Katie Price – aka UK “glamour model” Jordan – has given birth to her fourth child. Katie revealed the news this weekend, saying that she had a rushed C-section eight weeks before her due date because the fetus’s heartbeat was dangerously low. Katie has not revealed where she gave birth, all we know is that she was on vacation in Europe and she says the doctors and nurses didn’t speak much English. Katie gave birth to a boy, and she named him Jett Riviera.
Katie Price has given birth to a baby boy – eight weeks early after a terrifying emergency operation. The reality star welcomed son Jett Riviera last week, weighing just 5 Ibs, 2oz following an emergency caesarian in a foreign hospital.
The 35-year-old reportedly suffered from a potentially life-threatening infection which would harm her unborn child in her womb and Jett’s heart rate fell worryingly low before she was forced to go into labour early. Kieran, who she wed in March, was out shopping at the time and raced to be by her side once she’d text him to tell him the news. But the nurses then banned him from coming into the theatre while she gave birth.
Katie added to The Sun: ‘I was in a state. He’s never seen me like that before. He must have thought his wife had turned into a lunatic… I was sobbing, “I love you, I love you”.’
She also revealed the doctors only spoke broken English, adding to her hysteria: ‘I was petrified but not one of the nurses came to hold my hand.’
The glamour model has previously undergone two caesarians so was familiar with the procedure and worried why she hadn’t been given the usual first injection to numb the area. She tried to halt the doctor from cutting her but he went ahead and she felt the pressure.
Jett has since been taken to a special care unit and is said to be “doing well” in the hospital but is still being monitored. Although Price was also faced with her newborn son being whisked away from her straight away, while she pleaded with them to fetch Kieran.
She added: ‘It felt so unfair because Kieran and I didn’t get that moment couples should share. But more importantly I didn’t even know what my baby weighed or if he was OK.’
Katie was discharged from the hospital on Friday and is staying in a nearby villa while she visits the hospitals in the day times.
It is Price’s fourth child, her first with husband Kieran Hayler. She also has a son, Harvey,11, from her relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke, as well as Junior, eight, and Princess, six, with her ex-husband Peter Andre. It could be up to three weeks until he can be released from the hospital.
The model has made no secret of the fact her current pregnancy has been her most difficult yet and she has gained more weight than when she carried her previous children.
She wrote in her Sun column recently: ‘I haven’t got long to go now. I’ve got a date and I know the sex but no one knows yet – and this time I’m huge. I’m the biggest I’ve been for all of my pregnancies. I’m 11st already, whereas I was not even ten-and-a-half full-term with the others.’
As well as weight gain, Katie has also been very uncomfortable, suffering from anaemia and low platelets. Katie and Kieran wed in front of just a few people in the Bahamas on January 16 after getting engaged after Christmas – just two months after she ended her 20 month on/off romance with Argentine model Leandro Penna.
In February, Katie announced she was pregnant with her fourth child. Her surprise pregnancy comes after failed IVF attempts to start a family with Leandro and second ex-husband Alex Reid. She started dating Alex just a few months after splitting from first husband Peter Andre, but left him in January 2011 after 11 months of marriage. She also had a 20 month on/off romance and subsequent engagement with Leandro, but they never made it down the aisle.
Poor Katie. Katie also told The Mirror that the whole ordeal began when she developed an infection. She said: “I went through a nightmare. The baby’s heart rate was also really low. The next thing I know the nurse is in my room saying get ready now.” It really sounds like this pregnancy was difficult from start to finish, right? She’s only 35 years old, and this makes it her third C-section… it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Katie decided she was done having babies at this point. Little Jett Riviera will probably be her last. Anyway, I’m glad Katie is doing well enough and that Jett seems like he’s going to pull through. Congrats to the happy family.

If her story is true, then I feel bad for her because it sounds like a very distressing experience. However, KP is such a drama queen, the whole thing could have been exaggerated. She makes it sound like she gave birth is a third world country instead of another European country in a modern hospital with experienced, qualified staff who knew what they were doing.
It does beg the question as to why she was travelling so far from home at such a late stage in what was already a difficult pregnancy?
To me, the whole thing has a whiff of uncertainty about it. She was barely in the press with this pregnancy, and she really hid her bump during her public appearances. It’s so unlike her. After her trouble conceiving with her last husband, I wouldn’t be surprised if she used a surrogate this time and the dramatic birth in a foreign (unnamed) country is a cover-up.

She is known to drink during her pregnancy. She already has a special kid because of that. I really hope that for they baby’s sake it is going to be ok and well. Katie has a habit of meeting men then get pregnant/married soon after. I don’t know what her deal is but isn’t this extreme tanning and lip plumping phase over? Gah.
That is so sad – why do these people keep popping out kids they don’t care about? The world is full of enough humans now to the detriment of other species.
Are you sure that Harvey’s special needs are due to FAS? He is a BIG kid & most FAS kids are very small. I’ve always thought that his issues are due to genetic abnormalities
I think Harvey has a genetic disorder. Not to say that she doesn’t drink during pregnancy. I just don’t think that is what Harvey’s problem is from.
I am happy everyone is safe but she is one of those “celebrities” that tell you too much. Her private life isn’t very private.
My friend has a young son called Jett. Her howls of torment yesterday could have been heard from the Moon.

I remember when the E! channel asked the show she had with Peter Andre. I became a little obsessed with them lol! She is a mess but I like she doesn’t take herself seriously. I like her with Peter Andre much better. He seemed like a nice guy and was good with the kids especially Harvey. Wonder where you can watch episodes of their old shows?

what is this thing and why is it being allowed to reproduce?
Here in the states doctors recommend that you stop after three c sections max. I did have a neighbor who had 4 (!) but the doctors were very upset and didnt want to do it, only did because they had no choice. Obvi Katie doesn’t give a shit what doctors say but thy will probably tell her it’s time to stop.
Harvey was born naturally, so she has had only 3 C-sections. Posh has had 4 C-sections and so has my best friend’s wife (who lives in NY).
I thought that as well but then I dated a guy who was going to be an OBGYN and he said that wasn’t true.
Besides Ethel Kennedy had 8 c-sections so obviously you can do more than 4.
Scary! I hope the baby and she are okay.
I think she really looked pregnant. There was an interview not too long ago and she had gained weight and had a face fuller than usually. But the whole foreign country thing is strange. I just hope her baby is ok.
