Kanye West: ‘The world as a whole is f–king ugly, the internet is f–king ugly’

wenn21464304

Here are some photos of Kanye West in France yesterday for the Cannes Lions Creativity Conference, where he took part in a panel discussion and ended up admitting that he and Kim spent four days of their honeymoon Photoshopping their wedding photos. I’m including pics of Kanye inside the conference and outside, greeting a handful of fans and looking depressed that he’s not being photographed exclusively on iPhones. Yes. You heard me. Kanye West IS Steve Jobs. Reincarnated, or something. More highlights from Kanye’s speechifying:

His biggest influence: “Steve Jobs, as everyone knows, was my biggest influence. Just seeing the way he fought to make things easier for people. After he passed, I made it my life’s mission to do what he did inside of that company. I dream to help raise the palette and raise the taste level of a generation and also be involved with the production and distribution and advertising of that thing everyone’s begging for.”

Anti-branding: “People are less about the brand and more about self-confidence and how the brands can assist them, similar to what Steve was doing with tech. This is my goal in lifestyle, in everyday life—to change the idea of what luxury is. Because time is the only luxury. It’s not all these brands that we just drove by that are somehow selling our esteem back to us through association.”

When celebrities turn themselves into walking endorsements: “When people think celebrity, which is the highest form of communication—we’re like walking networks or TV shows or brands in ourselves—you don’t think good taste. And I believe that bad taste is vulgar. It’s like cursing. I think the world can be saved through design. Because what is the most distasteful thing someone can do? Kill someone. So, good taste is the opposite of that.”

Ugliness: “The world as a whole is f–king ugly. The Internet as a whole is f–king ugly, too. But I’m not in the construction business. I said to Kevin [Systrom], why don’t you let us redo Instagram? Now, you know, Instagram is nice. It’s nice looking. I’m not knocking it. But just in general, everyone spends all of their time looking at their screens or their phones. And just as a simple task, we could clean that up. Right here, in Cannes, right now, we have enough people with the sensibilities and connections to completely make that a more beautiful place.”

[From Ad Week]

The thing about it is… Kanye’s not always wrong. More often than not, he’s the wrong messenger, and more often than not, he blatantly contradicts himself in the next breath, but he’s not always wrong. He’s right about celebrity branding and he’s right about brands trying to “sell our esteem back to us through association.” That being said, he just married Kim Kardashian, famous for making a p0rn (“vulgar”) and then branding an empire of clothes, makeup, diets, workouts, tabloids and reality shows. But in Kanye’s convoluted mind, I guess it’s okay because she’s #1, right? At least she’s the #1 vulgar sellout.

What a blowhard. Shut up and be happy you have a life most only dream of. A family, career, your health, no financial burdens. Pffft!

    • kri says:

Oh my god. So, he thinks “bad taste is vulgar”. Interesting use of the English language, not to mention hilarious. He married the definition of vulgar. If he thinks cursing is vulgar, what does he think of his wife’s mom selling a sex tape of her kid? Or is that okay, since Cement Ass is the number1 girl? So,Steve Jobs is a hero of his, but the Internet is the devil. A mass of contradictions and grandiosity. So delusional.

      • Chrissy says:

Considering his use of foul language as part of
his stage act, I guess he would qualify as vulgar. Not to mention referring to his wife and the Perfect Bitch. If that isn’t vulgar, I don’t know what is. What a loser!

      • swack says:

If he think’s cursing is vulger then why is every other word a version of “f@#k” when he is ranting. And sorry, why are people using him in forums like this. He can’t discuss anything intellectually. Good message or not, I think most of us already know what he is saying and it’s nothing new.

      • me says:

        @ swack

They use him in forums because if they said “no” he would call them all racists.

      • gefeylich says:

I think it’s drugs, either lack of prescribed ones or an overuse of the recreational. This is a guy who once bravely noted on live TV that “George Bush doesn’t care about black people,” something which was glaringly obvious at the time of the Katrina disaster but no one else had the stones to point out.

What the hell happened to him? He went from being an actual truth-teller to becoming a megalomaniac who has made a series of really bad life choices but refuses to own up to them, preferring instead to blame the nebulous “internet.” He’s starting to sound as incoherent as Chris Brown.

  2. Abbott says:

Just when I thought you couldn’t possibly be dumber, Kanye…. you do something like this and redeem yourself!

