LOL. She is amazing-he’s got that part right.

  2. Freebunny says:

    OMG, such a shame.

    • kaligula says:

Why is this bad? He will open the eyes of many young girls about the hardships their peers in Pakistan are facing, and in other places where equal access to education is an issue. This is very admirable in my opinion! His fan base is young girls, and she is someone who addresses very serious issues that young girls face. It’s a fantastic connection!

      • Gea says:

I had a chance meeting few women from Pakistan who later on introduced me to more. We had interesting conversation about their view of us/ west understanding Malala case. The only way I could really understand her case Is based from my point of view growing up in the west. I admit their views about personal freedom is very different then mine and opinion on Malala radical view. In reality wishing for equality exist but it is far different than mine. I feel that girl, her soul is strong and still innocent. We should all support her and her amazing father.

  3. Jaded says:

OK, now I’m angry. That Justin Beiber should even hope to shine up his destroyed image by facetiming with that angel Malala makes me sick. Beiber, you’re trying to polish a turd, it ain’t going to work. You’re still a despicable little sizzurp-slurping, egg-throwing, whiny, arrogant, chicken-sh*t of a brat and no amount of facetiming with anyone will change that. FO.

    • Dani says:

It may be insensitive but OKitt has a point – she’s not doing her fund any favors by associating it with this little shi*t stain.

    • Forthelasttime says:

Dani – she’s only 17 and has been through hell! If anyone can bring a smile to her face then great. And if he wants to donate, his money is as good as anyone’s. I just hope she gets a big donation out of him even if he just trying to improve his image…

    • Miffy says:

Dani, malalas reputation and inspirational backstory completely overshadows captain dirt-rash’s asswipe agenda. The worst he can do is promote awareness to the few followers he has left.

    • Elle Kaye says:

We can spend our time focusing on everything negative, which, with Beiber, there is a great deal, (great discriptors, btw!!) or we can at least be thankful that he isn’t ALL bad ALL the time. Ok, maybe he isn’t being altruistic, but she still walks away happy. Isn’t that what counts, after all she has been through?

    • kri says:

I am so with you, Jaded. He uses people, religion, whatever to erase his stupid behavior. Yes, he should throw his money to worthy causes and people. Of course. That is the ONLY redeeming thing he can do at this point. I do not believe for a second he knew of her. I guess the publicists are doing some homework to earn those coke-dusted paychecks. He is not worthy of speaking with her. And where is Kanye ranting about Justin’s oh-so-adorable videos using the N-word over and over again? Oh, wait…there is money involved, huh, Kanye?

    • Jay says:

@Jaded for the record Mythbusters did prove it was possible to polish a turd. 🙂

      • TheOneandOnlyOnly says:

Yes, and I think it’s ironic that he’s pictured banging on the keyboard; that is clearly for show as in reality he has no interest in music for it’s own sake; just a vehicle to become rich and famous.

  4. dasarih says:

I hope he’d really support her cause and donate money.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

He better at least do that much, the little twit.

      • Erinn says:

Agreed. As much as an asshat as he is though, he’s not a complete slump on the charity/time donating front.

I know at least one kid in my area who got to meet him, and he was lovely to her. Incredibly sick kid, but we’re a tiny NS town, so he’s at least relatively wide reaching in his sick kid visiting.

I still can’t stand him, though.

  5. Tiffany :) says:

    He’s not worthy.

  6. Ravendaughter says:

Madonna may want to be careful with her young boy toys-they may (understandably) choose Lourdes. I’m certain she has a more pleasant personality!

    • Sarah says:

That’s what I’m beginning to think. In a year or two Madonna’s boy toys could date Lourdes and have it be socially acceptable. Lourdes is 18 in two months, and a 18/19 year old dating a 25 year old is a lot more normal than a 56 year old dating a 25 year old. Madonna wont handle Lourdes being a gorgeous twenty something very well. The next few years will be very interesting for us gossip watchers.

      • Mitch Buchanan Rocks! says:

either that or cound end up with an older dude – which would make family times real interesting – Lourdes brings Prince along as her Christmas dinner date and Madonna brings Justin Beibs as her latest.

  7. RK says:

She’s a heroine, he’s a douche. Not much more to say, except that maybe he was trying to make her a belieber just like Anne Frank….

    • word says:

He said he wants to help with her foundation. I think that’s great.

      • Rk says:

Yes, I think that’s good too, I just hate that he is doing it for publicity. But to be honest I just can’t see in an objective way anything Bieber does.

    • ORLY says:

I can’t believe y’all are making me defend Bieber, but the guy does a lot of charity work that never gets reported. Once in a while someone (from Canadian Cancer Foundation or elsewhere) will talk about or post a pic of him.
I also don’t see the bragging, he was complementing her.

