Katherine Heigl’s diva demands & attitude upset co-workers

Katherine Heigl seems to make enemies every month. After winning over a sizable audience in her Emmy-winning performance in “Grey’s Anatomy” and then starring in one of the biggest comedies of 2007, Knocked Up, Katherine was pegged as one of the biggest rising stars in Hollywood. Then she made a series of what could only be described as media relations disasters.

First there was her January 2008 Vanity Fair interview, where Katherine bashed the role that made her “bankable” as a film actress. She called Knocked Up “sexist” and then went on to bash the “ratings ploy” plot of the “Grey’s Anatomy” writers and producers. After some public condemnation for basically being ungrateful for the success she had, Katherine tried to back-track, sort of. Since it was basically her first offense, people tended to look the other way.

After that, Katherine bided her time until the a few weeks before the 2008 Emmy nominations were to be announced. She then sanctimoniously announced that she had withdrawn her name from Emmy consideration because she felt she hadn’t been given good enough material, and she didn’t think it was “fair” to the other potential nominees. That’s when all hell broke loose.

Katherine got called every name in the book for that one. “Grey’s Anatomy” writers and producers were pissed, and the gossip at the time was that Katherine was being deliberately bitchy as a way to get out of her Grey’s contract, so she could ultimately spend more time on her film career. Grey’s didn’t fire her though, instead forcing her to fulfill her contract. She’s been relatively quiet since then, until this new report. According to “sources”, Heigl was a huge diva on the set of 27 Dresses and her new film Five Killers. BANG Media has more (via Gossip Rocks):

Katherine Heigl has been accused of behaving like a diva while filming ’27 Dresses’.

The 30-year-old actress reportedly refused to film any scenes on the 2008 movie unless she was brought a can of Coke Zero, and also refused to talk to extras on set.

An extra on the film told gossip blogger Perez Hilton: “She wouldn’t film any scenes until her pregnant assistant ran and got her a Coke Zero. She refused to eat lunch next to anyone or have anyone speak to her once the stopped rolling.

“I filmed RIGHT next to her… for 10 hours straight two days in a row and she never once said hello to me. Never even looked in my direction even after I tried to make conversation.”

The new claims come after it was reported Katherine made a series of unreasonable demands on the set of her movie ‘Five Killers’.

A crew member said: “She’s had appointments with us – from camera tests to fittings – that she just hasn’t shown up to and has been making herself unavailable.”

“She and her mother, who is her manager, even had the audacity to request that wardrobe people go to her. We accommodated that request and she flaked on the meeting.”

The movie is being shot in Atlanta and France, and Katherine has reportedly requested a private plane transport her to set and a large security team.

Another source said: “She has a sense of entitlement that is really off-putting. Many directors that she’s worked with in the past DO NOT want to work with her again.”

A Coke Zero? Are those any good? Because I would find it hard to work without my Diet Coke, but I could probably manage without being an enormous bitch. I’m not sure if I believe all of this reporting, but I believe some of it. When the steady stream of gossip tilts towards consistent reporting of a particular star being a huge diva, and you’ve got the case history to back it up, it’s probably true. And that makes Katherine Heigl the reigning queen of sanctimonious entitlement.

I’ll have long forgotten her stupid name within 5 minutes so let her be a ” diva ” all she wants. She is not talented enough to pull it off though.

  2. Mimi says:

a shame. do TV stars have the right to be entitled?

  3. pebbles says:

I knew it! Right after she gets her wonk tooth fixed, she becomes all diva!

  4. Larissa says:

I love my coke zero, I have to say that..lol

  5. CiCi says:

What was wrong with her tooth?

  6. michellle says:

As a Classic Coke junkie, I’ve tried for years to learn to like or at least stomach diet Coke or any other diet soda to no avail. Coke Zero is not Classic but it’s so so so much better than regular Diet Coke. Albeit it more difficult to find, it certainly doesn’t merit bitch behavior by a 4th rate actress.

  7. Maritza says:

With that attitude she is closing doors on herself. Must she be reminded that there are plenty beautiful blond head actresses willing to take her place? Kate Hudson for example.

  8. Ria says:

Michelle, have you had Diet Coke with Splenda? Again, not as good as Classic, but no bitter aftertaste.

As far as KH, she’ll always be alien Izzy from Roswell to me.