Just kidding. You’re still an a@@hole.

  3. bored_01 says:

He’s right about the internet. Steve Jobs? I dunno about that.

    • Shauna says:

The difference between him and Jobs is that Jobs didn’t hit people over the head with thoughts. Instead, he created, he presented and his thoughts turned into necessities.

      • Trillion says:

Yeah, that and the fact that Steve Jobs invented things and totally changed the way people use technology. Kanye is a rapper. Married to an internet “sensation”.

    • Monksolo says:

He sort of is like a musical Steve Jobs. He dumbs down other people’s music so that it is more “accessible” to the common man.

  4. Lucy2 says:

But… I thought Kim was the number one most important person on the Internet? And if the Internet is ugly…
If there were any points in there, they’re all invalid because of her. He can go on and on about genius and class and taste, but look who he chose.

  5. Tifygodess24 says:

I just can’t , he never stops- he needs to put a sock in it and go away for a while. What it must be like to think your king of the world and bigger than God himself! The delusion is strong between him and his blushing bride!

  6. GeeMoney says:

“The Internet as a whole is f–king ugly, too.”

As much as I can’t stand this man, I can’t disagree with him there. Some of the comments I’ve read and the sites I’ve seen online are just downright horrendous.

    • evie says:

Agreed. There are days when I feel like the world is lost after reading some comments and articles online. I don’t like Kanye but he is right when he says the internet is an ugly place.

      • Jayna says:

I agree. But then I wondered was he talking about visually. Kanye is all about the visual. Four days on his honeymoon fixing a photo? LOL So does he want to make the internet, instagram which is designed poorly lookswise more aesthetically pleasing? I will have to read it again to see. Because that seems to be his theme in interviews, how he wants to visually make something better. He said he couldn’t be on the Kardashians because he would want to be the lighting director because he sees what they are doing wrong. I guess he wants Kimmie lit up to her fullest potential. LOL

      • Christin says:

I assumed he was talking about content, but in context, he seems to be talking about appearance aspects. Because it’s all about how it looks, I guess. Make it look better — no matter how shallow, superficial and stupid some of the content is, right?

    • Josephine says:

The internet has a lot of beauty and there is a ton of useful information available. Gossip sites do not equate the internet. There is a lot that is bad, but so much more that is good. Kayne has no idea what the internet is – he probably sees .00001% of it because he’s only interested in what is being said about him or trash he hangs with.

      • lana86 says:

as they say, the flies will find shit and bees will find flowers. For me, internet was never ugly – just extremely useful, entertaining, almost enlightnening – i read books through internet to which I would’ve never had access otherwise! There is whole ancient library in there at your feet! But if you r Kanye, and spend your time googling yourself or whatever, internet must seem sort of hellish…

      • gefeylich says:

        Well said, and thank you.

  7. Josephine says:

He’s way too superficial to see that there is great beauty in the world, and it has nothing to do with aesthetics. His problem is that he only sees what things and people look like, and cares nothing about the beauty within. There are many good people doing wonderful things – he just does not know any of them, being surrounded by such hateful, superficial, greedy people who have deluded themselves into thinking that they mean anything.

Celebrity is the epitome of vulgarity, lacking meaning, lacking beauty, lacking real import. He needs to see the world a little more.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

      ITA

    • Belle Epoch says:

Thank you Josephine. We posted at the same time.

    • paranormalgirl says:

      *applause* and agreement

There is SO much beauty in the world. I feel sorry for him that he is unable to see past the aesthetic.

    • roundbelly says:

      Well said, Josephine. Beautiful.

    • Lee says:

Great comment. I recently watched (but couldn’t get through) a ‘special’ on the Kimye lifestyle, which made me feel sick. Obscene wealth spent on obscene luxury. It made me angry that we (the public) keep giving them our money so they can keep living like they are King and Queen of their own realm. They’ll spend the GDP of a small country for a party, and meanwhile people everywhere are homeless and hungry. Disgusting people. Kanye is the ultimate shallow narcissistic hypocrite.

  8. Colu says:

Crazy Kanye makes my day. Never stop Yeezus.

  9. Ag says:

talking about total cognitive dissonance. his wife is the epitome of everything he’s speaking up against – vulgarity, bad taste, the sell-out celebrity culture. tsk, tsk, tsk, kanye.

