The enemy of my enemy is my friend, no? Ha. Hollywood is one big High School!

    • Tifygodess24 says:

Right? The first thing I thought when I read that headline was “are we back in high school? -Did I miss something?” Haha

      • Tiffany :) says:

To be fair…the headline (and Lainey) took harmless tweets and exaggerated it into a story. All that happened was TS said nice things about Gaga and Gaga said thanks. There doesn’t really appear to be “an alliance” thing happening, except in the world of gossip fun.

      • Otaku fairy says:

It didn’t really seem like a jab at Katy Perry to me, but it wouldn’t surprise me too much if Lady Gaga did take sides, since her and Katy Perry have had issues in the past. I’m pretty sure it started with Katy Perry making some comment in 2010 implying that she was superior to or a better artist than Lady Gaga because she doesn’t mix sexuality and religion in her work.

      • FLORC says:

That’s what Lainey does. Take a little bit of truth from here and there. Mix it together with a dash of plausability. Mix it all together with some obscurity so no one can really fact check and deny or confirm and you get gossip fit for BI’s or that site!

Just more behavior to support that Channing Tatum said about being famous. The age you become famous is the age you stop maturing. High school girls 4life!

    • InvaderTak says:

Uhg. Seriously. Get over it. So petty. the second hand embarrassment is overwhelming.

      • homegrrrlll says:

“second hand embarrassment”, that’s funny, I’m cringing from the lamolecules oozing over the internet!

    • AntiSocialButterfly says:

Oh, Sun Tsu is soooo beyond hs.

      • FLORC says:

I can’t find that quote in my copy of The Art Of War. And as far as I can find that quote is not attributed to Sun Tzu at all.

There are many version of this saying dating very long ago. Even Winston Churchill said it as well as a version in the bible. It’s a very common proverb though from many different regions.
None I can find to Sun Tzu or any version from those who translated or interpreted his writings/philosophy.

And it makes sense. His whole method was to avoid confrontation. War and battles were the absolute last resort. That’s kind of funny since The Art Of War and the interpretaions of his many works were actually ways to not make enemies and resolve.

    • TotallyBiased says:

Actually, ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’ is an Arabic proverb. Y’all would be stunned at how many ‘quotes’ misattributed to some ‘great thinker’ are actually unattributed (anon) Arabic sayings.

Lyme disease is horrible, and in my experience, most doctors in the U.S. don’t know how to properly treat it. What’s worse is that many of the ones who do are sanctioned and threatened that they will lose their medical license for doing things such as extended antibiotic treatment which can cure people. (A wonderful doctor in North Carolina who was curing patients had that happen to him.)

I had Lyme disease back in 2002, and it was awful. It took 6 weeks of Cipro for me to feel even human again and to not be in so much pain. Untreated or under-treated Lyme can cause symptoms similar to ALS, and many people end up in wheelchairs, if not die from it. (My boyfriend has an uncle who is wheelchair-bound due to Lyme.)

I’ll leave with this:” Officials from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Monday that about 300,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with Lyme disease each year — about 10 times as many as are officially reported. Aug 20, 2013″

    • Hudson Girl says:

My cousin’s wife had it, but, it was caught in time for the (6 weeks plus) treatment to be effective.

If it goes too long undiagnosed- like Yolanda’s- it’s a whole different ball game. There’s not much they can do.
I had a professor that also had that problem and he had permanent, and irreparable nerve damage, major side effects, etc.
Sad because he was only in his 30’s. My heart goes out to her, the stage she has is very serious.

    • lucy2 says:

I know several people who had it pretty bad too. I don’t know who that person is, but I don’t doubt it can affect their ability to work.

    • FLORC says:

My husband has lyme disease. Not Fun! He had it caught early, but the 2nd and 3rd time was unable to receive treatment quickly.
It can really run you down and in some cases become a disability that intrudes on your lifes routines.

  3. Allie says:

Oh good grief. Is there anyone Taylor won’t suck up to? (Besides Katy Perry of course)

  4. Amy says:

Taylor complimented another artist, and yet here everyone is trying to warp her words into something it wasn’t.

I’m not a fan of her music, by any means, but why the constant need to bring her down?

    • Catk says:

Agreed. So she went through a boy-crazy phase, like most girls did at that age, and now she’s focusing on friendships, like many women in their 20s. People just love to hate this girl.

  5. Vampi says:

Our dog had Lyme disease. One day she just couldn’t walk. At all. It took 3 vets and money we really didn’t have until she was finally diganosed and treated. Now she’s fine.
I fear so many people may have this and docs just aren’t catching it.

    • FLORC says:

      Vampi
I live in an area where lyme disease is at a high rate. fairly close to old lyme actually.
Many times people go to the primary care physician and claim a tick bite. The thing believed to be a tick might be gone or it was lint or a marker ink stain. Or even a horsefly bite. You should always go in though if you get the bulls eye mark. Or the head or head and body are still attached.

