Lindsay Lohan ‘made life hell’ for everyone at Betty Ford, they wanted her to go

I was without power for about 11 hours yesterday, so returning to the crack-addled cracktastrophe that is Lindsay Lohan’s life is both unsettling and heart-warming. It’s unsettling how heart-warming it is. The tides will rise, the winds will change, the thunder will roll in, and Lindsay will always be a cracked-out butthead. Perfection! So, yesterday we discussed how Lindsay crack-hustled her way out of the Betty Ford Clinic (she “checked herself out”) and managed to get the court and the prosecutors to agree to a transfer to a Malibu treatment facility. Now Radar has an interesting story about what was going down behind-the-scenes at Betty Ford:

Don’t expect the staff at the Betty Ford Center to throw Lindsay Lohan a goodbye party. The Mean Girls star was disruptive in rehab and refused several times to attend group therapy sessions, starting a chain of events that led to her imminent departure from Betty Ford to Cliffside rehab, RadarOnline has learned exclusively.

“Lindsay skipped group therapy, she refused to go for several days,” a source told Radar. “She thought people were giving out information on her. That was her excuse.”

But skipping group therapy was just part of the trouble caused by the often-in-trouble actress.

“She was making life hell for those around her every day,” one source familiar with her explained. She was disruptive and willful. Betty Ford is thrilled to see her go.”

In fact, before a deal was struck to let Lindsay finish her 90 days in the Malibu rehab there was talk at Betty Ford of kicking her out.

“That was Plan B,” a source said. “Lindsay was demanding her Adderall, which she was not given. But she kept demanding it and was highly disruptive.”

And contrary to one Web report which claimed the Betty Ford Center is “better suited” to a 30-day program, the rehab is geared for 90-day programs, exactly the type that Lindsay needs.

“It’s very uncommon to have someone transferred in this situation,” a source told Radar.

Betty Ford worked with Lindsey’s team to find her another rehab acceptable to the court and the center was thrilled to be rid of her. But don’t expect another transfer.

“This is unusual enough,” a source said of the transfer situation. “It’s not going to be allowed again.”

[From Radar]

You know what sucks? That no one in Betty Ford was capable of telling Lindsay to sit down and shut up. No one told her that she wasn’t there of her own volition, that this was a court order and if she didn’t follow the rules, behave and stop whining, the clinic would tell the prosecutors and her ass would simply go to jail. I wish, I wish. But all of the crack hustling paid off – Lindsay is now in a facility in Malibu, and I’m sure that there’s some reason she wanted to go to this specific place. Maybe they give “day passes” to go out drinking. Maybe they’ll let her go back on Adderall. Maybe the facility is located in Mother Crackhead’s basement bar.

I wonder if I’ll actually live to see the day that Lindsay gets her act together. It seems more and more likely with each passing day.

    • FLORC says:

We’ll sooner live to see her body give out from the chronic abuse she’s putting it through.

I bet BF did tell her to shut p and sit down, but she doesn’t listen. Sometimes rehabs are just too nice with spiritual healing and some are tough love to the levels of letting the addict detox the old fashion way so the pain is understood. BF seemed to have good middle ground. Having a reputable rehab center pretty uch want to wash their hands of you speaks volumes! She doesn’t want to be helped.

      • Dutch says:

I’m sure BF has to also make the choice of which is more important: constantly fight with the one person who doesn’t want help or turn their attention to the 8 or 9 other people in The Cracken’s group who were actually following the program.

  2. RocketMerry says:

You bet they wanted her gone!

Imagine what sort of horrid crackie tips she was passing out to her fellow rehabbers! She was probably forming a Crackie army, just in case she needed to break free from Betty Ford without the help of her lawyers.

And that, kids, is how the zombie apocalypse started.

  3. jl says:

You can’t help an addict unless they want help. Lindsey apparently doesn’t want help.

I’m sure there are strict rules on how to treat people in such places.

What she needs at this point is either jail or psychiatric lock-down.

She’s going to crash and it’s going to be so epic it’s going to take your breath away. I’m past seeing any alternative anymore.

I guess the saddest thing would be for her to continue this way for the next 20 years or so – God that would be worse than death.

    • Dhavynia says:

She won’t last 20 years. At this point I don’t think anyone cares. I don’t. There are others that really need and want the help and can’t afford it because Of cost cuts. She’s a joke

    • Suzy from Ontario says:

I don’t know why the courts let her get away with this. One minute they are saying she won’t be allowed to switch rehabs and then they agree. That’s a big part of her problems…people keep letting her get away with stuff so she keeps doing it. She needs a strict rehab that lets her get away with nothing and where she is forced to follow the rules and won’t be let out until she follows the program in an appropriate way, even if that takes a year or two!