    • Dawn says:

Exactly what I thought. He has no room to talk when he partakes in everything he says he hates. And he wonders why his Q’s are falling. He needs to get a clue.

  10. Eleonor says:

I don’t know why but sometimes he reminds me of GOOP, seriously.

  11. Nev says:

    genius.

  12. Hillshmill says:

Kanye’s worst enemy is his own ego.

  13. lower-case deb says:

wait, is he talking about ugly in a visual aesthetic sense (that haircut is ugly) or ugly in an atmosphere/attitude sense (he has an ugly viewpoint, her words/conduct is ugly/meanspirited)?

because he’s talking about instagram (pictures/photos) and cannes as, i think, a physical place.

    • Jayna says:

Yes, he is talking about it being ugly in the visual sense, not in the hateful comments sense.

  14. MrsBPitt says:

ummm….What??? I never understand a thing this guy says!!!!

  15. eliza says:

Lololololololol. He says cursing is vulgar and distasteful, yet his intellectual and wonderfully designed songs are peppered with filth and he curses out people all the time.

What a contradictory tool he is!

  16. Barbiegirl says:

Ok, I click on those posts out if curiosity and hoping to be amused by the nonesense he says ( and I am, when I am not rolling my eyes..). But I do not understand how both him and Kim keep making paid public appearances… I would never pay to see them taking such bullshit…

While Angelina does something good with her celebrity status, those two ( and others) make me Angry at how privileged They Are and how much they still complain !!! They are absolutely clueless to all the real problems in the world … And they pontificate … I want to throw up…

    • Amanduh says:

Totally agree. I would love for those two over-privileged celebs to be dropped off in the middle of a refugee camp or in the Congo and then try to justify a $150 white tee-shirt. There’s more to the world than Instagram, celebrity and money.

  17. Adrien says:

I want to hate Kanye but he makes me chuckle everytime he’s ranting. Just look at his smile. How can you hate that?

    • Dawn says:

Well I don’t hate him because I don’t know him but I do hate what he says and what he spreads and all the while he is doing those exact things. And sorry but that smile looks like he is coked up to the max.

  18. yuck says:

Golly, I hope the use of the word “palette” was a mistake on the part of the transcriber and didn’t come from Kanye and/or his publicist. Since “palate” is clearly what he was aiming for. Unless he’s aspiring to become a painter on top of GENIUS RECORDING ARTIST AND RENAISSANCE MAN, and this is our first clue? Unfortunately, I think spelling may be beyond his grasp.

    • sputnik says:

colour wheel awareness therapy for the masses? perhaps he is going to raise the palette.

      i’m sure it’s a transcribing mistake.

      • Bella says:

Kanye could’ve said he aspires to “refine the palate” of the masses, or, “enhance the palette”, but, as he so poorly stated he wants to “raise the palate/palette/palet?, we can’t find any actual meaning or value in his prattle…..

  19. hannah says:

was this actually a panel discussion? Who else was participating? And did they get a word in edgeways?

  20. Nan says:

He hath spoken, like the true special snowflake he is. Kanye, why don’t you work a deal with Target? That will show people what you’re made of design-wise.

  21. LadyMTL says:

This is exactly why I’m torn about Kanye. On the one hand he does have a valid point but then he says something like “everyone spends all of their time looking at their screens or their phones” when the day before he just admitted that he and Kim spent tons of time during their honeymoon editing the wedding pic that they posted on Instagram.

So on the one hand it’s okay for him to do it but on the other hand…we spend too much time looking at our phones? I mean, I do agree with his basic point but it’s also sort of laughable too (especially considering who he married).

    • FLORC says:

This really does sum him up.

And he is the wrong messenger, but that shouldn’t discredit the argument.
The internet is great, but it also breeds hate and gives a safer venue to to let out the worst in us because we’re anonymous.

    • Artemis says:

Kanye West became that what he hates. He’s a capitalist now only concerned with what’s flashy, hot and new and thinks his ego can hide for the fact that it’s quite basic and unnecessary. He always talks about his wife in superficial manner, Amber Rose said he was a superficial asshole and his music is goddamn awful compared to his last albums. Everything in his life (his love, clothing line, music, friendships) screams ‘basic, greedy and superficial’. It’s aesthetics above anything else. If this was Lisa Bonet saying this stuff, I would believe, because homegirl walks the talk. All Kanye does is talk…literally!

