No way. Kim’s pics are photoshopped? Never. Not her.

    • SusanneToo says:

      Yes, I’m having the vapors.

      • AtlLady says:

Perfect word for something associated with Kim – vapors. As a bit of a history lesson, when a woman would claim a fit of the vapors, it was not because she was swooning or feeling faint. Instead, she would excuse herself to loosen her too tight corset and pass some gas “vapors”. Hasn’t Kim said that she has gas issues?

  2. BreeInSEA says:

I love his shirt! Did Lucy ever confirm if this was a surrogate situation or adoption? Just curious. I’m happy for her. 🙂

  3. word says:

About the mass shootings…they don’t even get the reaction they used to get. The one that happened yesterday in California…we will forget about it in a few days. We’ve come to the point that these shootings are a part of life and almost expected. How sad. I truly feel sorry for the victims. I just don’t get it.

    • SusanneToo says:

I hope and wish the media will tell us about the victims, about their lives, about what was lost when their lives were snuffed out. Right now it’s just 14 dead, 17 wounded, and that doesn’t really express the horror of what happened.

      • me says:

Exactly. Instead the shooters faces are everywhere. So people can see what the “enemy” looks like. Now some innocent “brown” guy or girl will get shot down while pumping gas because someone thought he looked like the “enemy”. F*cking stupid. We’ve had a number of Muslim women attacked her right after the Paris shootings. What is wrong with people?

Mind you, I don’t really think the shootings yesterday were a “terrorist” attack. I think it involved some mentally disturbed people who wanted retaliation for something that happened in the work place. People are saying it must have been terrorist related because of the background of the shooters and because of the amount of ammunition they had. Well the kids who shot up Columbine had a lot of ammunition as well. You can buy that stuff pretty much anywhere in America. I guess we need more info from this story. But still very sad for the victims.

      • Nancy says:

I remember when the young newscaster was shot and killed last summer, as well as others in the crowd. Her father was everywhere saying this was it, he would make a difference, it was going to stop. I can’t even remember her name. There really is no answer.

      • me says:

        @ Nancy

I totally forgot about that shooting. My God how horrible of me. Yeah, one person is not going to change anything. Sorry but it’s true. Also, change takes time…a lot of time. We might not see it in this generation…but maybe the next?

      • Nancy says:

@ me……Alison Parker was her name. There are too many names to remember and try to respect somehow. You’re right, hopefully somewhere in the future lies the answer to all this hate.

      • FLORC says:

John Oliver in ann episode spoke of the news coverage on a multiple death accident and rightly called we feel bad, but after a few moments move on. Until we hear they were a person with a life. That makes it all stick a big longer. Long enough for more to be done. And long enough to get angry about more lives needlessly lost.

If curious the episode was about an oil related explosion in a Dakota and how the companies deny fault or responsibility.

In truth if the families approve we should hear about these people because they were people who had people who loed them. This makes me mad.

    • Who ARE these people? says:

It’s disturbing. When people get desensitized to violence, it only opens the door to more. When people live in fear, they’re very easy to manipulate. When people see that all you have to do when you’re angry is take out a gun, there’s no more room for dialogue and respect.

If all those little children dying in Connecticut didn’t do it, this certainly won’t. It appears that nobody wants to take responsibility for the gun problem. The country’s in denial.

      • anne_000 says:

        + 1 gazillion. Spot on.

      • Tiffany :) says:

        I agree, Who ARE.

      • SnarkySnarkers says:

I’m not sure what needs to be done but how do you explain the mass shootings in Paris and other places where guns are very, very tough to own. Crazy people and criminals won’t let things being illegal stop them. California is a state with some of the strictest gun laws in the US. I honestly think this is more of a mental health crisis than a gun control crisis. I just read the mother of one of the shooters saying her husband (the shooters father) was abusive and mentally ill. Theres no easy answers for this and its a horrible tragedy but I just wanted to add some perspective.

      • Tiffany :) says:

Snarky, the Paris attacks are different than what we are experiencing here in the US.

