Kaley Cuoco bought a horse to celebrate her divorce, of course

Welcome to the family , Zaza! 💗💗💗💗

A photo posted by @normancook on

How does the average woman celebrate or mourn the death of her marriage? I suspect many women go out and get hammered with their girlfriends. Maybe a night in, watching sad movies and eating ice cream. For Kaley Cuoco, following her “surprise” announcement on Friday night that she and husband Ryan Sweeting were divorcing, Kaley celebrated a different way. She bought a horse, it seems. Kaley Instagrammed the above photo over the weekend, welcoming this horse, Zaza, into her family. Zaza is beautiful.

That wasn’t the only Instagram move Kaley made – she also deleted all of the photos of Ryan from her Instagram page. Seriously – go here to see. Kaley had always been pretty showy about her relationship and marriage to Ryan, using Instagram to paint a picture of a loved-up couple, happy at home with a house full of dogs. No more. E! News analyzed the decision, citing a Brunel University London study that found that “people are more likely to post relationship-relevant information on Facebook on days when they feel insecure.” In which case, Kaley has been insecure about her marriage from the very beginning.

People Magazine has an “exclusive” story about the split up right now. A source says: “The few times Kaley and Ryan were out together recently, the tension was noticeable. You could tell the honeymoon phase had ended. It seemed they were trying to work out their marriage by going on dates, but they both seemed miserable.” Sure, I believe that. I also believe that most of the tabloid stories from the past year were true, especially about Kaley being kind of over the fact that Ryan basically did nothing but sit around and play video games.

I’m also including some photos of Kaley doing some competitive horse-jumping with Zaza this weekend. The photos are notable, I suppose, because Kaley has already removed her wedding ring.

Good! Dressage is so boring, I was hoping she was going to get a jumper.

    • LA Juice says:

I would say just the opposite. I’d have more respect for her if she had the horsewoman skills and patience to ride dressage. Dressage is all about the unspoken communication and relationship between the horse and person. show jumping is flashy and brutal on the animal.

      • Liv says:

It’s not necessarily brutal, but she seems like a show rider. Plus these pictures were definitely staged.

  2. kri says:

That horse’s face! She’s like “HAYYYYY YEAHHHH”.When I got divorced I went and bought a lovely frame for my certificate. It’s on a shelf in my book room.

  3. Aussie girl says:

My, the times have changed. No more ripping up photos, now it’s deleting the ex from all your social media accounts.
Oh and the girls got money, if she wants to buy a horse as a type of post break up therapy, than go for it.

  4. Nancy says:

Of course she got a horse. Ha. If she had put as much effort into her marriage as she does seeking attention from the media, perhaps she’d still be married. Nah, she would still be a divorcee with a horse. Love when they delete pictures…mature girl.

    • Aussie girl says:

It could have been him, maybe she did put effort in. It was silly to jump in and yes I agree with the media chasing but we are not privy to the details. But Im not going to begrudge the girl because she loves horses and has a hobby.

    • Esmom says:

Yikes, I’m not a fan of hers but all this seems unnecessarily harsh. We have no idea how much effort she did or didn’t put into her marriage or the real reason for the split. I’d be inclined to cut her some slack during what’s gotta be a pretty emotional time.

      • WinnieCoopersMom says:

+1 ..if anything SHE was the one most likely putting in the effort by working all day and coming home to cook for her husband, while he just sat around all day. Takes two to try.

    • Nancy says:

Sorry you all disagree, but she tries so darn hard. Superman, the marriage to someone else ten minutes later, OMG I cut my hair, the continuous posts on ig and twitter….the divorce, the divorce horse. She just needs to settle down, mature a little bit, have some alone time and she will be good as new.

    • Wren says:

She was probably planning on getting the horse already. You can’t just go out and buy a new horse like you buy a new car or a new outfit. There isn’t a Horses R Us.

I mean, duh, her marriage wasn’t going to last forever but I don’t get why so many people slam her. She’s hardly the first actress to get married in a hurry, be thirsty on social media and then get a divorce. Pretty standard Hollywood stuff, really.

