Controversial opinion: Robin Wright prefers to date douchebags and angry guys. That’s her “type.” Coming on the heels of Robin’s ex-husband throwing significant shade at her and their marriage, sources close to Robin confirm that she’s back “on” with Ben Foster in every way. Robin and Ben called off their engagement and broke up last November, when sources claimed Robin was finding Ben “kind of immature” (he’s 14 years younger than her). But by the Golden Globes, they were back on. They attended the Globes and the Globes after-parties together, and they were in Paris together this week for Paris Fashion Week. And now sources tell Us Weekly that their engagement is back on:
Guess they’re Wright for each other after all! Two months after Us Weekly exclusively revealed that Robin Wright and fiancé Ben Foster had called it quits, a source tells Us Weekly that the lovebirds are once again engaged to be married.
“They are fully back together and really happy,” the insider tells Us of the House of Cards star, 48, and the Lone Survivor actor, 34, who were photographed at the Giorgio Armani Prive Haute Couture show on Jan. 27 in France, engagement ring and all. “Ben is the nicest guy. She knows she has a keeper.”
That’s not to say their relationship is perfect, of course, just that they’re willing to work on it now. “There were a bunch of issues before, a lot because of distance and her schedule, but they are working on them,” the source adds. “It is worth it to be with a guy like this who really cares about her so much.”
For what it’s worth, Ben seemed to be a completely different guy this week at the Armani show in Paris. He was smiling and playful and he just seemed a lot lighter. Sigh… I hope this is okay. If Robin likes angry dudes and d-bags, that’s her business. I hope Ben is on the nicer end of the spectrum. But I’m guessing that they’re probably going to go through a few more breakup and makeup cycles, don’t you? They just seem like that kind of couple.

How was he immature or a douce? The article said back then she worked all the time and wanted to spend weekends with her children (her adult children by the way WTF), and he was left out of the loop pretty much since he worked elsewhere.
Oh, what a douche. He wants a real relationship with his fiancee’ and some focus on him and them as a relationship. Just maybe their issues fall on her too. I guess Robin is perfect.
That is an ice queen if I’ve ever seen one. I know we love to hate Sean Penn, but she married him and stayed married to him for 14 years. Yes, he may be an abusive asshole, but she is…icy cold. She would cut you, let you drop, kick you off the side of the road with one sharp toed boot, and continue about her business, as long as there was no blood on her shoes.
Sean Penn is still an asshole, and has been a documented abuser, so this in no way indicates that he is less than all of that. Just that…damn, she would scare me.
Where has your information about robin come from? Is it insider info, common knowledge?? Sorry I’ve just never heard this before.
To me it’s always seemed like common knowledge. I’m sure I’ve read it multiple, multiple times, and she always appears that way. Icy and in control.
I don’t know about her being cold ,but I never understood why people don’t side eye her more. She got together with Sean Penn not long after he supposedly abused Madonna ,but no one brings it up with with her ,but do with Charlize Theron.

But I do think being in what obviously was an abusive relationship for so long toughened her up. She never gave off that kind of edge when she was younger.
Boy, do I hate to admit this, but I haven’t seen either. She was Buttercup for me for a long time, and I never, ever could figure out what she was doing with Sean Penn. Somewhere along the way, probably due to my overwhelming gossip addiction, she became less Buttercup and more…the woman married to, and then divorced from, Sean Penn.

This is my take as well based on interviews and stuff I’ve read about him. He’s intense when it comes to work and is known to go method but he’s reportedly a sweetheart despite his non-smiley ways.
Whenever I see these two together, Ben reminds me of a young Penn. Likewise, when I see Penn and Theron together, Charlize reminds me of a younger Robin. I think Penn, and Robin have unfinished business.

What happened to him? He isn’t that old but looks like a completely different person from the guy who played Angel on X-Men -Last Stand. Granted that movie is about 9 years old but I don’t think it is a getting older thing, he just looks like he has lived a hard life since then.
