Duchess Kate repeats a Jenny Packham gown for St. Andrews gala: lovely?

wenn22004257

And finally, here are the photos of Duchess Kate and Prince William’s final evening event for their whirlwind American trip. They attended the St. Andrews 600th Anniversary Dinner at the Metropolitan Museum of Art last night. This was probably the best photo event from their entire trip – they seemed to actually spend some time posing for photos on the MmoA steps.

Duchess Kate did a repeat! This dress is Jenny Packham, and she wore back in February of this year, to an event in London. Remember these photos? It was the first time the Queen allowed Kate to borrow some major diamonds from the royal collection and Kate’s sausage curls sort of ruined the look because we couldn’t even see the jewelry. Kate didn’t make the same mistake last night though – she finally pulled her hair back for a sophisticated evening event, hallelujah. And Kate once again had some bling to show off: her earrings are MAJOR diamonds and emeralds. According to the royal reporters, these rocks are not “borrowed”. They were a “private gift.” Oh, and there’s a matching bracelet? YES.

As for the fact that Kate re-wore a dress that she originally wore when she wasn’t pregnant… I’m not really surprised. She’s not showing that much and the waist on this gown is pretty high. High enough to accommodate her small bump. I do wish she’d worn something we hadn’t seen before, especially since we know she’s got a closet full of clothes we’ve never seen, but whatever. The Packham is pretty and I like it more on its second outing than the first.

Here’s a better look at her earrings:

I think she looks great for this engagement. Hair back, nice gown, good color, elegant, lovely earrings.

    • LadySlippers says:

      •Someonestolemyname•

      Agreed.

I went back and forth about whether or not I liked her not wearing a necklace, but I decided that I was so thrilled with her gorgeous updo and statement earrings, that I didn’t mind. 😊

Her last two outfits worked for me, as well as her arrival outfit (purple tweed).

    • LadyMTL says:

ITA, I love this look on her. It’s a color she rarely wears, and the earrings are so spectacular that she really doesn’t need a necklace…it would just take away from those massive emeralds.

And personally, I don’t care that she repeated a dress. I repeat dresses I love all the time, lol.

    • Stef Leppard says:

      Beautiful!

    • Santolina says:

      ITA. Stunning!

    • Lahdidahbaby says:

      Best look yet for Kate.

  2. Christina says:

Repeat gown or not, she looked divine…

    • Esmom says:

Agreed. That dress is beautiful, so flattering, and everything’s working so well together.

      • Angelique says:

I agree. It is one of my favorite gowns. The fit is all wrong. Compare the fit around her torso and shoulders with the last time she wore it. This was an event tjhat she should have chosen a “maternity” gown.

      • Eleonor says:

The colour, I am in love with the colour of this gown.

  3. OriginalTessa says:

Best she’s looked in awhile. A little weight, her hair back… much better.

    • LadySlippers says:

      •OriginalTessa•

She looked radiant and in love. William looked attentive too which I adore (he rarely lets himself look in-love so I like it when he shows us his softer side).

      • notasugarhere says:

The video is a bit different from the stills. Just like the posed arm-around-the-wife outside the hotel — lasted 2 seconds. He helped her down the stairs at this event but not up them? How gentlemanly.

      • LadySlippers says:

        •notasugarhere•

He’s been publicly attentive all throughout the NYC tour and we didn’t see much of it on the Australia/New Zealand tour.

I’m glad he is being attentive, as apparently he’s very attentive in private. So I honestly think he needs to get over his issues with the British press and be just as attentive home. Kate deserves that.

      • LNG says:

He offered her his hand walking up the stairs, but she was concentrating on holding her dress up with both hands so she wouldn’t trip.

      • FLORC says:

        LadySlippers
In person even less so. Aquaintances saw them there and thought William was on point, but in work mode. His guard never dropped. In his homeland it’s his “sandbox” and his rules so his guard drops more often. This was all appearance sake. That was the impression though.

