I’ve been trying to find a good angle or a close-up for Oscar-winner Brad Pitt’s sleeve and cuff, but I can’t find one. We’ll just have to take this on faith. Life & Style reports that Brad Pitt wore a very special gift from his Oscar-winning fiancée Angelina Jolie when he won his first Oscar: she had given him some cufflinks for Christmas one year, and he wore them on Oscar night. Aw.
Brad Pitt put his love on display — literally — for fiancée Angelina Jolie at the Oscars Sunday night. The 50-year-old actor, whose film 12 Years a Slave took home three awards, including Best Picture, decided to wear tuxedo buttons and cufflinks from his beloved’s Style of Jolie line — with famed jeweler Robert Procop — to the big show.
It turns out Angie specifically made them for Brad — and even gifted them to him during the holidays.
“Brad’s specially designed cufflinks were a gift from Angelina one year for Christmas,” Procop says in a statement.
The sentimental gift consisted of tablet-cut diamonds set into yellow gold. The father-of-six also rocked a diamond dress set (buttons, cufflinks and a ring) from Procop to the 2012.
But Angie wears a design from Brad every single day. In 2013, he popped the question with a gorgeous 16-carat diamond ring, in which he designed with Procop.
To summarize: it’s very good to be Brangelina.
As much as I teased Angelina about her Style of Jolie jewelry, some of those pieces were very pretty and I liked that she used so many semi-precious stones. She seems to love topazes. I tend to think cufflinks are kind of a silly gift for most men, because most men rarely have occasion to dress up to the point of wearing French cuffs. But most men aren’t Brad Pitt! Brad Pitt wears a tuxedo often enough to need cufflinks. And it was lovely that Brad wore Angelina’s gift as a good luck charm.
I actually wondered why Brad didn’t bring his parents again, like he did when he was nominated in the past. Maybe he didn’t want to jinx it. Or maybe his parents were like, “Yeah, it’s okay, we’ve already been. You kids go ahead!”

Angie was extremely nice to Sidney Poitier.
Yes. Poor Mr. Poitier was struggling reading his lines. In fact many presenters were struggling with their lines! If nobody can read it just put the damn thing closer!!!!
More than struggling with his lines I think he had trouble pronouncing the winner’s name. But I loved the way Angelina saved his pride by the subtle way she asked him to give the honour to her this time. Classy lady she is.
Yes she was super sweet as was Matthew McConaughey with Kim Novak. Nice to see.
I thought Kim may had been high or something. I felt uncomfortable for her and Mathew was very sweet towards her.
Matthew kept stirring Kim towards the mic. I giggled so much.
Who decided the presenters pairings? They pick some compatible ones. Matthew and Kim, JGL and Emma Watson (if only for the tons of teenage fanfictions currently being written on hipster iMacs). I doubt that the presenters get to choose their partnering.
I was pleasantly surprised to be told that Sidney (and Sydney) Poitier actually posed on the red carpet of Inglourious Basterds with Brad and Angelina. Maybe in that case Sidney&Sydney were there more for Tarantino, but it’s just a nice serendipity to learn about.

I swear he is So hot for 50! I can’t believe it. And yes they were hot together I see the way they always stir at each other in the eyes its So sweet.
My husband is 50 and I think he is smoking hot (and that’s coming from me, who is 36). Not “smoking hot for 50,” just plain “smoking hot.” The age thing we have in the U.S. where at 45 you’re gross and decrepit and it’s astounding if you can still manage not to make people throw up with your appearance is yucky.
Both Brad and Angie are looking good….it’s going to be fun next year if Unbroken is a big player (and I kind of think it may be, considering Universal put out a thing at the Olympics to tie it into Louis’s Olympic past).
Is Plan B the production company for Unbroken?
I dont think Plan B is involved by I do know that Angelina is co-producing it. If the movie wins best picture she will get an Oscar as well.

Brad probably supports personally (i wonder if they have a joint bank account, and to go further who is the “accountant” in the family?–me i’m crap with money so the Mister does it).
the only “family participation” they indulge in is only sometimes making short cameos in each other’s films–baby Shiloh in CCoBB, Brad in ITLOBAH, Viv in Maleficent, and didn’t they say Maddox appeared in WWZ (has this been substantiated)? cameos just come across as “follow ma/pa to the office day”, while financing a movie is a whole different ballgame?
i like that Angie “pitched her butt off” for thos film, so no one could scream about namethrowing.
also, i have a feeling that NBC/Universal is not leaving anything to chance. marketing so early in the year and all that (yes i understand that they don’t have a say in how the Olympics are scheduled; perhaps if it was made several years ago, they’d do an even bigger one for the Summer Games).
anyway, so interested now to see the finished profuct. Deakin’s cinematography is sumptuous.
LadySlippers — No, Plan B Entertainment is not the producing company for Unbroken. Angie’s film about WWII hero Louie Zamperini is financed by Legendary Pictures and Village Roadshow Studios. The studio distributing the film will be Universal.
lower-case deb — A Mighty Heart was the only Angie project that Plan B was involved with. They served as producers on the film along with Andrew Eaton.
I think Unbroken will be there next year. That movie just screams Oscar bait! It looks like a good movie though and Louis Zamperini’s story is inspiring!
WOW- May can’t get here fast enough! Brad helped with some the financing for ITLOBAH and served as the on set photographer. He also was an extra- played a guy who gets shot by a sniper!
‘Unbroken’ looks really good–I really liked the preview that they gave, w/Louis. And yes–it does scream Oscar bait–American story set during WWII about an underdog during the Olympics (against Hitler), and then again in a Japanese POW camp, added to the fact that the man in question is STILL alive….and I really liked ITLOBAH–so I think that Angelina has a good movie down on lock. Whether or not they will nominate her, or any of the cast/crew is another thing.
But the leading man is HOT. He’s old fashioned hot–my favorite kind.

