Last week, people were talking about the Jonas Brothers. Which was weird because I find it hard to believe that anyone really cares about the Jonas Bros that much. But the JoBros were supposed to go on tour, only they canceled it at the last minute. Their rep told media outlets: “There is a deep rift within the band. There was a big disagreement over their music direction.” Which is a pretty hardcore statement, putting it out there that there’s a “deep rift” amongst the brothers. Still, people did think that there was another, secret story to it. Maybe the ticket sales were awful? Maybe they just hate each other? Something like that. Well, Radar/Star has a theory and it’s not good:
When the Jonas Brothers canceled their tour just two days before it was set to kickoff fans were shocked and disappointed, but a new report points the finger at Joe Jonas, claiming the middle brother has a secret drug problem that prevented the band from touring.
“He’s been dealing with substance abuse issues for quite some time,” an insider told Star magazine of Joe, noting that his management team, friends and family “have been begging him to seek help. The tour would shave never survived with how Joe was behaving.”
The brothers — Kevin, 25, Joe, 24 and Nick, 21 — have long maintained a wholesome reputation with fans, including purity until marriage, despite reports in March of a sex tape existing between Joe and girlfriend Blanda Eggenschwiler.
Joe’s rep dismissed the story saying, “There is no truth or validity to the story. It is completely false.”
But sources tell Star magazine that if Joe’s team had looked deeper into the sex tape accusations instead of laughing it off, they may have uncovered his downward spiral.
“At this point, Nick and Kevin don’t care what is going on with the band, they just want to see their brother healthy,” a source told the mag. “They’ve had discussions with Joe about their fears for him and the importance of getting help.”
And it looks like he has — Joe has been recently photographed with drug-addiction specialist, Mike Bayer, who also worked with his ex-girlfriend, Demi Lovato.
“Everyone is rooting for Joe to get healthy,” the source added.
Scandalous, for sure. I wonder why Radar/Star doesn’t name the drug? My guess is cocaine and/or Oxycontin, if we’re just theorizing. Anyway, would this surprise you if true? It wouldn’t surprise me. I’ve always felt like Joe was the one who… struggled. He was the one with secrets, he was the one with more demons than the average JoBro. If it is true, I hope he does get help.

The drug is said to be heroin, supplied by his former girlfriend/dealer. His family is rumoured to have known about it and to have pushed him to do the tour instead of going to rehab.
The poor kid was supposedly sold out by his own whole family for dear old money. Sick.

there’s been many blind items about him. Mostly they say his girlfriend is the root of the problem. If he has a problem, then obviously he needs help. what I find interesting is that they started off as a wholesome boyband. wearing purity rings and all. Interesting.
You should check out what BlindGossip is writing about that. Pretty sure they wouldn’t put such serious allegations out there if they weren’t true.

As for the rest of his family/entourage… Some people aren’t too humane. Eh.
If you read blindgossip.com then you know that it’s heroin and that Joe was the one begging to go to rehab saying that he wouldn’t make it through the tour but his family didn’t want that out there tarnishing their wholesome image thing. His friends (minus the girlfriend) have been trying to get him in rehab for a while now.

Oxy is a gateway drug for heroin…actually, I think its chemical makeup is all but identical. Which is why there’s a heroin epidemic in the US (Corey Monteith!)–it’s arrived on the heels of 15 years of overprescribed pain meds including Oxy, of course.
So it’s not that surprising for a young star to fall prey to heroin–crazy, right? You’d think cocaine, but no.
BG has actually ben saying its heroin. Its a pretty sad blind and even though I zero interest in the jobros music, I hope everything works out. Addiction is hell.

I don’t know if there really is a “middle child syndrome” but my husband is the middle of 3 kids & he is markedly different from his siblings. He has always been more interested in forging his own identity than his siblings & he is a far more interesting person for it

The story on Blind Gossip says heroin and the girlfriend is the dealer. If the story is true the Jonas family are horrible people, I’ve watched a few episodes of the Married to the Jonas sham, eh I mean show (yeah I’m not proud of it)and the mother is always pushing God and the music group. These people are no better than the Lohan’s. They are more worried about the cash coming in than their own children’s health and welfare, I also think the marriage of the oldest one is a sham than they forced on him to keep up appearances. I usually love it when the holier than thou take a fall, but I hate to hear that the health of Joe is the reason. I hope he get’s help, screw his family.

This is what frustrates me about the kid-gloves treatment with which mainstream media outlets treat celebrities. Do the major tabloids not investigate anything anymore? There have been rumors about Joe Bros drug use for a while, no? Judging by the other comments here, I’m not the only one who has heard them. I stopped buying tabloids a long time ago once I, you know, discovered the internet but you would think they would want to be on top of stories like these. Aren’t the major scandals the ones that sell magazines?
For the most part tabloids focus on scandals involving female celebs.Besides Tiger Woods and Charlie Sheen years ago when do you see male celebs on tabloids unless a female celeb is involved.
The Jonas parents are another crazy, money grubbing family that pushed their kids to make money. There are recent pix of Joe with some guy who runs a drug rehab place.

Blind Gossip is bullshit, but Joe has been hitting the party circuit, having the puffy face/skinny body syndrome, and then being photographed with a wellness counselor. Plus, the way he quit the tour….I buy that he has a drug issue (maybe pills or coke). I don’t buy the heroin thing, as people who have full on heroin addictions…it’s usually pretty obvious. I feel bad for Blanda, because from what I understand is that she is just a dumb party bimbo but a lot of the hardcore Jonas Brother fans would apparently make up crap about her and send it in to the low level sites that publish anything, i.e. BG. Anyway, I hope he stays healthy.

What I find most shocking is the extent to which people find blind gossip articles reliable.
The majority of them should absolutely be taken with a pitcher of salt. However, some have indeed turned out to be true. Gawker recently exposed Beyonce and Jays former bodyguard for being involved in some shady business with Bey and Blue. Months before, there were whispers that Beyonce had done Shape magazine in exchange for the National Enquirer not running with the story. There were whispers about Tiger Woods as well before that house came crumbling down. And then there’s this story…
Like so many closeted gay men in Hollywood, Joe Jonas can’t deal with the stress of having to appear to be one thing to please his fans while being something completely different than the facade. He doesn’t have a sex tape with that girl because she was/is his beard. There have been rumors about his cocaine and alcohol abuse for two-plus years now and it is a direct response to his not wanting to deal with his sexual preference. If he would just accept it and move on, maybe a lot of other gay people would realize it’s okay to be gay and no one should have to be ashamed of it or hide it. Instead of getting high all the time to avoid it, he could set a positive example the way Neil Patrick Harris and Lance Bass have done.

There have been soooo many blinds about Joe, his drug abuse issues and his shady girlfriend. Long story short, it seems as though Blanda is only in it for the fame and she’s the one who has been supplying him with drugs. Also, Blanda’s younger sister was rumoured to be the person who first leaked Demi Lovato’s naked pictures.
You certainly imply it in the first few sentences. (That joe is gay)
