Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen marry in small private ceremony

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen
He may have spent the entire NFL season sidelined with injuries, but Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady scored one Brazilian model for his bride. Gisele Bundchen, aka “The Body,” wed Brady in a small private ceremony with family and friends yesterday. The couple pulled off quite the secret – they hadn’t even confirmed they were engaged. Sources confirm that Brady’s son John Edward Moynihan was at the wedding.

Tom Brady & Gisele Bündchen quietly got married in a small, private ceremony in Santa Monica, Calif. on Thursday, sources tell PEOPLE.

The New England Patriots quarterback and the Brazilian supermodel wed just before 6 p.m. at St. Monica’s church, less than a mile from the beach. Brady’s 1 ½ son, John Edward Thomas, was present at the wedding.

They followed the wedding with a small gathering at their Brentwood home.

Brady, 31, and Bündchen, 28, got engaged last month. “He asked and she accepted,” a source close to the couple told PEOPLE at the time.

The is the first marriage for both.

Reps for Brady and Bündchen could not be reached for comment.

I know I’m in the minority, but I’m rooting for these two. They’ve been surrounded by drama from day one but they have somehow found a way to make it work. It seems like Gisele has done a great job accepting Brady’s young son, which is very important. Congrats to the couple – now, Tom, get back to work!

Congrats to the couple! Love how they managed to keep things simple and under wraps, there nothing I hate more than celebrities wedding circus.
Sidenote,I thought Elle Macpherson was the one refered to as “The Body”. Don’t get me wrong its a valid description of Gisele.

They have done a brilliant job of keeping this under wraps! The rumor at Christmas was that Tom bought Gisele a ring, but everybody, even his father denied it.

I think they were smart to deny even being engaged. That way they diverted the attention of the media, which remained focused on an engagement, not a wedding. Gisele was smart not to wear the ring in public.

Gisele has been with her family at Carnivale in Rio for the past week, so who would have thought she’d be back so soon for a wedding? Nice diversion job on their part. I’m glad they got the private wedding they wanted.

Good for these two. I wish nothing but good things for them both : )It takes a woman with incredible strength and confidence to stand by a man who’s ex announces that she’s pregnant three months into their new relationship. Gisele is more than worthy to be his bride : )

Don’t let Elle MacPherson hear you call Gisele “The Body.” Just ask Heidi Klum what happened when she made that mistake. Elle will be the first to tell you that title is hers and hers alone:

Why would a man want to marry a man- looking, quite ugly girl who is known as the gold and fame digger who tried to cash on Leo for years?

Is Tom into dudes and saw it as some sort of compromise?

He should have been there for the mother of his child.

Does anyone care how much I can’t stand him?… I thought not.

Anywho, she’s not a gold-digger. She’s 10 (or more) times wealthier than Tom Brady will ever be. I don’t care about her either way, but as I mentioned above, I can’t stand his smirky, smarmy face.

For the sake of being nice, I hope their combined happiness is everything they’ve ever put forth in the world.

The mother of his child should have not deliberately gottn pregnant even though she knew the relationship was O-VAH!!!!

FFS, as a man I hate to have to point this out to you,,,if Tom , (we had to CHEAT to win our superbowls),was still letting Ms. Moynihan handle his pigskin then there is still some kind of “relationship” happening. I personally think Leo was taking too long to get done with Bar for Tom to wait any longer.

Ned, that “gold digger” that you seem to think is so ugly is the highest paid supermodel in the world and earned an estimated $35 million last year alone. I somehow don’t think she was after him for his money.

You may want to get your eyes examined. She is a stunningly beautiful woman and I find it hard to believe that you can’t recognize that even if you for some reason dislike her.

Lauri, I don’t dislike Gisele, but unlike you, I could never call her “stunningly beautiful.” Beautiful body, yes, but the face is another matter. And Ned, kudos to you for sticking up for Bridget Moynihan. Always nice to see a gentleman stand up for a lady.

  16. Sarah says:

Ned, I don’t think you’ve researched the facts very well, but your post is somewhat humorous: “Cash on Leo” ..? That is pure bunk.

I think it was inconsiderate of Bridget Moynahan to suddenly get pregnant without responsibly discussing it first with Tom. Yes, I know accidents in birth control can happen, but intelligent, responsible women have the final say in these matters and I feel she purposely get pregnant not because she necessarily wanted a child, but because she thought having Tom’s baby would bring about a proposal from him.

The baby is precious and Gisele is so gracious and generous in accepting him, and I can tell Gisele really cares about him. Tom is being a super-terrific dad also. But I get a very negative vibe about Bridget. Nobody will say this, so I will. I think her bringing a child into the world to try to hold onto her boyfriend was bitchy, selfish and irresponsible.

    P.S. – and to Tia:

Any ‘girlfriend’ who allows herself to get pregnant in the hope of controlling a relationship with someone who doesn’t want her anymore is COMPLETELY pathetic, prideless AND stupid!
