Deflated by South Park parody, Kanye West works on his ego

Who knew that all it would take to bring egomaniacal rapper Kanye West back down to earth was a South Park episode dedicated to his douchebaggery? After the episode broadcast on Comedy Central, Mr. Narcissist himself blogged about it, and said that he plans on “working on” his ego. I don’t know what that means. But I hope it means that he’s not going to continue with his delusional belief that he’s the greatest entertainer of his generation.

SOUTH PARK MURDERED ME LAST NIGHT AND IT’S PRETTY FUNNY. IT HURTS MY FEELINGS BUT WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM SOUTH PARK! I ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MY EGO THOUGH. HAVING THE CRAZY EGO IS PLAYED OUT AT THIS POINT IN MY LIFE AND CAREER. I USE TO USE IT TO BUILD UP MY ESTEEM WHEN NOBODY BELIEVED IN ME. NOW THAT PEOPLE DO BELIEVE AND SUPPORT MY MUSIC AND PRODUCTS THE BEST RESPONSE IS THANK YOU INSTEAD OF “I TOLD YOU SO!!!” IT’S COOL TO TALK SHIT WHEN YOU’RE RAPPING BUT NOT IN REAL LIFE. WHEN YOU MEET LITTLE WAYNE IN PERSON HE’S THE NICEST GUY FOR EXAMPLE. I JUST WANNA BE A DOPER PERSON WHICH STARTS WITH ME NOT ALWAYS TELLING PEOPLE HOW DOPE I THINK I AM. I NEED TO JUST GET PAST MYSELF. DROP THE BRAVADO AND JUST MAKE DOPE PRODUCT. EVERYTHING IS NOT THAT SERIOUS. AS LONG AS PEOPLE THINK I ACT LIKE A BITCH THIS TYPE OF SHIT WILL HAPPEN TO ME. I GOT A LONG ROAD AHEAD OF ME TO MAKE PEOPLE BELIEVE I’M NOT ACTUALLY A HUGE DOUCHE BUT I’M UP FOR THE CHALLENGE. I’M SURE THE WRITERS AT SOUTH PARK ARE REALLY NICE PEOPLE IN REAL LIFE. THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO DRAW MY CREW. THAT WAS PRETTY FUNNY ALSO!! I’M SURE THERE’S GRAMMATICAL ERRORS IN THIS… THAT’S HOW YOU KNOW IT’S ME!

Well, there you have it. Does this mean we won’t see anymore post-awards show meltdowns when Kanye doesn’t win? Because I’ll kind of miss making fun of those. I have to admit, the South Park episode really nailed him. They sure do know how to bust on famous people – has anyone seen the Jonas Brothers’ episode? Classic.

You can see the full South Park episode here. and most of it is above.

    I love Southpark!

Not enough to spell the name right, though, I guess. SO, make that, South Park, with a space. Thanks! T.G.I.F.!

    he is a gayfish

LOL, I so…. so… sooooo…. was about to rip on you for being a spelling dictator towards the first commenter… like I actually had the post written out and was about to hit submit comment, then I realized you were the same person… I usually don’t pull the whole spelling Nazi card either! I feel foolish, but figured I’d share the amusing almost misstep with you, as I was initially trying to defend you for pointing out something so obviously accidental. It’s almost ironic that it happened in a post regarding Kanye West and his grossly over inflated ego on top of it all. Good times!! Yes… T.G.I.F!!!

In more irony (while my initial comment is being moderated) I just realized I wrote I was trying to defend you for pointing out something so accidental… which makes no sense… I meant I was trying to defend you for making an accidental mistake…. I miss the edit feature! t.g.i.f indeed.

I am going to try to turn the edit feature back on again. It was said to be crashing the server during peak times, but the server guys weren’t sure if it was that or another plugin to WordPress that I’ve since disabled. I’m going to try it again and see though as you guys really miss it when commenting and I’m very sorry for that.

wow im impressed…see THAT is a real man. Alright, NOW i can share my love of kanye with the world because i dont really think he’s a douche anymore. yay :). kanye is awesome. and southpark is funny.

The key to his comments as far as I am concerned is that what is said in raps should not be applied to real life. VERY good point and words to live by

So, I’ve never heard of the slang term ‘dope’ before as being ‘good’ or ‘excellent’. Sometimes I feel like such a suburban mom…oh, wait…there’s a reason for that!!!

  10. Celebitchy says:

This is a test of the comment editing feature, which was recently turned back on.

I guess we will see if this is for real. He doesnt seem like the kind of guy to change because of what someone else says.

Great episode. I still prefer the Grand Hare episode from 2 years ago, but this was in my top 10

  13. Zoe (The Other One) says:

He’s a douche to the core and will be back to his usual form in no time.

  14. ChristinaT says:

i guess he feels no need to convince us of his powers of good grammar and accurate spelling. oh well…

am i supposed to really buy that kanye west had an epiphany because of a cartoon? either he’s really pathetic, or he thinks WE are.

  15. Annie says:

    I’m glad he’s learning.

Growth is essential to any life! And he, I say, if he’s starting to see the light, power to him. I’m all for betterment.

  16. Lina says:

I’m glad South Park “murdered” him. Wow, I didn’t know they did an episode on the Jonas Bros. Now I have to go look for it online

  17. jennifer says:

The thing about South Park is when they rip someone a new one (Lopez, Paris, Cruise, etc etc etc) they’re always RIGHT ON THE MARK. They get all their material from the words/actions of the person they’re mocking (and then obviously blow it out of proportion for laughs) but it’s still totally on the mark; they TOTALLY call the person on his/her bullshit. I guess that’s why even Kanye is all “Well, yeah, you got me…” LOL

P.S. I have the same bday as Matt Stone. Totally not relevant whatsoever and no reason to mention it, but I’m a huge nerd so it makes me happy. LOL

I agree, 100%. An inflated ego is a requirement for anyone to become an actor/musician/entertainer. Looking at yourself and admitting your faults is one of the hardest things ANYONE can do. His being able to do this garners respect from me.

i cant believe Kayne west got mad just because they were making fun of him. they do that to everybody and half the peeple they make fun of dont get mad. they only make fun of kayne west just because he is that stupid and he will probably believe things like that. when they make fun of people that much on the show it means the dont like them so they dont like kayne west they despise him they hate his music thats y they were making fun of kayne west saying im the genious voice of the generation. cause thats wat kayne thinks too he really thinks he iss. but i really do like south park and i dont like kayne west either.
