Even though I’d respect Leonardo DiCaprio more if he was trying to woo Rihanna, I really don’t think it’s happening. She’s A) not blonde and B) too “old” for him, considering his cut-off point is 24 or 25 years old. But Leo doesn’t have an official lady these days, and so the tabloids are having fun with it, trying to set him on imaginary dates with random starlets and such. Rihanna who? ‘Life & Style’ has learned that during the ‘Saturday Night Live’ 40th anniversary after-party, sparks flew between Leonardo DiCaprio and ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ actress Dakota Johnson!
During the bash, held at The Plaza Hotel, Leo barely glanced at rumored fling Rihanna. Instead, “he put his arm around Dakota and led her into the grand ballroom,” a partygoer exclusively tells ‘Life & Style.’ “He told her, ‘Let’s go look at all the celebrities.’”
Sounds like a line — but it worked! “Dakota looked like she was trying to play it cool, but you could tell she was thrilled to have his attention,” the witness says, adding that “out of everyone he socialized with, Leo seemed to be the happiest when he was with Dakota.”
“As they walked away, Leo took the lead and guided her through the crowd, and a small smile spread across her face.”
Here’s are some facts: Dakota did attend the SNL anniversary event and she did party with all of those people afterwards. She also broke up with her boyfriend Matthew Hitt, probably a month before the Fifty Shades promotional tour ramped up. Dakota was and is single and ready to mingle. She’s also 25 years old, not as young as Leo’s girlfriends usually, but I could see it. She’s also got that lean, leggy look that he likes. But… she’s not currently a blonde. Do you think if she went back to the blonde, Leo would date her in a heartbeat? Eh. My current theory is that Leo is angling to date Gigi Hadid next (she’s only 19).

Curious, why would anyone want to host SNL anymore since it consistently blows? Contractual obligations? Any press is good press? Masochism? For why??
I would agree that SNL consistently blows w/ one exception: Thought it was really funny for the first time in a long time when Blake Shelton hosted.
I feel like the celestial Magic that once was SNL will officially be dead once Keenan is gone.
SNL has been declared dead after everyone leaves. Chevy Chase. Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi. Eddie Murphy. David Spade. Adam Sandler. Tina Fey. Jimmy Fallon. It will live on. SNL isn’t good to watch live anymore, but the best bits make it as video and people see it that way. If Dakota does well, people will see and know.
How is a girl with zero charisma and personnality supposed to make us laugh on SNL? Who had this wonderful idea to cast her as a host?

I’ve said this in other threads, but she actually has good comedic timing. I liked her on Ben & Kate and in that movie The 5 Year Engagement. But we’ll see if she can hold up as a host of SNL.
I haven’t been lucky enough to see 50 Shades though, so can comment on that.
I agree, she’s just not that interesting, to me. I also don’t find her very attractive at all, either as a blonde or brunette. Photos can hide a lot of flaws. I think they’re just trying to push her as a new young actress, so she’s making appearances to get her name out there. I’m not sure why Leo would want to show her around the floor.

Girl is gorgeous, but what ruin her looks is the awkward and annoying attitude. People in this site talks trash a lot about Kristen Stewart but I think Dakota is much worse than her. The scene at the Oscars red carpet was pathetic. Both Dakota and Melanie Griffith made a fool of themselves, one for her lack of professionality and mommy for not knowing her place and admitting that her hey-times have passed long ago.
At least she knows how to dress, she killed it at the Oscars and at the after party. Great dresses.
Her street style is great, too. And I’d argue that while she might be somewhat low energy she’s less awkward than K Stew was in her early days of promoting Twilight. I think Melanie was more the problem in that exchange than Dakota.

In KStew defense we must note that she is younger than Dakota, and was just a teen when Twilight was released in 2008. I agree that Melanie looked worse than Dakota though, but the girl needs a good PR team ASAP.

I agree with @spaniard. I donìt like Stewart much but she’s better than Dakota on interviews and red carpet. Dakota is 25 and she’s dull and without personality
I really don’t think age has anything to with being awkward on the red carpet. Of course, teens are going to be more awkward than adults, but some people just aren’t comfortable with having a lot attention on them. They are introverted. It’s just her personality. K-Stew isn’t awkward now because she’s used to the red carpets, which will probably be the same for Dakota. I’m 24 and I would be just as awkward as her on the red carpet.
She seems more shy to me than anything else. And reguarding her mom, Melanie had been pretty open about her many issues (substance abuse, OTT plastic surgery, dating sketchy men, low self esteem) so perhaps that has complicated their dynamic over the years. I’m sure they love and support each other, but wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t also some resentment there as well.
Mental illness and/substance abuse in faimly creates issues in and of itself, and now there’s a microscope on them…I think that would be stressful for any family. I worry too, that because her mom was out of it and dealing with her stuff, Dakota might be lacking coping skills, as she probably didn’t have healthy ones modeld for her so much, KWIM? It’s some journey Dakota has embarked upon, I wish her well.

I doubt there is any truth to any of this. I doubt she really broke up with her boyfriend either. She will probably magically reunite with him after this round of Gray promo is over. The studio probably wanted her to appear single so people could speculate.
