It does! I watched the trailer yesterday and realized how boring the show actually is without the dragons.

I guess it’s all a matter of perspective with what you find boring. I find it to be one of the most interesting shows currently on television. It follows the books beautifully.

“Martin’s involvement included the selection of a production team and participation in scriptwriting; the opening credits list him as a co-executive producer of the series.” – Wikipedia

This is why it follows the books so beautifully. 🙂

I just look back on the last season and the only part that had me enthralled were the dragons. The trailer reminded me of all the talking goes on and how a lot of the same continues to happen. I haven’t read the books but that’s good to hear that it does (I wish a lot of things would have followed the books more). Unless there is a dragon or talks of them I typically look at my laptop for the majority of the show.

For me the dragon storyline is when I went to get snacks- not interesting for me at all. I want more winter tales!

      • mom2two says:

I am the same as you daniela. The dragon storyline does nothing for me especially since I feel like the show reduces it to ‘look there’s dragons!’ I would take Charles Dance snarking on everyone in Westeros for an hour over the dragons.
The direwolves get no love from the show, despite the fact that they are useful and each Stark child can warg into them, a fact that is not obvious from the show at all.

I’m just waiting for Joffrey to meet his demise!

    • Kate says:

me too Linda. I hope it’s long and painful. I”m not reading the books until the series is over

Excited for Game of Thrones to start (even though I was getting bored of it last season). And Hannibal at the end of February :).

Not surprised about Hilary Duff getting divorced. Mike Comrie is a huge douche. When he was playing for the Edmonton Oilers, he had an affair with the Tommy Salo’s (the goalie at the time) wife, and was one of the reasons why Salo wanted to leave Edmonton supposedly. Then Comrie thought he was a superstar and made a huge stink about wanting to leave the Oilers. It was wonderfully ironic when he came back to the Oilers to play years later and had to eat humble pie, because he was in fact not the superstar hockey player he thought himself to be.

  6. Side-Eye says:

So freaking excited about Oberyn Martell! This show has already garnered severe side-eyes from me in regards to what they did to Robb’s character and the complete exclusion of others, (as well as Emilia’s and Kit’s ugh acting) so they better get this right. Although, with how little they’ve mentioned why oberyn is even here…

    waoooooo

  9. elkiddo says:

Dragons be damned, the trailer needs more Arya.

  10. TG says:

So are they setting Game of a Thrones up where all the enemies are going to work together to defeat the White Walkers? I love GOT but not sure I will if this is the case. Love Tyrion and hope he never does not can’t wait for Stanis and the red witch to perish. Here’s hoping anyway.

  11. nyx says:

Season 4 looks awesome and I am excited to see the new Oberyn Martell/Pedro Pascal. Sadly, if true to the books, the Khaleesi is going to stay put with her dragons in the other side of the world for at least *spoiler* 2 more seasons. I hope they speed up that plot line.

  12. CarnivalBaby says:

That trailer is awesome! I cannot wait. Game of Thrones rocks till eternity. I’ll really miss Robb though. The man could rock a beard. If you want dragons watch the Hobbitt again. The Desolation of Smaug OWNS the Dragons!

    • mom2two says:

I will miss Richard Madden on that show. He’s my Cumberbatch. I thought he made a terrific Robb. And yes, Smaug puts the GoT dragons to shame. The CGI and everything was spot on with Smaug.

  13. maria says:

I’m getting kind of over game of thrones. Nothing has come close to that first season. My husband reads the books and said after this season the story is kind of all over the place without a lot happening.

    • mom2two says:

I’ve read the books and I have the same feelings as your husband. One of the show runners at Comic Con said he dreads season 5 (the next season) and I believe this is why. With many of HBO’s dramas going off the air (Newsroom, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire) by the end of 2014-GoT becomes their flagship show and it’s heading in some difficult waters. At least True Detective debuted well, but I think HBO would like to use GoT to help advertise their upcoming shows.

  14. Andrew1 says:

Am I the only one that really can’t get into GoT? I tried the books bit I didn’t really like those either, so I guess I’m just not a fan. Cool thing if you like it, I’m just wondering I’d anyone else thinks it’s boring and just meh?

  15. carmelllooo says:

I love GOT, can’t wait for the next season! I really want Jaime and Brianne to get together!! Is that too far fetched??

  16. Ayush says:

The show is good the way it is, for its hardcore fans the trailer was the best thing. I know because I know one person like that.