  4. paola says:

I can’t concentrate on her. I’m mesmerized by her earrings.

    • someonestolemyname says:

Yes earrings were a gift, according to Palace, but I don’t know from where or whom.

      • Angelique says:

        She should give them back.

      • Olenna says:

Agree. I like the dress this time around, but those earrings are just OTT and don’t compliment her or the gown’s style and color. Sorry, but not everyone can pull off big statement pieces like these earrings, especially if the stones are colored.

      • FLORC says:

I was thinking the same. Gorgeous and great she showed them off, but they don’t go with the dress at all.

      • bluhare says:

For what it’s worth I think the earrings with the emerald were an attempt to coordinate with the kilt tartans which were blue and green.

    • bluhare says:

And how they must be pulling on her ears! Looking at those, as fab as they are I think I’d be dying to get them off if it were me.

      • Angelique says:

You know how people’s ears get longer as they age? Well…from a distance Waity’s ears are hanging pretty low.

      • notasugarhere says:

If they’re platinum (like Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara), they would at least be lighter than gold or silver.

      • FLORC says:

        Nota
But tarnish and dent much more easily. I can’t like platinum. Just because it’s of a limited quantity doesn’t make it good. Gold all the way. It’s value stretches further than appearance.

    • wolfpup says:

Her jewels – Balissima! (kisses fingers!) She had to have had help on how to strategize those, because she did get it right. Perfect! Brava for not putting a necklace there as well.

      • LadySlippers says:

        •wolfpup•

Are you Italian my dear? 😃

      • Feeshalori says:

Yes, Kate did make the wise decision of not pairing a necklace with those huge danglers. It would have been too cluttered and drawn attention from them. I don’t care that this gown is a repeat; it looks much better on her than the prior time and she looks positively glowing.

        Bellissima, indeed!

      • MinnFinn says:

I would not complain if she added a diamond necklace. But then I love the mid century OTT bling of QE and Margaret. Even better was Queen Mary before that.

As for this set, I bet there is a matching necklace. And I bet a Saudi royal gave the set to Kate as a wedding gift.

      • Feeshalori says:

Yes, those royal ladies knew (know) how to wear major bling. Camilla pulls it off well, too, with statement earrings and necklace and a tiara thrown in. She also has the bearing and stature for all that jewelry. And I’ll also bet that there are other pieces to this emerald set, too.

      • wolfpup says:

LS, no, but my first husband had those dark, Italian good looks. My pedigree is Welsh, with auburn eyes and dark hair and very white skin; a virtual snow white with lipstick. I would look stunning in jewels – I bet we all would! I would love to have a party for all of us, and *we would need jewels*…it’s just a matter of access… We could help each other look great – I’d trust you folks to be my stylist!

  5. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Beautiful gown and worth a repeat. Love her hair up. You know I’m all about major bling but those earrings aren’t especially beautiful to me – something about the proportion makes them look clunky and heavy, even though I’m sure they cost a fortune. Oh well.

    • Angelique says:

Strange choice of jewelry. She was just attending a college fundraiser, not a coronation.

    • HH says:

I really like the earrings, but I wish she would have worn them with an outfit that makes the emerald color really “pop.”

  6. Angela says:

Do my eyes deceive me or did she actually dial it back on the eyeliner just a little for once?

    • someonestolemyname says:

I think she looks great, but the same eyeliner is still there IMO, but it works for the evening event and earrings.

      • LadySlippers says:

        •Someonestolemyname•

Yup, I agree. Her make-up is usually much more suited to nighttime wear vs daytime/business wear. Although I’d like a bit more lip colour at night… Lol. Wistful thinking on my part! ☺️

    • wolfpup says:

I wondered about her eyeliner too – particularly in US photos. The eyeliner is so awful, I wonder how much of it is photoshopped. Iit did appear that it was lighter in some of the photos to me. I don’t believe that US outlets would add additional liner, to add definition to her eyes, because it is so old-fashioned here. And it’s not very professional.

