Kelly Osbourne leaves Fashion Police, will Khloe Kardashian replace her?

Kelly Osbourne

For much of last week, we discussed the fallout after Giuliana Rancic mocked Zendaya Coleman’s Oscar dreadlocks on E!’s Fashion Police. Kelly Osbourne tweeted her displeasure and threatened to quit unless Giuliana apologized. Giuliana did issue a somber apology that seemed authentic. Then a live audience member revealed how Kelly repeatedly warned Giuliana during the episode’s taping. Zendaya accepted Giuliana’s apology and kept it classy with an eloquent statement. That should have been the end of the story.

But no! There’s more, although I didn’t follow up with this update from the Mail, which said Giuliana took the fall for the weed joke, which she (allegedly) didn’t write: “Giuliana is a stand up person and instead of making excuses or pointing fingers and laying blame, she took it all on herself, she knows she should have been more sensitive and didn’t make any excuses.” This part of the story didn’t jibe with the stuff we already heard, and it sounded fishy to me.

Kelly departed Fashion Police on Friday even though Giuliana apologized. TMZ reported that Kelly had been “at odds” with producers for some time, and they were “up to here” with her. E! issued a statement about how Kelly left “to pursue other opportunities. We would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers.” The show will return on March 30, and E! didn’t drop hints about Kelly’s replacement.

There’s a question of whether Kelly quit or was asked to leave. It was probably the latter. Kelly acted immature by tweeting a threat to quit the show. That’s bad form, and she should know that no one is indispensable at their job. Radar talked to sources who say Kelly “was given the option to quit or be fired. In reality, she was let go.” They say Kelly has been upset ever since Kathy Griffin replaced Joan Rivers “because [Kelly] thought she was going to be the star of the show.” Is that part true? I don’t know. E! was also reportedly peeved that Kelly tweeted about the dreadlocks controversy: “The network stands behind Giuliana and are furious that Kelly bashed her and the show.

E! has a few weeks to come up with a replacement for Kelly, who made the grave mistake of throwing the show under the bus right as the Kardashians secured a 4-year contract with E!. Us reports that Khloe Kardashian is in contention to replace Kelly, as is NeNe Leakes. Do you think they’ll go with Khloe? I’d be willing to bet that Kris Jenner’s fiddling with her voodoo dolls as we speak.

Good Lord, Khloe’s poor Pinocchio butt….

And I would’ve booted Kelly off YEARS ago…she can’t even dress herself. Or accessorize.

    • Josephine says:

Her only real purpose seemed to be to talk about how she was friends with all of these famous people and who much she loved them all. I found her constant need to associate herself with these famous people bizarre and so off-point. The show shouldn’t survive without Joan.

      • Michelle says:

“I found her constant need to associate herself with these famous people bizarre and so off-point.”

This. Kelly is the WORST with the name dropping, its pathetic.

      • Michelle says:

I don’t watch the show, but I used to. I think the whole premise is terrible. Kelly Osborne looked great for a total of 5 minutes before she began looking like a clown again. If they had any dignity, they’d let the show die with Joan. Khloe Kardashian should not be a host but we already know she’ll get the job because the Kardashians practically run E network.

I’m glad to see Kelly go and hope her “star” fades quickly. Her and her mother both love to start with people but have the audacity to flip out over small shit that doesn’t involve them.

    • mernymerlyn says:

I can’t with the butt anymore. It is possible to grow your butt muscles naturally with heavy weights and proper nutrition. But when you do that your thighs, hamstrings and quads develop as well. These girls with these stick thin legs and HUGE asses are laughable!

    • littlestar says:

I winced when I scrolled down and looked at her picture. I wonder if she realizes what a joke she is to people because of her butt? I’m sure she thinks she looks good.

I think Kelly pretty much dug herself a hole. Who is going to hire her now and for what? She’s not exactly someone who is in demand. I predict she’s going to have a hard time finding a steady job now – also due to the fact that she acts extremely unprofessional.

      • Petee says:

Michelle I couldn’t agree more.Just let the show die. There is no saving it.Joan WAS the show and now she is gone.It was always a must see but not anymore.I don’t even have it set on my DVR anymore.Miss you Joan.