Otherwise, it’s all just a big waste of time and money all around. The taxpayers money is being wasted on all this court time where she knows nothing seriously bad will happen to her, despite their threats because they always back down.

With her family, and the joke that has been the justice system up to this point in regards to her and her antics, it’s likely she’ll simply end up killing herself. I just hope she doesn’t take a bunch of innocent people with her (like in a car crash or something).

      • gg says:

They need to send her ass to an offender’s Outward Bound course for three months in the woods. 😉

    • Itsa Reallyme says:

I just pray she does’t take anybody out on her downward spiral. It’s sad that her family would rather keep her in her addiction than help her get back to being herself.

  4. Launicaangelina says:

When a client continues to be disruptive and threatens the recovery of other clients, they need to go. People may not agree with her early out at Betty Ford but hopefully, it was done with the other clients in mind along with the other reasons. But, at our treatment facility, they don’t transfer to another facility. They have to deal with the consequences of their noncompliance of the program. For many, the consequence is jail or Child Protective Services do not return their children.

  5. Lucy2 says:

Classic Crackie- be horrible until you get what you want!
They should have told her it’s group therapy or jail. Being disruptive? Jail. Not following orders? Jail.

  6. Sandra says:

Oh, I’m sure they told her. Multiple, multiple times. But she doesn’t strike me as the type to listen to ANYTHING (obviously, since years of court troubles don’t seem to phase her one bit) so I’m sure it’s in one ear, out the other.

The best thing that could happen at this point is for all of us to stop paying attention to her. Out of sight, out of mind and all that crap.

    • gg says:

and out of her neighborhood since she’ll be driving under the influence again.

      • Itsa Reallyme says:

They need to make her drive one of those cars where you have to blow into a breathalizer before the car will allow you to drive it.

  7. Cherry says:

Look, I know LL is a known crack-hustler and a notorious pain-in-the-ass, but nevertheless this story doesn’t sound all that believable to me. I mean, Betty Ford is a rehab clinic. They SPECIALIZE in dealing with addicts and all their manipulative, aggressive and otherwise difficult behavior. Why would Lindsay be so much more trouble than any other addict? Because she has money? Everyone at BF has money. Because she’s famous? Well, did BF not treat lots of other famous people, including Liz Taylor? It’s also a bit strange that there are no specifics about Lindsays alleged difficult behavior and exactly HOW she was making ‘making life hell for those around her every day.’ I imagine most addicts going cold turkey aren’t particularly pleasant people to hang out with. But that’s the point. That’s why you put them in a professional rehab center. But if we’re to believe this story, BF doesn’t sound that professional at all. Take the ‘Lindsay refusing several times to attend group therapy sessions’-part of the story. So make her- this isn’t her choice, it’s a legal punishment. Or decide that it doesn’t matter. But to blab about it to the tabloids and claim that it was one of the reasons they are happy to let her go? Weird. And unprofessional, to say the least.

    • FLORC says:

      Cherry

The story holds water and here’s why. Lindsey being a massive pain could have been disruptive to the other residents there. If she’s a danger to others or inhibits the healing of others she can be removed court order or not. Sounds like this is right.

Many bigger celebs went there. Many people with money went there. Addicts are hard to deal with. All truths. Lindsey strikes me as the type that needs to be strapped to a piece of furniture until she calms down and back in the day that’s how they treated unruly addicts at rehabs. They can’t do that with her and she’s a handful.

Yes, BF shouldn’t have given up, but what were they to do? Risk the health and healing or mental stability of other patients? An addict’s state of mind is fragile enough without a raving lunatic screaming for her prescription drugs and accusing others of caring about her private information.
From my personal experience at a facility for an ed group therapy is helpful and those that wouldn’t attend were always heard screaming up a fit because the people that went to group sessions were beneath them.

      • Cherry says:

Thanks for your reply, Florc. I do see your point, and I can totally see how a patient who’s inhibits the healing of others can and should be removed from the facility. Maybe I shouldn’t have emphasized so much on Betty Ford’s professionality, because the thing that amazes me the most is that LL’s behavior was rewarded with a transfer to another facility. As Launicaangelina pointed out above: they should not have transfered her. It should have been clear to her that her time at BF was a gift from heaven- anybody else would have been sent to jail, and so should she have, after having blown her chance at BF. OF COURSE she was acting difficult if she knew she could win something by doing so. Any addict would have done the same. Hell, my 2-year-old niece can play that game.

