I didn’t realize that French Montana is Muslim. Did you know that? It’s true though. French’s real name is Karim Kharbouch and he was born in Rabat, Morocco. Huh. Does anyone else think it’s weird that an observant Muslim would found a label called Cocaine City Records? Well, I guess money is money. Anyway, French is Muslim and he’s observant. He even observes Ramadan in the traditional way – no eating, drinking or smoking… and no sex.
TMI, Khloe! Khloe Kardashian crashed boyfriend French Montana’s Angie Martinez interview for Power 105 on Thursday, July 24 and overshared a little on the state of the couple’s intimate relationship. Characteristically forthright, the 30-year-old Kardashian refused to bow down to critics who suggest rapper Montana, 29, is no good for her.
“People are going to comment no matter what,” she said. “If I like [Montana], no one else should care, they’re not f–king him. So why do they care?”
In fact, she later admitted, neither is she at the moment. Montana is currently observing Ramadan, an annual month of fasting in the Muslim calendar.
“That’s no eating, no drinking, no smoking,” said show host Martinez. “Wait — there’s no sex! How’s that been?”
“So fun,” Kardashian replied, sarcastically “That’s why he’s wearing all white. He’s so pure and holy, he’s virginal.”
“You could technically torture him right now,” said Martinez, laughing.
“I have been,” Kardashian added cheekily. “Every single day.”
Earlier in the interview the reality TV star revealed Montana’s got a softer side to the one he portrays in the media. “He’s probably one of the funniest people I’ve ever met in my life, you cannot stop laughing, crying laughing,” she said of her beau. “I think he puts out there a tough exterior but there’s another side of him that he keeps more private. I’ve learned from my past you’ve got to keep some things private, a little more close to your heart.”
For Montana’s part, he’s still getting used to the added attention, he claims, insisting he doesn’t really want to do interviews at the moment. “Khloe’s cool as hell,” he said when Martinez pushed him. “Puff is the one who put us together.”
While trying to revert the conversation back to his music, Montana did admit he’ll be starring on the new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
“They called me a couple of times for the new season, they got me,” he said. “They got Kanye [West] on there.” And on Kardashian’s mom Kris Jenner? “[We’re] best friends, we drink together,” says Montana. In fact , the rapper insists, he has “nothing but love” for the whole family.
Is this TMI? Yes. But as far as Kardashian TMIs go, this one was actually sort of interesting because at least I learned something new. I learned that French Montana is an observant Muslim who also abandons his wives, girlfriends and children so he can appear on an E! reality show with Pinocchio Butt. This world is profoundly weird.

One of my friends is a chef from Morocco and he is one of the best people I have ever met in my entire life. His restaurant is filled with pictures of Morocco and the food is so delicious. I would love to visit!

@Kaiser You don’t have to follow every single aspect of a religion to be considered a “proper” Muslim, Christian Jewish, Hindu etc. He can follow Ramadan and still be a shitty father and husband. I know a lot of muslims who don’t follow every aspect of Islam but still follow Ramadan very closely.

I thought that too. I dated a Muslim guy, he definitely didn’t follow the rules. His roommate was more observant than him, but he still drank and had sex.
Just like with any religion, some Muslim people don’t follow all the rules…some pick and choose what to follow…and some are only observant during Ramadan and once its over, back they go to their old ways.
i am muslim, and, no we don’t abstain from sex the whole month but only in day hours (when we fast). If one is observant, he would abstain from having sex with someone who is not his legal wife….just a thought

I knew about the no sex thing during daylight hours so this isn’t news to me. And I’m not surprised he is Muslim either, most Moroccans are. However there are more observant Muslims and less observant Muslims just as there are with Jews, Catholics, and Protestants. I’m Catholic and I take birth control. Doesn’t make me any less Catholic in my eyes. Some Muslims drink alcohol. Some don’t do Ramadan. Your lifestyle does not need to be solely dictated by your religion if you don’t want it to be.

This guy might very well be a joke, but I don’t personally don’t judge him for picking and choosing the laws of Islam that he adheres to. Because he cheats on his wife doesn’t mean he can’t practice Ramadan. Just like Jews might adhere to Yom Kippur, but don’t eat kosher and consume pork; Hindus might honor birth, wedding, and death rituals, yet eat beef occasionally; Catholics might go to mass and observe Good Friday, yet they might have sex before marriage, and so on. I just think that it’s quite rare for anyone these days to practice religion wholly. But yeah, religion aside, he does seem a bit skeevy, for sure!

Khloe is very sensitive (so am I so I feel like I know where she’s coming from sometimes), but I am dreading the day he starts cheating on her or abandons her.