  2. Birdie says:

I think she just needed an excuse to leave. Why not cancel it now? If Nene Leakes and a Kardashian are the options now, it can only get worse.

    • Nicolette says:

Exactly. It should have been cancelled when Joan passed away. The show was her and there isn’t a suitable replacement. Kathy Griffin has never uttered a word that I have found funny, and her fashion sense (does she have one?) is no where near Joan’s. The show is done, and it’s just a matter of time. I used to love watching on Friday nights and could always count on Joan for a laugh. Haven’t watched since the end of August. And Kelly? Please. Does she really think she’ll be missed?

    • EC says:

Agreed. I think she was extremely upset when Joan passed, as so many were, and was hesitant to get back to the show so quickly. I’m sure this has been in the works for a while and the weed/patchouli debacle was the last straw.

I actually think she was pretty good at the E! Oscars red carpet coverage – she has a great presence in front of the camera and is good at keeping the conversation moving and doing live commentary. Khloe, on the other hand, didn’t speak up much and wasn’t as natural in the live taping. Makes sense as she doesn’t have as much experience but you need someone who can quickly form opinions, make clear statements about what you like/don’t like, and maybe be clever enough to come up with a joke in the spot. Plus I like her style – it’s wacky and out there but much better than another tight dress with sheer panels. So I guess I’m saying I’ll miss her a bit??

    • Melanie says:

It has been a terrible season so far, and I really like Kathy Griffin. But she’s just not clicking for me. She’s holding back, not her usual mouthy self. She’s been treading carefully to keep that paycheck coming.

Khloe or Nene whatever her name is are both awful candidates. I couldn’t have picked a worse pool to choose from. This show is officially dead to me.

    • homegrrrl says:

Kelly was the alternative somewhat eclectic POV. If it’s Chloe I’ll for sure i won’t tune in to basic b%=tches fashion hour.

  3. Snazzy says:

I have this strange feeling that the Kardashians are taking over the world. I may have to go find a bunker to hide in

    • Brin says:

      +1

    • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

Lol, they’re E!’s mess to deal with. It’s their fault. They should be the only ones to have to pay them now……

    • Josephine says:

Only in the gossip world. I work with teens and young adults who have only a passing notion of who the Kardashians are, and some have no idea at all. It’s easy to think that they mean something because they dominate the gossip pages, but they have no real power. They’re just a product, not a power.

      • Snazzy says:

You just made my day 😀

      • Nicolette says:

Love your comment! I must say I’m surprised that there are teens and young adults who are unaware of their existence. I envy them! Imagine if this bunch had come along before the internet and social media era. We might all have been spared the knowledge of their existence. Ahhhh what a lovely thought.

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

Lol, I only know who they are because I’m on this site. I don’t watch their show or anything. I think the majority of people who watch their show are older people, which is weird to say. Like I was visiting with my godmother a few months ago, and she works in a factory, during the night shift, and she works for like ten days, then she has a week off. Well, the only thing she watches ARE reality shows. While she’s laying in bed half asleep and sore. THAT’S the Kardashian demographic right there.

      • Texased says:

Sadly, Kim’s on the cover of Adweek Magazine, THE source for the advertising industry. 🙁

      • Melanie says:

Like Snazzy, you made my day as well! This is great news for humanity 🙂

  4. lucy2 says:

I don’t know why they ever hired her to begin with, why can’t get they get people with some actual fashion education and experience? Khloe is a horrible replacement but the network has nothing else but the Kardashians these days, so of course they’ll hire her.

    • Nicolette says:

I keep saying it’s going to become the K! Channel. Kris is working her cauldron overtime to make that happen.

    • littlestar says:

They have to make their $100 million they spent somehow worth it!

Khloe was SO dull at the Oscars. Nene at least has some personality to her. Are E and Bravo affiliated at all? Could Nene even go over to E or would that conflict with each channel somehow?

  5. maeliz says:

Kelly is awful with her giggling and she herself has no fashion sense. Now that she’s off the show, she can get rid of that ridiculous grayish purple hair that was said to be part of her contract.

  6. Jay says:

I stopped watching Fashion Police a long time ago. It just feels very mean spirited to me. But for those who like it, I’m sure the prospect of Khloe is a bummer. She’s incapable of saying anything of value, even on a show as vapid as FP. Plus her baby voice makes me want to gouge out my ear drums.