  7. Tig says:

What gorgeous earrings-I love emeralds! The gown looks great on her- all around good!

  8. Feeshalori says:

Oooh, statement earrings and a matching emerald bracelet. Nice to see Kate ratchet up her jewelry game and with her hair up you can really get an eyeful of those luscious earrings. She does look so much better with her extra weight and the neckline showcases her lovely neck and shoulders. Diana’s sapphire and pearl choker would look magnificent with that gown; hopefully we’ll see it one day.

    • LadySlippers says:

      •Freeshalori•

I don’t wonder if Harry got the sapphire broach in exchange for the engagement ring… I’m guessing they must have ‘traded’ something as it was reported that William received her watch and Harry getting the ring. Another possibility, they are waiting until Harry marries to divy up Diana’s bling…

And Diana paired the broach (QM gave her the broach as a wedding gift) with her pearl choker — so what you described is actually two separate pieces (which is all the more exciting!).

      • Feeshalori says:

Yes, I recall reading that because Diana didn’t wear brooches too much she converted QM’s gift into the centerpiece of that magnificent pearl choker. I think that’s got to be my favorite of all her pieces and it wouldn’t surprise me if Harry has it for his bride. One way or another, I do hope we get to see it down the road.

And one tiny correction, LS. I’m FEEshalori, not FREEshalori. Just keeping it straight for the record! 😉

      • FLORC says:

Wasn’t it a nearly even trade? The ring for a cartier watch?

And I’m all for Kate not wearing Diana’s iconic pieces. Diana had lovely jewelry, but that’s tied to strongly to her. Kate has yet to own any look. Things wear her and not the other way around. She needs to blaze her own trail. If it’s just watches and cheap looking, but expensive jewels with the random eternity band that’s her style.

      • Feeshalori says:

Somehow, somewhere, I want to see that sapphire and pearl choker worn by SOMEONE!

      • angelique says:

Sorry LS…I think it was bad enough for Waity to wear Diana’s ring. Only a fool would try to wear her signature pieces. The backlash would be too strong.

      • LadySlippers says:

        •Feeshalori•

Sorry about messing up your name!!!! Repeatedly. 😳

Anyhoo, it’s an easy conversion for the sapphire broach/pearl choker to bring together and take apart.

I too hope we see it again (no matter in what form). It’s too gorgeous to just collect dust somewhere.

        •Florc•

I’m not sure we’ve ever been told just what happened between Harry and William regarding the engagement ring. All I’ve read in a book was William that asked for the ring and Harry willingly gave it. Beyond that — no idea.

        •angelique•

I’m not a fan of anyone wearing Diana’s ring because for a long time — it’ll be so strongly associated with Diana. Even now it’s still Diana’s ring and not Kate’s.

However, the rest of her jewelry is, IMO, a bit different. The sapphire broach could be refashioned a bit so it’s both old and new again and loses its super strong association. Diana also had other pieces that weren’t as strongly tied to her as her sapphire ring or broach. I think with a little creativity we could see her stuff again and be okay with it.

  9. vauvert says:

Finally a good look, the dress, the hair, even the earrings – not my jam but they look good on her with that gown. Now if she could only please let that left hand drop! What is she doing in that first picture, going for a belly cup? Looking for the other hand to hold on to? And it does look like she went a bit easier on the eyeliner, praise be. Will looks a bit disheveled but whatever, never liked him one bit anyway so it doesn’t matter, but at least they are both smiling and seem happy.

    • inthekitchen says:

Yeah, she’s constantly clutching at her crotch. It is gross and looks so awkward. She needs some serious comportment lessons (although the princess lessons did her no good, so it probably wouldn’t matter anyway!).

    • Pearson says:

I think maybe she’s attempting to pull up the hem of her dress so she doesn’t trip down the stairs? I’m sure these photos are taken seconds apart so it just looks strange.

  10. Kara says:

She is definitely having a girl.

  11. scout says:

Bye Duchess, thanks for visiting. See ya!! 🙂

I want that divine Diamond and Emerald dangle, I have a smaller stud earring like that but I want these!!!

