    The First Pets are adorable.

  2. Bodhi says:

I love pictures of Presidents playing with their dogs & kids! Its nice to see them being regular old husbands & fathers

    • Zadie says:

See, this is what I don’t get about American politics. It’s so showbizzy. I don’t care what kind of a father or husband my president is. I don’t care if he had affairs. I want him to be a good president.
My country is very Catholic, yet we have an atheist prime minister and an agnostic president. Our First Lady is still employed. I don’t even know how many kids the prime minister has. Those things are not important.

      • SonjaMarmeladova says:

@Zadie, I think we’re from the same country! And I completely agree. I’ve never seen such pictures with any of our politicians.

      • paola says:

        Where do you live? Holland?
I wish we had the same approach to things.. in my country we know all the hookers a politician has been with.. and some of them are in the parliament too.
Sad and f-ing hilarious at the same time.

      • blue marie says:

I agree with you about it being to showbizzy Zadie (but I think it might be more so here lately with the last few presidents)

      • Mel says:

I think you’ll find there are quite a few countries like that in Europe. ๐Ÿ˜‰
        For what it’s worth, I agree – a president’s private life shouldn’t matter much.
Especially considering that hardly anyone is a saint.

      • Zadie says:

I’m from Croatia, and we have a lot of crappy politicians, don’t get me wrong, but their personal life is no big deal. That might be because we have a parliament system, so you choose the party and not the person. Although, when we choose a president we choose the person and not the party, but no one cares about his marriage or kids or whatever. If he had an affair it would probably be a scandal, but he wouldn’t step down, and I doubt he wold lose votes.
There are some negative sides to it. One of our politicians ( quite high placed) ran a person over. HE stepped down from office when he had to go to jail ( not when he ran the person over, not when he was found guilty – when he physically had to go to jail).

      • SonjaMarmeladova says:

Yep, we’re from the same country. Also interesting, our former prime minister was a divorced single mother and head of the biggest right-wing party. Could something like that happen in the US?

      • Bodhi says:

I agree that a President’s social life shouldn’t be part of the discussion, but unfortunately, its just the way it is. America was founded by Puritans &, for as secular as parts of it are, it still retains a LOT of Puritanical ways of thinking

  3. kellyinseattle says:

He’s gotten really gray…most presidents do while in office, 0.

  4. katy says:

I love Michelle’s stance and look on her face. It seems to say, “Really, Barack? We’re trying to take a photo and you’re on the floor?”

She probably wouldn’t say that, and would probably get on the floor with the dogs too, but that just looks like what she’s thinking ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Eileen says:

I saw Mrs. Obama and the two first dogs in the pre ceremony of the puppy bowl Sunday it was all so cute and funny! I think Bo’s side eye in one of those photos is a hoot!

  6. jaye says:

I would really like for the ground Zimmerman currently standing on to open up and swallow him whole, so he’s never seen again.

  7. Rhiley says:

The blind item must be Bey. Say it ain’t “So so so so so.”

  8. Hubbahun says:

“Aaron Rodgers & Jessica Szohr are dating again.” So Ed Westwick’s FREEE?!?!?!? MINE!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  9. Anon2 says:

Hey, for those posting about the Puppy Bowl..those pups had some moves this year! Almost more exciting than the real thing. That one border-collie type pup who pulled at the ref’s socks, faked a distraction at the water bowl and then went for a touchdown…MVP! imho.

    • Kristin says:

Oh God, I LOVE the puppy bowl, ha ha! I watched it too and you’re right: the puppy who pulled on the ref’s socks was awesome!

  10. INeedANap says:

UGH. That tweet from Stephen King.
Dismissing her claims and calling her a b*tch too? Stay classy.

    • FLORC says:

I didn’t see where he called her a B…. Was it in a continued tweet?

Say it aint so King! I can only imagine UMO and UMF are picketing outside his house over this.
Before I was a survivor of assault I was certainly guilty of blaming the victim when they spoke out before It happened to me. And only 1 time they were found to have made it all up.

And I can’t believe I agree with Lena. It’s shameful so many feel like they can’t speak up about it and even worse when 1 false story somewhere in the world makes a terrible crime only continue to torment the victim.

      • mayamae says:

The word he used was “bitchery”, and it’s definitely aimed at Dylan. I participated in yesterday’s discussion on the case, and as heated as it got, I don’t personally feel anyone was flat out critical of Dylan (Mia, yes). How Steven King doesn’t realize he crossed a line, I don’t know.

I think Steven’s been a little off since his accident. I don’t like how he outright criticized Thirty Shades of Grey. Not that the book doesn’t suck, but you don’t see Meryl Streep going around mocking poor actors, or Yo-Yo Ma putting down musicians, etc. Your high quality of work speaks for itself, and you should be a little more gracious to the poor suckers lacking talent.

  12. jferber says:

Love the pic. I didn’t know the Obamas got a second dog. Adorable. I love that whole family.

  13. Mrs. Darcy says:

Michelle and Bo do look a bit jealous! Bo used to have the run of the joint, now he has to put up with this stupid attention hog puppy. Cute pic, I don’t see what the problem is, it is tradition in the White House and they look more natural than some of their predecessors. Though I did stumble across an adorable pic of JFK and a daschund the other day that was pretty perfect.

  14. jc126 says:

    Portuguese water dogs ROCK.

  15. Kath says:

I thought it was Bo getting the tummy rub and Sunny is on the right?

  16. Sunny says:

My name is Sunny (yes, really) and my husband has always gone by Bo (our last name starts with Bo.) It’s a running joke with our families, but it
always surprises me to read about the other, “White House Dogs.”

  17. Sal says:

    So cute! ๐Ÿ™‚