  7. MonicaQ says:

She didn’t get implants. Not at all /sarcasm.

    https://bossip.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/newkhloe.jpg?w=700

  8. NewWester says:

Kris Jenner aka “Lucifer’s Homegirl” will get her way and Khloe will replace Kelly on “Fashion Police” that is a given. Everyone is just playing coy so that the dust settles a bit from Kelly leaving. The real important question is does Khloe’s butt get a separate contract ?

  9. Amy says:

On some level it would be perfect if Khloe took over the spot on Fashion Police, I can’t wait to see her silicone enhanced body mocking someone else’s looks.

Smh, I’m glad there’s nothing I watch on E Network. I will not support that trash pile family.

  10. Mrs. Wellen Melon says:

The show jumped the shark when Joan Rivers passed.

    • Judyk says:

Agree. It needs to pass, too.

    • Kiki04 says:

+1. I stopped watching after Joan died, but I personally could care less that Kelly is leaving. I think she believes she’s a more important part of the show than she really is, and is in for a rude reality soon.

    • GingerCrunch says:

Yep. Joan WAS indispensable in this case. Good luck to Kelly with those “opportunities”.

  11. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Anyone who tweets such negative remarks about their employer should expect a pink slip the next day. I agreed with Kelly’s objections to Julianna’s remarks, but it was unprofessional to publicly threaten to quit. Bye.

    • Snazzy says:

People become very stupid on FB and Twitter, don’t they? And I don’t just mean celebs. It’s society, collectively. Some people use it really well (like Leonard Nimoy (RIP) or Nathan Fillion or Emma Watson), but others just spew stupidities. It’s like they think that because it’s online instead of being “said” in person, it doesn’t count. The harassment, the trash talking, it just confounds me. I’m always careful about what I post on both because you just never know when it could come and bite you in the a**, and I would never post something that I would never say to someone’s face. I must be old …

    • Andrea1 says:

Goodnames I totally agree with you
I bet she didn’t expect this!
Girl thought she was Indispensable ha!

    • Kiki04 says:

Yeah I’m suspicious as to whether she actually quit or was fired…..I’m thinking the latter. She would be pretty stupid to quit her only job.

    • paola says:

Good luck finding another job now.
      >And regarding to what Sharon Osbourne said abot her (that she can’t be bought) girl bye.
Her parents bought her career. She has no talent to speak of. One day she’s a fat kid on a reality show and the next she’s criticizing other people’s fashion.
Maybe she should see what it’s like in the real world with a real job where you can’t just leave because your boss is bad and you have to pay for your bills.

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

I just find her very unnattractive. Not because of her weight or anything, but she just comes off as so nasty and entitled. ALWAYS. And I have a passing knowledge of her….it’s just her face that radiates SMUG SMUG SMUG.

      • paola says:

When I look at her all I see is Ursula the Sea Witch. She is the flesh and bones version of that cartoon character.
Plus that haircut looks just horrible on her.. especially now that she gained all her old weight back. She’s not fat or anything but I agree she is smug. And she shouldn’t. totally overrated.

  12. Nyxen says:

I too stopped watching Fashion Police a long time ago. I couldn’t stomach how mean spirited and bullying those people were. I’m also seriously tired of hearing about and seeing any and all of those Kardashians. People really need to realize there’s more interesting things out there than a family of self-involved Instagramawhores.

  13. Beatrice says:

Glad she’s gone. I never understood why Kelly was on the show anyway–maybe her connections, but certainly not her fashion creds? I’d love seeing NeNe take her place. Whether you love her or hate her, she knows fashion and isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind. Sadly, though, I guess Khloe will get the job.

  14. maeliz says:

Kelly should’ve thought before saying she’d quit. Now what will she do? PMK will get Khloe this job and bitching Sharon Osborne has to find one for Kelly.

  15. Nev says:

Khloe or Nene!!!! Luv them both!!!!

  16. Kaley says:

Unpopular Opinion: I didn’t like this show even when Joan was alive. She was awful and took things way too far. I hope the people whose deaths she mocked got to have a few words with her when she passed over. Terrible.