  12. SamiHami says:

Those earrings are gorgeous, but they look so heavy they must be uncomfortable.

  13. inthekitchen says:

I just don’t get how that can be the same dress before when she has already had to let out the buttons on that black Remembrance just a week or two later…and it buttoned right about where this dress “waist” is (the velvet ribbon). I’m convinced it’s a duplicate of the one she previously wore. The bodice is too snug to be the same, IMO.

Also , she needs to fire her hairdresser! She has a huge piece of her weave sticking out over/behind her left ear. WTF?!

Do you think she feels sad and confused that William is paying so much attention to her on this trip but then (apparently) disappears from her side for months at a time when they are home, leaving her with her mommy?

    • notasugarhere says:

It is odd that it fits, when she was so bony last time she wore it (see unphotoshopped pictures especially). There is tons of chiffon in it though, with the ruching there might be enough fabric in there to let out, plus a new longer ribbon for the waist? (Off the shoulder, deep v-neck, blue/green. See photos of Diana dancing with Travolta for reference.)

  14. Mrs. Wellen Melon says:

Kate looks like Future Queen Catherine.

    Beautiful

  15. MyLittlePony says:

Finally, some bling to admire! Great look all in all, though not a fan of that kind of hair-do, but the good thing is that the hair is not in her face, and we can actually see the earrings. She looks very pretty. The jewelry kind of has a Middle Eastern feel to it.

  16. UESider says:

I love all of the royal reporters commenting on Twitter about how different William was on this trip, and how much he was playing to the US media… Maybe he feels like he still has a lot of good will over here (thanks to his mother) and relaxed some? Or he was excited to visit a place he’d never been before?

I LOVE that Jenny Packham but… I’m selfishly disappointed she didn’t give us something new. Surely they could have found a dress that was forgiving enough for her itty bump and could still work post-pregnancy?

    • wolfpup says:

I wonder if she realizes that she is on a world stage, and that we have short memories. Either that, or she really likes the gown. She makes so many mistakes, one has to wonder… Honestly, I’ve wondered whether it was Carole and Pippa who are her stylists.

  17. Vava says:

The dress looks better this time around without the curtain of hair falling all over the place. Those earrings look uncomfortable. If they were mine, I’d redesign the setting.

    Goodbye Kate. Don’t come back.

    • Angelique says:

      +1000
      The royal vacay is over!
I wanted to be at the sending off but I had to work.

    • Elizabeth R says:

@ Vava. I’m with you on the earrings; emeralds are my favorite and I have some serious emerald envy, (these are particularly good color emeralds) but not loving the setting. Now mentally redesigning earrings I will never have, sigh.

      • cyndi says:

Emeralds are my absolute favorite gem (aside from diamonds of course) and my daughter was born in May, so the last 19 yrs I’ve gotten all types, shapes, and sizes of emeralds. BH would take her with him when she was really small to pick put my presents. He’d find three he liked and she would point and say, “pity” (pretty) and that’s the one he’d buy. 😃 I must say, even at only a yr old, my girl had **impeccable** taste in emeralds!! 💖

    • wolfpup says:

We don’t like folks coming here merely for publicity – that is, using us and our memorials to further their own causes.

      • cyndi says:

        Oh please

      • Megan says:

And by causes you mean wildlife conservation and mental health support for children? Actually, I welcome them coming here to raise awareness of two very different, but important, causes.

      • FLORC says:

More like Ground Zero. I think that’s what Wolfpup is referencing.

And this happens often. Celebs make high profiled visits to memorials that gets them attention and it ends there.

      • Megan says:

The 9/11 memorial and museum is now an essential stop for many foreign dignitaries when in NYC. Suggesting William and Kate went their for publicity is silly because they would get publicity no matter where they went in the US. They could have to the Central Park Zoo and gotten just as much coverage.

