Octuplet mother’s PR rep says “The woman is nuts”

You know a person has problems when their own public relations team starts talking smack about them. It happened to Heather Mills, and now it’s happening yet again to Nadya Suleman, otherwise known as Octomom. (A nickname I hate, since it makes her sound like some kind of superhero, which she clearly is not.) Suleman has burned through public relations rep number two in a matter of weeks.

Octo Mom Nadya Suleman is without a publicist — again.

Victor Munoz tells Usmagazine.com that he quit as Suleman’s rep Friday night.

“It just got to be too much,” he says. “It’s pretty much a free for all over there right now. They are freaking out right now.

“Not to sound arrogant, but those people depended on me for everything,” he continues. “You have no idea what I’ve had to do for these people.

“Nadya got real greedy. This woman is nuts,” he adds. “This I can say: what ultimately destroyed the business arrangement was personal reasons.”

Munoz — who plans to meet with his lawyers Monday to go over the terms of his contract and confidentiality clause — did not go into further detail.

Suleman’s first publicist, Joann Killeen, stepped down after her firm received over 100 graphic e-mail and voicemail threats.

[From Us Weekly]

That sounds like a job from hell. There’s no saving this woman’s horrible public image because she’s her own worst enemy. It seems like every day – hell, every hour – there are new, unsavory facts coming to life about this woman and her family. It’s a PR rep’s worst nightmare. There’s no way to stop things like those tapes from a 911 call from hitting the papers – not the way today’s media works. But to have to deal with a crazy client and get death threats for it? Forget it. It’s not worth it.

we haven’t heard anything on the house or the ‘babies’ release and it should be about time for both.
    right?

  2. Cougar says:

Nadya sure does love her some Starbucks!

  3. SolitaryAngel says:

I hate to feel so gleeful that things are not going smoothly in Nadya-Land because of the children. I fully expect them all to be removed from this woman’s custody, and the babies not be given INTO her custody at all. So, in light of my beliefs, let me just say…MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I’ve stocked up on popcorn & drinks for the show; wonder who’s gonna be crazy enough to sign her on THIS time?

  4. Lina says:

Her PR people can quit anytime they want but what about her parents and her 6 other kids?

  5. barneslr says:

Lina-her parents quit too. Her dad is going out to the middle east to work and her mom is deliberately allowing her house to go into foreclosure in order to get the crazy chick out. There is no question that all 14 kids need to be removed from her and placed in stable homes. I’m just wondering why we are not hearing about any movement in that direction form CPS.

  6. nanster says:

I really feel for Nadya’s parents. None of us know the part that they really played in this debacle, but regardless, they shouldn’t have to raise this lunatic’s children. Have you seen them? They are not young and are going to have to spend their “golden years” raising 14 children. If I were them, I would probably just “disappear”. As for Nadya herself, she is her own worst enemy. She needs to keep her mouth shut and stay out of the limelight.

  7. MhjmC says:

And they are just realizing this??? Those poor kids .. I feel for them!!

  8. lway says:

Wipe your mouth Nadya, white foam around your lips – i can see the rabies from here!!

Oh and get your shoes to invite your pants – for goodness sake!

  9. Lise22 says:

Any which way I look at this I still want to blame the doctor who implanted 6 eggs into a woman who already had 6 kids. They are both nuts. She is living in the twilight zone hoping that she will get a deal like Jon and Kate plus 8, another couple who milked there children for all they could get.

  10. Justalark says:

@ nanster: “She needs to keep her mouth shut and stay out of the limelight.”

Of course any sane (which is the keyword here) person would come to that conclusion. Unfortunately the reason Nadya had this litter of children in the first place is because SHE WANTS TO BE IN THE MEDIA AND SHE CRAVES THE LIMELIGHT! Hence the plastic surgery, the glamorous fake nails, the long, dramatic hair, etc…

  11. Codzilla says:

I hate it when she purses those grotesque lips. She’s disgusting on every level.

If CPS was planning to remove the children, I’m guessing they wouldn’t discuss the matter with the media, first. I don’t know anything about the process, though, so I could be wrong.

  12. cheekemunkey says:

I fnnd she’s well suited to the term “Octomom”. Gallery of the Absurd did a hilarious parady of it:

  13. Wow says:

This woman has her issues, but I’m starting to think these PR people around her are greedy leeches as well. There’s something about how this guy is going about this that makes me feel as if he is in this for publicity for himself and not to help her as he claimed. Anyone familiar with this case knows this woman isn’t wrapped too tight and he is JUST NOW realizing it? Seems shady.

When the first PR agency left, they seem to have handled it more professionally stating they were getting death threats. But this guy is straight out the gate verbally attacking Octo in the press. He comes off as a petulant child who didn’t get his way (more $$$$) and is now bad mouthing Octo when he was singing her praises like not even a week ago.

She’s irresponsible and he’s unprofessional. Great combo.

Why does she have a PR team anyway? I thought she said she wasn’t doing anymore interviews.

  14. sissoucat says:

    Lise22: I totally agree.

