Duchess Kate posted two new portraits of adorable 6-month-old Princess Charlotte

charlotte2

I was wondering if we were going to get new photos/family portraits of Princess Charlotte and Prince George before Christmas, so… this makes sense. Early Sunday morning, the @KensingtonRoyal Twitter account published two exclusive portraits of Princess Charlotte, taken by her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge. The photos were taken in “early November” of the six-month-old princess, in what looks like Anmer Hall. KP’s press office writes, “The Duke and Duchess hope everyone enjoys these new photos of Princess Charlotte as much as they do.”

I actually enjoy the fact that Kate takes photos of her kids and posts those photos on social media for the world to enjoy. It is, in a word, “normal.” We have seen very little of Charlotte beyond the christening photos and Kate’s portraits, and we definitely haven’t seen a clear shot of Charlotte’s face in months and months. I’m not surprised to see that Charlotte is a little brunette, are you? She had dark hair as a newborn as well. I think she really takes after Kate, where George looks more like William as a boy. But… George has brown eyes (like some Middleton relations) and Charlotte has her father’s blue eyes.

The photo of Charlotte laughing at her stuffed animal? SO CUTE. I hope she’s a happy baby, for Will and Kate’s sake. I think George still rules the Cambridge household with an iron baby fist, and George really has an excess of personality, so much so that Will and Kate are sometimes overwhelmed by him. But Charlotte seems like less of a prankster. She’s probably been forced by her brother to be more easy-going.

    CUTE, cute baby. Fugly sofa.

    • Christin says:

Don’t worry, she will change it soon. (The chair, that is.)

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

It’s a classic country French chair, not a sofa, in a classic country French fabric.

      • FLORC says:

I have the same style in the sitting room. I love it.
And yes, chair. You can see it’s shape is almost entirely in the frame.

      • bluhare says:

They need toile. Can’t get enough judiciously placed toile.

      • FLORC says:

        Bluhare
Ugh! I can’t handle that print! It drives me mad as it’s never well lined to other patterns or stitching.
If Kate refused that in her household I’ll praise the hell out of her like she wore a tailored pants suit that she wasn’t poured into. I’ll praise the hell out of that!

Side thought. 1 of the 1st items after seeing that fabric was how you can’t really ever get baby puke out of it. Scotch guard is a must. There wil forever be a discoloration that your guests may not notice, but you always will.

      • bluhare says:

Haha, FLORC. I’m a sucker for toile. Judiciously placed toile. Too much of it makes my teeth ache.

      • Liberty says:

bluhare — I am in the toile club with you. Fell in love with it during my formative Boston years!

      • bluhare says:

Ah, Liberty. Another person of great taste and stoile! 😉

      • FLORC says:

        Bluhare
My interpretation of “judiciously” was liberal. Not discreet or well placed as busuu (my translation app) tells me.
I can handle it on blankets and maybe a single chair.
I did think you were absolutely nutty for wanting it Everywhere! Thank goodness that wasn’t the situation!

      • Betti says:

i like the chair/sofa – very shaby chic which is my style. It probably came from Laura Ashley.

    • Faun says:

      Enjoy your IKEA stuff!

      • COSquared says:

There’s no ikea in my country.

      • mialouise says:

Damn, people are jumping to defend an ugly piece of furniture because a royal baby behind is on it??? The chair is hideous. Doesnt matter if it’s expensive. Expensive stuff can be ugly.

      • Betsy says:

@mialouise – it’s not a piece I’d put in my house, but I can appreciate it.

      • Chinoiserie says:

Maybe people defend the chair because they like the chair? I like the desingn but not the fabric.

      • Crumpet says:

mialouise, we don’t all have the same taste, do we? It’s also not something I would chose to own, but I also can appreciate it.

        Toile though…. I kid, I kid.

      • ArtHistorian says:

What’s wrong with IKEA? I love IKEA – I have some lovely pieces, among other things a lovely closet that also is visually pleasing as well as a reclining chair that is both beautiful and ergonomically correct. Good design is when form and function complement each other. I have seen plenty of furniture that is expensive and beautiful but uncomfortable to use – or household items that are beautiful but impractical when it comes to daily use. Good design doesn’t have to be expensive.

I also appreciate IKEA because they really make it so much easier to decorate a small home in a practical manner that doesn’t eat up all the space.

    • mialouise says:

      Cosign both sentiments.

    • MadMenluv says:

OMG that chair is gorgeous! How can anyone see it as “fugly” …

    • jane says:

My best guess is that chair is a couple hundred years old.
I love some toile too. I have a homemade Country Curtains red toile shower curtain and matching valance in the loo. Brightens up an otherwise bland room.