      • angelique says:

I see your point, wolf pup. Waity wore the pink coat for a photo op just like the one in Belguim. Remember the photo of her thoughtfully gazing (thinking about shopping) at a WWII killing field?

Hard to get really good photos when the visit lasts only 30 minutes. Good job, Waity, you managed to forget that the purpose of the memorial was to honor those who died. I remember watching people jump off the roof as an alternative to being burned or crushed as the buildings fell. I’ll never forget.

I’m glad America had the chance to see what these two are all about. Now go back to your itty bitty island.

      Not according to other sources.

“The Duke of Cambridge….is a new breed of royal. Informal, self-effacing and charmingly relaxed in public, he is also a stubborn young man, and he won’t be pushed around.

He is his own man. That’s why he’s not afraid to let his hair down when on royal duty. … Stuffy protocol and enforced formality is an anathema to William. If people don’t bow or use his correct title, it does not worry him as it would other members of his family.”

      • Lisa Danielle says:

William, relaxed in public and at official events? What kind of fanfiction is this?

      • LadySlippers says:

        •Lisa Danielle•

When (and that’s the key word here) William chooses to engage — he does so beautifully. This might be why he prefers galas over stuffier events.

      • LadySlippers says:

        More comments stating the same.

        Quote:

A photo of Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James with his arm around Kate continued to grab headlines, but while some balked at a possible breach of etiquette protocol, the palace says no offense was taken.

“Kate and William are both casual. They are not stuffy,” said Murphy. “I think they like it when people relax around them and are able to be themselves.”

      • Jessica says:

Ha! William is all about stuffy protocol and enforced formality. Princess Anne is the only member of the family who is more petty about all that rubbish.

He’s different in the US because he gets to just be an adored celebrity, not a public servant who’s actually expected to do something.

    • angelique says:

I think LS works for Waity’s new PR guy.

  18. justme says:

I think she looks lovely. I am disappointed that William didn’t take the opportunity to wear a kilt!!

  19. Redheadwriter says:

She looks great! And she can’t win for trying sometimes — if she repeats something, folks state they want something new. If she wears something new, folks talk about how much she spends/shops all the time.

  20. The Original Mia says:

I’m in the minority, but those earrings don’t do it for me. But I’m loving the bracelet. The dress is pretty and definitely looks better on her with the added weight.

I don’t know what possessed William to act the way he has this trip, but this William would go a long way towards regaining his popularity if he acted this way at home. But…knowing this is William and his disdain for the UK press, he’ll be back to grumpy, sourpuss as soon as he lands.

With that said…bye bye. Be off with the two of you. Please let it be a long time before you return.

    • wolfpup says:

Or come bearing gifts for your hosts.

      • angelique says:

Quite true. It seems they are always accepting them. Did Bill Middleton give anything to POTUS or just waste his time?

      • Megan says:

Why would William give Obama a gift? The meeting was to discuss illegal wildlife trade. Several states are cracking down on the import of ivory, but a larger move at the federal level is needed. If you are unfamiliar with the issue , please visit the Huamne Society of the United States website for more info.

      • notasugarhere says:

Megan, it is tradition for them to exchange gifts at these meet-and-greets. There was a list floating around somewhere of what HM and Obama exchanged the last time they met too.

      • Hazel says:

He did. He brought the usual BRF gift–a framed photo of himself (in this case, his little family). I always contrast this with the booty they receive when they travel to the Arab world, gold & precious gems vs…a framed photo.😜

  21. Tiffany says:

For an institute that is over 600 years old and am pretty sure has some successful alumni, I would be a little embarrassed that the most famous is a waste of space that barely graduated and Kate Middleton. This is what she is known for and nothing else. Sad, the both of them.

    • wolfpup says:

I wonder if they don’t seem very bright, because they don’t listen to their advisors.

    • Megan says:

You can shade William’s academic performance, but the reality is that only he and Prince Charles are the only members of the BRF to have earned the U.S. equivalent of a 4 year degree.