    • a cut above says:

ITA. Joan Rivers could get super nasty. People seem to forget the really awful things she said.

    • vauvert says:

So with you. Never watched and do not understand why, if they want to talk about fashion, they couldn’t t do a real show – hire someone who has a degree in fashion or fashion history, who could talk intelligently, not meanly about the clothes, the designers, what goes into making an outfit, the accessories.. I could watch that! But the vapid stuff that goes on – fawn over celebrities in their face then turn around being spiteful and mean behind their back? Ugh.

    • funcakes says:

That’s most of the shows on E. Whatever happen to all the documentaries they use to air. Most of them were true crime. How did the kardummyans take over?

      • Petee says:

I do miss the E! True Hollywood Stories and other things they had on before.Somehow people found the Kardashians relatable. When Kim came along people were sick of Paris Hilton and she was this dark, curvy, beauty. The anti Paris. Now she is a complete caricature of her former self and her and her whole family has taken over that channel.I haven’t watched E! in years.

      • Noella says:

Those were the good days. At this point, if I want some decent crime shows, I go to ID (Channel)

  17. danielle says:

I do wonder if part of Kelly’s reason for leaving is kathy griffin. I watched kathys first show and the other “fashinistas” on the show looked horrified by some of her comments about liking outrageous outfits because they are fun. She doesn’t seem like a fashion girl.

  18. Kiddo says:

Those shoes are hideous. They look like braces and padding for a medical condition and the hose/socks look like those circulation enhancers. This is not someone who should be publicly commenting on fashion except as a sales rep in the hospital/nursing home supply industry. WTH?

It doesn’t matter for me since I don’t watch this show anyway. E! should just change its name to K! and be done with it. So should KMZ and Kadar Online.

  19. CK says:

Anyone else remember when Kelly Osbourne rode the tide of nepotism and reality tv stardom to a musical career and put out that horrendous Madonna cover? I really couldn’t see Khloe lasting on the show long, Kim is just going to get destroyed when she hits a red carpet in her latest trashion and I don’t see Khloe keeping cool.

  20. Lbliss says:

Um mean spirited comments? The show is based on humour. I personally loved the show and was devastated when Joan died. But more devastated with some “mean spirited comments” I read about her following her untimely death.

Anyway the world is mean spirited and laughing and poking fun brings a smile to my face and I still love the show. I will miss kelly but I feel after what happened the show could use some diversity. Wendy Williams noted this last week and had some great replacement suggestions 🙂

    • Petee says:

A friend of mine worked on the Fashion Police and said Joan was the sweetest, kindest, generous person you would want to meet. When he heard about her death he wasn’t worried about his job but was devastated about her death.

  21. Neelyo says:

Osbourne’s actions are so in line with entitled reality TV behavior. Throw a self-serving public tantrum and bad mouth your employers because you have your bullying mother’s connections to help you land on your feet. The rest of us wouldn’t be so lucky.

  22. Debbie says:

Since its a show about fashion shouldn’t they go with someone who knows about fashion or at the very minimum has taste?

    • Lady D says:

I think they should use the participants of America’s Next Top Model as guest judges on the show. I should note I’ve never seen ANTM, I’m just assuming they know something about fashion.

    • chaine says:

Because the show isn’t really about fashion. It’s about watching mean-girls do their mean-girl thing.

  23. Ginger says:

It sounds to me like this show is going down. Why don’t they hire Ross Matthews? He does well on the red carpet segments with Kelly and I like him. But he seems like a nice guy. I’m not sure he could do the acid tongue humor…but I could be wrong. He could also be a good counterpoint to someone like Kathy Griffin. Personally, I liked Kelly on the show because she seemed so natural and upbeat and had a lot to say. But I’m afraid she did herself in with those tweets. That really was a grave mistake. There’s a fine line between defending your friend and pissing off your bosses. I hope they don’t replace her with Khloe. She just sits there and says she doesn’t like anything. She was so dreadfully boring.

  24. Bridget says:

Judging from the big new contract and Khloe’s appearance on the E! Oscar show, this has been in the works for a little while. Of course Khloe will be terrible, but does anyone actually watch Fashion Police?

    • Kiddo says:

I stopped watching while Joan was still on board, but I was never a regular anyway.