And the princess? As adorable as her brother, I’d say. I hope they give us a Christmas pic!

  2. Freebunny says:

She’s adorable and looks so much like her brother.

  3. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Really cute. She looks happy and healthy.

  4. Jane says:

She’s adorable! Love that picture with the stuffed animal.

  5. Illyra says:

    Awwww! She is gorgeous!

  6. ali.hanlon says:

    One cool baby.

  7. jeanne says:

I think she looks like a Windsor whereas George is all Middleton. The second I saw Charlotte’s eyes I thought of Queen Elizabeth which is good. For the sake of Charlotte, I hope she doesn’t look too much like Diana. There will be enough comparisons wanting to be made.

    • Beth No. 2 says:

I thought she looks like the Queen too, especially the first pic.

      • Sarah says:

That’s the first thing I thought when I looked at the pictures. Charlotte looks just like the Queen IMO.

    • bluhare says:

Funny because I think she’s a Middleton through and through. We’ll see more as she gets older, but I see Carole and Pippa there.

      • notasugarhere says:

I agree, bluhare, I think she looks like a mini Carole. Lady Louise is one who looks like a mini-HM.

      • zinjojo says:

Bluehare, I agree. When I first saw the pics, I thought Carole Middleton — guess we’ll see as she gets older.

      • Liberty says:

me too, Nota and bluhare — posted before I read your comments on this, but I too agree — George. Maybe a dash of Pippa around the mouth?

Someone mentioned the Queen’s eyes above, and now I cannot unsee that — cute.

      • CG says:

ITA, Bluehare. That face is pure Carole!

    • ncboudicca says:

Looks like the Queen around the eyes, for sure.

    • Hazel says:

I’m with most others–I think she looks like her Middleton grandma, while George looks like his Middleton gramps. And Charlotte’s mouth is a replicate of her mother’s.

      • FLORC says:

Yea. When compared baby pictures or young pictures I can’t see TQ. It’s all midd all the way.

    • AtlLady says:

I think Charlotte has the Queen’s eyes. I also think she is quickly learning how to turn a steely eye to George when he gets out of hand.

    • Original T.C. says:

She looks EXACTLY like George. Like carbon copy. I actually thought it was George until I read the headline. Same head shape, hair pattern, facial features etc. only difference is the eye color.

    • bobslaw says:

+1 Those Windsor genes are STRONG

      • Feeshalori says:

Charlotte’s got her mother’s well-defined eyebrows. Sweet baby and her chortling at her stuffed toy is too adorable.

  8. Jegede says:

    So Lovely

But in my eyes she looks much more like William.

  9. Eleonor says:

She is adorable, and I bet Harry will spoil the hell out of her.

  10. lucy2 says:

Cute! George and Charlotte are both adorable. I hope she’s as much of a trouble maker as he is.

  11. vauvert says:

Both kids are beautiful, the photo of Charlotte laughing at her stuffie is just adorable. Hopefully they are also going to grow up kind and funny like uncle Harry.

    • Lama Bean says:

These pics just melt my ice cold, cynical , Scrooge-like heart.

      I just can’t. She’s so beautiful.

  12. Nancy says:

    Baby blue eyes.

  13. Tania says:

She’s cute. I feel like she looks like a mix of William and the queen.

  14. LAK says:

    I see Carol’s face.

The shape of her head is the same as PGtips/Mike Middleton.

    • jeanne says:

I agree. The more I look at her, I see Carole in the face shape and expression, just not in the eyes. I think she might have Windsor eyes.

      • FLORC says:

        Agree
The Midd line carries strong. She’s cute too. I’m skeptical on her keping William’s blue eyes. Tinting in photos isn’t uncommon and babies can still maintain a heavy amount of blue at 6 months and still have brown/hazel/green eyes for life.

      • viola says:

Yes my girls had babyblue eyes until they were one years old actully! But now they have hazel/brown with hints of green. So the eyecolour definitely can change up until one year or even more, I’ve heard of kids changing eyecolour even at 4-5 years.
I think she looks a lot like ma Middleton actually! Especially the expression and around the mouth.

        Anyway she’s a lovely baby! 🙂

      • Liberty says:

had blue eyes until I was FOUR. Yep FOUR. They turned hazel while we were on holiday up at the lake. When packing up the car to leave, there was a small moment of panic among my parents and aunts and uncles, apparently — was I the correct child? (yeah, my parents were…..) — My grandmother stepped in to assure them it was me, my eyes had changed color and I was wearing the new sundress she’d brought for me. The running family joke is that maybe I was switched at the lake! One of my eyes is now brown and one hazel/amber — occurred about age 5.