      • LadySlippers says:

        •Megan•

Kate, like William, graduated with an upper class second degree (2:1) from St Andrews.

      • Megan says:

Sorry, I was referring to the family members, not spouses.

      • notasugarhere says:

Prince Edward, Cambridge, BA in History

Princess Beatrice, Goldsmiths (U of London) BA in History and History of Ideas

Princess Eugenie, Newcastle University, BA in English literature and history of art

Peter Philips, Exeter, BA in Sports Science

      • megan says:

A BA is the equivalent of the 2 year degree in the US.

      • notasugarhere says:

No, they are a 3-5 year undergraduate bachelors in the UK system.

      • Hazel says:

Pretty sure Edward got a degree–was his only a three-year BA? And I think Charles only got a BA at Cambridge, too.

    • angelique says:

In America, a Bachelors degree typically takes 4 years to complete. Then students can continue with a Masters degree, typically 2 years, and then a Ph.D which usually requires at least four more years.

The trend in higher education these days is that the Bachelors degree is now considered a “starter” degree. That is, to be competitive in a profession, a person really needs at least an additional 2 years of post-graduate work.

So in America, Cathy and Bill Middelton’s degrees are quite unexceptional. In fact their degrees would be considered “minimal”.

  22. Shambles says:

That close-up, side view photo is amazing- the hair, the jewels, the face all look radiant. And the extra weight looks fantastic on her- I see a little booty curve going on! Go Kate! I feel like most of the time she can’t win no matter what she wears, says or does so I’m glad to see her getting a little more love than usual 😊

    • wolfpup says:

Shambles, when she does it right, she gets kudos.

It’s the snobbishness of the royal family that bothers Americans the most, I think. Such as, telling our media how they need to appear in the photograph’s. It made the couple look like they were surrounded by very important people – not just anyone. It made them look better.

      • LadySlippers says:

        •wolfpup•

Have you not seen that was not the case? I can post links if you want but there are plenty of stories (past and present) that refute the snobbiness case. Including William and Kate.

      • angelique says:

        LS–
You can post as many links as you want. Nearly every person on earth will never meet Waity and her horse. Virtually everyone’s opinions about the lazy duo are formed via the news media. So for every positive link or quote you post, there is at least one or more link that is negative. So Wolfpup can have an opinion without you trying to change it.

BTW I am assuming you are from somewhere in the UK. Here’s a thought…most Americans form opinions about people based on what that person has achieved, created, offered. Most Americans don’t care about the gruesome twosome and it’s their own fault. So far I have not seen either done anything of merit. Hence, my opinion. They made their bed…

      • wolfpup says:

The whole concept of royalty and blue blood, is the ultimate in snobbishness. Wilkate’s free ride in the world, doesn’t work well for me, either. Add to that, the manipulation of the press – I simply end up with major eye-rolling,

Apparently the problems with the African animals is not going away. They might try another tack – and feed the people who use them as income .

      • bluhare says:

Ladyslippers is American, and I disagree with her on this one as well. I think the royals are very snobbish although they try to hide it. There are plenty of anecdotes about royals flinging their weight around and requiring curtseys, etc., including one about William yelling at the help for not giving Kate proper respect. Quite different in tone from the “call us William and Catherine articles when they first got married.

      • LadySlippers says:

        •angelique•

        I’m American born and bred.

And honestly, I’m trying to balance the arguments here because I could care less whether they are or aren’t snooty. My point is there ARE positive articles out there and not everything is black or white. I’m also well aware of the negative aspects too. I’ve posted those links as well. And read numerous books, articles, blogs, and forums myself. I don’t accept any one thing as ‘correct’ until I’ve read a variety of opinions on both sides of an argument. I think William (for example) can be both fantastic, warm, open, etc. etc. while at the same time be a frustrating, stubborn turd. He is human afterall.

Also, people conflate my posts with my opinion and sometimes they don’t match. Sometimes they do. But there’s more than meets the eye here. Lots more. Hopefully, others will be encouraged to make their own opinion after reading the various sides. Or want to research it for themselves. That’s why I post links.