Why is there such a ruckus about this poor lunatic of a woman, and not a word about her allegedly sane doctor ?

And without the example set by Jon and Kate plus 8, she would have accepted some of the help that came her way.

Poor kids. They need their mom in their lifes, and she’s a deer in this media craze headlights.

  15. Lem says:

wow: she’s doing daily blogs at Radar online in addition to Dr. Bald and what have you.

I watched a few, it’s very sad. She admits to not making it to the hospital everyday (she tries but she’s busy) and even when she makes it to the hospital she doesn’t have time to spend with all of them. She says things like “I fed 2” or “I talked to 4.” I just don’t see how she’ll have time for all 14 children ever. EVER! Especially when the media attention and thus the nannies go away.
I worked for a very brief time in the newborn room at a child center. 14 infants by state lay required 2 adults. It was a horrible job. I too love children but I was often left alone with the 14 infants and holy cow, that’s a lot to have on your plate. Keep in mind these were baby babies. Totally dependant for food, comfort, changing… but they also stayed where I put them, no wandering off. No getting hurt, no climbing, no biting, no banging each other with toys. OctoHo also has 6 older children who will be banging each other with toys, falling down the steps, tripping over nothing and scraping themselves up. Several that will need help with homework. All of which need help w/ feeding and bathing. Most of which need help dressing and going potty. Not even to mention at least one possible 3 autistic children which would throw off the dynamic in even the most functional household.
I personally have moved past hatred (mostly) into what? Pity. I guess. I have a few friends with bushels of children but 14 under the age of 8? Dismay, bewilderment, and an overwhelming sense of dread.

  16. Lem says:

I think a PR rep has a right to say she’s a greedy loon. He was hired to make her look good and she’s not helping. Is it in poor taste? yes. Bad career move. Who call tell? He needs to let it be known it’s not his fault he PR isn’t going well. Better way to achieve that? Probably.

MSAT; love the Heather Mills comparison; some people you just can’t make look good.

  17. stellapurdy says:

Love the sunglasses. Geez, I wonder where I’ve seen them before…

  18. Cougar says:

One more thing about the Starbucks cup permanently attached to her hand. . . .remember when Britney was going through her crazy phase? She had the Starbucks in every picture I saw of her. And the big sunglasses. . . seems Nadya is taking her cues from the tabloids of “how to act celebrity”.

  19. TaylorB says:

“She admits to not making it to the hospital everyday (she tries but she’s busy) and even when she makes it to the hospital she doesn’t have time to spend with all of them. She says things like “I fed 2″ or “I talked to 4.”

‘Not making it to the hospital everyday’

Are you kidding me? She is ‘too busy’ Yet, She makes it to Starbucks, the nail salon, etc. I understand that she has 6 other kids, three of them are disabled, and she wants some ‘me time’ but that is just too bad, she made a poor choice to have more children even though she is jobless and single, it wasn’t some ‘oops I got preggers and I am single’ thing, she did this on purpose which is just about the most narcissitic thing I have ever seen and cruel to the children, all of them. Those other six kids will still be there when she brings home the 8 premies, who require 24 hour care. Who is going to watch them while she is ‘busy’ at Starbucks and the nail salon?

  20. Holly says:

    @Cougar

I imagine its also (for some) a defense technique. Something between them and everyone else. When I had crippling agoraphobia, the only way I could go out for anything was with sunglasses, a heavy scarf, my iPod, a cigarette (in addition to the rest of my clothes of course LOL), and a cup of coffee–just because I felt that conspicuous and needed all kinds of barriers between myself and other people. I didn’t want people looking at me and if they were, I wanted to make sure I was “doing” something.

I imagine she feels awkward and deer in the headlights. Plus, a lot of Californians still believe that Starbucks is like the coolest thing in the world, so you got that too. Starbucks even pays some celebs to shill their shit by carrying it around all the time. I believe Ben Affleck had a deal like that.

  21. the original kate says:

i’ll bet if the nursery had a free starbucks cart she’d make it there every day.

  22. anastasiabeaverhausen says:

Wow: but that’s the catch, isn’t it? If she were halfway sane and reasonable, she WOULD be able to get and keep professional PR representation. But she’s not totally sane and she’s apparently not reasonable and not easy to deal with at all, so she’s getting whoever agrees to do it. The first PR firm was a really decent one, but they bailed, as anyone really decent WOULD.

The second PR firm was not as decent, not as professional, but they smelled dollar signs. Well, even she wasn’t worth it and now THEY have dumped her.

Next she will go to the third-tier PR people. The ones with offices in strip malls who will take just about any Z list celeb. When they dump her? She’s on her own.

    And they will dump her.

I’m also curious about the house and babies situation. My sad prediction is that she will end up losing all of her kids to the state. Not just the eight babies, but eventually all of them. I just don’t see this story ending well at all, never have.

    I hope I’m proven wrong!

  23. Leandra says:

I know someone with twins four months old and a two year old and she’s run off her feet, barely time to brush her hair in the morning. This scenario of Nadya Suliman thinking she can adequately care for 14 children is absurd, even with volunteers. It will soon run thin for the helpers and they will quit as they tire out and have other priorities in their lives. It won’t be so easy to keep drumming up new ones. Take the babies away and have them adopted by loving families with the stipulation they can all re-unite when they get a little older.

