[By now I’ve realized that Miley Cyrus didn’t really shave her eyebrows but either bleached them or added some “blonding” makeup (is that a thing?). The brows are back in their brunette flavor again. Meh.]
Miley tried to go androgynous at the AMAs in a white Versus Versace suit with nothing else going on in the chest area. No shirt of course. She posed with her dad, Billy Ray, who has regressed into his mullet. Maybe that awful hairstyle reminds him of a simpler time before Miley was ripping off her clothes for attention. The sunglasses might be an attempt to divert us all from his daughter’s cleave. Enough with my conspiracy theories.
What do you think of Miley’s suit? So many women have worn this exact look so much better than Miley, but that probably won’t stop her from claiming she was the first one to do it. She already acts like she’s the first person to ever wear white. Miley even claimed to be “on a whole other level of sh-t” than other girls because she wears white. Sadly, Miley looks extremely bland (even with the “safe” black pumps) in this suit because trash-and-flash is the name of her game. I’m surprised she went very simple with her hair and makeup too. Oh well.
Miley switched outfits for her performance and donned a high-cut lavender swimsuit to sing “Wrecking Ball.” She stood in front of a screen flashing a creepy, anime-looking kitty kat. Her voice sounded nearly as rough as it did a week ago. So much for vocal rest.
Here are some more Miley tidbits.
* Miley’s home was burglarized last Friday. No snark here. That really sucks, and I wouldn’t wish a home burglary on anyone. At least she wasn’t home during the incident.
* Life & Style magazine published an unsurprising story about how Miley’s mom, Tish, “would never think to stage an intervention” for any of Miley’s behavior. As for Billy Ray’s view on Miley’s drugging and twerking, he reportedly “hopes it’s just a phase.” Preach it, pretend Billy Ray.
* Miley celebrated her 21st birthday on Saturday by kissing her dogs on the mouth (I’ve included photos at the bottom of this post). That’s so gross I can’t even properly discuss it. She also tweeted a photo of “the gayest birthday cake ever.” It looks surprisingly delicious, right?

I believe it was Kelly Ripa who made a similar remark about Clay Aiken years ago.
No, when Aiken covered Ripa’s mouth with his hand to make her stop talking, an obviously pisses Ripa said ”I don’t know where that hand’s been” – which was what I always thought was a placeholder remark so she didn’t completely rip him a new one for doing that. Cause it was her show and all, probably not the best idea for him to do something like that.

Agree. My first thoughts were “ok. Not bad”, then “cool cake”, then “billy ray…wtf. Could you look less like your name?”. He’s a van with shag carpeting and a bag of candy away from an arrest record.
The red carpet outfit was nice – didn’t fit her as well as it could have but it did the trick.
The performance? The painful-looking-cameltoe-creating-leotard-esque thing? It was painful to watch, that might be why her vocals aren’t as good as they could be, it looks like a very uncomfortable thing to wear.
The vocals? Not as bad as usual but when you have singers like Christina Aguilera and Ariana Grande performing, bad vocals will sound worse than usual.
The kitty? Lol, it’s such a tumblrish concept and internet culture doesn’t always translate well onto actual real life stuff.
You echoed some of my thoughts. My first thought in hearing the replay this morning was that her performance showed how mediocre at best her voice is, and how much it looked like she ripped off Katy Perry.
I liked the concept of her outfit. A girl without much cleavage is the perfect person to pull off the no shirt look. But a white tuxedo needs to be cut perfectly, and that one wasn’t. And why is her face so bloated?
I liked Miley’s performance, but Ariana was amazing.
Ariana has a good voice, but it is sooo annoying.

I guess Miley has a check list each day of what to do so she appeals to everyone in order to sell her crappy music. Most artists do not need to do that. Their actions speak louder than Instagramand Twitter posts.

She looks much better toned down like this. On another note, she looked ridiculous during her performance with the huge earrings and plastic bracelets. Also, the giant kitty made me feel very uncomfortable lol… it was weird and creepy.
All the young fans loved it, teens, her age. That’s who she’s performing for, not us, and for some reason young pop fans loved it. I am not that age so don’t get it, but it wasn’t offensive.

She sounded better than usual, but yeah with the big vocalists like Christina, Ariana and Lady Gaga around, she didn’t really stand out (apart fm the poor kitty. And that’s only because I’m a cat person). On the other hand I like her white suit.
Anyway the highlight fm tonight for me is J-Lo. Full of high energy and an overall great performance! And her acrobat, at age 44? Awesome!!
In other pics, I noticed that Billy Ray’s body language screamed “get me out of here” while Miley is fawning all over him. While I think he wasn’t a great parent, I respect him a tiny bit for being accepting instead of alienating her when he surely dislikes what she’s doing.
He needs to be a parent not a buddy.
The jacket isn’t tailored to her body, and it makes her look frumpy. She could’ve punched up this look with a red lip. And threw on some strappy heels.

I LOVE that white suit! And I like it on her too. I especially like it with her hair. I STILL LOVE HER HAIR and just love her for getting it cut like that and keeping it that way for a while! I think she looks cute and not so trashy. I think it’s funny that Le Bron James tweeted that he thinks Miley has a great voice and just wishes she would stop with all the other junk! She still is very young and there is time for her to real it back in before she goes over the edge too much. Or at least I think so!
I loved the white suit. Again, it’s the AMAs, voted-by -the fans-awards and notified they won so they will show up or others are there to present or perform. It’s not the Grammys. There’s supposed to be some edge, not safe, sophisticated gowns, etc.. It’s the music industry.
She looks fresh and nice on the red carpet. Also, she gave a great vocal performance and the kitty gif crying is something the young fans love, so I guess it worked. At least she wasn’t twerking.

That look has been done to death by just about everyone I can think of, so I don’t really have anything to say about it. Her performance was pretty bad– I was playing a bunch of the AMA videos out loud, and my sibling (who isn’t aware of Miley Cyrus) yelled out, “That person sounds like a goat!”
As for giving her dog a kiss, I don’t see anything wrong with it. BH must not be a pet owner, or something? I give my doggies kisses on the snout/mouth all the time, I don’t think that’s gross at all. Finally, her cake looks like it would taste really artificial and way too sugary… but it does make me want to go out and get German chocolate cake with raspberry filling. Mmmm.
I wouldn’t kiss an animal on the mouth, but I do kiss our cat on the forehead, ears, and on top of the nose. He seems to like kisses, and he has a sweet little baby face even though he’s a little over 3 years old.