      • Nancy says:

Nah. She’s thirsty. There are plenty of actresses out there that are never on blogs because they live their lives under the radar. This girl is like Lucy trying to get into Ricky’s club…but Lucy was funny. Like I said she needs to buy her coffee without a pap call, just live her life and she’ll be fine….unless she likes the attention which I suspect she does.

      • ottbstateside says:

Exactly, her trainer had to find the horse, it had to be tried, vetted, negotiated etc. no doubt this was a high 5 figure or even 6 figure (depending on how talented the horse is ) purchase, this has been in the works of a while, and good for her! My husband likes to joke that my horse and I are “till death do we part” but he isn’t too sure where he stands #truth

      • Wren says:

ottb: I know, right! You can go to the livestock auction and pick up anything on the spur of the moment, but this is a high dollar, well bred, highly trained animal. Buying them is a process.

And again, Kaley is hardly the only actress (or celebrity) who calls the paps for every mundane outing. Why hate on her so hard when everyone in that town is desperately thirsty? Celebs living quietly is hardly the norm. At least she has a life outside the famewhore game.

      • Bridget says:

I was thinking about that too. It’s not like going to the pet store and getting a fish.

      • Original T.C. says:

But she is the first I’ve heard of to have a guy move in with her after ONE date. And she rubbed her relationship in every one’s face. Going from zero to Kardashian fame whore starting with the superman epic fail fauxmance.

    • nic says:

Why would she keep the pictures up? How is that immature? What a weird comment.

      • amilue says:

I agree. I’m one of those boring people who doesn’t share personal photos in my social media profiles, but I don’t think it’s immature at all. If you’re no longer with someone, you should delete (or at least make private) photos of that person.

Wouldn’t it be strange if you were the next guy who comes along, and she’s got 2348723 loved-up photos of her ex-husband in her gallery/timeline? Why wouldn’t you remove those?

And if I was the other party, I wouldn’t want my mug all over my ex’s profile!

  5. Tiffany27 says:

I wonder if she genuinely thought they would stay married? She couldn’t have possibly thought that right?

  6. Birdix says:

I got a cat when my parents divorced–it was like the universe distilled all the sweetness and love I needed and gave it to that cat. I adored her.

    • Lilacflowers says:

When my fiancé dumped me, my sister gave me a kitten. That cat made the whole world better.

    • byland says:

When my fiancé, now husband, was deployed I adopted a second dog. The idea was protection, somewhat, now that I was living alone, but it turned out to be more emotional support, starting with the way the two of them would sprawl all over me in bed. When The Mister came home he had to fight for mattress space.

      • nic says:

        Love this story.

      • byland says:

Thanks! So do I, actually. I like to tell it when the dog(s) and The Mister are there. My husband 6′ 1″ with what are pretty much Captain America biceps and the dogs were a Foxhound and a German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix. I barely fit on the bed with them and I’m 5′ 1″, so it was a struggle there for a while. 😉

  7. minx says:

    Why not?

  8. Tig says:

Beautiful horse! She has a good eye for horses- her other(former?) horse was also very pretty. It’s an expensive hobby at any level, but the girl has the $$, so get your jump on Kaley!

  9. Embee says:

Great choice for a break-up purchase! Is Za an Oldenburg? So pretty…

  10. vauvert says:

Better than going out and getting plastered. (I never understood that. I am happy, I drink, I break up, I drink, it’s a birthday, I drink. Seriously…)
It will be interesting to see if it becomes a mess or not. My opinion is that she will pay him to oh away quietly.

  11. Mia4S says:

She is showing symptoms of a textbook former child star. Insecure, needing public validation, and will never be satisfied with where her career stands. Medium-talent sitcom actress who will be in her 30s before their show ends? She’s peaked. For some people that would be fine but this one has the aura of desperation.

  12. Jayna says:

It sounds like a very emotionally healthy thing to do.

  13. Lexie says:

    Take note, Leann Rimes.

  14. Dhavynia says:

Some people adopt animals, she buys horses. Lucky her that she has the money for it and I see nothing wrong with it, from what I’ve read she really loves these animals so why not?
Shotgun weddings are never good, especially when your significant other won’t get off the couch

    • Ponytail says:

She wasn’t pregnant, as far as we know, so it wasn’t really a shotgun wedding, was it ?