      • Bridget says:

I couldn’t even watch the awards show coverage where the fashion is lots of fun and interesting, let alone a weekly recap of paparazzi shots and premiere outfits.

  25. Diane says:

As much as I love Kathy Griffith, I would quit watching Fashion Police if ANY Kartrashian co-hosts. Khloe was terrible on the Oscar panel. The Kartrashians have zero fashion sense and have been shoved down my throat too many times. I’m done with FP if this happens.

As far Kelly leaving … good riddens. Never thought she was an asset from Day 1.

  26. minx says:

What talents or skills does Kelly Osbourne have again, exactly?

  27. FingerBinger says:

If it were up to me I’ d choose Nene. Khloe co-hosted X factor usa and she was really bad at it. Khloe also did E’s oscar red carpet and she was bad there too. Kris had her own talk show and it failed miserably. The Kardashians are not good when they have to be interesting. They should stick to that dopey reality show.

    • minx says:

Kendall also did some introduction at an music awards show and embarrassed herself. That’s when she said she couldn’t read well.
      Pathetic, all of them.

    • word says:

This family is only good at one thing, and that’s fake reality tv drama. They are good at putting out gossip about themselves and then denying it. They are good at calling the paps. They aren’t good at anything else.

  28. India says:

Glad Kelly is gone. Hell To The No on Khloe and Her Monumental Fake Ass coming on the show. I love FP. Kimora Lee would be a great replacement.

  29. paola says:

I think it’s time to wrap up the show.
Their comments are so cringe worthy now that Joan is not there to back them up.
    Embarassing.

  30. Thaisajs says:

I used to love Fashion Police when Joan was at the helm, but I think that it’s probably time to end the whole thing. I like Kelly but she was a bit annoying on the show since she was always sticking up for her “friends” and their fugly fashion choices. I think it was a mistake for her to leave because let’s face it, what else is she going to do? Host a reality TV show on Animal Planet?

  31. The Original G says:

I think that Kelly is about get a wake-up call on the demand for her services in the post Joan world.

Joan was a comedian people. She also had a great understanding of fashion.

Am I wrong for hoping that Khloe can break away from her family and carve out a niche of her own? I hope she’s getting coaching as we speak.

  32. serena says:

I’m not saying Fashion Police’s ladies are fashionistas, but Khloe Kardashian? Really?? They want the butt of doom to represent a show (other than her family’s)? That calls troubles, since most of the times she dresses like crap.

  33. word says:

Khloe better NOT replace Kelly. Khloe knows nothing about fashion and is horrible during those Red Carpet E Specials. All she does is pose for the camera and it’s annoying.

  34. Cricket says:

I wish they would bring George back! I liked him and I like Brad, they actually contribute fashion related info. I’d clean house and get rid of G and Kathy too and replace them with Naomi Campbell and maybe Heidi Klum. That could be constructive but fun and not just mean girls which I think G’s role is now.

    • suziekew says:

Exactly! G has turned into a mean girl now. I don’t like her anymore – she is a fake.
Kelly called her out on the show for criticizing and mean girling Amal Clooney’s gloves when in fact, G told Amal on the red carpet how much she loved the gloves. I decided then that I am done with the show and GR.

    • Miss M says:

I thought I was the only one who missed George! I will watch again if he goes back. I like Kimora too. She was great as a guest host.

  35. word says:

They rehearse the show before taping it so wasn’t that Zendaya joke a part of the rehearsal? Why didn’t Kelly say something then? Also, it’s been reported that Kelly has had issues with the show since Joan died and this was just the last straw for her. I don’t think she has to worry about money and I’m sure she’ll find something else. She can always go back to reality tv. I actually think Kelly knew a lot about fashion and she gave good critiques. Kathy doesn’t know anything about fashion. I’m still wondering why George didn’t return to the show and was replaced? I think Guilianna is near the end of her contract with E anyways. Wasn’t she supposed to leave E and move to Chicago permanently? I don’t think she will give up “Hollywood” so easily.

Also, that show needs some diversity. Khloe is a horrible choice as she knows nothing about fashion. I’d rather see Kanye get the job lol. You’d think the Kardashians wouldn’t want anything to do with that show because of that joke Joan made about North’s eyebrows needing a wax. Remember when Joan died the whole family tweeted their sympathies EXCEPT Kim. Kim said NOTHING.

