I can’t believe Solange Knowles had the stones to show up at last night’s CFDA Awards, given what went down at the Met Gala after-party. I guess it was okay because Jay-Z and Beyonce weren’t there? Still, Rachel Roy WAS there. I think at this point, we can pretty much say with certainty that Rachel Roy was somehow involved in an incident with Solange and/or Jay-Z at the Met Gala party, and Roy’s presence might have been “the reason” for Solange’s assault on Jay. Early reporting from Us Weekly has Solange “avoiding” Rachel Roy at the CFDAs. Yeah, right.
Awkward! Solange Knowles and designer Rachel Roy made a point to avoid one another at the Council of Fashion Designers of America awards in New York City on June 2. Solange infamously attacked her sister Beyonce’s husband, Jay Z, back on May 5 at the Met Gala after spotting the rapper and the designer flirting, a source told Us Weekly at the time.
“Solange yelled about Rachel on Beyonce’s behalf, asking Jay, ‘How could you treat my sister like that?'” the source said. “Solange walked up and started screaming at Rachel. She was making a big scene.” (A Roy source countered that she and Jay Z didn’t even speak that evening.)
On Monday, however, the two kept a further distance from one another. An eyewitness tells Us, Roy attended the event with John Legend’s wife Chrissy Teigen while Solange, who wore a custom Calvin Klein Collection embellished pewter silk dress, attended the event with Francisco Costa, the brands’ women’s Creative Director.
“Rachel looked uncomfortable,” the source tells Us. “They obviously didn’t want to run into Solange and Solange’s people also tried to steer clear of them.”
This is the official story until a week from now, some security video comes out of Solange trying to kick Rachel in the tenders in a hotel elevator as she screamed “SURPRISE, BITCH.” But for now, I guess we can say that Solange “won” this round – her Calvin Klein gown is gorgeous and her body looks great. Rachel’s dress – which I’m assuming she designed herself – is awful.

Well, was there not a reflection on what may have happened regarding the altercation in Kaiser’s post? So now its taboo to talk about the violence that Solange displayed in the elevator because people on her were debating about it?
That’s not a good argument to make. Because some folk were in disagreement about it on the site doesn’t mean anything. Conversations about violence should be discussed. I think what Solange did was wrong. Again, I said I don’t condone violence. That doesn’t mean I can’t bring the situation up. They had a situation, and they got over it, recognizing the most important thing, which is that they are family. I stand by what I said.
By choosing to avoid Rachel, she will be doing herself a disservice by missing out on the good food.

I get a mental picture of Solange jumping out from behind a bush shouting “Surprise Bitch!” and it just tickles me to no end.
I wonder if Solange and Roy had a falling out on their own – they used to be friendly if not friends (Solange was even her Met Ball guest a couple of years ago). If Solange exploded at Roy at this year’s Met, its no surprise that she would avoid her at this event too, just to try not to embarrass herself further.
