As you can see in this photo, Mel Gibson is still with his much-younger girlfriend, Rosalind Ross. Rosalind, 24, and Mel, 60, started dating in early 2015. By the summer of 2015, they were traveling together and spending all of their time together. He filmed a movie in Australia for months, and she was by his side. When he was invited to present at the Golden Globes, she was at his side too. They didn’t walk the red carpet, but they were spotted after the Globes, heading to some afterparties (which is where the above photo was taken). As it turns out, not walking the carpet together might have been Rosalind’s call. Because why would you want photos of yourself standing next to anti-Semitic beef jerky on the internet for all of eternity? No, as it turns out, Rosalind doesn’t care for all of the “negative attention” that comes with dating Mad Mel. Poor sausage.
Rosalind Ross, the 24-year-old girlfriend of Mel Gibson, finds the attention that comes with dating the Australian actor ‘unpleasant’. The former vaulting champ was first spotted with Gibson, 60, in July and has since become a regular fixture at his side – including at Sunday night’s Golden Globes.
However, close friend and former vaulting partner Devon Maitozo says the ‘private’ Ross has found dealing with the ‘negative attention’ that has accompanied her new relationship difficult and now just wants to ‘get on with her life’.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Online, Maitozo, 33, added: ‘There’s been a lot of very not very nice media that’s been written about her. Sifting through it has not been very pleasant at all. Sensationalizing her because of her relationships is not what she’s looking for. She would probably enjoy it if it was about her and her career instead of her being the girlfriend of a celebrity but it’s not and so she’d like to keep her life private. She’s just a young girl and wants to get on with her life without all the attention.’
Ross and Gibson are believed to have met last spring when she applied for a job at his production company Icon. According to Radar Online, love then blossomed during a visit to the 60-year-old’s 500-acre Costa Rica ranch.
‘They started their romantic getaway in Costa Rica, hiding out in Playa Barrigona, where he owns a 500-acre tropical sanctuary in the middle of the jungle, before heading to Panama. It’s clear the two of them are really happy together,’ a source told the website. Since then, the two have been virtually inseparable, with Ross joining the actor on vacation in Sydney last August and visiting him on the set of Hacksaw Ridge – a World War II drama – in November.
Eh. I do think she’s very young, too young to deal with the drama that comes with dating someone like Mel Gibson. Of course, women closer to his age don’t want to have anything to do with him. And of course Rosalind wouldn’t mind if the attention was on her career. She also wouldn’t mind if the attention about her relationship was positive, and she was being spun as some Amal Clooney-esque wonder woman who just happened to catch the eye of a famous actor. Instead, most people have written off Mel and Rosalind finds herself attached to a sinking ship. Girl, just don’t marry him. Or get pregnant. If you want to have fun and go on vacation with him, sure, get yours. But don’t make any radical life changes for him!

Maybe don’t get together with the person who’s full of vicious hatred and has shown it publicly lots of times. Maybe that’s the way to not experience some of that backlash.
It’s one thing to know it happened and another to live through the crazy and see it. I think you are right she is young, and Mel might be charming at some level, and still incredibly wealthy. She just doesn’t get the whole thing, and as opposed to other men always dating much younger women, with Mel it is true which age appropriate woman would date him?
@Size Does Matter: she isn’t too young to Google him. If I can do it, so can she and that’s not to say that everything on the Internet is true, but at least you have some kind of idea who you’re dealing with.
I’m sure she knows about Mel and his antics. Social media is probably a big part of her young life as well as Google. I bet she has parents, friends and relatives that know. But of course they probably don’t care much. All they see are dollar signs. I’m not saying that she’s only in it for the money but yeah she’s in it for the money.
But at what point did she learn the goods? Maybe by then she was already dickmatized. Of course I have no idea how they met. But I imagine her sitting at a bar and he’s like “hi, I’m Mel. I’m worth more than the GNP of several small countries and I have ten children,” and she’s like “are you the dad of that guy from Braveheart or something because you look sort of like him and we had to watch that movie in my European history class in ninth grade.”
There are many yucky things about Mel, but what gets me still is that early years Mel ( I am an aussie , so he was around here tele more) was just so so pretty. In Gallipoli his face was just so beautiful. And now…..not one bit of that left at all…. he really must have drunk himself into a stupor and then become a mega catholic conspiracy theorist dickhead along the way thats to his weirdo dad. It is just sad that’s all, he needs to pull his head in, make up for his many failings, and be celibate or be with a strong over 50 woman who has his measure and takes no BS.
All I can say is I don’t know what’s in her mind, that dating Mel is ok and people should be happy for her? Why do these girls do this to themselves. It’s sad.
They do it for money and fame, more than likely, unless they absolutely have fallen head over heels with the guy—-really? A 60-year old with a mouth like Mel’s? It’s the same age difference (35 years) as the one between Clint Eastwood and his last wife Dina who he had a child with. He was even 14 years older than her father and that’s the literal truth, not an exaggeration. Clint is more famous than Mel too so it puzzles me why the press and public let him slide while they scream at Mel, who’s just having a good time with this girl…not marrying and procreating with her! I think the press is more political than Hollywood itself, ostricizing some celebrities while giving others a free pass.
