These are photos of Kylie Jenner celebrating the opening of a new Sugar Factory in Santa Barbara. She’s holding up Version 2.0 of the “Kylie” lollipop, but no one is thinking about the candy. Instead, people are wondering why a 17-year-old girl is wearing a sheer dress that shows off her girls. The answer to that question is complicated. Kylie’s been encouraged from a young age to capitalize on her looks. She’s been taught that aging into one’s early 20s is “scary,” and she’s been taught that cosmetic enhancement builds confidence. Besides money, self-esteem is the ultimate goal for the Kardashians.
This outfit is pretty outlandish for a teenager to wear. The plunging neckline caused people to wonder if Kylie had a boob job. In a now-deleted caption, Kylie wrote on Instagram, “There’s a lot of duct tape under this dress holding these suckers up.” She also deleted the photo of tape on her chest. At the Sugar Factory, Kylie spoke with Us Weekly:
Kylie’s impact on young people: “It’s been years, but I still feel like I’m just someone normal. It’s crazy. I don’t realize it until I dye my hair blue and go to a meet and greet the next week and half the girls have blue hair. I don’t realize the big impact I have, so it’s just crazy.”

Kylie knows that she influences other young girls. The Kylie Jenner lip challenge wasn’t too long ago. I don’t know if she’s playing dumb with journos, or if she’s outright lying. Earlier this year, Kylie claimed to never work out because her “Jenner genes” kept her in good shape. I won’t jump on Kylie for fibbing because she comes from a family of liars. It’s all she knows.

She is 17. 17. She should be in her junior year of high school and going to prom. She should not have bolt ons, be “smashed”, inject stuff into her lips and walk around showing off her wares and influencing other teens that this is ok. If it was anyone else I would ask where in the world her mother and father are, but we already know the answer. One is counting money and the other is in her “glam” room. Tragedy. Travesty. Abuse.

It’s not just teenagers, loud.noises… As a teacher in a primary (elementary) school, I have the same conversation each December, as Year 6 is preparing to leave and move on to high school.
Once upon a time, the girls and boys would go home after school, presumably shower and dress nicely and arrive at the set venue for the Year 6 Farewell. No more. Now, at my school at least, 50% of the girls do not even come to school on the day. Of the ones who do, half will go home early. The girls are 11 – 12 years old. They cannot be at school as they have appointments booked: Fake tanning session, waxing of legs, eyebrows, upper lip etc., manicure – with or without fake nails, pedicure, hair and make up – with or without fake eyelashes. They need to do these early, as the photographer/s and limousine/Hummer/vintage Rolls will arrive at 3:30pm. They have home photos done (in addition to the selfies and photos taken by mum and Aunty during the preparation). The dress, a designer copy made by a recommended dressmaker is put on, along with heels and jewellery to match. Mum breaks out her Chanel No 5 and spritzes her baby girl…
The professional photos are glamour shots in lovely locations – the lake and bridge near their home, grandma’s award-winning garden, one of the many local historic buildings or the beautiful historic park nearby… At the appointed time, their vehicle of choice will slowly arrive at the venue, where friends and family can photograph or video the arrival. When the car stops at the entrance, the lucky girl will exit the vehicle and be met with a barrage of flashes from her friends (who arrived minutes before with similar fanfare) taking photos and oohing and aahing at how stunning and awesome Shanniyah is…
All this has not taken place in the Lower North Shore, Eastern Suburbs or The Shire – posh areas – but an ordinary outer Sydney suburb.

I know that Dylan Candy shop in NYC uses celebrities all the time but that is usually to promote the store not a lollipop.
Based on the 2013 article I found, it really is candy at the top. There is some type of plastic cover that can be used so it can be placed in a purse.

She tries to look like Kim and she succeeds – they look about the same age and I actually assumed she must have some Armenian ancestry as well, because she (now) has similar coloring as her older sisters. I didn’t really know much about this family so I was surprised to read that 1) only R. Kardashian was Armenian, 2) PMK’s maiden name is Houghton and she is of mostly English descent, so is Caitlyn 3) Kylie used to be rather pale, brown-haired child. I hope she uses spray tan not the lamps – so much tanning from such a young age can’t be good for the skin. But all the plastic surgeries and fillers can’t be either.
I don’t think this family knows the concept of “less is more”. She’s a pretty girl but yeah, with all that sh*t caked on her face, the fake nail, the outfit … the girl looks at least 10 years older. For someone who’s so afraid to enter her 20s, she sure skipped them looks-wise.

Normally I’d not rush to condemn because teens, me included, have acted older, dressed older and or inappropriately, dated older guys yadayadayada it’s a cliché, BUT in her case, she has no other options. She thinks this is normal and the solution to any problems she might have is to mutilate her body. She lies because that’s the values of her family.

And she has awful role models in Kim and Khloe. Especially Khloe who has documented all the bad things that caused her mental anguish as a teen, but who isn’t looking out for a sister she’s mothering so that she doesn’t make those same mistakes.
Co-sign. I can feel nothing but a horrified sense of sadness when I look at her now. When I saw these photos, all I could think of was the word “temporary.” Everything about her is plastic– she is just a beautiful, plastic puppet. She’s a dummy. And in 20 years, when the world has found a new spectacle to gawk at, she will have absolutely nothing. No beauty– the plastic won’t age well from puberty to adulthood. No body– the fat injections will shift. No brains– flowers don’t grow when they’ve never been watered. It’s so damn sad.
Her mother raised her as a product, and her father did nothing to stop it. Both of the parents in her life have absolutely failed her. I hope someday she has a moment of lucidity and seeks help.
Just practically speaking, whenever I look at Kim I think, “What are you going to look like at 40” or “by the age of 40”, which are two separate things. “At 40” is more about how the plastic surgery will age, which we really don’t know. “By 40” is wondering what more may she do to herself by then. So it’s that and double for Kylie, who started barely out of puberty. And all of this low self-worth creating, vile, vain, shallow, materialistic, greedy garbage has been beaten into Kylie and took hold by the time she was in elementary school. Meanwhile, Kim’s (lumpy, saggy, constantly requiring maintenance) butt injections alone show the lack of forethought and self-awareness that we’ve observed with this family. I imagine the surgery, the hustling and/or the very public relationship with the criminal, if only exceedingly inappropriate, boyfriend are only the beginning with Kylie. They let her date a grown man, they let her get ass injections, breast implants, and blow her lips up to the point it looks like they’re about to turn inside out. I agree that the plastic surgery is concerning. What is most concerning to me is how much she has actually had done! She has butt injections and her butt is literally bigger with every public appearance she makes. Her breasts have doubled in size. She owned up to the lips, but her new body is supposed to be the result of “weight gain” because she thinks the whole world is stupid. No one goes through puberty at 17 overnight, nor do they only gain weight in their breasts and ass. A few months ago this girl’s butt was flat as a board and a quick Google search proves that.
I watch the show and I saw on a recent episode Kim, Khloe, and Kendall gathered at a doctor’s office and Khloe was getting some laser treatment on her butt to remove stretch marks and cellulite. Khloe said to Kendall, “Are you getting anything done?” and Kendall said no. Then Kim showed up and it became the two of them asking each other, “What are you gonna get done?!” As if they were two people discussing what flavor ice cream they would be getting at an ice cream parlor. They spend their time in doctor’s offices getting all kinds of procedures in an attempt to be perfect and they want everyone to believe they’re all 100% natural and untampered with. When they walked in the door they were on a first name basis with the doctor and greeted him with a kiss on the cheek. It’s pretty pitiful that they can’t admit that they’re all fake. Another poster up above said they’re all going to the Baby Jane’s in the future, and it was such a spot on comment!

I don’t think she is working out. Her legs don’t look trained at all. And besides that, when would she fit working out into her busy schedule off showering for hours and putting on make up for hours. She would have to start all over again IF she would be working out.

Caitlyn Jenner may (hopefully) be a better parent going forward, because, you’re right, Bruce was a terrible one. I’m just finished the Vanity Fair article and was shocked at what a neglectful dad he was. His four older ones were fortunate to have good mothers, so they (mostly) turned out okay and are surprisingly forgiving of Bruce. But with Bruce and PMK as your parents, yikes….

Yes I remember Brody talking about his relationship with Bruce and it was never positive. I remember in one (of the few) Kardashian episodes I watched years ago, Bruce was trying to put his foot down in regards to Kylie or Kendall wearing makeup so young. Of course Kris and their shitty sisters rallied and the younger girls got their way. I imagine that was the beginning of the end for Bruce trying to protect those two from a life of pure vanity and narcissism.
I understand that Bruce was consumed with his gender issues; he probably could think of little else. But I don’t get why that made him such a bad parent, and then why he kept fathering children. Yes, he had split from his first wife, but he wasn’t present at Cassandra’a birth, and she was only his second child! We see the fruits of his self-absorption with Kylie.
It’s great that people support Caitlyn, but she has always been a terrible parent, and so is Kris. This 17 year old has had multiple plastic surgeries, has no education, and is living the life of a 25 year old. Which isn’t surprising since the boyfriend who groomed her is 25 and has a kid. Bruce neglected his older kids, abandoned the younger ones out of deference to Kris, lack of caring, or both, and is now being applauded for her focus on herself. It’s not right. She chose to bring six kids into this world, and she needs to be a responsible parent.
She always reminds me of the Brooke Shield character in Pretty Baby whose virginity is sold to the highest bidder. I can’t shake that image.
I’m in my 30s and she looks older than I. Kylie is scared of getting older but does not realize that she is in fact speeding up the ageing process by wearing many layers of makeup and going for injections and plastic surgery among whatever else she has been doing to her face and body. She just looks like a wannabe Kim rather than trying to find her own look and style. It would not surprise me at all if Kylie tries to follow in Kim’s footsteps by making a sex tape or posing nude in a few years.
She is too young now, but I see a future for her that includes appearing at Vegas hotel lounges for money or Vegas swimming pools for money, or the grand opening of a local car wash. That first pic I honestly thought it was a wax mannequin of Kylie Jenner at Madame Tussaud’ s Wax Museum. She has a dead look in her eyes that is horrifying,almost as if her soul has died.

I always find it strange to look at Kim and Kylie, they look like plastic dolls, everything is flawless and in place, you can’t even see the skin of their faces, just the layers and layers of foundation, and the barbie doll lips, and the freakishly long fake lashes. Plus they always pose like statues and that duck face… I mean, yes, they are beautiful, and I understand that they need and want to look good, especially when there’s always someone taking their picture, selling their image and whatnot, but in my opinion it’s too much. Nothing about them looks natural. It’s disturbing to think this girl is only 17 and looks like this.

My daughter just turned 16. She and her friends laugh at Kylie; they think she’s a joke. I’ve seen lots of pictures my daughter has taken of her friends where they are posing and doing an exaggerated Kylie trout pout.

The only thing I knew about this family was Kris’s “star turn”at the trial for the murder of her “good friend” Nicole Simpson. It was a little confusing at the time beause PMK was playing musical husbands between Robert K and Bruce.When the K’s started suffocating the planet I could only speculate about how these kids a la Kimmy were raised because they were older. Now we get to see a PMK creation practically from start to finish in these younger girls and I still find it unimaginable that not only is PMK not sitting in jail like Heidi Fleis did but she is applauded and these girls are followed and admired but young women today. This is when I am grateful that my children are grown.

There’s something so tragic about this. What’s left for her going forward? You’re already living the life of a 25 year old… what’s it going to be like when you ARE 25? Is is still fun when you’ve been doing it for 8 years? Don’t parties and clubs get boring eventually?

I kind of like the outfit itself, even though it does make her look older. While I can see why some people would have a problem with someone underage dressing like that, I personally don’t think there’s much point in making someone who will be 18 in two months suddenly start covering up NOW. If the Jenners were going to impose any sort of dress code for her, it should have started before she turned 17. It would be laughable to suddenly start now, 2 months before her 18th birthday. That’s an age where a lot of us take on this, “I’m almost grown, so I’ll do what I want whether my parents and teachers approve or not. FREEEDOM!!!” mentality. Plus, I feel like clothing is the least of Kylie’s- or her family’s- problems.
Normally I feel that with someone who’s underage but in their late teens, whether or not a clothing/piercing/tatoo choice is deemed ‘appropriate’ should for the most part be left between the parent and the kid, so I don’t have a problem when parents let their older teens enjoy some freedom when it comes to that. But Kylie admits to having low self-esteem, she probably has a very limited education, she’s been allowed and probably encouraged to get all this plastic surgery at such a young age, she’s been taught to base so much on conforming to a beauty standard, and her parents have been allowing her to date a 24-25 year-old known predator since she was 16. None of that adds up to anything good.

Self-esteem is developed through a family or support system who loves you the way you are and encourages you to develop your natural talents (math, athletics, whatever). Teaching a young girl that she’s not good enough and must change everything about her is pretty much the opposite of building self-esteem
They have no self-esteem, they are all obviously deeply insecure, thus all the needless plastic surgery and makeup.
Pretty sure that’s a wig. She does not have Kim’s Armenian hair unless she’s doing a photo op.
I’d suggest stop covering this girl. She’s not a true celebrity – just a tabloid fixture at this point. Too young for that title, but there you have it. The more she morphs her body the more attention she gets. The less clothes she wears the more attention she gets. It also seems like she’s genuinely unhappy with her appearance what with her talks of bullying and considering all the work she’s had done…
Just ignore it and it’ll go away.
It is so ironic.. young girls/women work so hard to look older..than in the years to come when they get over 30 they start trying to recapture their youth and look younger.
What is that magic age when you love yourself for who and what you are.

Kylie looks awful. At the tender young age of 17 she has already ruined her looks. Her family chunk full of body dysmorphia is obviously to blame, but yet. It is hard not to put some of this on Kylie.
Not only is this dress unflattering, it is extremely inappropriate. And she goes even farther by placing her hand UP her thigh to raise the dress even more.
I really really dislike this movement of dress less, look better. WE CAN TELL YOU HAVE A GOOD BODY. Stop the lingerie outfits. ALL of those Kardashes wear skintight clothes or barely there clothes. So unflattering and disrespectful.
She reminds me of Cher in the 70s with the makeup, ridiculous fingernails and cut to the navel dresses….so, so sad. I feel for this kid.
All of this is on no one else but the parents.
Kylie Jenner is a throw away child. She’s the youngest in a long line of self absorbed, no talent having wastes of oxygen. Her parents are worthless and her older siblings (with the possible exception of Kendall…jury is still out on that one) are a hot mess; definitely not role model material.
What we’re seeing with Kylie is what Kim would have been like had she started her ‘career’ at a younger age. By the time Kylie is Kim’s age, she will be a jaded, used up burn-out.
It’s sad, really. Born into another family, another life, she could have become something amazing.
What I find even more sad though is that an alarmingly huge segment of our society admire these people and strive to be like them.
I can only hope that they somehow miraculously mature. Their ‘role models’ certainly aren’t showing any signs of doing so.

I dressed like this but skankier in my teens. The difference was, when my folks caught wind, they threw out the trashy clothes. Your parents and siblings are supposed to be looking out for your best interests, not condoning all your teenage mistakes. I feel for this girl. Her family does not love her like they should.
That look is very Kardashian. ‘Nuff said.
I won’t go into how inappropriate her ‘morphing’ is, but write about her ‘Morticia’ look. This dress is meant for someone tall, with a long neck, it makes Kylie look thick and stumpy (no-neck) The leg pose is awkward, and shows her banged up shins. Try for the graceful look,, Kylie.
My first thought is, “Whatever.” Her fate is sealed.
well these are lovely sentiments about a girl! geez! who CARES!!! live and let live. If you don’t want her influencing you daughters, then make sure you talk to your daughters! End of story! Wow.
And to those who said that Caitlyn seems like a good parent and you were surprised s/he would let kylie be like this — How so? Doesn’t it speak volumes that s/he married Kris to begin with? Plus, there are other ways to bring attention to the transgender issue than going on Vanity Fair- Caitlyn is as much of an attention hog as the rest of them, and thrives on it.
She has really unattractive legs. Can she get those fixed?

Doesn’t look that those 30 dollar lollipops make you very happy…..if I was paying Kylie to sell those, I’l ask her to turn her eyes on and smile. Maybe someone forgot to change her batteries?
She didn’t really have a choice but to enter this lifestyle. Poor Kylie. She’s around a bunch of enablers who keep telling her “yes”. She’s got those soulless eyes that Kim has.

If she was my daughter I’d break her legs before she walked out of the house looking like that! Sexualized and sensationalized and still a teenager. What can you expect from that family anyway?
Very disturbing, did she get augmented ? the massive makeup caked on forehead & nose is distracting. Just makes me sad. Why would she want to morph into her sister with a baby face.