In the US, we have had more mass shootings in 2015 than we have had days of the year! Let me write that again, in 2015, the US had more than one mass shooting per day. There was more than one mass shooting yesterday, in fact!

      • Louisa says:

@Snarky, there are people with mental illnesses in the UK, in Iceland, in Australia… in every other country in the Western world, but they don’t have this level of gun violence. I am so sick of hearing this argument. It’s a gun problem.

      • FLORC says:

The Newtown Deaths were the CT ones. And I live nearish. We still have in the news the names of the victims and what is being done in their honor. And when 1 had a birthday some hold memorials.
It’s not done on a large scale, but it still happens.
And their stories are not forgotten. But the world as a whole moves on and might forget. There’s so much death from violence we can’t have a quick rundown every night on the news. They couldn’t fit it all in!

As long as there’s some continued awareness and lessons are learned rather than passing blame.

    • me says:

Well bombing the sh*t of of Syria and killing innocent people is not the answer. This will only cause more terrorist attacks. I don’t understand how the world works. “Oh you killed our people so we are going to go kill yours and then you are going to kill ours and then we are going to kill yours…and on and on”. WTF? How will this solve anything? What did American invading Iraq and Afghanistan really do other than kill innocent people and children and create more hate for the West?

      • Tiffany :) says:

I don’t see anyone here tying the Syrian issue to the gun problems in the US.

Syria is a very complex problem. On one side you have Shiite Assad bombing his own people and hospitals, on the other side you have ISIS (Sunni). There is no “good side” to align ourselves with here.

      • me says:

I wasn’t trying to tie the two together. They are separate issues. I know there is no “good side”. However, bombing in “retaliation” is not the answer. That was my point. I was pretty much just continuing what I said up thread that’s all. I was not replying to any one in particular.

    • Lilacflowers says:

This one has caused people to forget the one that happened Friday.

As for the Arsenal, other shooters, like Adam Lanza and the guy who shot up the California movie theater had similar LEGALLY-PURCHASED weaponry.

I am praying that this Congress that supposedly cares so much about protecting life finally realize that: my inalienable right to life supersedes the right of any previously “legally responsible, law-abiding” gun owner to amass a personal Arsenal and use it to launch assaults on innocent people just because he or she is annoyed about something; that this same Congress actually reads the Constitution it has sworn to uphold and realize that it contains provisions to amend it and the second amendment contains the phrase “well-regulated;” and that those in this Congress who protest that it isn’t a gun problem but a mental health one realize that their complete voting record illustrates what they have done as far as enduring access to adequate necessary mental health services and funding for such services and those voting records are visible online through the Library of Congress website.

      • word says:

Can they explain how mentally ill people are getting their hands on guns? Also, you CAN develop a mental illness at any time in your life. This means someone may be deemed mentally fit to own many fire arms, but then down the road develops a mental illness and cracks and goes on shooting sprees. What about that? Why do people feel they need to have fire arms in the first place?

      • SusanneToo says:

I’m certain this Congress only cares about protecting life in the womb. Once it’s on the outside, the hell with it.

      • Tiffany :) says:

“the second amendment contains the phrase “well-regulated;”

” those in this Congress who protest that it isn’t a gun problem but a mental health one … their complete voting record illustrates what they have done”

Well said! The hypocrisy on the “mental health” issue, with the politicians that use that as a defense against stronger gun control also being the ones that prevent access and funding for mental health services, is almost too much to bear.

      • Kitten says:

I love this comment so much.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Senators Cruz and Graham and Rubio have all made the “mental health” argument. The Senate is once again voting on a repeal of the ACA, which contains mental health parity protections for all and expands access to mental health services for millions. Why do I suspect they will all vote against preserving those mental health protections if they bother to show up for work?

      • FLORC says:

Not only do I love your name, but am now a fan.
        Perfect comment.

    • Jess says:

I recently started a new job and in orientation we had to watch a video of what to do if someone comes in the building and starts shooting. The video was graffic and terrifying. I was watching an episode of family guy recently and they were at the movies and a little video was playing with a talking popcorn and a gun talking about how going to the movies used to be fun. It’s sad that this is what the world has come to.