But eye color can change late. A male cousin’s eyes changed late too, in this manner: one remains crystal blue – the other is now brown! To him, it happened at about age 3. My optometrist told me it’s called something heterochromia — I may be spelling it incorrectly.

      • noway says:

I can’t tell for sure from the photos, but Charlotte looks similar to my daughter. She had slate blue eyes until she was about one and they turned brown. You can’t tell for sure till they are older, but you can tell the shape are beautiful. She seems like such a happy alert baby. Nice pictures by Kate too. I also think this is great that they do this like normal people.

    • bluhare says:

I should have scrolled down. I think so too.

    • Betti says:

Yes – she’s def a Middleton. Very cute and smiley baby.

This must be the press’s reward for all the nice things they’ve being saying about them and their new workload.

  15. AlmondJoy says:

So cute! She looks like her dad to me.

  16. kayte says:

The cynic in me wonders whether a) this is to distract the media from something; b) placate the media so they don’t report negatively on something that’s happened/about to happen c)Mustique bags are packed and ready to go

    • COSquared says:

Those bags may be lying in a bedroom of Mustique villa already. It’s amazing how plenty of us have become cynical over the past 4+ years over these 2.

    • Tammy White says:

Who cares, that’s a cute baby!

      • FLORC says:

Everyone here cares a certain amount. You also to take time to comment against it. If there was no caring no attention would be paid.

    • notasugarhere says:

Whenever they release photos of the kids it is a PR move. Similar to the secret press meeting a few weeks ago, where the hidden children were shown. After that, loads of pro-Kate articles came out.

      • noway says:

Of course it is a PR move. So, it’s not like a fake PR move. She has a very cute baby who will most likely, unless something drastic happens with the monarchy, be photographed a lot. Might as well get them used to it early. Granted pro Kate pieces will probably show up too, but even if you don’t like her she isn’t the devil incarnate. She has positive qualities and I think her kids illustrate that. Until they get older and we get Mommy Dearest type info I think I am going with happy family.

      • notasugarhere says:

They only release photos like this, like clockwork, deliberately. Covering vacation, family scandal, William pitching a fit over legally-taken photos from Woman’s Day, Harry getting great press from Sentebale.

I don’t think she’s the devil incarnate. I think she is shamefully lazy and lousy at her taxpayer-funded job. I think they picked a good nanny.

    • perplexed says:

I think it’s a PR move, but, eh, I like the baby pics. They’re the only interesting thing about Kate and William.

    • zinjojo says:

Yep, it’s clearly a PR move. Either they’re in Mustique (no more scheduled events that I’m aware of until around the 9th or 10th of December, plus Harry has received positive press the past several days with his work in Africa.

      • kayte says:

Oh yes, I forgot about Harry. Very true that they spring to action whenever he gets coverage for his work. Trouble is, they can’t seem to “outwork” him . Smoke and mirrors..

    • wolfie says:

Jason made sure these posted on the last day of the Thanksgiving holiday for his American “People Magazine” fans. The royals want Americans to love them in order to have their support and donations. (bwah!)

      • FLORC says:

Baby pictures! Wait… wasn’t some heavy shade tossed at William fr not doing anything to help his passion of rescue.. Wait… Baby Charlotte laughing at a plushy? So Cute… was I talking about something? Hmm… Must have forgot. Look at the baby!

They exploit their children. Exploitation and extreme sheltering are not healthy imo. But hey. Cute baby pics so why question it.

      • notasugarhere says:

Yes, they use them for PR. That much is obvious. William learned more than a few tricks from his mother.

      • Emily C. says:

“Exploitation and extreme sheltering are not healthy imo.”

Yep. It’s the way of royalty.

    • hannah says:

They really can’t win here . If they don’t release pictures people are also complaining .

  17. What's inside says:

Holy Smoke, the Middleton influence is strong in these kids. George has the look of Michael Middleton and Charlotte looks like Carol.

  18. Ollie says:

The Middleton genes are strong. First Little Michael and now Little Carole-Pippa.

    • LAK says:

The Windsor genes take on average 25yrs , assert themselves.

All their babies start out resembling the in-laws or older non-windsor relatives, and then at 25yrs-ish, bam!! The Windsor asserts itself and completely overshadows the other genes.