His music and beliefs devolved so much whereas his ego has skyrocketed for no reason. The man is blind, lord lead him to the light.

    • QQ says:

I agree with you guys, whilst he isnt wrong and he IS a truly talented guy he basically has contradicted his entire work and musical message (and you could argue the example his mom set to him) by find THE most empty ass vacuous vessel he could possibly find and associating himself with THAT “brand”

    • Sherlockapple says:

This coming from a man who’s wife’s “career” growth has relied on, what, say 90% internet activity (and one, may I add, vulgar video)?

    • Dio says:

He is either has a drug problem -“flight of ideas”- incomplete sentences, skips from topic to topic, almost incoherent sometimes….
Or, has a true psychiatric disorder w/the delusional, grandiose thinking, narcissism, & labile mood swings. ie. anger, hostility, depression…
I wonder how many of his real friends and family have tried to get him some help…

    • Jag says:

Dio, I’m bipolar and he seems bipolar to me because I do that when I’m really manic.

    • Jarredsgirl says:

I watched a video of Kanye on Kris Jenner’s talk show. I was really struck by how much he reminded me of an old friend, in his mannerisms, the way he explained himself and his thought process. I mention it because the friend was mentally ill, to a large and obvious degree, although it was difficult to pinpoint what the illness was – possibly there were multiple illnesses. I think Kanye may have a mental illness, but that in no way makes his points less valid. He is correct a lot of the time – it’s just the delivery that can be confusing. I think a lot of what Kanye says is misunderstood, his heart is in the right place. He has good intentions but often that doesn’t come across because it is tangled up in his disordered thought process.

  22. NewWester says:

I find it difficult to really understand when Kayne is trying to get a point across or just ranting. I see a epic breakdown in the near future

  23. Belle Epoch says:

He’s a hypocrite. This kinda makes sense, but he doesn’t walk the talk. He is the most materialistic, superficial crazy man on the planet. Who needs gold-dipped bottles of Chianti? And if FLOWERS need to be Photoshopped, he’s saying the natural world isn’t good enough for him? NOTHING meets his “standards” because he is nuts. The world is not f-ING ugly, it’s beautiful – but look what he did to it in that video!!!

  24. Kiddo says:

Here’s the thing: There is no mystery to Kanye. Steve Jobs was effective in marketing products because he made them a big secret until the official reveal. People wanted to be in the know and desperately tried to get info before the presentation. He created the demand before it even hit.

Kanye’s entire gig is acting meshugana, and spouting off about something on the daily, while doing pap shots with a double-stuff brunette Pamela Anderson blow-up doll.

He’s not wrong about all things, and he does have talent, but he’s tiresome, like that fly that won’t get out of your face. He’s less Steve Jobs and more that guy, in a ridiculous costume, who perpetually yells, in a bad production value TV commercial, about his car dealership on the highway; (which runs every 30 seconds and wakes you from a nap due to volume and noise distortion from incompetent recording levels).

  25. Frida_K says:

First he says that cursing is vulgar and then he swears?

    Hm.

And he rants about the world being ugly?

Is this a case of “you spot it, you got it?

I need to finish my coffee before I ponder such mysteries, I really do.

  26. aenflex says:

Almost all of what he said made some sense and at the same time completely contradicts the fact that he just married a repugnant famewhore. I’ve never liked Kanye, regardless of whether or not he’s not always wrong.

  27. Audrey says:

Kanye is nuts but I can’t help it. I like him. 🙁

  28. Jayna says:

So he wants to create the things that people just have to have, clothing included, but brands don’t mean anything? He talks in circles.

Your wife is vulgar, has no fashion sense, no matter how much you take over dressing her and the baby

  29. Nicolette says:

“I think the world can be saved through design. Because what is the most distasteful thing someone can do? Kill someone. So, good taste is the opposite of that.”

WTF does this even mean? So killing or not killing someone has to do with good/bad taste? No, it has to do with being a decent member of the human race vs. being an individual with no regard for human life. And the world can be saved through design, is he serious? Wow, maybe he should get out there and let everyone around the world possess that little tidbit of wisdom. Is he reading the same headlines the rest of us are? There you go, Kanye has to answer to achieve world peace. Design.

    • Jayna says:

Maybe have a drink before you read it. LOL I needed coffee to read one of Kanye’s brilliant interviews, but we’re out of coffee.

