that prom story pisses me the F off. yeah, it’s the girl’s fault that the dirty-old-men parent chaperones can’t stop ogling her. she followed the rules on dress code but OH! THE SUPER EVIL SEDUCTRESS WOMAN IS TOO POWERFUL FOR THE MEN TO RESIST!!!

if I were her, I would have noted and made a list of all the dads that were ogling, and put an ad in the paper letting their wives (and the rest of the town) know just how “weak” (and PERVY!) they all are.
“Attention all women of X Town: beware the following adult men. they have indicated that they are unable to restrain themselves around a prom-clad 17 year old female and request that all women refrain from wearing anything that may provoke these poor, weak men into doing something they can’t control” and then list their names.
If a grown man came to me, at a HIGH SCHOOL prom and said that the girl’s dress was ‘too provacative’ for the young men there, then I’d escort HIM out of the prom. The only thing I don’t like about the dress (and it’s just personal preference) is how short it is–I hate when you have to sit down and keep your legs squeezed tight together unless you want some to see your hoo-ha)

I think it is really odd that her dress met the requirements, yet they chose to ignore that. It falls way past her toosh.
Maybe I am jumping to conclusions, maybe I have prejudice against the south…..but I can’t help but wonder if her removal from the dance had anything to do with the fact that this was in West Virginia and she was a white woman with a black man as a date. She made no mention of that in her post, so this is pure speculation.

I read that story and it seems that one of the two organizers of the prom, a woman, had a problem with the girl’s dress from the moment that she walked in, and used the male chaperones as an excuse to kick her out. It’s also worth noting that other girls had similar length dresses on, and she states that many students’ past prom dresses were even shorter, so the organizer’s problem was not the short dress but with the girl. Perhaps she had a problem with a pretty blond girl’s date, her boyfriend, who is black.
I read the story too and at the end it specifically said the girl and her family did not think race had anything to do with it. The boyfriend commented that he does not think the organizers even realized they were together until afterwards.
I love Christian Bale and his family. I also love his little Bat Gut. Sympathy weight for the win!

I heard Oscar Pistorius has been made to undergo a month long psych evaluation because his defense tried to use his life-long mental issues as a defense. It will be interesting to see what they find.

Apart from that, it’s great to see the Bales out and about. See, it is possible to live in L.A and not be papped every single day. Sibi looks beautiful and their daughter looks exactly like her gorgeous Dad.