  24. anastasiabeaverhausen says:

Yep, Leandra. The biggest family I know has five kids, ages 12 to 1. She’s a full-time mom, he works full-time. Even with the older kids in school, it’s hard. The oldest is physically disabled. The three youngest are not in school yet. She always looks extremely frazzled and distracted. Exhausted. I cannot even imagine and I don’t think Octomom can imagine, either, since she’s never really had to care for the first six full-time. And she hasn’t had to care for the eight babies, either.

  25. anastasiabeaverhausen says:

Is anyone watching these videos on Radar? She’s so awkward and uncomfortable. Her speech is odd, clipped. Why does she only ever have one kid with her? It’s one of the twins.

Oh and she’s a “stronger believer” now. Amazing! That translates to “churches, please give me money, I like God now!”

  26. texasmom says:

Her life choices weren’t great, she doesn’t seem altogether there, and her puffed out lips drive me CRAZY but mostly I feel sorry for her.

At this point, she has all these babies and she has to do for them somehow. I don’t think she really has a choice but to do some interviews, etc., and get some media money. She didn’t mean to have octuplets, she meant to have one more and although 7 young kids with little or no support isn’t a great plan, nobody could really have predicted 14 kids total. I’ve been watching her videos and she says she tries to spend 5 hours a day at the hospital with the babies, and it just boggles the mind that she has just that much time out of the day left for the 8 of them. I mean, it just is physically impossible to do it all. Even if she was married, it would still be impossible for 2 to do it all. Nutty and unappealing as she is, we have to realize that even if this happened to a sane couple, they’d still need help, both hands-on and financially.

I think part of why she irritates everyone so much is the timing of this with our fiscal crisis. We’re a country of “you can have it all, more, more, more!” and she is a weird moral tale of how you can’t. Her poor, innocent little babies are like an object lesson of our culture’s greediness and where it gets you. Be careful what you wish for. . . but the babies are here now and they still have to be taken care of.

  27. anastasiabeaverhausen says:

texasmom, I take issue with the fact that she had six she couldn’t properly take care of. Even if she just had one more, that’s still a few more than she could even care for! Her doctor should have said no, this is unethical. He implanted more than is allowed. I really wonder why we aren’t hearing more about this guy.

  28. Christina says:

wow, i agree with you… this guy sounds very unprofessional…

  29. Lem says:

Today’s video I find bizarre. What’s your take.?
Original Kate: It’s so sad that’s probably true

  30. morgs says:

There is something in the Frappacino Mix. It makes ladies crazy…maybe she has crushed up cheeto bits in there too? Chester always was a heart breaker. I think Paula was singing to him in that “Two steps forward” video.

And if she is getting money from these interviews, the state of California better cut her ass off sooner rather than later.

  31. Aspen says:

I just don’t understand the world we live in when we get comments on Oprah, nationwide news coverage, and DCFS can walk in and remove children from a woman who has a one-time meltdown that involved yelling at her children in a parking lot…but we can’t remove children from the homes of crack addicts, child molesters, and lunatics like this piece of work.

I don’t understand it. At. All.

  32. texasmom says:

anastasiabea, I am in no way claiming that having 7 kids with no way of supporting them was a good idea! It’s just that it isn’t quite as bat-sh!t crazy as having 14, which she couldn’t have actually foreseen.

You are, of course, right about the doctor who was in on this. And her last pregnancy, too for that matter — four kids were beyond her means and ability, too!

Her situation is so bizarre because it is so far beyond what anyone could manage even if they weren’t out of it the way she is. I try to imagine what I would do in her situation, but of course I would never BE in her situation because I’m not insane!

  33. JayBird says:

I like the “Octomom” moniker because it makes me imagine some freaky octopus – with Nadya’s head – that’s grabbing for as many babies as it can, while laughing maniacally.

    Sort of like this:
    http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2ajqr1x&s=5

I never thought I’d say it, but I honestly LOVE Heather Mills in comparison to this woman.

Try not to be overcome with jealousy by my insane graphic skills.

  34. Yae says:

WEll I read she’s moving into her $500,000 home. This is SO wrong on SO many levels and so utterly unfair to all the responcible single mothers. I usually have a mouthful to say. But as a single mother to ONE child who gets absolutely NO help from ANYONE. And she gets a free team of in-house nurses at a cost of over $120,000 a month. Sh-t I never even had a BABYSITTER for my kid til he was 9 months. /puke

  35. Katie says:

It also sounds like a publicist that shouldn’t have a job.

  36. nag says:

Has anyone called family services to investigate the woman and her situation considering if children are at risk?

  37. santacruz says:

…this woman is The Joker’s doppelganger!!!!!

  38. Name Octomum reminds me of octopus.Jokes apart this woman is not really worth discussing. What’s her claim for fame,,producing 8 children and telly goes to 14 up till now.I feel pity for this lady.