    • Crumpet says:

Do you know what a shotgun wedding is? It’s when a pregnant bride’s father holds the husband to be at gunpoint until he marries her (makes an honest woman out of her). So no, this wasn’t a shotgun wedding.

  15. It'sJustBlanche says:

Good for her. I don’t know why everyone is so hard on this woman. A lot of people go through stupid, short-lived marriages in their 20s. It’s not a mark against them as a person, just a mistake. There weren’t any kids, it sounds like there was a lot of drama. No big deal. Buying a horse is a lot smarter than going out and drinking and hooking up with other guys right away.

    • Mia4S says:

Oh I agree there’s no shame in the short marriage. In the famewhoring of the marriage? A bit.

It’s fine though…unless the rumor of there being no pre-nup is true. If she didn’t get a pre-nup then people need to be very very hard on her because that is a massively stupid thing for a wealthy working woman to do!!

      • It'sJustBlance says:

I thought the same thing. For what it’s worth, I think she’s smarter than she looks. She managed to take a nothing character on a show that was all about the guys and come out pretty good. Let’s hope she kept her money!

      • Tiffany :) says:

Per TMZ, she had a pre-nup that was signed a month before the wedding.

  16. Lindy79 says:

Meh , she’s been into horses and been riding for years and seems very into it so I don’t see this as that weird.
If she’d never ridden it would weird.

  17. satty says:

going through a divorce is like grieving; there is no “right” way to do it. give her a break.

  18. Mimz says:

I see nothing wrong here, if I could afford a horse, i would have a bunch of them. They are beautiful, beautiful creatures.
I had a college classmate who was very into horses, she grew up in a farm, and apparently when you have such closeness with horses, it’s hard not to see everything in your life relating to horses. Case in point: she designed her 3rd year graduate fashion range exclusively to horseriders (it was costume mostly and honestly, it was shiny velvet and it looked terrible), and she made presentations, many school-related tasks kind of horse-themed.

I just mean to say that maybe Kaley is one of those people. And that’s ok…

    • Wren says:

She’s a horse girl. Some of us are just born that way. I’ve always had a soft spot for her because of it. Horse people can talk about horses for hours.

    • Crumpet says:

You’re either born crazy for them or not. I was born crazy for them, and had them for years. I still dream about some of favorites…

  19. Jackson says:

Good for her. But I also doubt she just went out and purchased the horse on a spur of the moment decision to get over her marriage breakup. People usually invest a lot of time beforehand making sure it’s the right one for them. Hmm. Then again, they usually do that with husbands first, too. :-O
Ah well, I think this horse is going to bring her way more joy than TennisFed. Congrats!

    • sills says:

“Then again, they usually do that with husbands first, too. :-O”

BOOM! LOL, hard truth right there. Better luck next time Kaley.

  20. lunchcoma says:

I’m normally hard on Kaley, but it looks like she already owns at least one horse – there are pictures of her online riding one named Thor last year.

I’d probably judge someone for getting a pet of a type they’d never owned before after a divorce or breakup, but if she has a good idea what being a horse owner involves, I don’t see a problem with her adding a new one to the family. It can be a good distraction when life is otherwise stressful – I added a second cat to my houeshold after a breakup earlier this year.

  21. funcakes says:

Okay. I know I’m going to catch sh@t but I have to say this girl is a hot mess.
She should do nothing major for at least a year like they tell people who get out of rehab.

  22. Cheryl says:

This is going to go one of two ways. She is going to rebound into something weird. Well Carvill was weird, Sweeting was weirder… she’s going to rebound into weirdest. It will be nothing but magazine covers “friends fear for Kaley”. She’s not interesting enough to do this right. Which would be full Brittany crazy.

Or she’s going to do the expected thing and 1. get her “revenge body”. 2. start doing interviews about how she’s growing as a person and learning to love herself…zzzzzz 3. emerge form her cocoon better than ever with a new lifestyle brand on QVC. She’ll do sheets or cake pans or yoga pants.

Or she could keep her head down and just work, but I don’t see that happening at this point.

    • Mimz says:

she wouldn’t get a revenge body she already has a bangin body.
about the rebound, the BBT lover in me hopes she’s rebounding from her relationship with the actor that plays Leonard, and they are so cute together.
Other than that, I agree. Some PR move is underway.