With dogs you have to be aware. Brush them, rub their bellies. Check in the hot locations on their bodies. Fatigue and sore joints are giveaways for animals and humans.

  6. Loulou says:

Doesn’t really seem like an alliance, much less a KP attack. Just looks like Swifty paying a compliment.

  7. NorthernGirl_20 says:

I don’t understand, how is it an attack on KP? Please explain?

    • Kiddo says:

No one said anything nice about left shark.

    • Rhiley says:

Yeah, I think it is a total stretch to say that she is attacking Katy Perry. An attack on Katy Perry may have been if Taylor tweeted something like, “@LadyGaga, the original CALIFORNIA GIRL, living life to the fullest, we hear your ROAR wise woman, and your spirit is as bright as the brightest FIREWORK . You are not a TEENAGE DREAM, or a knight on a BLACK HORSE. You are the realest truth, HOT N COLD, but always WIDE AWAKE. If I could give you a KISS right now, GIRL, I would, but til then, hugs it will be, cause you know, THIS IS HOW WE DO.

  8. Missy says:

I think it’s sad that so many people defend Taylor simply because she doesn’t strip on stage…..she’s engaged in so much awful behavior but gets a pass on it because as Katy Perry said correctly, the media portrays her as a sweetheart.

Remember her whole “Feminism is not attacking other women, even if they have done horrible things. Tina Fey is going to hell because she’s not supporting other women.”

This from the girl who constantly attacks other girls in passive aggressive shades….her song better than revenge attacking Camilla Belle “She’s known for the things she does on the mattress” or attacking countless ex-boyfriends presenting a one sided account of the event that makes her look like a perfect victim.

And what about that gross dating a 17 year old boy whose mom committed suicide only a few weeks before they started dating? A 23 year old woman dating an emotionally unstable underage teenager is really creepy.

    • Tiffany :) says:

Can you explain to me how this is awful behavior? All she did was tweet something nice. There is nothing to defend and nothing worth attacking.

      • Allie says:

I don’t think she meant the tweet was awful behavior. But Taylor does get a pass on a lot of things because she’s meant to be Americas Sweetheart and she has a lot of fans.

      • Kitten says:

Katy Perry’s fan base scares me.

      • Tiffany :) says:

She gets passes from some people, but then she also gets blasted when she isn’t doing anything wrong (see above post). I think it would be more convincing if she had something actually horrific (like Chris Brown) and was still having excuses made for her. At most, Taylor is immature and irritating. Not that big of a deal in the big picture.

      • Kiddo says:

        Kitten, any fanaticism scares me.

    • Otaku fairy says:

I don’t think this series of tweets is an example of that, but I kind of have a mixed opinion about Taylor Swift. I no longer dislike her, I like some of her songs, she doesn’t seem overly perfect, I think she has some staying power, and I admire how in control she seems of her image. But she does seem a little overly sensitive toward criticism (like a lot of famous people) and while I don’t really think she’s the complete mean girl others may think she is, it seems she probably does have her moments when she’s overly judgy, snobby, or pissy towards some of her peers, as we’ve seen. Does she get a lot of praise or too much of a pass for stuff because of a wholesome image? it’s possible. She gets a lot of criticism, but has a lot of defenders too. Like Beyonce (although the criticism I see her get has been harsher than criticism I’ve seen Taylor get), she seems to have both a lot of admirers/defenders and a lot of dislikers/anti-fans. A lot of celebrities tend to have a lot more of one than the other.

For a while really disliked her for what she said about Camilla Bell (and that other little virgin-whore song), but after a while I decided to give her a pass because she was like 18 when she did that song and showed no interest or awareness of feminism at the time. It seems like lots of teens just spew whatever hateful intolerant sexist prudey crap they’ve been taught by adults while growing up, until they learn to think for themselves and are exposed to a better worldview.

My opinion of Katy isn’t any better though, and I think she’s just as capable of immature snobby behavior herself.

    • FLORC says:

Well, Swifty is free of blame here. She has shown a history of being a B—- though with random acts of kindness that never fails to get coverage.
She’s great with her pr. I’ll give her that.

  9. Div says:

I don’t think that post about Taylor was supposed to be serious

  10. original kay says:

I thought the “prince charming” part was shade on Gaga’s part. I can’t understand why she included that?

    • Tiffany :) says:

I don’t think that line was the best move. The feminist in me bristled at that! I think Gaga was trying to be cute, but it was awkward.

      • lucy2 says:

Me too – that struck me as “don’t worry, you’ll live fully too as soon as you find a boyfriend” which is some serious BS.

      • Kitten says:

        Agree with you all.

      • Jayna says:

I agree. And I’m sure it kind of rubbed Taylor the wrong way since she bristled at that interviewer who said at the Grammys that she would be walking away with a lot of men also, and she said she was on her own and liked it that way. Taylor has been on the mantra being alone and hanging with girlfriends is her thing, so waiting for a Prince Charming, even though Gaga meant it as a compliment, came across like poor Taylor, waiting for a man to make all her dreams come true.