      • FLORC says:

It almost never fails either. Even in cases where you’d think a mother’s side genetics wins in the case of Windsor genes it’s just the exception to the rule. I’m still a bit stumped by it, but it’s documented to happen.

      • Alix says:

In the end, they all look like Queen Mary, with whom (IMO) the whole “Windsor look” started. Check out some pics of her, you’ll see.

      • LAK says:

        Alix: yep!!

It’s simply amazing that despite several generations of new genes’ infusion, the Windsor strain remains as strong as ever. Across all her descendants, not just HM’s family.

      • teacakes says:

how old are the York girls? Eugenie doesn’t look very Windsor at all, though Beatrice looks like a throwback.

      • notasugarhere says:

Eugenie is a Bowes-Lyon doppelganger. Lady Louise is the one who has looked like HM from very early on.

      • LAK says:

Teacakes: Eugenie is 25yrs old whilst Beatrice is 27yrs old.

Eugenie primarily looks like the Queen Mother as a young woman, but over the next few years, the Windsor will start to show.

Beatrice is a throwback, but lately, there is something like the Queen (as a young woman) about her face. It’s like a ghost peaking out from her face in some photos.

      • COSquared says:

Beatrice gives me Queen Victoria vibes in the 1840’s. Somehow the Windsor ladies don’t carry a whiff of Alexandra while Michael is in his lonesome with the Georgie/Nicky Danish looks.

      • COSquared says:

Sadly enough, that most terrible Windsor gene is creeping on Harry at a faster pace.

      • Azurea says:

        It’s the reptilian blood-line.😎

      • Liberty says:

Every time I see little Lady Louise, I smile — she has been through a lot, and has this wise, knowing expression even in balcony images etc I can see her stepping up to assist Prince Harry in the future as the new “Anne” of her generation! Her mom is no slacker, and maybe this girl is the work-hope on the female side. I am a fan, haha.

      • mayamae says:

@ Cosquared, it’s unnerving how that happens. Harry’s eyes are growing closer and closer together. He’s morphing into Charles. At least it will shut up those wanting Harry to be the product of an affair, even though red hair is common in the Spencers.

      • Victoria says:

If anyone got their actual dna samples and blood types now *hot dang* that would be something

So you are speculating about red hair, blue eyes, harry

        Just look at the blood!

  19. Zigggy says:

    Awww!

  20. lisa2 says:

she is a cutie.. a toothless giggle is the best.

I like that her hair is darker.. hope it stays that way. Will and Kate made cute babies.

    • Cricket says:

They do indeed make cute babies! I hope they don’t stop at two and have two more 🙂 They have the housing and financials to afford it and they do seem to want a big family.

      • FLORC says:

They earn their own money? Well then more children they can support from their own pockets is fine. Not a burden.

There’s been only gossip running they want a big family stories with direct quotes from them countering that. More than 2 has never been confirmed past Star and Sun level credibility.

Should they be able to hold their own financially i’ll remove all shade regarding this.
Or was this a joke? If so disregard and fill in my laughter. I can’t tell in text. Sorry.

      • notasugarhere says:

FLORC, I was ROTFL at that comment myself. They don’t spend a penny of their own money.

  21. InvaderTak says:

The photos themselves are pretty good actually. I would have gone with more contrast; maybe put Charlotte in a darker colored outfit.

    • Alix says:

      I know I wouldn’t have put a six-month-old in cashmere, no matter how much $$$ I had!

    • notasugarhere says:

They’re very similar to the photos of Leonore of Sweden.

      • mayamae says:

Do you mean Kate copied? I have pictures a hundred years ago of me as an infant on sofas and chairs with stuffed animal. I need to tell my mom these royal families are copying her.

      • FLORC says:

        mayamae
I don’t think nota was saying Kate copied that directly in a negative way at all.
More that there is a similar style. Just as a reference. Or even a styling. Not to mimic in a bad way.

      • Pondering thoughts says:

One point is that Kate has very few original ideas of her own. Therefore it is quite realistic to assume she looked to other more successfull royal families to learn how to present the baby.
The photo itself isn’t good. Over-lighted and light coming in from the wrong angle. Shadows in the wrong place. It is a try-hard-cute-baby-pic. And I bet some amateur photographers here could say a few more things …

That picture of Prince George sitting on that step – that was a good pic.

  22. Cupcake says:

George is a much cuter child in my opinion. He also radiates much more dynamism. She may still be a blond yet. Some don’t go blond until over 1 year.

