching a crazy person lose their shit.

Amy has some serious mental health issues. She is delusional, for sure. The best part was when she was saying to GR “We have real good reviews that we haven’t written ourselves” bwaha are you sure???

  64. Lou says:

I feel really sorry for the fired waitress, Katy. I hope she found a new job. That must’ve been really awful for her. I mean, I know she’s better off without them, but she’s only young. It must’ve been so sad for her.

  65. Mon says:

Shut up haters! ๐Ÿ˜‰ how deluded are they? It must be horrible to be them, keep thinking that everyone hates them and for no reason…makes some good telly though!

  66. EscapedConvent says:

And the same day this was posted, a Japanese chef was killed in a dispute with 2 customers over a plate of noodles.

    http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/world/japan-chef-killed-after-dispute-over-meal/story-e6frfkui-1226643914184

We have lost our damn minds.

  67. Gio says:

    HYSTERICAL!!!!!!!!

  68. gg says:

Her bragging to Gordon about how “we had the most gorgeous ladies in Vegas sitting at our table” – and that’s why she was attracted to Sami in the first place – Gordon’s supposed to be impressed by this?? Who would find that attractive exactly?

  69. Bread and Circuses says:

I actually feel a bit sorry for Samy. He has a temperament that reminds me of someone I know (also Italian), so I wonder if his bombast and bluster is just cultural. Maybe he’s not a bad guy–just a hothead.

He’s got his own issues, of course. Not letting an experienced waitress input orders is absurd.

But when Gordon asked about it, Samy copped to the fact of the restaurant going through 100 employees in a year. It seemed like Samy would have been willing to work with Gordon if Amy wasn’t in the picture.

But she is, and Samy seems overly (and wrong-headedly) protective of her. Him not telling her that people send the food back, or chasing off customers who complain, is his way of helping Amy maintain her (fragile) calm.

I think the real problem is these two can’t take the stress of running a restaurant. If Amy could make cakes and pies at her leisure, then maybe her food wouldn’t suck. And if Samy could sell her goods out of a whole in the wall that he could shutter when they run out of product, then maybe he’d handle customers fine.

I guess what I’m saying is these two seem to need to operate in their own little bubble-world. The problems arise from their inability to deal with other people.

  70. Molly says:

PLEASE!!!! Please DO NOT GIVE THESE IDIOTS any exposure. They don’t deserve it. They have now hired a PR guy (refuse to name him) who is looking to make bank off of these people and make them a national sensation. We don’t need another Octomom or Kate Gosselin. This woman had a criminal record…. PLEASE stop!!!