      • HappyMom says:

This exactly. We have a family friend who is currently being treated at BF, and I was thinking about how horrible it would be for her if Lindsay was pulling all kinds of crap. The staff is distracted, the focus/drama becomes about her. It’s so unfair to all the other patients-most of whom want to be there, need to be there, and are willing to put in the hard work to heal.

      • FLORC says:

        Cherry
I do agree that BF was a gift from god for Lindsey and should not have been transfered out. If the 30 day/90 day treatment was such a big issue that no one foresaw it’s on them because it sounded like a bs move to me. I think BF is glad she’s gone and will not accept her back again. We’re on the same page.

Her bad bad behavior is so terrible and always reinforced with her getting her way. It’s disgusting. How this isn’t a true punishment like anyone else would get is hard to understand.

I do think back to RDJ and how bad he was for a long time, but eventually became awesome. His rock bottom though is something Lilo keeps crashing into and pretending it’s not there.

      • lucy2 says:

I agree she was probably very disruptive and counter-productive for the other patients. I’m just annoyed that BF/the judge/prosecutor/whoever didn’t toss her in jail if she couldn’t behave.

      • Lucinda says:

@FLORC–The difference between RDJ and Lilo is that RDJ was put in jail and left there. Repeatedly. Lilo isn’t getting that kind of treatment. Different times…

      • bluhare says:

I’m with everyone else in that it’s a shame her bullshit got her out and into another facility, but what nightmare for everyone else. Won’t participate in therapy, and thinks she’s too good for chores and everything else. Plus she probably thinks this other place will give her Adderall. it’s too bad BF doesn’t have an Asshole Wing. She and Brooke Mueller would be in it.

      • Ferris says:

I agree it doesn’t sound like she was acting that bad. It’s rehab. I’ve been in a lock down hospital before. They have guards for when the staff calls codes. Codes are when people are losing there shit, throwing chairs etc…..

      • anon33 says:

Everyone is forgetting HIPAA here. Yes, the information that has been released-PROBABLY BY LINDSAY’S CAMP-does “not seem that bad” either because they can’t reveal any specifics beyond that, or because that’s all Lindsay’s people are willing to say. I’m sure it’s far worse than what is being reported.

    • Chichai says:

This is why she is a crack genius!!

    • Chichai says:

This is why she is a crack genius!

    • ya says:

Completely agree – the staff there should be trained to deal with all sorts of situations involving addicts…. I’m sure there are other people at Betty Ford who don’t want to be there too. Plus even if it is the case that the staff at Betty Ford can’t deal with her, then why would they expect that another rehab facility could?

So I don’t really buy this story.

  8. ReignbowGirl says:

I wish there was a place out in the middle of nowhere, somewhere rural, and far away and inconvenient for paparazzi to get to, and without cell service, maybe Wyoming or something, where this woman could be put for a good year or so learning her true self worth, how not to rely on drugs and alcohol to fix the emotional wounds of her life, and the value of service to others, even if it’s just running cattle and grooming horses. Why isn’t there a place like that? I just think that somewhere deep inside is the real Lindsay Lohan, and even she herself doesn’t know who that person is.

    • FLORC says:

No offense to Wyoming residence, but the further out you get from cell phone service the more likely you are to encounter drugs… meth is pretty likely there.

And there are those wonderful rehab facilities where you heal through bonding with animals, working to take care of them on a farm and simplifying your life. I’m not an addict, but would looove to go! I cant see her wanting to take care of anything since she doesn’t take care of herself.

    • Faye says:

And there’s the possibility that we are seeing the real Lindsay Lohan, and that she’s just fine with herself as she is. She likes this madness.

I remember reading an interview where she said she loved attention and would “die” if the paparazzi ever stopped taking pictures of her. I believe it.

    • Suzy from Ontario says:

I agree! There should be a really hardcore place where the courts can send addicts like this where no one cares if they are celebrities and where they don’t put up with any cr*p. It would save some lives and probably turn things around for a lot of these celebrities would are too surrounded by yes-people to get the help they really need.

      • Brookie says:

@Suzy – They do; it’s called jail. Although, Paris managed to spend her sentence in a hospital wing in jail. I’m sure crackie would fake a seizure to go that route, though.

    • bluhare says:

Faye’s got it. Not enough bowing and scraping. Plus no one moves the cones for her. I bet she does the “I’m Lindsay Lohan” crap all the time.