    • Colette says:

      “Radiates much more dynamism” LOL

    • swack says:

I was going to say the same thing about her hair. My middle child had the darkest brown hair when she was born. By the time she was 1 she was blonde. Every summer her hair would almost go white from the sun. In the winter and spring it looked like she had roots. People used to stare at us because it was 4 dark haired people and one blond (I was blond as a child).

    • FLORC says:

Since you picked a favorite regarding looks I was thinking Charlotte was cuter.
And she may be blonde with sun exposure, but I doubt she’ll be a true blonde. Maybe more of a light brown.

George at 6 months had photos like this. Dynamic personas are hard to judge in prepicked photos for us. She appears all types of adorable.

    • Katydid20 says:

Haha my thoughts too. She’s a cute baby and all, but George is just so so so much cuter IMO……maybe the fact that I know he wouldn’t hesitate to smack me in the head if he wanted to? 😉

    • Liberty says:

Well, George ran the farm as he pleased for a couple of years with somewhat feeble slacker parents…so he is one way and heartily so. He was Carole’s dream realized in human form: history, guaranteed.

This little girl is born “second” in many ways, and has to contend with an unfettered “my way!” big brother etc. So her relative nature may be squelched at the moment, which is why she still isn’t giving dynamic public speeches or kicking Barbies down the palace steps for her cause, etc. at her advanced age.

Or maybe she’s already taken in an eyeful, and decided to bide her time.

      • Hazel says:

I love how your brain works, Liberty!

      • antipodean says:

She is a wee treasure, and I have to admit Katie Bucket and Bill have done good. I can’t wait until Charlotte is kicking Barbies down the palace steps either. She may come to rule them all in the end. It will be interesting to see. She could turn out to be the power behind the throne of her brother! I am not a broody type, but those little cheeks are just begging to be chucked, my fingers are itching.

    • Nancy says:

I agree Cupcake, baby George is a limited one time edition. He is funny and has a lot of personality for a baby. Of course he does, he’s going to be King! Little sister looks a lot like him, and seems to be feisty as well. Two feisty kids from parents who seem so serene…..key word being “seem.” Good job Royals, cute heirs.

  23. funcakes says:

Love her hair color. Simply beautiful.

  24. The Original Mia says:

So nice to see Charlotte. Guess it’ll be another 6 months until we see her again. She’s cute. That’s about all I’ve got.

    • FLORC says:

Another 6 months or to bury a lead

      • bluhare says:

Oooh, FLORC. So what’s this burying? I am surprised they released shots of just her especially so close to Christmas. I was expecting a joint photo at Christmas. But maybe it is nice to give the little tyke some exposure on her own so she’s not just George’s appendage.

      • notasugarhere says:

Burying multiple Mustique visits this year, earlier this summer and around now? It also takes PR away from the big Sentebale events and SA tour.

Maybe this is instead of a family portrait on a Christmas card? iirc, they haven’t done one of those, and haven’t sent out Christmas cards that have made it to public viewing.

      • The Original Mia says:

Tanna basically came out and said they were released because Harry is on an official trip to Africa in support of his charities. Yesterday, Harry gave a heartfelt, emotional speech about the loss of his mother and how when he first went to Sentabale and met the orphaned children he realized they were in the same positions. Now, I’m not saying these were released to take the attention off of Harry, but the coincidence is interesting.

      • COSquared says:

#pissedoffcorrs: What did they do to piss him(Tanna) off. I do also sideeye the timing:H’s tour over here in SA(which is receiving a lot of coverage).

      • Liberty says:

I’m with FLORC. Probably taking a secret vacation, and so the Office timed the drops of weeks-old baby pictures and the Duchess’s words of support for people raising funds for St. Mary’s hospital, all to appear active, not on vacay. While Harry is bringing such nice attention to Sentebale this past week and the new children’s center they opened. Again, go Harry. He is just….he has it, think what he could do w the role.

PS – I saw the photos in the DM of Joss Stone interacting with the kids at the center opening, and just sighed. Oh Harry, someone like HER who ok is a celeb ,but seems real, genuine? I don’t know.

PPS – darling cute baby. IMO she favors George Middleton again, or even Pippa a bit.

      • MinnFinn says:

Mia – Interesting comment from Tanna. Daily Mail quote from BP is that W&K had never planned on making these photos public. So what changed their minds and why now? Also interesting that DM says they are a reward from WK for giving their kids privacy.

      • bluhare says:

If I were a betting person, I’d say they’re on holiday.