  30. Dhavynia says:

If the internet is so f*cking ugly THEN WHY SPEND DAYS EDITING YOUR WEDDING PIC FOR THE WORLD TO SEE

    Idiot

  31. Sullivan says:

I agree with Kanye (WTH?) when he says time is a luxury.

    • word says:

Yeah time is a luxury…so why doesn’t he spend more time with his daughter and less time ranting. He just spent 4 damn days photoshopping a picture.

  32. Dina Strange says:

Before he talks about ugly he needs to stop wearing fur. Fur is ugly – made out of suffering, intelligent animals stuck in their own urine, vomit and dirt all day long and dying by anal electrocution so that idiot will wear a coat made out of their skins.

    • Josephine says:

I agree, but then most of what he does is ugly. It does not get uglier than amassing money so that you can swim in ridiculous luxuries to shore up your lack of confidence while you rant about how unfair everyone is to you. He is surrounded by ugliness because he and the wife are ugliness . Ugliness is being useless and contributing nothing to the world – Kim personified, and Kayne not far behind.

  33. The Original G says:

I wouldn’t confuse the the fact that a person has been given a platform with the idea that he actually has something to say.

  34. B says:

I very much get celebrity branding, but his quote: “…when people think celebrity, which is the highest form of communication…”

That is totally, ummm, subjective. Geeze Ye, keep speaking for the people. Sheer entertainment. Sheer *high*est communication. Sheer celeb-elevated genius. Yeesus has spoken. Barf.

  35. Jayna says:

This is the man that rapped this lyric in Yeezus, which is so offensive, and no one said a thing, except a couple of critics. I look out a letter in one word in case it offends someone. Yeah, Kanye bring the beauty back to the world with your misogynistic lyrics all over your latest album. I think he makes the world ugly with a lot of his lyrics reducing women to “hos” and “bitches” all over his last album not matter how interesting sonically it was with the fusion of other genres with hip-hop.

“Eatin’ Asian pu sy, all I need was sweet and sour sauce.”

    • Belle Epoch says:

JAYNA we could have a field day with his ugly “lyrics” (which personally I find laughable). What about his romantic ode to Kim, “I wanna f-ck you in the sink” ? How does he get away with being SO BAD?

  36. in_theory says:

The man is clearly delusional, but his delusions have some kind of method and logic and sometimes even truth. Weird.

  37. DanaG says:

Kim is everything he is saying is ugly. She got her start in porn and her and her family have sold themselves and anything they could get their hands on. Their entire career is based on the internet and the very things Kanye find vulgar. So what happens when Kim goes down to number two and beyond? Cause we all know it’s going to happen the slide has already started. Kanye needs to be humble and greatful for what he has most people in the world don’t have a quarter of what he has and really appreciate everything around them. So does this mean he and Kim are going to stop using the internet etc? Nope of course not 2 people who are so egocentric they spend 4 days photoshopping the colour of flowers for their instagram account aren’t about to give up that sort of attention.

    • Jarredsgirl says:

Just to say, was Kim ever really number one? She is only really number one person if you are talking about fame. Being famous and being “number one” are two different things in my mind though. Being most famous doesn’t make you the best looking, the nicest, the kindest, the most interesting etc.

  38. Mzizkrizten says:

If only he would take that passion and use it for good. He could be a humanitarian and instead he became a Kardashian. He doesn’t even get his own irony.

  39. Other Kitty says:

He definitely needs to learn how to form coherent sentences. He makes good points but he is completely inarticulate. And what is “raising the palette?” Did I miss something?

    • lower-case deb says:

i guess he meant palate, but the typist made a typo. refine the palate maybe?

  40. ickythump says:

Yes – “the world can be saved by design” comment is on a par with Goop’s “the internet is like being in a war” comment – I suggest we send the two of them to Iraq today to save the world.

    • Happyhat says:

I wanna see him go to Iraq with some Philippe Starck chairs and see how well he’s received…

  41. dagdag says:

What a narrow minded person he is.

  42. Sarah says:

Yeah I’m feeling the extreme irony in his critism of the Internet. It’s ugly and crass, except when it’s making his career and fortune.
Kanye and Kim use the Internet to keep themselves out there every day, they need to learn you can’t have it both ways.
It’s like the actors that call the paparazzi to snap “candid family photos” when it suits their message, then complain about the stalkerazzi.