      • WinnieCoopersMom says:

I agree, she was w Johnny G on/off for many many years .. seems like it would be easy for them to get back together, and I hope they do!

  23. Teri says:

As soon as I read the headline the Mr. Ed theme song popped into my head and is refusing to leave. “A horse is a horse of course of course!”

  24. Esteph says:

Maybe she finally saw what everyone else was saying? Either way, let the chica celebrate her newfound singledom.

  25. sassy says:

my divorce was final last week i WISH i could go out and buy a beautiful horse……

    • jeanpierre says:

I know right? That lucky b*tch.
Just joking. Funny thing is I only care for that person because of her horses, as I don’t watch her show or follow her in any way 🙂

  26. Grace says:

This reminds me of the “loving” tweets between Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell when they were together. Bell does not tweet like that anymore now he is with Kate Mara.

  27. L says:

I can’t believe I know this, but all of her horses look the same. She clearly has a type of jumping horse that she prefers.

The horse she’s jumping with at the Grand Prix isn’t the new one she just bought. She’s riding her horse Nettie Pie-not Zasa. There’s no way she start riding a brand new horse that she bought on Friday, at a pretty big jumping competition on Saturday. She just retired her previous horse Uvar a few weeks back, and he had the exact same look. Chestnut with a white streak down the nose.

  28. ToodySezHey says:

at least with the horse she gets some banging for her buck

guess Ryan will have to start training again

  29. OhDear says:

There are worse ways to celebrate (or mourn) a divorce, I suppose. She’s good to her animals, so can’t object to that.

  30. amp122076 says:

Why is Bristol Palin in the photo?

  31. Lbliss says:

Super cute horse! I thought she was an accomplished rider? Maybe these pics here don’t showcase it well. How did you get Grand Prix out of those pics?

  32. AtlLady says:

I always thought Kaley was more into Ryan than he was into her and she fell hard for him. It takes two to make a relationship work. He looked bored from the get-go, even before the wedding. I hope the divorce doesn’t get messy and he just takes whatever $$ she offers him and disappears. It wouldn’t surprise me if she caught him cheating on her just to have something to do with his time since his “injuries” have kept him from playing competitive tennis.

    • Bob Loblaw says:

I don’t know, he kind of has that sad sack face, I follow tennis and he was on the circuit for quite a while, in every interview he looked like he was about to fall asleep.

  33. Krista says:

And queue Parks and Rec Divorce Horse clip….

  34. Abby says:

Nothing to add about the divorce, but as a fellow horse girl, I see no need for an occasion to buy a beautiful horse. It’s Monday… I need a new horse!

    Wasn’t Henry Cavill’s ex-fiancee a competitive show jumper….?

  35. word says:

That house is cursed lol. She bought Khloe and Lamar’s old house.

Also, when you buy a horse, you don’t just pick one out and take it home. There is stuff involved. Most likely she had been in the process of buying it already.

Lastly, be ware…the ones who always put on a perfect life display on instgram/facebook are usually doing so as a front for a bad marriage…not all people, but MOST.

  36. Annaliese says:

I stopped wearing rings when I was riding. You really, really don’t want to get a rein or a lead caught in a ring, even if you’re wearing gloves.

As for buying a new horse–more power to her. If it’s a sport she enjoys and she can afford it, why not?

  37. Bread and Circuses says:

*Can* you impulse-buy a horse? The horse-people I know usually spend a ton of time investigating a new animal before they decide to buy it–but then they’re not independently wealthy, and horses are expensive.

So I guess what I’m saying is I think it’s likely the horse purchase could have been in the works for a while, and she’s just announcing it now.

    • Abby says:

Yeah it’s a process. A little bit longer than buying a car. Maybe she had her eye on one previously and just pulled the trigger?

  38. Elosaurus says:

As long as she loves her horse and can take care of it I’m not judging 🙂 maybe she deleted his pictures because she doesn’t want negative comments on her social media accounts. She could also be the type of person who blocks/deletes people as soon as she’s single or stops being friends with someone 😀

  39. Vampi says:

I just love her. I can’t explain why… I just do. I hope she finds her REAL true love someday.

  40. Genevra says:

Can’t blame her — I’d take a post-breakup horse over a new handbag any day.