  9. Eileen Yover says:

I used to love her on Grey’s. Then after all that crap she said about Knocked Up, I thought it was crappy and took her off my “go bi for the night list.” Don’t mess with my toilet humor movies! Oh, and quit being an ungrateful bitch.

  10. Wonder Woman says:

And I really liked her, why she has to be a bitch for?

  11. NotBlonde says:

Diet soda is horrible for you, by the way. You’re better off drinking the real stuff in the same quantities. You’ll get less sugar from diet soda, but more chemicals that are concentrated enough to clean off a dirty penny in a day or so. We did that experiment in one of my science classes in middle school. I never drank diet soda again.

Anyway, I know from personal one-on-one experience that this chick is rude as hell. She’s burning tons of bridges and I expect she’ll be a nobody within the next 5 years.

  12. michellle says:

    Thanks Ria.
Do you add your own Splenda or it a version you can buy already mixed?

  13. photo jojo says:

Michelle – it’s in cans and bottles.
Eileen – I am LOL @ “go bi for the night!”

  14. Scorpiogal says:

I like my Pepsi Max personally…no icky aftertaste, and more caffeine!

  15. Jess says:

All that smoking is starting to show on her.

  16. Jacks says:

Pepsi Max is soooo good – totally agree! Cherry Coke Zero is also really good. ANYWAY, I’m not a huge astrology junkie or anything, but I do think that the stuff holds some weight and I happened to work with a woman who has the same birthday as KH (11/24) and she was almost identical personality-wise. She said what she thought, regardless of how offensive it was to people, which definitely got her in some trouble at times. However, one positive thing I will say is that she was very loyal and would stick up for the people she really cared about… not that I think that makes it ok for her to be a bitch to everyone else, but it would explain why she has a close-knit group of friends and family that have stuck by her.

  17. Jobie says:

Didn’t recognize the name at all until I saw a picture of her…too funny.

  18. Julia says:

    Little bitch!

  19. Ron says:

Another day in Hollywood. If you think that this doesn’t happen daily with female and male stars you would be wrong. I have had it personally happen to me on set with a NUMBER of different celebs. It’s just that I don’t take it personally and don’t call up Pigez Hilton and blab about it. Many actors when they are working do not want to be chatty, they are doing their job and concentrating on their lines, delivery, marks etc etc I understand that. When you are writing a report at work you don’t want Tammy from accounting to come over and tell you about her pap smear now do you. It’s distracting.

  20. michellle says:

Thanks photo jojo. & thank you Not Blonde, just hearing about that experiment made a vivid impression on me too.

  21. michellle says:

Tammy & her pap smear – that kills me.

  22. becca says:

Ron: We don’t know whether the people around her were trying to talk to her about things that weren’t about work or not.

Eh, I can’t stand her anyway. I used up my patience on people with an air of self-entitlement on my freshman roommate.

  23. Dirty Martini says:

I really liked that Coke Light thing they did….you know, 1/2 the calories, 1/2 the carbs. It didn’t last long though.

    (sigh)

Oh yeah….about that Heigle wench…..she’s not all that, so she shouldn’t be asking for all that.

    Just sayin’…..

  24. Katzfanatic says:

Coke Zero rules! So much better than Diet.

  25. hellocatty says:

diet dr pepper is what does it for me.

  26. MT says:

    Knocked Up was totally “sexist”.

finally an actress who stands up to the “old boys” establishment of Hollywood and speaks up when she sees sexism, so I thank her for speaking up.

All the other actresses are so lame- they wouldn’t say a word, just so they would keep getting more work and potray more sexist visions.

I wish more actresses would have actually thought about the messages that films send and criticize sexist views.

3 cheers for Katerine the great for doing the right thing.

  27. MT says:

and by the way, she will continue to be a movie star- because people LIKE her and she is charming.

She has an audience who thinks she is charming and real, so they will buy tickets, and that is what will count.

Nobody cares if she is someone at the production company thinks she’s a diva. People want to be entertained, and that doesn’t sound like a big deal to me.

  28. Cas says:

    Please don’t drink Coke Zero!!

Seriously just google it and see how bad it is for you! These diet drinks have so many dangerous additives that it is much better to just drink smaller quantities of the original drink.

  29. blinkingblythe says:

I think my grandmom wore that outfit in the 1970s. What is it with “divas” that look like they just got off from work at the public library? The 1980s looked so much better and even then, the stars were not as bitchy.