  43. AG-UK says:

He doesn’t need to talk off the cuff he needs to compose his thoughts otherwise he comes off badly. I don’t care for him or her.

  44. Jaded says:

Um, Kanye, you married into one of the ugliest, sleaziest, most money-grubbing and fame-whorey families on the planet. No, in the UNIVERSE! They will use any medium to promote their “brand” which is nothing but shameless self-marketing including sex tapes, family fights, break-ups, endless plastic surgery, instagrams with guns, the list goes on and on. So don’t go all sanctimonious on us peons because we like the internet. The internet many of us know speaks the truth and teaches us lots of wonderful things.

    Now sit down and STFU.

  45. Hot Farts says:

“Cursing is in bad taste” next line “F*&king ugly”

I don’t spend anytime on instagram. Maybe that is his problem. He sees life through Instagram colored glasses. As soon and he makes a point and let’s everyone in on what he is actually talking about, just once, I promise I will pay attention if only to disagree.

  46. Shopperetta says:

“Took her to the ‘Bleau, she tried to sip the fountain/ That when David Grutman kicked her out/ But I got her back in and put my dick in her mouth.”

Thank you, Kanye, for making the world a more beautiful place.

  47. Mandy says:

“Because what is the most distasteful thing someone can do? Kill someone. So, good taste is the opposite of that.”

    WHAT?

    • JudyK says:

Exactly. His rhetoric makes no sense and is totally contradictory.

And, speaking of “ugliness,” he personifies that in his constant use of the “F” word, beyond-vulgar lyrics, and tweeting (over one year ago or so) that he just “F-d” KK so hard…it was later deleted. Yeah, he’s adding real beauty and class to this planet. I vote that we send him into outer space so that he can beautify other planets and leave this one alone.

    • MissTrial says:

      Haaa, Mandy.

“WHAT?” is the only appropriate response/reaction.

      • Mandy says:

lol I just don’t kill people because it’s immoral and illegal. Not because it’s not in fashion at the moment. But hey, I’m not famous so what do I know?

  48. Palermo says:

He adds to the ugliness of the world with his words and actions. His musical genius is garbage.

  49. Sabrine says:

I totally agree with Kanye. The world is a very ugly place. Just the atrocities done to women the world over by men is horrifying enough in itself. Sometimes it’s hard to read some of the stuff when I sit down with my tablet. He’s right about the Internet too.

Yes, Kim has a lurid past but hopefully she’s growing smarter with age. Unfortunately, her porno will be out there for her children to watch down the road. She obviously wasn’t thinking about that when she made it.

    • Naye in VA says:

Okay but his way to counter that is by raising people’s taste level? Really. My android isn’t good enough? So if my taste level doesnt match yours does that speak to some sort of inadequacy of deficiency I have? He spoke the truth about branding but only to say that he’s buying into it. What is everybody else reading, because all I heard was “vain, vapid, empty”

  50. word says:

I used to like Kanye, way back years ago…but now he annoys me as much as the Kardashian/Jenners do. He is officially one of them.

Also, does Kanye work for Apple ? What is he doing “inside that company”? I know Kim has a video game of HERSELF coming out soon…was Kanye involved in that mess?

What makes him think his taste is sophisticated and better than anyone else’s? Look at who he married.

He wants to change the idea of what “luxury” is? Flower walls for everyone !

Does he think Kim has good taste? She and her family are one big fat “brand”. Kanye himself left Nike (a brand) for Addidas (a brand) because he wanted to make more money. He’s all about the dollar bills…he needs to stop lying.

Hahaha he wants to make instagram a “more beautiful place”? Why doesn’t he go and try to clean up some third world country and make that a more beautiful place instead? His wife made the internet an ugly place when she released her $ex tape.

Kanye seems to think he needs to have his hands on anything and everything us peasants use. He wants to show us how sophisticated we can be. LOL this coming from a man who married a washed up porn star. SHUT UP.

  51. word says:

Kanye and Kim both seem exhausting. I can’t imagine how Kanye would react if someone got his order wrong at a restaurant.

“I ordered tha number one best steak in the world bitch ! This ain’t number one. Do I gotta go in there and make it my self? Imma create and desgin the best cow OF ALL TIME, then kill the best cow OF ALL TIME, then eat the best cow OF ALL TIME ! “

  52. hmmm says:

So deeply shallow. Kanye doesn’t want to change the world, he just wants to decorate it.