  36. JenniferJustice says:

I didn’t realize they made foot casts in black leather.

  37. GoOnGirl says:

I think the show should be cancelled, as it serves no purpose but to bash people, their clothing, etc. Most of the reviews of people and their clothes are very negative. The panel (I use that term loosely) tries to make it funny, but their humor seems to elude me. I’m wondering who gave them permission to call themselves a fashion expert? And G needs to eat a couple of sandwiches.

  38. wendy says:

I enjoy the Fashion Police. It is too bad that Joan is gone. Not sure I love Kathy since I don’t think she has fashion experience but sometimes she says funny stuff.
I actually like Kelly’s input. She does know her designers and she has gone to a million shows because she is rock royalty. Replacing her with a Kardashian or Nene (god no) would be awful cause neither have fashion chops.
I was thinking it would be amazing if they were able to get Sandra Bernhard. Cause she is funny as hell and very stylish. She knows her shit.

  39. 9 says:

I don’t see the mocked becoming the mocker. No one is more mocked than Khloe about how she looks and her fashion choices other than her sister…P.S. why is she hiding her tiny baby tummy in all of her pictures…*snicker

  40. 9 says:

I don’t think tacky ol’ E! has the budget, but Michael Kors is so funny critiqueing fashion…I vote Kors

  41. CH2 says:

Why are we piling on Kelly when she did the right thing by calling these racists out?

  42. funcakes says:

Great! Now where are we going to find another over entitled trust fund baby to contribute absolutely nothing to society.

  43. funcakes says:

I vote Kathy Griffin, Isaac mizrahi, Anderson Cooper, Phoebe Price and Tim gunn. Your welcome E.

  44. M.J. says:

I think Kelly was fired for the epic tantrum she threw on Twitter. Employers don’t like to be called out like that (regardless of whether or not what she said was even true).

I hope they don’t bring Khloe in. She is a terrible host on everything she does. Absolutely zero personality, she always seems very uncomfortable.

    • H Dogg says:

Can I be skeptical and think E is using this for publicity for the show?
I live in NZ and have heard nothing of this show till now (although It is on here). Now this is all over the internet and even on her national breakfast show (apparently it has/had a huge international audience).

  45. Ice Queen says:

Kelly wanted to be the star of the show??? LOL. She got that job because of nepotism. She’s got nothing to offer.

  46. Joh says:

    How does Kloe sit?
I mean really, how does she sit?

  47. roxy750 says:

OMG like who watches this? Seriously people. Fashion Police???

  48. Michelle says:

That’s the best they can find to replace Kelly?

    • Pumpkin Pie says:

What if E did this on purpose and set Kelly up? E is kind of owned by the Kardashian, they say. Tbh I wouldn’t be surprised.

  49. Pumpkin Pie says:

Khloe Kardashian already has a potty mouth -IMO, I just can’t with her. I don’t like the rest of them either and I don’t care if it’s scripted or not. I tried to watch the show but no thanks.

  50. Penelope says:

All they’re doing is replacing one obnoxious, talentless, style-challenged loudmouth with another. Kelly Osborne is the more obnoxious of the two imo, though. I certainly won’t miss her hideous outfits, silly hair, useless comments and pathetic name-dropping.

  51. Flower says:

Back to her alleged drug dealing to make a buck then?

  52. Jayna says:

Kimora Lee Simmons is a great idea, whoever said it earlier.

  53. Susan says:

Cindy Adams posted a biting comment on cast politics that evolved beginning the day of Joan’s injury. And that FP is property of E and any cast members or Mellissa are disposable to keep the production alive. But the concept is no longer unique with every network hosting Red Carpet. I’ll watch the network that offers a style editor or uber stlyist along with relevant and interesting hollywood or fashionista’s. I want to have fun on awards night and enjoy the entire experience.

  54. India says:

On the red carpet, Khloe did nothing but giggle and play with her sausage curl extensions. Please do not put her or any of her lot on anything. So over these people and all of their fakeness and slut behavior.

  55. Jeanette says:

G is just stabby because she needs a hamburger STAT!!!!

  56. Toni says:
