The tabloids are going to be SO smug about this. Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are over. There were rumors about their struggling marriage throughout their four years of matrimony. It’s seemed especially grim for them over the past year or so, as both have attended larger events solo, and they really did seem to be living apart. Who will get custody of the 15 rescue dogs?!
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are calling it quits after four years of marriage.
“This is not the future we envisioned,” the couple said in a statement to the Associated Press Monday. “And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
The country singers tied the knot in Texas in 2011, after dating for six years.
Both remained mum on social media about the split leading up to the announcement, with Lambert Tweeting about an upcoming show just hours before the statement’s release Monday afternoon.
I’m sad. They were considered the Brangelina of country music, which means that there are probably some Blranda loonies losing their minds as we speak. As I said, the tabloids totally called this though – Blake allegedly had a major wandering eye. My guess is that he’ll step out with a new 20-something girlfriend in the next… four months, maybe?

For positive karma you should come to my neck of the woods. Annually we have frogs that cross a two lane street to get to the river and we actually have volunteers that go out there to stop traffic so that they can cross. It’s some form of migration so around May volunteers start signing up. Very sweet and dangerous at the same time.
They’re going to have to look for other “killing animals for trophy” hunting buddies.
Blake tried to get himself out of his drunk dial radio station call, by saying it was only a joke, but even if it might be a joke, what kind of person kids about that and thinks it’s remotely funny. Then he put is fans down saying they can’t take a joke. Well, Blake’s a big joke. I just can’t get that turtle incident out of my head, so he’ll always be a red neck good ol boy idiot to me.

It’s so hard to reconcile that with all she’s done with her animal shelter. That’s horrifying. I stopped my car the other day to jump out and carry a turtle across the street where it was headed. Held up four cars behind me, but no one seemed to mind. And I’m in Texas!
I grew up in a rural area (and weekended with the grandparents in an even more rural area, in Virginia) and have NEVER heard of this turtle stuff. We always tried to not hit a turtle on rural roads! I don’t think I’ve ever been driving or riding in a vehicle that even accidentally did so!

@JudyK. This happened nearly 3 years ago, so Miranda was married to Blake, but might not have been in the truck with him when he said he swerved to hit the turtle. I was wrong in saying he phoned into a radio show. He tweeted it and celebitchy covered this story when it happened.
He swerved to HIT a turtle?? What an ASS!!! I’m in Texas also and most people stop to pick up the turtles in the road.
lol I’m in the Louisiana bayou right outside New Orleans and I have a box in the trunk of my car full of old ratty tee shirts, towels and blankets for tossing over animals to safely help them out of harms way (which I find it worth noting that if an animal is crossing the street and you choose to help you should always take it to the side it was heading – if not it crosses later without help.) I have moved/crossed/rescued many a turtle, snake and small animal – I draw the line at alligator. When those guys are out it’s all caution lights and waving people around while they move on or (if hurt) wildlife and fisheries come out! :))

my sister, a trainer, always says when a person starts to loose weight and go to the gym (and haven’t made a habit of before), there is a side piece involved.
I heard that when a family member suddenly started using every lunch to work out (she was already slender and never showed an interest in working out). Couldn’t believe it, but in a few weeks, she asked her husband to leave and turns out she was already hitting the singles scene.
You never know what people are up to until it’s to late.
There were rumors she was getting close to another singer Chris Young in March. I think she was cheating on Blake that’s why he filed.
My co-worker from years ago, started exercising a lot and trimmed down (wasn’t heavy to begin with) and started dressing sexier as far as more fitted clothes. She was having an affair.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but from what I read today to refresh my memory, she apparently was the one who decided he was ‘the one’ after they sang a duet on an awards show. She’d never sang with a country star before, so at first she thought the butterflies resulted from that. Yet they both recognized the chemistry. (My personal opinion is that he probably feels chemistry with most any female.)
That appearance was around 2005, and they married about six years later. Now, here we are, four years after that.

Makes sense to me. They got involved around the same time, he was married, and admitted he fell in love with her while still married. Plus, they’re both at the top of their industry. And people seem to be really invested in them as a couple.
That last part is the part I didn’t get, haha. Do people really care about them as a couple? I’ve never heard of anybody even talking about them (except the occasional tabloid cover) let alone people actually being invested in them (meaning either hate or love) before. I guess I just haven’t looked in the right places.

Completely different situation. Not that I’m saying men can’t be tempted. Miranda had to deal with probably dozens of groupies throwing themselves at Blake on a daily bases. As a country fan, she’s my favorite artist and has been for several years. I’ve seen her live… four times I think? Most recently in February – and she had lost the ‘spark’ at that show. We all walked away thinking how strange it was that she didn’t seem into it at all. I think this makes a bit more sense now. Sad.
Although, the first thing I texted my bestie about was how much I was looking forward to her next album now!

I don’t keep up with country music, but anything I hear or read about this guy is punctuated by his alcohol overconsumption. So no surprise here. Nobody likes a drunk. That crap gets old fast.

There’s a good eight year difference between the two of them, and well…they met when she was, what, 25-26ish? Eight years can be a big difference when you’re young. And she’s at her peak, so if he’s not towing the line on his end, why would she put up with it?
They met when she was 21. Don’t think she got the “sowing wild oats” out of her system. There were rumors in March she got too cozy to another country singer. Maybe she cheated on Blake, he found out and filed for divorce. But they could’ve both been cheating and both found other sidepieces.

I tend to agree generally, but with Brad and Angelina, I don’t think he was ever as in love with Jen as you’re supposed to be to marry someone. I do think Brad and Angelina had that crazy soul mate feeling we are all lucky to experience once in a lifetime. I totally am not an Brange shipper, but they have stood a pretty good test of time, illness and struggle in their relationship. If they do split I don’t think it will be because he’s fallen in love with someone else.
Angie is too skinny. Brad’s not looking too good these days from his hard party and jet time. It’s not good for kids to fly all the time and Brad put his foot down to stay home and get rest. 10 years is a long time for a stud to stick it in the same place. They will split and she will freak out. He should get back with the hot blond and make Chris Martin jealous for having hot Jennifer Lawrence. Or Brad go for Jennifer.

It’s sad. I think they really loved each other. It was already hard enough to maintain a marriage with two singer/musicians when they are at the peak of their careers and off touring, and country music artists tour a lot and meet with their fans a lot. Add to that Blake’s breakout huge popularity on the Voice now for many seasons, and where’s the time? He on his off time from the show still goes out and tours to keep his career high. And he drinks A LOT. There was really no time for them as a couple. And that huge swell of popularity that hit Blake from The Voice that crossed over probably brought him even more opportunities.