Thanks my dear for the support. I appreciate it.

TBH, the BRF can be terrifically unsnobby over certain things and be uptight over something equally inane. So, I don’t think they are all one thing or another. Although, Andrew is supposedly snobbier than most. So there’s that.

Those who say she can’t win no matter what are only remembering the bad comments. She receives more praise than not. Simple truth is she gets kudos for wearing hair out of face, doing any event, proper outfit, etc…
She can and does win if winning is defined by how many praising comments she gets here.

smaragd earrings + bracelet together with a blue dress and a sapphire ring? Green vs blue? I like the dress (although it makes her shoulders look wide), but the different jewels! No thanks. That´s why i hate colourful engagements rings. IMO you have to wear compatible jewellery when it comes to such big pieces. When you mix big stones in different colours and styles it looks like Halloween costume jewellery.

+1 I was thinking the same thing, no way that emeralds go well with a blue dress. It’s so sad when you have access to that kind of bling that you can’t style it to save your life. Wasted really. It does look like costume jewellery and it makes the dress look cheap.

  24. Amy says:

The dress is actually a three-peat, she wore it once before the time with the blingy necklace. However I love this dress and the color so I don’t mind the repeated wearings. I like it better than that other dress she’s worn several times which is the long black lace one (which also may be Jenny Packham but I can’t remember).

I’m over hating on them, her family, her style, her makeup and body and speculating about their relationship.

William made his choice and Kate is getting exactly what she wants. Good for them because most people do not. I hope they make the monarch proud, have healthy productive children and a wonderfully happy long fulfilling life together.

I don’t hate these two – but I am no fan of the status that they seem to pursue so relentlessly.

The little Princess on the way (total wishful thinking) appears to be making her presence very known in the second to last pic! I think the gown and jewels look lovely 🙂

I hope we get to see a lot more of Kate’s pregnancy fashions this time around. She stayed pretty hidden away for the most part?while she was expecting little George. It felt like we really only saw pics of her once or twice every few months during her spotty charity appearances.

I like the pieces separately not so much together. I don’t htink I would have put emeralds with that shade of blue. Well not so much the dress either, just not my style. But it does look better this time around since her hair isn’t covering everything like the last two times. Also, I think the bump balances it more cause that neckline makes her very shoulder-y.

  28. Aurelia says:

Hmmm, like designer clothing which kate also manages to make look cheap, she makes this ear bling look like fake costume jewellery.

They were a gift, probably from Butler and Wilson in London and are fake glass bought by cheap willie.

And what the hell would Jenna Lyon’s from J crew have to talk about with such a satorial mess as waity K? I like to imagine she is saying something like ” Ghirrrl, you better werk. Call me, I can help. Stop using this Tasha chick and Mumma Karole Midds as your de facto stylists”

    • FLORC says:

All I have to say is the best jewels look fake. The less flaws there are the “cheaper” things look.
Remember Wiz’s engagement ring to Amber Rose? It was flawless or very nearly so and looked fake as a result.

  29. Aurelia says:

And another thing, I want you to know I think of Waity as only 1 up from Sarah Ferguson.

Sorry to be the voice of dissent here, but I really do not love this gown and I haven’t the other two times she’s worn it. Some of her Jenny Packham choices all are alright, but this is snooze level 10.0. I don’t find it very modern, fashionable or exciting; but then again, those are the words I’d use to describe her style in the first place. Personal preference, maybe, but I feel like at an event where people were paying $10,000 just to sit at a table in the same room as her & William (!), she could’ve pulled out something a lot more spectacular; a dress worn two times before and some gifted jewelry does not make the cut. Style disappointment for sure!

  31. someone says:

I’d rather she didn’t repeat dresses but I’d also hate to see her blamed for spending too much money if she always wore new ones. Kind of a lose/lose situation for her.

I love her hair tied back.

    Gorgeous

Its a Jenny Packham… i would wear it everyday.