Taylor wasn’t even referring to Gaga and a man. Gaga is in a TV show, performed at the Oscars, did the cold water thing, got engaged, performed at the Grammys. I think she was just saying Gaga is out there trying it all and having fun – living life. Gaga took her tweet as all about a man, which it wasn’t even referring to.

    • ela says:

Gaga is being every newly engaged person who wants everyone to be as in love as they are.

      • Kitten says:

It was weird that Gaga would immediately go there. When I read Swift’s tweet I actually thought she was referring to LG’s critically acclaimed Oscar performance, not her engagement.

      • Kiddo says:

Meh, people are in different frames of mind at any given moment; they are in their own moment. People often have two different conversations going on, when it comes to the written word online, and tone can often be misconstrued. Gaga just got engaged and was doing a lot of coupl-ish things. That’s where her head was at, I guess.

  11. Christin says:

This is a bit OT, but I am hoping that Dean Sheremet’s new interview will be covered on this site. He gave a very lengthy, insightful interview with someone named Nat. I believe he retweeted a link.

The guy is great at classy sounding shade.

    • Jayna says:

Thanks. This is the first time he gave a blow-by-blow of the affair and the devastating effects to their marriage and ending and how he was feeling as it was all going down, which was sad reading. And he was blunt about LeAnne but equally blunt about himself and his issues and faults. When he said he didn’t know if he was still trying to hang on at the end, when she clearly wanted out, because he loved her or because of the lifestyle, that was so honest.

It’s clear from the interview LeAnn spends like water, even back when they had the money, and thrives on attention.

I only wished the interviewer had touched more on meeting his new wife and their marriage. It was very short about that at the end and didn’t give enough balance in the interview regarding really finding love again and I guess, in my mind, pay that respect to his wife.

I am surprised he gave this kind of interview to a friend on some site I’ve never heard of. He could have made money off of this interview to People Magazine, etc, and chose not to. It still says a lot about his character.

It is a must read for anyone who ever followed this saga, though. It is amazing to read his how he felt during his marriage as far as being a team but losing himself in her career and life and his mindset throughout the nightmare of realizing your wife is in an affair and won’t give it up, and ultimately how he found himself in the process and created his own career and destiny. I will buy his cookbook to support him in that effort.

His description of Eddie upon first meeting him is brilliant. LOL

      • Christin says:

It is interesting that he spilled his story to a friend with what appears to be an unknown blog. His wife must be a very secure person. He sounds like a grounded, self-aware person, too.

He certainly backs up the free spending accusations her father tossed out years ago. The part that amazed me is that she didn’t have the phone glued to her hand, like now.

      • Jayna says:

@Christin, I forgot that part about the phone. LOL

I do wish they had talked more about his present personal life. They delved a lot into professionally. But so focused on LeAnn and that part for the majority makes it looks like he hasn’t gotten over it. I don’t know. They barely touched on his wife. I think it would have been more of a complete story to talk about first meeting his wife and falling in love, and wanting to marry again, etc,

His wife is several years older than him. I wonder if they are going to have children. She’s a career woman. He seemed to really want kids in his marriage to LeAnn.

I loved this in the interview when he said she wanted to be back in LA when they were finishing their Tennessee home, and his thoughts on why she wanted to be back in LA. This was even before Eddie.

” In LA, there’s the paparazzi and that false sense of success, false security that you’re still relevant. If you’re in the magazines, then you matter. And that carried over to the divorce. She became even more “famous.”

  12. CatFoodJunkie says:

Have they ever even met ? I mean, socially? To say someone is a sweetie based on a simple tweet ?

  13. Amy says:

Instead of going with the fabricated unified front against Katy Perry you should have gone for the more insightful question.

What’s up with the Prince Charming bit?

I know it’s a harmless tweet and it mostly reads like two people who don’t know each other very well trying to appear friendly, but I’d have my best arched eyebrow on for someone who told me one day I’d find Prince Charming. Like someone else said Gaga is really pushing the, “I found an amazing man and someday you will too!” angle.

Maybe it’s all super subtle masterful shade?

  14. lile says:

I would love to see them do a song together – TS and Gaga, that is. Not a fan of KP myself.

  15. KellyBee says:

I find it funny how people are complaining that others are trying to make something out of Taylor “harmless” tweet are the same ones trying to make something out of Gaga “harmless” tweet.

    Hypothetical?

  16. Reece says:

I read that and had the song “Someday My Prince Will Come” start playing in my head in Lana Del Rey’s (a la Malficient) voice.

  17. LAK says:

    I guess they are 12.

  18. kri says:

Please tell me that Kanye, Taylor and gaga aren’t going to be next year’s Superbowl act? I’m calling it right now.