Angie has her own Producing title. I think it is Chivan Productions or something like that. She has Produced several projects not related to Plan B.
I think she has the clout to get her own projects made and such. I think it is awesome how they support each other.
I love Angelina, I’m meh about Brad, but together, they annoy the hell out of me.
This is exactly how I feel. When they appear in public together it just seems like an act.

This wonderful couple is amazing and people can clearly see how much they love, respect, trust and support each other in their personal and professional lives. Despite what some people want to believe they are not together for their “brand” or for their children’s sake – they are together because they want to – nothing less nothing more.
They have managed to not work together at the same time so one of them could be with the children for the past 8 years and only had to break that rule this last year because of Louis Z health issues and the shooting was pushed forward a few months. Even then they managed to travel to see each other every few weeks despite the journey being thousands of miles and several time zones.
They have their various humanitarian causes where Brad focuses more in USA while Angelina internationally. They even have charities set up in their adopted children’s countries of birth and hope that one day they will take over running them.
They have multiple successful collaboration with wine merchants, furniture designers, jewellery designers etc and continue to built their achievements.
Now they are also both Academy Award winners – they sure do have some good karma in their lives and it shows that.
PS: Angelina has done an interview with EW where she says that women are now talking openly about cancer to her and men are taking about their wives and daughters to her as well. That she is touched by the support and well wishes she has received by millions around the world. She also talks about Maleficent as well.

They clearly thrive together both personally and professionally, no doubt about that. I think ultimately Brad and Angie have what everyone seeks in a partner: someone who loves and supports you, accepts ALL of you (even the imperfections), has your back and encourages your talents and interests, and I think that’s what Brad has with Angie and vice versa. I also think Brad realizes just how lucky he is and it clearly reveals itself when they’re together.
This is just too much fawning over a normal couple.
Then don’t read it. No one is forcing you to. I think the fawning is long over-due. This couple have been smeared and vilified for a decade for something they didn’t even do, they and their children have had death threats. They are good people and I say its about bloddy time they get the fawning and the kudos. Way overdue. There can’t be enough of it, to balance out what they’ve been through.

Seriously? Men talk to her about their wife’s breast cancer. Sure….sure they do. I find that hard to believe.
My mom is a breast cancer care coordinator that is well known in her city. Men DO come up to her and talk about their wives’ struggles with the disease all of the time…people are always wanting to double check that they are getting good advice from their doctors and they like to discuss the latest procedures, etc. It can be very calming to talk to someone who has already been through the experience. I am not a brangeloonie, but I absolutely believe this.
(My mom also runs support groups for spouses and family members of those battling breast cancer. It is largely a woman’s disease, but it effects entire families.)

When she got her surgery there were lots of men that came forward sighting her case and talking about what happened to their wives. I recall several newscasters tweeting about their experiences.
I’m confused why women think that men don’t have emotional connections about this cause or situation; and that they would not come up to her and say My Wife/girlfriend or such had this same surgery. We have people on this site talking about their experiences with this issue all the time.
I have done the Susan B Koman walks for the cure. There are husbands, sons, fathers, brothers, friends all out walking supporting the women in their lives.. wearing PINK..
so because you are not aware of this or don’t believe it; because no matter what about her you find the negative, doesn’t make it untrue.

Yep, totally concur with Tiffany. You’d be surprised how and what men will talk about once walls break down. And a fellow survivor often knocks that wall right over.

ah don’t worry, all this sugary coverage the past week, we’re due for something. although the range of what official news outlets can print on them has narrowed, i think. because of her “legislative achievement” and her surgery, etc…
what to write? as far as i can imagine: thinness (and thus dietary issue–hers or the kids/family), adoption, engagement and triangle, and perhaps… just maybe: teenager problems as the kids grow older.
My boss wears cuff-links everyday. I actually see a lot of men wearing them so maybe it’s coming back in style, at least in the corporate suit and tie world.
I think cuff links are a nice gift. My boss wears dress shirts to church twice a week so I got him handstamped cross cuff links for Christmas.
Very nice! I liken men’s cuff links to women’s charm bracelets – It’s almost like a collection. And you always know what to get that person as a gift if you can’t think of anything else.
Cuff-links never really left. 98% of men who wear suits wear cuff-links. They are still a staple Christmas gift. 🙂
BTW all the business girls in Sydney buy shirts that need cuff links to wear to work every week day