  53. claire says:

I really just kinda hate this guy at this point. One a-hole move after another. It’s infuriating to me to hear that he contacts talented professionals in their chosen field, to tell them he can do things better. He’s more creative, smarter whatever. Than them. They who created something big. They who spent their time, talent and creativity to create something successful, but Kanye will call them and tell it’s okay, but let him redo it. He doesn’t even freaking know what the hell he’s talking about. It’s so insulting. I cant’ wait ’til he goes away, gets locked in the asylum or wherever the hell he belongs at this point. Him are Kim are such perfect examples of some of the things wrong with today’s society.

    • word says:

I can’t even imagine what Kanye was like in college. No wonder he dropped out. He probably thought he knew more than his professors did. Just imagine Kanye at a job interview. OMG.

      • DrFunkenstein says:

Oh, I have a feeling I know what he was like. I am a college professor. I run into the “I’m too intelligent to require education and nothing you could possibly say or know could remotely approximate the merest hint of my unbelievably enormous intellect, so even though I know nothing about what you are attempting to teach me, I feel confident in ignoring it as learning is pointless when you are omniscient,” types all the time. They all end up the same way. They either grow up a little and learn, or they remain solidly narcissistic and eventually quit school because “nobody there is worthy of my genius.” I’ll leave it to you to figure out into which category he falls.

      • Godwina says:

Ha, DrFunk. +1000. My favourites are “school of life!!!111!” people who still somehow seem so terribly ignorant while they piss on books and ideas. (A very particular type of person, of course–I know tons of people without much schooling who are super plugged in and thoughtful. I think it’s more a personality issue than a brain one.)

Another college prof over and out.

      • jwoolman says:

Former college professor here. I remember the delightful laggards who would complain about their grades and cheerfully announce that the subject was boring. (As though that was going to inspire me to raise their grade.) Translation: “I can’t get an A by dashing off my assignment in ten minutes before class. Since I am a supergenius and all you low paid teachers should bow at my feet for the privilege of seeing me occasionally in your classroom- the problem is just that the subject is boring.” I figured out pretty fast in college that no subject is boring. It’s in the curriculum because somebody, somewhere, found it interesting and useful. Teachers can be boring or incompetent, and the subject might stretch your underused brain cells to the breaking point — but the subject matter always has some inherent interest if you look for it. The universe is all interesting.

  54. swack says:

Thread on DM that say Kim flew into Nice and Kanye flew out. What the heck? These two are apart more than they are together.

    • claire says:

And before Kim flew out, Kris had flown over there to be by Kanye’s side during the event. That is just freaking weird.

      • idk says:

Kris is such a controlling person. How on earth is she able to speak to Kanye without ripping her own hair out? Does she just smile and say “yes”? Is Kanye the only person Kris is afraid of?

      • claire says:

She’s just a nasty leech. She’ll put up with anything for fame I guess.

  55. KATTYKITTY says:

As a whole, the world is very beautiful, with some ugly pock marks.

    The internet is fucking ugly.

But if you think the world, as a whole, is ugly, them you’re just ugly on the inside and seeing it through your “ugly” filter.

Change your perspective; change your life.

  56. idk says:

Maybe he should try being the number 1 dad.

He needs to stop acting like he is the expert on EVERYTHING. What a slap in the face to people who have worked their whole lives at their profession only to have some delusional rapper (who has yet to master language skills) tell them he can do it better. Shut up Kanye, just shut up. You weren’t even able to find yourself a decent woman to marry, so what the f*ck do you know?

  57. me says:

I don’t know how to post vidoes on here, but someone please post the video of Kim’s new video game. It’s so hilarious ! How is this possible?

  58. taxi says:

Dio called it – KW has a seriously inflated concept of his own value, intelligence, taste, etc. which I attribute to mental illness. He’s the epitome of vulgar crudity in his speech and “music.” His behavior is bizarre and for ugliness, all he needs to do is look in the mirror.

I find it odd that he supports and may encourage his wife’s significant cosmetic surgical alterations? Didn’t his mother die during or as a result of a strictly cosmetic surgery?

    • swack says:

His mom died after the cosmetic surgery. She was told it was risky because she had health issues that put her at risk during surgery and that she should not have had it done. I believe one doctor wouldn’t do the surgery because of her health issues. I could be wrong, but I think that is what happened.