      • The Original Mia says:

@MinnFinn, if they weren’t going to make them public, then why did they? Obvious PR is obvious. No one forced them to do this. They serve a purpose that only W&K know. I’d say they are on vacation and they don’t want anyone to look too carefully for them.

      • noway says:

I guess I am just too American, but why do people care so much about what they are up to and compare their appropriate engagement calendars. To be King you are just born into it. If I recall even Diana said that Harry seemed to have a better personality than William for King, and she worried about William with it. It doesn’t surprise me that Harry seems more comfortable and does more monarchy duties and trips than William, even their mother saw that an early age. The position is largely ceremonial now, and I just couldn’t see abdicating it. Then the press would be why is he abidicating? Imagine Prince Edward and Wallis Simpson in the social media age what a fun gossip time that would be.

Plus I think the main function of the monarchy now seems to be tourism, and Kate and William play on that story. The beautiful kids help too. My understanding as far as tourism the Windsor’s are the most popular and lucrative of all. Now I know some say they should get rid of the monarchy, and maybe Prince’s Charles idea to limit the family to a smaller number makes sense, but I think it is part of Britain’s history. Also the limiting would be done by birth order so not sure everyone would be happy with the ones eliminated. Keep in mind, most would still be incredibly wealthy, if they have managed their money correctly. They would probably still be “celebrities.” if they wanted that attention. I mean look at the US, anybody born in a famous family if they want the attention don’t seem to have trouble attracting it for a while at least.

      • COSquared says:

@noway:There is no greater lie than the “they boost tourism” lie. And, there is more to being a Monarch than being ‘ceremonial’.

      • bluhare says:

noway, I disagree that Kate and William play on the tourism angle. Tourism requires accessibility. They don’t want that; hence the reindeer games they play. These photos were taken almost a month ago and held until now. Why? Why not release them when they realized they turned out well and really liked them? Why hold them for at least two weeks?

On a personal level, who really cares. But one would think they would be thinking of building their Kingly Brand, which they don’t really seem to give a toss about. Why don’t they release carefully selected photos more often? They seem to treat it like we should be grateful for crumbs from their table. And, yes, they’re starting to lose this monarchist.

      • notasugarhere says:

noway, W&K should care what people think. As someone on here said, the throne has gone sideways more often than in a straight line. If the people, government, or royals want William and his line out, they’ll get it done.

      • Tina says:

noway, that ceremonial stuff IS work. In the US, most of it is done by the VP and First Lady, in places like Germany and Ireland by the president, and in Canada/Australia/NZ by the Governor-General.

The difference here is that those people get to retire – the Queen doesn’t. People respect the Queen because she’s been doing a lot of that work for a very long time. Charles has also stepped up to the plate and is doing a lot of work. William and Kate (but especially William) need to do more of it now so that they are capable of doing it properly when they have to (when the Queen dies).

    • Nic919 says:

Charlotte is cute, but it is weird to only release photos after 6 months and really nothing before. My friend has a six month old too and while she hasn’t been super crazy on social media, she still posted pics about once a month or so, if or there was an exceedingly cute moment. If they are pretending to be normal like the rest of us, then they should do that instead of saving the release for an optimal PR moment.

I guess I just don’t buy what these two are selling.

      • CrystalBall says:

        + 1000

I also don’t buy what they are selling.

      • Christin says:

And the photos were taken nearly a month ago. We live in an age of instant photography and transmission capabilities, so that seems a bit odd to wait weeks before posting. I personally don’t understand what is wrong with releasing a photo every month or two.

      • India Andrews says:

I womder. When William throws a fit, does he ever threaten to have a book like Morton’s written if the family doesn’t back down to him?

    • AmandaPanda says:

I don’t know why they released them, but they’re not on holiday – I saw Kate in a department store in London on Friday! Snapping up Black Friday bargains I guess 🙂

  25. tracking says:

    Lovely child.

  26. kri says:

She’s adorable. I love her face in that pic with the stuffed toy. Maybe it reminds her of Daddy. JK!!!!

  27. Talie says:

I think both kids favor Kate and her side, but in different ways.

More importantly though, I really want to see pics of the interiors of this house!

  28. Victoria says:

I’m getting railed by some sugar on DM maybe I’m not dealing with em great re: Kate

    pls help

  29. pwal says:

Adorable baby. She really favors her big brother.

  30. Victoria says:

Tried to post on DM but probably won’t get my last word in

“Got anything negative to say about the royal family, even in jest, are accused of being vile, bitter, twisted, jealous, not knowing English. WOW glad I’m not in the old country! Sorry guys xo”

    My original comment was:

So this is what her royal Duchess Kate does all day is sketch and take pictures of her kids 😉

    Not a big deal right?

