In a poll done by cinema advertising giants Pearl and Dean, viewers voted for the sexiest male and female superheroes. The sexiest male superhero award went to Hugh Jackman for his role as Wolverine in X-Men (getting 24% of the votes) and the sexiest female superhero went to Jessica Alba for her role as Sue Storm in the Fantastic Four (getting 25% of the votes).

The rest of the female list consists of Jennifer Garner as Electra, Halle Berry as Storm, Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl and Helen Slater as Supergirl. The male list rounds out with Christian Bale as Batman, Tobey Maguire as Spiderman, Nicholas Cage as Ghost Rider and Brandon Routh as Superman.

A spokeswoman for Pearl and Dean, the cinema advertisers who conducted the poll, said: “It’s no surprise that so many people find superheroes sexy in the movies. The combination of toned bodies, incredible powers and the all-important tight-fitting costume on the big screen is too appealing to resist. Although it looks like underpants-over-the-trousers look hasn’t worked so well for Superman.”