    • ShinyGrenade says:

Thats quite fascinating. In Canada, we are approaching “Polytechnic Day’, on December 6, 1989 a sicko got into a university, shot 28 people, killing 14 women, before committing suicide. He began his attack by entering a classroom at the university, where he separated the male and female students. After claiming that he was “fighting feminism” and calling the women “a bunch of feminists,” he shot all nine women in the room, killing six. He then moved through corridors, the cafeteria, and another classroom, specifically targeting women to shoot. Overall, he killed fourteen women and injured ten other women and four men in just under 20 minutes before turning the gun on himself.

The tragedy led to more stringent gun control laws in Canada. Tragedies do happen here too, but those events are still pretty rare

I was very young when this happen, but still remember, as my granny died on the 7th of December that same year. And at the funeral house, one of the victims of Polytechnic was exposed in the next room, in her ski suit. It was turquoise and purple.

So… Gun Controls. Congress, what are you waiting for?

    • Dinah says:

I’m with you, word. Civilization is being destroyed right before our eyes and people believe themselves helpless to do anything about it.

  4. SusanneToo says:

Naomie is gorgeous and such a good actress. I want to see more of her.

  5. antipodean says:

Lucy Liu’s little guy is adorable, they are blessed to have each other. I am a massive fan of Elementary, and Lucy more than holds her own against the inimitable Jonny Lee Miller, they are an inspired pairing that just somehow shine together. And of course, need I mention Aidan Quinn? Swoon.

    • TQB says:

I know. I got off this show somehow and really need to get back on. The whole cast is terrific. I love her media underexposure. She just quietly goes about her business and does great work. And that kid is too cute dangit.

  6. Tiffany :) says:

I was disappointed the Daily Show was going to have Chris Brown on. Glad they didn’t end up having him as a guest, but it shouldn’t have even been a consideration.

The DS should have ended when Stewart left. When they couldn’t get any of their top 5 or 10 choices to take the hosting position, that should have been a wake up call to just end the show.

    • michkabibbles says:

I read that Noah wanted to have Brown on because Noah himself and his mother were domestic abuse survivors, and Noah wanted to try to get Brown to open up about his past. I don’t know how accurate that is, but it’s what I read.

      • Kitten says:

Oh wow. NOW I might actually watch.

      • FLORC says:

Brown and Rihanna have both spoken at length about domestic violence in their upbringing and witnessing it with their parents.
Brown always looped it to justification of actions or accepted some fault, but once off camera ignored it entirely.

Noah has also spoken of this and while a lot tougher to find now since his start on TDS he made jokes of domestic violence. I guess when it all became forgiven the internet forgave and forgot too.

I might be jaded, but it felt like a ratings ploy and no way would Brown have agreeded to an open and honest sit down. I’ll bet money most was preapproved and prearranged answers. So no real break through.

    • Kitten says:

One nice thing: Chris Brown announced on social media that he’s donating $1 from each copy of his new album to a children’s charity. Sure it’s all for PR, but it’s still a decent gesture from a dude who overall sucks.

  7. Lou says:

Lucy Liu is such an underrated beauty. Her bone structure is insane and i love her freckles. Her baby is a cutie!

  8. Snowflake says:

I love Lucy Liu. She is so beautiful and I am so jealous of her. Working with national geographic , she’s gotten to see so much. She has prob Botox and fillers but it is good work. You can look good without overdoing it

  9. Sochan says:

Lucy is one of the most beautiful women in H’wood. She looks amazing and natural.

  10. InvaderTak says:

Now I’m craving dim sum. Sigh. Six more hours then I m going out for food. I will eat by myself in a restaurant if I have to!

    • me says:

Nothing wrong with eating by yourself. I enjoy it !

    • tealily says:

I flipping love eating in restaurants by myself.