Some chick decided to weigh in about what Bambi’s mother said then some Royalist nasty chick calling me bitter and twisted. So weird. I think I’m quitting DM

    • wolfie says:

What’s bitter and twisted is that William released these photo’s while Harry is making headlines. I almost wept seeing Harry play with the children, reminiscent of Diana. I am beginning to think that William is insufferable.

Victoria, Don’t quit the DM – nasty posters are gone in a day, you are better than that, and they need your input.

    • bluhare says:

To be honest, I don’t know why you bothered to start with. It’s like a primary school playground at recess over there.

      • maggie says:

Well its like the Middle East on here at times! Lol

      • Christin says:

Sometimes it’s not much better here. Actually, threads about these two are usually more respectful to posters than most, so there is that.

    • Nikki says:

My daughter had to tell me what DM meant. While I think they sound crazy, I am always startled on how much negativism anything she does evokes here. She’s a young mom who posted some cute pics of her daughter. Some people are complaining it’s high time and she’s been oddly private, most people say it’s a smokescreen, and you say she sketches and takes pics all day! I think they are really cute pics, the baby’s adorable, and I’m glad to start my day w/a baby’s smile. I LOVE Celebitchy even though I’m a Kate defender! Love to read GNAT, Florc, Bluhare, Sixer, etc despite our Kate differences 😉

      • bluhare says:

Thank you Nikki. I appreciate that! 🙂

      • Pondering thoughts says:

I think “smokescreen” is a good description for the publication of these baby pictures. I will likely work because many people do refrain from attacking parents of little children.

It is really sad that the Dolittle’s wheel out their kids for pr and to cover in advance that next Mystique trip (the latter is my guess).

    • antipodean says:

Victoria, sorry to hear that the Daily Fail commenters were so nasty to you. Please do not take one wit of notice of them. Most of them are lurking in their dirty singlets in their grubby basement flats in Torquay, and their only purpose in life is to pour uninformed vitriol on others. That is why I never read the comments on that site, and come to Celebitchy instead, where the comments are almost always kind, witty and often hilarious. The Fail is a whole other beast, not to be taken seriously. And for the record your comment was perfectly valid, and acceptable.

      • Victoria says:

        Funny you mention Torquay, Devon

I have been there, too funny. Gorgeous, absolutely stunning. I appreciate your comment thank you.

Many ppl don’t comment but read the blog. I have social anxiety but I try. I do have a bf and work, pets fyi

Lots of love to the regulars, UK comments from LAK, Sixer, bluhare, Wolfie to name a few. Thousands of ppl read your opinions, words methinks. Great.

Notasugar and florc, you go girls! Standing up.

Keep on truckin everyone and happy holidays xo

        V

      • Victoria says:

Good names all taken deserves an honorable mention for sure *here here

  31. Lilacflowers says:

    She’s a pretty baby.

  32. suze says:

Other than her eyebrows, I see only her father in her.

Kate did well with these, good lighting and good composition.

  33. MrsBPitt says:

    She is adorable!!!!

  34. Citresse says:

Wow- a lot like Carole Middleton.

    • neutral says:

      My thoughts too.

    • Olenna says:

Ditto. She’s Baby Carole with big, pretty blue eyes.

      • Citresse says:

        Olenna
A bit early to tell for sure, but I think she’s got Diana’s eyes and it’s a such a lovely thought esp when you consider/believe the eyes are the mirror of the soul.

      • Olenna says:

@Citresse, the blue eyes do remind me of Diana now that you mention it. There’s been so much generational striving on her mother’s side that I hope she inherits Diana’s charm and generosity of spirit.

  35. mialouise says:

Monarchy is so creepy. She’s a beautiful baby, but the fact that she is in display because of “bloodlines” is too weird. I will never get it.

    • Citresse says:

I don’t find it “creepy”. It’s history and history is infinitely interesting.

    • Victoria says:

      +1,000,000

Seriously. Aren’t we over the crap bloodlines notions, king and queens are gods, ordained by god stuff yet?

  36. maggie says:

She’s a beauty just like her mom.

  37. wolfie says:

I think that George looks like Mike Middleton, and a Spencer. Charlotte looks like Elizabeth around the eyes, and then Pippa (who looks mostly like her ma).

She is cute, but then all babies are completely adorable.

    • Victoria says:

Can’t hate much on a baby, that much is true. Innocent.

They are indeed cute babies, yes. Their parents behaviour, I will bed to differ.