    • Anais says:

Didn’t she go to a [more] remote rehab during one of her earlier stints and end up sleeping with another patient and causing drama? I’m blanking on the name and date, but I’m pretty sure Lilo has already been there, screwed up that.

  9. serena says:

Well, I get what those poor people at Betty Ford had to go though. Poor them. No surprise they had enough and wanted her out..I would have done the same, there is a level of saturation and once you reach it you can’t bear that person anymore.

    • bluhare says:

Well this certainly vindicates the woman Lindsay assaulted doesn’t it? They dragged her through the mud and she was right all along.

  10. Nicolette says:

This is an epic spoiled brat who has gotten her way all around, so why wouldn’t she expect that to be the case at Betty Ford? She isn’t used to the word ‘no’ obviously, and stomps her Cracken feet when she hears it. She needs some real tough love already. Someone who wont give her a free pass, and who wont be swayed by her drama.

  11. Nanz says:

Well, LL was right about one thing: people in rehab WILL go to the media to talk about her, which is deplorable considering it’s all supposed to be confidential. However, the problem begins with HER. If she followed the rules and kep her mouth shut and her ears open, they wouldn’t feel compelled to report what we already know – that she’s an entitled crackhead. And now I have to go bleach my brain for even THINKING about semi-defending LL.

  12. dorothy says:

The idea that this rehab stint would work was ridiculous. She’ll be out after 90 days doing what she’s always done.

  13. anoneemouse says:

I saw on another website that Michael Lohan gave a statement that the reason Lindsay was transferred was because another patient brought in drugs and Lindsay freaked out and reported them and demanded a transfer. Ha! Here’s what I think:

LINDSAY was caught with drugs and probably threatened to sue Betty Ford so they transferred her.

Hard to feel sorry for a facility that is still probably paying the lawsuit that she brought against them a few years ago….

    • bluhare says:

The person probably brought them in for her and got caught is more like it.

    • Bread and Circuses says:

I doubt Lindsay had any drugs. Betty Ford are good at what they do, and she was locked up in the hospital wing.

That “Ooh, someone else had drugs and I was a good Crackie and reported them” story sounds like classic Lohan bullshit. Deflect, deflect, deflect. Lie, lie, lie. She (and her father) always blames someone else.

    • UsedToBeLulu says:

      – – To Michael Lohan. Bitch please.

  14. grabbyhands says:

I’m only surprised it took this long-I assume the judge/prosecutors made her stay at least 30 days so they could try and save face by making it appear like they weren’t letting her do whatever the hell she wants, like always.

She should just find a another fly by night rehab in NY so she and Amanda Bynes could be crazy, asshole BFFs.

  15. emmie_a says:

celebitchy said: You know what sucks? That no one in Betty Ford was capable of telling Lindsay to sit down and shut up. How do you know what they told her??? I work at an addiction center and a good program will tell someone to sit down and shut up. We will tell them the reality of their situation. We will tell them the predicted outcome if they do not get serious and do the work they are expected to do. There are consequences for not following the rules of the program. It’s my guess that Lindsay was told these things but some people simply do not listen and we cannot make them listen – we can only give them treatment and facts. We all know that Lindsay is an entitled asshole so I’m not surprised this happened.

    • ShaCur says:

My agency is the same way- the good of the other individuals is more important than one combative person. Usually they’re warned the first time but after that we can discharge. Resources are too scarce and precious to those who want to get well there’s little tolerance for behavior that compromises that. but here’s what confuses me about the group issue- to be an effective group there must be a compatible group to start with. People with NPD or APD are typically poor candidates, I’m very surprised they would try and put her in a group considering her history of denial and manipulation, but hey- none of us know her true dx.

      • emmie_a says:

That’s a good point ShaCur. And I agree… at the center I’m at, if Lindsay was acting out or not following the rules, she would have been warned and then asked to leave. In Lindsay’s case that would have meant going directly to jail. So it makes you wonder if this story is true — or, if, as usual, Lindsay received special treatment. I’m upset with the clinic if she did receive special treatment because this was the one time that she couldn’t walk out or quit treatment. The perfect time for a major a wake-up call. If she thinks she can always call the shots, her recovery is totally doomed.
And I thought I had read that Betty Ford was ok’d by the prosecutors because they put together a special 90 day treatment plan for Lindsay. So what happened to that treatment plan? Is Lindsay such a good actress that she was able to fool the professionals? Amazing.

  16. bullpin says:

    This heffa…slowest suicide ever.

