The American Country Countdown Awards took place in Nashville last night. They were hosted by Florida Georgia Line and featured performances by Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, and Miranda Lambert, among many others. I’ve never heard of the ACCAs and that’s because this is the first year they’ve happened. It seems like new awards shows are cropping up all over the place. You can see the winners and nominees here.
First off we have country queen Carrie Underwood in a tight white Ashdon gown featuring one sleeve and sheer cutout panels with gold beading. Carrie is very pregnant at this point, and she looks uncomfortable like she’d rather be at home in her sweatpants. I give her a lot of credit for putting on her game face and getting out there. She is a trooper. This is not my favorite dress in that it’s not particularly interesting or fashion-forward. I find it kind of cheap looking, but she’s gorgeous as usual.
Later on in the night Carrie changed into this voluminous blue Leanne Marshall gown which is much more suited to her. She performed a medley of her hit songs. (You can see her performance here.) The layers on this dress are so well draped that you can barely tell that she’s pregnant.
Miranda Lambert also had two different looks last night. On the red carpet she wore this Alon Livné black gown featuring a leather bodice with artfully cut flame-like details. This is so sexy and flattering. For her performance she changed into a shorter dress with similar cutouts along the bustline and tassels down the hem. It’s amazing how much different Lambert looks with curled hair and wearing a shorter dress. She should stick to sleek hair. Lambert performed with Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson, you can see their performance here. Miranda took home the award for Female Vocalist of The Year.

Ugh totally agree! Between that and the whole peplum thing, I just don’t understand why people think that it looks good!
Agree, especially about the peplum thing…I wore peplums in the late 80s. Not everything should make a return engagement.
Why? It has a bad girl that just don’t care kind of a vibe, and I think there’s always an element of- let’s say at least the risk that something dangerous might happen to that sort of a persona. Think of Rihanna teetering on the edge of falling out of a beautiful silk floor length gown. Bad girls can be a bit declasse at times. I think that dress makes her body look hot as all gitup. I find it hard to believe that the first and second pictures of her are both real.
Everybody is entitled to their opinion, of course. I love Rihanna’s bad girl / unapologetic sexiness vibe. It’s not about that. And Carrie looks amazing. It’s not about that, either. Just hate sheer cutouts. I think they make dresses look cheap and I think they’re ugly. I especially hate the ones with nude sheer. I hate coconut, too. Just a preference. Doesn’t mean much.
Coconuts are AWESOME how could you not like them? Pineapples are tha bomb too, I hope you realize.
Lol, I love pineapple. I like coconut milk, but grated coconut makes me gag. It’s a texture thing.
She looks glowing. She’s so pretty in person, saw her once up close , just after she won idol, flawless skin, beautiful hair, such a sweet natural look.
Carrie looks beautiful in that blue dress! Wow, I didn’t think she was that far along…when is her baby due?
Her figure is fantastic even pregnant, but she has always caked too much makeup on for appearances, especially her eye makeup. And she always had that hair that didn’t move with all the pieces in it. same look over and over. I always wanted her to get a softer, younger makeover. But her hair looks softer here.
I totally agree she always looks like an overdone pageant girl. She is beautiful but washing off the make up would do wonders.
She usually does look like a pageant girl so I give her props for this dress. It’s pretty sleek and very flattering. She looks really good here.
Her hair looks as stiff as the Golden Girls hair. Does it even move in the wind? I wonder what she looks like not all made up like this
Love the blue dress, the white one not so much. I’ve seen other pics of this event and the memo seemed to have been to wear dresses that are too tight and at least 2 sizes too small.
What’s really tacky is all these stupid new award shows. It diminishes the impact of the older established ones
I wouldn’t say she is in the “very pregnant” stage, probably around 5.5 to 6 months.
The only dress I like here is Carrie’s blue Leanne Marshall. Agree with all the comments about how Carrie would be even more beautiful if she toned down the makeup for appearances. The makeup makes her look older than she is, too. She sounded great on the show.
Didn’t like either of Miranda’s looks. It starts with the skin – at least she doesn’t look orange but her tan still doesn’t look natural. It feels like she was going for a sexy dominatrix look and landed on tacky instead. Maybe because the posing is off. Miranda’s solo performance was not so good but her performance with Kelly Clarkson and Reba was great.
She always looks like TOO MUCH stiff hair and Makeup by the Trowelful BUT she’s been dressing better than her usual ruffles frothy prom in Nashville dresses and and and Also Kudos for not beating us upside the head to death with this pregnancy, her new found “expertise” and Joint Bellycupping pics and pap strolls
I like Miranda’s hair curled or waved or whatever better than straight. It looks really thin when it is straight.

Long dresses suit Miranda better, I think. And I like Carrie’s blue dress but not the white. I’m not a fan of cutouts either.