      • Citresse says:

We’ll see. Such as I wrote very recently; if CB contributors are still bitching a year from now (the deadline) re- sp W&K: endless vacays, $$$$$ refurbs (needless), 50 engagements between the pair of them (laziness) and all the rest of it, then yeah.

  38. lisa says:

did we not get to say goodbye to bedhead?

  39. Andi says:

Bravo, Catherine – for dispelling the ludicrous myth that the princess was forbidden to wear dresses until she was at least 1yr. Please continue to prove that there are no archaic hard and fast rules in play regarding how you are raising your children!

  40. jess22 says:

She looks allot like the queen. Her brother is cuter and has a big personality for a little guy ,-she’s a cute kid too.

  41. mayamae says:

I did a quick google of Charles Spencer’s children to see any similarity to Charlotte. Mostly found Barbie doll looking girls. One girl looked like a Chelsea Davy ringer. Another is fond of hats that rival Beatrice’s famous toilet bowl inspired confection.

    • antipodean says:

Apparently Lady Kitty is making a bid for Lad Mag fame, and has been photographed recently with her ample pulchritude falling out of a very tiny bikini. Very aristocratic! Mind you it’s not as if Champagne Charlie hasn’t given her a great example to follow.

      • kell says:

The DM covered her quite a bit and showed photos from her Instagram as well as covert pap photos. Suffice it to say the instagram ones were significantly more flattering lol – e.g. waist up photos in the water v.s. full body rear view in bikini

      • Christin says:

Champagne Charlie – LOL. When I saw those photos and read how he was supposedly fuming, I thought “apple and tree”.

  42. TessD says:

She’s a Middleton through and through.

  43. m says:

Looks like Kate was inspired by Princess Leonore of Swedens 1st birthday portraits. The setting and pose she used are identical.

  44. iheartgossip says:

So adorable! She looks like she may be a ginge! Nod to her uncle. Blessings on you & your family.

  45. serena says:

    She’s so cute!!

  46. Amelie says:

Cute baby! I love how she is freaking out over the stuffed animal like it is the best thing ever. Her eyes may change color over time or they might not. Mine did over the course of a year and eventually became gray. I think she looks more like Kate right now but as she gets older she may favor the Windsor genes. We’ll have to see.

  47. vava says:

Cute little baby. I’d rather look at her than her parents at this point.

    • vava says:

Thank goodness they don’t put those stupid bow head bands on this child, like some fashion bloggers I follow. (UGH). Really at this age, Charlotte only looks like a girl because of the clothing they’ve dressed her in.

      • FLORC says:

        I despise those head bands.
And while I find most babies to look like boys and girls without clothing to help define Charlotte appears more like a girl by features. Too adorable.

  48. zoem says:

The only thing of Kate’s I see on her is the darker hair. Everything else is William. Have you seen his baby photos? She looks identical, just darker hair.

    • FLORC says:

photo links didn’t pass, but William looked completely different. His face was longer and maintained many features he has currently. Charlotte’s face and features hold very little William overall. Much greater Midd influence. Baby to baby C and W they are not close.

  49. Die Zicke says:

She is seriously so cute. I actually like the picture Kate took of her better than the professional picture Testino took.

  50. Cee says:

I find she looks like William (especially the eyes and nose) with her mum’s hair colour, shape of head and lips.
Regardless, she seems to be a happy child!

  51. Mylene - Montreal says:

on the first picture she look like the queen Elisabeth

  52. hogtowngooner says:

Maybe I’m a little crusty today, but I’m thinking the Mustique vacation is coming soon…

  53. Pondering thoughts says:

So as the Dolittle’s ratings are down they wheel out the kids?
And the pictures look like the light came from the side which isn’t good because it creates shadows in the wrong places (right part of the sofa, shadows behind child, shadow of teddy on child). You get better pictures if the light comes in from behind the photographer. Also: picture is over-lighted. Does Kate not know that? Oh Waity, apparently her History of Art degree was some kind of MRS degree instead of that MA it should be …

And soon they go to Mystique …

  54. Bread and Circuses says:

    She has the queen’s eyes!

I’m seriously seeing grandma rather than mom or dad in little Charlotte’s face.

  55. benchwarmer says:

Adorable baby, love the picture of her laughing. She looks like she has a fun personality. As for the chair lol, I like the gingham fabric and appreciate the style but it’s not my personal style, more my mom’s, it’s a little too fancy for me. I’m less country french and just ‘country’. I like gingham and plaid but in more of a Roseanne (80’s tv show) decor lol.
