Kristen Wiig shows off a new blonde bob in NYC: too drastic or stunning?

Here are some photos of Kristen Wiig at the Hateship Loveship screening in NYC. She’s wearing a geometric J. Mendel dress that is unlike anything she’s ever worn on the red carpet. Kristen isn’t much of a clothes horse and usually looks a little underdone at premieres, but I think someone hired a new stylist. Did Kristen even have a stylist before now? I don’t know. Those are Alejandro Ingelmo shoes, and they’re just right.

What I really want to talk about here is Kristen’s smashing new hairdo. She has the perfect face shape for a choppy bob, and that’s exactly what she’s doing here. The color looks a little bit ombre from certain angles, but it doesn’t have the “growing-out” look of typical ombre styles. Maggie Gyllenhall showed off new blonde locks this week too, but Maggie went with platinum while Kristen is favoring a warmer shade.

Kristen’s new polished style makes her stand out so much at this premiere. Her clothes are styled perfectly here, and bold red lipstick is a nice touch too. This is a full-on makeover. Kristen comes off as very glamorous and cutting edge, and this whole look works so well for her.

I really like the cut and color of Kristen’s new “do”! I think she is a really attractive woman, but she usually looks terrible on the red carpet. If she has a new stylist, then I vote that she should keep her/him!

Maybe it’s these particular photos, but I think the color washes her out a bit.

  3. Lucy2 says:

Love the cut- the color is good but I think she looks good as a brunette too.

  4. QQ says:

This is better…much better… Now if she could get on that New Stylist…

  5. Kristen says:

She looks terrific! The dress, shoes, haircut and color are all working for her. And she looks happy!

  6. Liberty says:

Looks great! Love this cut, this exact length and color on her.

  7. Mean Hannah says:

I like it – and it’s one of her best red carpet looks! However, to me, the main reason she looks better here is her makeup. The foundation isn’t so matte and she has a bit of shimmery eye shadow to give her a bit of all over glow.

Oh, and she absolutely does have a stylist, but I’m not sure if it’s a new person.

  8. PunkyMomma says:

The cut and the makeup flatter her. I don’t know about the hair color, though. She’s a very pretty lady.

  9. j.eyre says:

I think the hair is quite flattering and I always like a modern take in the classic bob.

I do love that dress. I love that the designer used more muted tones so they didn’t compete with the cut and I really like the leather breast plate look – it looks great on her but doesn’t overwhelm her.

She looks great, but she also looks… different. She used to have bags under her eyes and a skinny face. Does anyone else think she changed her face a bit at the same time?

There is definitely some botox going on, and maybe even some filler. I also think it looks like she has gained a couple of pounds ,and her face looks better for it.

    • Becky1 says:

Yep. Limited Botox, a slight (and needed ) weight gain and maybe a small amount of filler. She looks great. This is how you do cosmetic procedures-nothing drastic and very natural looking. I’m around the same age as Kristen and if I had the money I’d be doing it, too. I’ve had small amounts Botox before and I’d do it again-I wish it wasn’t so expensive.

  11. Longhorn says:

Not feeling the new hair color but I always like what she wears. She a little edgy.

  12. Shijel says:

Ohh, I love this. Great shoes, GREAT dress and great bob too. She looks modern, edgy and yet completely her age. Today I envy.

  13. pretty says:

wow she’s only 40 years old and she looks super old (For hollywood standard)

  14. mkyarwood says:

Hey now! She looks great. I wonder if she got a new stylist?

  15. Alexa says:

TERRIFIC! I find this shorter length to be most flattering to her face, but she’s a pretty peach no matter what.

  16. Lisa says:

I think this might be the best I have seen her look. In the one photo she resembles Chloe Sveginy (sp ?).

  17. GIrlyGirl says:

    The hair is fantastic

not sure about the whole “Space-Girl” dress tho

  18. Pumpkin Pie says:

That’s a great haircut, it suits her. And makes her look so much younger. Dark hair is a mistake in her case I think. But that dress is a no.
I also think that Kristen is very beautiful, talented and funny.

  19. Camille (The Original) says:

She looks fabulous! Love the hair style and colour on her.

I wish she was in more movies, because I find her hilarious, talented, pretty and fun to watch. There are a lot of ‘rom-com actresses’ that I think are terrible, but I think Kristen is a great comedic actress and is perfect in rom-coms, because you know, she’s actually funny and talented.

Don’t really know who this is…but I think it’s cute & from earlier pic it also makes look younger..not that I know her age but I don’t think she all that old to begin with…JMO😊