  8. Side-Eye says:

His comment was actually pretty harmless.

  9. littlestar says:

Now that is the BEST nick-name you’ve ever come up with for Bieber. Walking Diaper Rash. It’s too perfect. LOL!

  10. mayamae says:

I don’t see the big deal. He may just be using her for publicity, but Malala benefits as well. She’s a political activist with an inspiring story, but the world forgets about inspiring after awhile. Her cause has received more attention, and thousands of screaming little girl Beliebers have been introduced to Malala and her story for the first time. And let’s not forget that underneath it all, Malala is still a teenager. Is she not allowed to just be a girl sometimes, and be silly and have fun?

I’m not a fan of his, by the way. I’m probably old enough to be his mother – in fact, send him to me and I’ll straighten him out.

  11. word says:

If she is a big fan, I think it was nice of him to do that for her. We need to remember she is a young girl and when you’re that age, it would probably have made her very happy to get to speak with him. Let the girl have some happiness. She deserves it ! Let’s hope she gave Justin some good advice about advocacy. Say what you want about him, but Justin is very giving when it comes to charity. He has donated a lot of time and money. Let’s not forget that.

  12. Josefa says:

I didn’t know who she was until now… thanks to Bieber. Detest that little brat but I can at least say he got this right. If he actually helps the cause I can’t be mad at him (for that specifically).

Lourdes looks great in a bikini. She’s got great legs.

    • LAK says:

Please tell me it is sarcasm when you write that you only knew of her due to this Bieber stunt!!

And if you aren’t being sarcastic, I have to ask how her story never crossed your path before considering her shooting cause a global outcry and continues to trend every time she pops up in the news.

  13. PennyLane says:

At least he wanted to speak with her – who knows, he might be trying to change into a more compassionate person. When people try to change, I try to support them even if (maybe especially if!) I have doubts about their ability to actually do so.

I wish him the best of luck in becoming a more sensitive, aware, compassionate human being. It’s going to be a long journey and not always an easy one.

  14. Lucy2 says:

I’m sure it was just to try to help his image, which I think is ruined anyway. However, it puts more attention on her cause, and money too hopefully. And maybe it gave her a moment of teenage happiness.

    • Josefa says:

Yeah, this is what I think too. I don’t care what Justin’s intentions are if everything turns out for the better for Malala. That’s my take on celebs doing charity. If they really are raising awareness and helping financially, I don’t care if they are just trying to clean their image. Let’s be real. That dishonest huge sum of money they can donate is a lot more helpful than whatever we regular folk can do with honest good intentions.

  15. Lydia Says says:

That’s great ! Justin might learn something from Malala. He may act like a jerk sometimes but he’s very generous from what I heard. Justin has a huge fan base. Anytime a celebrity uses his or her platform for a greater cause, it’s a plus in my book. He gets the positive press and Malala’s foundation get the exposure. It’s a win win.

Glad to see Wentworth Miller back to work.

  16. Virgilia Coriolanus says:

I feel so bad for Robert Downey Jr, and what his son’s going through. This is probably his worst nightmare–seeing history repeat itself, and then worrying about what’s going to happen with his two younger kids in the future. And then to be expecting a baby girl too–the highs and lows are very extreme. And I love RDJ–besides Brad and Angelina, he and Susan are my favorite celeb power couple because they are so into each other. I love that RDJ isn’t ashamed to say what he says about his Susan.

  17. Wilma says:

    Mmmm…Wentworth Miller….

  18. Roma says:

It can’t just be me… Rachel Bilson’s sweater is inside out, right? Aww pregnancy brain.

  19. Caz says:

Is Malala bragging about facetiming baby Bieber?

  20. jwoolman says:

Bieber may have evolved into world class twit status, but like all of us he has many aspects. I would give him the benefit of the doubt on this one- he’s been visiting sick kids for years and I think likewise about donations to real charities. There’s good in him struggling to get out at this point even though seemingly overwhelmed with self-absorbed twititude. He’s still very young. Even a little contact with young people like her may help him on his way. Chipping away at the twit armor, so to speak.

  21. Naddie says:

Maybe he’ll learn a few things with her, I hope so. If it happens, we just might send more jerks in need, like Rihanna, Beyonce, Kanye West, John Mayer… The list is long.

  22. Zooyork says:

Well, she is worthy of bragging about! She’s amazing! I would rather see justin bragging about her then some vapid model!

  23. Sam H x says:

Forget baby Bieber. Wentworth Miller! Good to see his fine self back on TV. Man he is the perfect combination of intelligent and good looking. I find him very eleoquent in interviews.

I have a new crush ladies, Frank Grillo. He is so effing hot. I don’t care if he’s old enough to be my dad lol. He’s one of those very sexy, rugged looking men. He’s growing into his looks very well.