    • Micki says:

      LOL

    • Onyx XV says:

No kidding! It really is. I find myself thinking that I wish she would just OD already and get it overwith. Then I think how terrible of me to think that about somebody! The thing is, you don’t need a crystal ball to know it’s inevitable… someday.

  17. Dedrie says:

And, lest we forget she has to have her drugs to help her cope with the vile things she has to do to make money….

  18. jojo says:

anyone else find it funny that a black man gives his lawyer a butt-slap and the judge sees it as disrepectful and gives him 30 days in jail, and a white woman pains ‘fuck off’ on her finger nails and points them at the judge in court (among her many other shenanigans out of court), and doesnt even get punished with 1 day of jail?

The court system is warped, but only if you are a white female can you take advantage of it.

    • iheartjacksparrow says:

Actually, the second ‘word’ on her nail was “u” so the comment was directed 100% at the Judge. She should have gotten jail time for that. LiLo will continue to disrespect the legal system until she faces some serious consequences.

    • bluhare says:

Not sure I agree with every word, jojo, but I sure agree with your basic point.

    • diva says:

Exactly what I was thinking! No way she would continue to get away with her bullshit if she was any other race. That’s a sad truth. The Judicial system is a joke but especially in California.

    • pleaseicu says:

I agree on some of your points about the differences in consequences in general but, as to Lilo and Johnson’s differing consequences this time, I think it was more likely the fact that the celebs in question acted out their disrespect in two different jurisdictions.

In LA there’s the justice system of the real world and the justice system of Hollywood. IMO, if chad Johnson had done that butt slap in the court room of any of Lilo’s judges in Los Angeles I doubt he’d have gotten a day either. Maybe even earn the laughter of the judge too since they all seemed oblivious to or charmed by Lilo’s antics, contempt and disrespect for the proceedings, the courtroom, the judge.

On the other hand, Johnson was in a FL courtroom because of a domestic violence charge and was finalizing a sweetheart deal that I doubt many others get. He screwed himself by answering the judges question and then not shutting up. He continued on and did the ass slap, which is ridiculous all on its own, on top of the going for the attention grab.

If you’re in court on any kind of assault charge, especially domestic violence, keep your hands to your friggin’ self. Don’t go for the extra laugh in general, but especially anything that involves putting hands on someone without their permission and definitely not before the judge holding your sentence in her/his hands, especially before the judge has actually approved your sweetheart deal.

I don’t think it’s mere coincidence that LILO has kept her criminal actions confined almost exclusively to LA county. She knows she has the system totally gamed by this point and the most serious consequence she’ll be facing for anything she does ( short of murder) is the inconvenience of rehab for a couple months or house arrest/a few weeks of community service.

IIRC, didn’t she freak when she thought she might actually be stuck having to deal with the NYC court system for her antics there and did just about everything in her power to avoid that?

If she ever ended up facing some judge in like Texas or Minnesota or Idaho, she’d probably end up rocking back and forth in the corner of the courtroom.

  19. Leek says:

I thought I’d have fun reading her latest adventure but I have to say I’ve accepted that I couldn’t care less about what happens to this A-hole. Life is so precious and she is squandering hers. If she ends up dead maybe she’ll find peace. Good for her.

  20. Lady LaLa says:

I feel sorry for the Patients that are there genuinely trying to get help

  21. Izzy says:

I am at the point where I don’t even give one rat’s ass whether The Cracken ever sobers up. I am now just praying that she doesn’t take an innocent bystander with her on the way out.

  22. moon says:

If LiLo insists on being a train wreck despite multiple attempts to help her, maybe the world should just let her be one. And not care.

  23. swack says:

Here is my whole problem with this transfer. She was told she had to stay at Betty Ford for 90 days and if she could not follow the rules or was kicked out then she would finish her sentence in jail. What happened? Obviously this should show the judge and prosecutors that she is not taking this rehab seriously and should not be given any more chance. BTW, RDJ said going to prison saved his life. They should just let her go at this point.

    • MrsBPitt says:

OMG…I can see it now, LL is not sent to jail, eventually overdoses, and Dina and Michael Lohan sue CA for a few million bucks, for not protecting their little meal ticket with jail time…WOULD NOT SURPRISE ME!!

  24. anti-icon says:

I simply cannot get over how the California Courts are red carpet rollin’ for Lindsey Craken. It was STATED that if she couldn’t complete rehab, for any reason, she would GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL (just like Monopoly).

Craken always gets whatever she wants. (I guess being a manipulative, lying, cheating slut who abuses substances is THE NEW career in Hollywood.) Where I live, Craken would by now be doing HARD TIME.
