    I love Jewel, she’s so cute 😀

  2. RAN says:

Shouldn’t “Ewel in the header say Jewel? Or was that intentional?

In any event, after watching that video, she seems absolutely adorable! Who knew? She gained a fan today.

I had terrible- TERRIBLE- teeth, and one of my front teeth was BLUE.
I refused to have them fixed for years– it was a part of who i was, my identity, I was use to it and that as part of my self-concept.
My mom, thogh, and evryone else who saw me constantly pushed to have it fixed, saying I was so beautiful EXCEPT for my teeth.
Well, I got a bridge and now have perfect teeth (my mom got them for me, really)
I dont care if I had these perfect teeth or the ones before… my self-concept is still in my head, not in my mouth LOL
I actually dont notice much difference in how people view me, because I smile just as much as before…

I actually don’t like it when people have perfect, perfectly white, perfectly straight teeth. It’s a bit odd, unnerving. Teeth aren’t perfect. They aren’t perfectly shaped or perfectly straight. As long as they aren’t hideous enough to actually cause people to gasp loudly when you speak or smile, who cares? I think they give a face character and personality. I love it when celebs refuse to get those perfect Chiclet looking horse teeth that are so white they blind you. They LOOK fake. That’s just as distracting as really bad teeth!!!

  5. anastasiabeaverhausen says:

And after watching that video, I like it even MORE when people can laugh at their own imperfections! I do it and it’s very liberating.

  6. pixiegirl says:

I actually have teeth kinda similar to hers and I’m always trying to figure out if I should change them or if they make me a bit special. It’s a true love/hate relationship. I guess I should see if I can open beer bottles with them before I reach for the invisilign any time soon.

“I guess I should see if I can open beer bottles with them before I reach for the invisilign any time soon.”

LMAO. I don’t know if you wanted that to be funny but I giggled.

I say anything that makes some defined or unique should keep what they have. I remember watching something on television about people who went and had plastic surgery and after that their career was over in ways. I remember people were talking about Jennifer Grey’s nose job and the less than positive remarks on it.

  8. Leandra says:

That little imperfection of Jewel’s teeth give her character. Just like Steve Buscemi (Fargo)….he would be nothing without those teeth of his.

  9. michellle says:

    How refreshing! funny too.

Mine are nice except for a central top gap which I’ve grown to like. Yet I did consider veneers, then I realized how fake they look.

  10. Baho says:

Teeth aren’t supposed to be whiter than the whites of the eyes but that’s exactly why everybody in Hollywood looks like they’re wearing dentures.

  11. Codzilla says:

Veneers are creepy. Although, it always makes me chuckle when I’m watching a movie about a character who’s supposedly down and out, and he/she is sporting a gleaming mouthful of perfect teeth.

  12. whatevs says:

While I agree that people should be proud of who they are and not focus so much on looking perfect, fixing something they’ve always hated can give them some much needed confidence. My teeth are crowded, kinda similar to hers, and I’d get them fixed in a heartbeat. I have MAJOR issues with my parents as to why I never got braces as a child, and as soon as I can afford it, I’ll be a 27 year year old brace face. The only thing I’m worried about is ending up with horse mouth, a la Jessica Biel. Her teeth are straight and all but geez, there’s just so…much…teeth.

  13. Blah blah blah says:

    Whatevs! That’s me, too!

I really want to get braces as soon as I can afford them. I’m annoyed that my parents never got my braces, even though my orthondist said I NEEDED them. Then, years later my eight-year-younger sister gets them. I’ll probably be some metal-mouthed thirty-year-old.

  14. Blah blah blah says:

Wow, what’s up with my typos? Was I in that much of a hurry?

    “me” and “orthodontist”

  15. anastasiabeaverhausen says:

Oh I agree, if it’s something that has really got the person down, and they can do it, then by all means fix it. I used to know a woman who would never smile without throwing her hand up in front of her mouth and it made me so sad for her. I didn’t think her teeth were bad at all, most people didn’t, but she was raised with taunts and stuff, so she thought they were. If getting them fixed meant she had more confidence, they I say yay!

But what creeps me out are the blindingly white perfectly straight perfectly rectangular teeth. Teeth like that don’t exist naturally for ANYone. They’re a bit creepy. It’s like over the top improvement–taken too far.

  16. crab says:

I don’t know if you guys see the ad “How I cured my yellow teeth” at the top of this page!! Those teeth are horrible!! They are sooo long!! They scare me!!

  17. Amy says:

I’m 29 with braces. Crowded / crooked teeth can cause some major problems down the line. I started having issues with my gums after I had kids, even though I’m an obsessive brusher and flosser.

So, it isn’t always vanity that makes us fix our teeth.

  18. geselda says:

there are “charming” crooked teeth and then then there are jewel’s. she should get them fixed.

  19. Wanda Hill says:

Jewel has a big following of fans. Her teeth actually looks like it is out of alignment. Removing a tooth near the back would allow it to go into place. I was shocked when my child’s orthodonist
wanted to remove 2 teeth and possibly 4.
I agreed to no more than 2. Her teeth were about like Jewels. I mean literally overnight her tooth moved right into place. Everbody tells her she has the most beautiful teeth. If Jewel & Ty are happy, I’m happy for them. On DWTS tonight she looked as if her tooth had been fixed. She is beautiful either way. Ty is a hoot and I can understand their attraction for each other.