    • Lilacflowers says:

I absolutely love eating by myself in restaurants and I find that I often get better service when alone

    • d says:

I used to be worried about eating by myself but once I was so hungry and needed something quick, so I got some pho, and the rest is history. I wouldn’t go to a French or Italian or whatever place by myself, but Vietnamese places, some sushi places, Chinese, food courts, some burger places, some cafes, etc., etc., those are all good for me, and preferable anyway. I am generally just too darn hungry to care much and then I’m just enjoying the food so much I still don’t care! And alone time is good time. Sometimes being around people all the time is annoying and I just want to sit and eat and enjoy good food quietly by myself. But then, I’m an introvert, so that might have something to do with it. But let your freak flag fly!
Lucy is so gorgeous and that baby is adorable beyond belief. I can’t believe Lucy; saw her recently in an old X Files episode; she’s come so far and done so well. She doesn’t get enough credit.

      • me says:

Now a days with everyone on their phones, no one will even notice or care that you are eating alone (if that’s an issue). Eating alone is amazing. I love every aspect of it. You get to really enjoy the food, sit by a window and watch the scenery or whatever. I used to enjoy eating alone in my car as well.

    • Lady D says:

Yes to all of you. Question: Do you think it is rude to read, whether it be your phone, newspaper or book, while dining out alone?

      • tealily says:

Personally, I do not think it’s rude. I usually read a book while I wait for my food. But I always wonder if others do think it is rude. I’m sure it depends on the environment. If I’m going somewhere alone, I usually hit up somewhere casual and don’t worry about it too much.

      • Lilacflowers says:

Not rude at all. You’re not avoiding anyone else’s dinner table conversation. Just so long as you give your server your full attention

      • me says:

Why would it be rude? You are dining alone. It’s not like you’re with someone and ignoring them.

      • Who ARE these people? says:

That’s funny, ‘me.’ My response was also, “Why would it be rude?” It would only be rude if you’re dining with someone who wants to talk. Reading while dining alone is a great pleasure !

  11. Dawn says:

Goodness gracious me! That is one adorable baby! Happy birthday to Lucy, I am a fan!

  12. tealily says:

Slightly off topic, but I think my comment was eaten by the spam filter yesterday… Can you cover the engagement between Jordan Peele and Chelsea Peretti?? I’m so excited to hear they’re engaged. I didn’t even know they were a couple and it’s kind of perfect.

  13. Nancy says:

Is that her biological child? My goodness, if so, she certainly had him late in life. Good for her. He’s cute!

  14. Dinah says:

Wacky wonderfulness that Lucy and I share our birthday. Weird as it is, someone told me years ago December 3rd women usually age well. I believe we have Katarina Witt and Daryl Hannah. Not a bad looking apple in that fruitful birthday box trio. Much joy to Lucy and her boy.

  15. Sarah01 says:

Wowza she is ageing beautifully, she looks healthy and I think her bone structure is a huge part of why she looks a lot younger. I had very angular features when I was in my tweens and it looked kind of harsh, but I was told by one of my teachers ( was bullied because of my looks) that I will love my high cheekbones, defined jaw and almond eyes when I age. Don’t like to compliment myself but I’ve been told many times that I look younger than my age. Recently on a trip to Washington the flight attendant was asking what my skin care regime is because she guessed that I was 13 years younger than my age. I guess it’s good payback from my tween awkward years. Bone structure can do wonders!

  16. Tiffany says:

Is there seriously not going to be a discussion as to why Chadwick Boseman is with his helmet on the EW cover. No….no.

  17. Veronica says:

The shame of Kim’s photoshopping is that SHE DOESN’T NEED IT. She looks good in the unaltered picture. It just goes to show you how insane the body standards projected to women really are. No wonder eating disorders are on the rise.

  18. Chelly says:

Ifk if i would have a kid at almost 50. Is that really fair to the child?? Maybe its just me but doesnt seem fair

  19. Heather says:

Lucy’s baby is adorable and I love the onesie! My Lord, does Lucy ever age? She is stunning! I cannot believe she is almost 50.