  59. msw says:

I starting to think the whole Kanye West thing is just an epic troll.

  60. G says:

Good lord anyone have a douche translator? WTH ‘bad taste is vulgar’? Your WIFE is relevant b/c she got piss’d on. Save it.

  61. Altariel says:

Wow, I think I almost respect him on his anti-branding message! And its a good one. And time is the finest of luxuries, to be sure.

  62. LilyT says:

I had to stop at “good taste is the opposite of killing someone”

    Is it Kanye? Is it?

  63. LilyT says:

And ok, I get that sometimes, in the midst of his narcissistic psychobabble he makes some very valid points.

PROBLEM IS that good, valid social commentary is useless when thrown in carelessly amongst meaningless rubbish.
The message doesn’t get across, and isn’t that the entire point?

When the life you are living is in DIRECT conflict with the values you espouse, you need to go home and reevaluate your choices.

  64. Godwina says:

“Steve Jobs, as everyone knows, was my biggest influence. Just seeing the way he fought to make things easier for people. After he passed, I made it my life’s mission to do what he did inside of that company. I dream to help raise the palette and raise the taste level of a generation and also be involved with the production and distribution and advertising of that thing everyone’s begging for.”

Convoluted mind is right! Talk about one-half of the picture. “Make things easy” for which people? The legions of factory workers? And upping consumerism is human good?

    Oh Kanye. Yeezus wept.

  65. Chris says:

Wow. There seem to be a lot a forces at work trying to make this Kimye v Bey feud happen.
Also, I agree with what others have said about Kanye’s hypocritical comments given who he’s married to. I wonder why the journalists who were interviewing him didn’t point it out?

  66. d says:

As with most people, imo Kanye is his own worst enemy. I think he does have talent and vision and intelligence, but it gets negated or even damaged by his ego and big mouth. I can understand frustration if your passion and your work isn’t enough to speak for itself and I can especially understand it if he feels that wasn’t taken seriously because of the colour of his skin, but man, it’s a shame, because the truth of what says needs to be heard. I just wish he would take his head out of his butt and take a good hard look at himself.
I know people too, truly intelligent ones, who dropped out of school and even promising careers, because they were “too smart” for it and so on. They are the ones who can’t cope with life’s basic difficulties, esp interpersonal relationships. Like, they are intelligent in one way, but severely and sometimes shockingly dumb and incapable in everything else.
Oh, and Kanye: from the King James Bible: “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” Something to think about.

  67. Jarredsgirl says:

I do think he is correct in what he said, especially about time being the only luxury, however, he seems to think that design is just about beauty and beauty alone. It’s not – good design is about functionality, the way that things work for people. He seems to be obsessed with beautifying everything. I can understand that but he seems to be going a bit too far with it.

Also, Steve Jobs ?? Am I missing something – what did he do for the benefit of society? He made Apple, which is awesome and I’m thankful for my fantastic laptop and iphone. But where are the apple products made? And by whom? (The answer is slaves in Asia). Steve Jobs was not a humanitarian in any shape or form – was he?

  68. G00p says:

    Poseur.

  69. Sarahj says:

I miss the kanye that said “george bush hates black people”

    RIP

  70. Jade says:

Being “right” doesn’t mean he’s smart. I can only pick up a few sentences that make sense and they are what people already know. So what’s mind-blowing or Steve Jobs original about that?

Seriously, he is talking but not making sense nor giving any concrete idea or product. Read those words again. He is like those folks who keep throwing big words around and saying a product can be improved but he has no ideas at all. I am not surprised if the creative and entrepreneurial folks get cheesed off at his empty dreams of grandeur.

If he is disgusted at the Internet, take a damn seat. Internet gossip is the reason Kim and him are still being talked about, which is why I rarely comment about them but this took the cake. Early reality celebs faded away faster (exhibit A: Paris Hilton) because gossip blogging was in its early days. We got our gossip or entertainment news from cable and tabloids. With the explosion of smart phones, gossip blogging, Twitter and Instagram, celebrity news and updates travelled faster and easier. If you hate the Internet, don’t get Internet subscription. Don’t go on social media. Don’t put your videos on YouTube. Tell E not to put any Kanye or Kardashian news on their website. Sheesh.

Mentally ill, or just a colossal f%cking idiot? It’s hard to say at this point.

Then ask your wife to put on a different dress.
