Star Magazine is reporting that my favorite couple, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, split up back in November and that they’re “trying to keep things as amicable and normal as possible for the boys.” Naomi and Liev have been together for over ten years and have two sons together. If this report is true I’m really sad, but just read it and take it for what it’s worth:
A source tells Star that the King Kong actress, 47, quietly called it quits with the father of her children back in November after 10 years together. “Simply put, Naomi and Liev grew apart,” reveals the insider. “And they’ve decided it’s best for everyone to go their separate ways.” While reps for the pair deny the split, Naomi did not accompany the Ray Donovan star, 48, to the Golcen Globes on Jan. 10 – and in December, the couple put their Hamptons hideaway on the market. “They’re trying to keep things as amicable as possible for the boys,” says the source, noting how the proud parents, who just finished filming the boxing biopic The Bleeder, took Samuel, 7, and Alexander, 8, on a recent family vacation to Australia. “Their main focus right now is making sure their sons are okay.”

Ok so Star’s evidence seems to be that Naomi didn’t go to the Globes with Liev and that they’re selling their house in the Hamptons. Maybe they don’t want to go to the Hamptons anymore because they’re sick of the place. Maybe Naomi didn’t go to the Globes because she was busy working or had to stay home with the kids. Their reps denied it! Here’s my evidence that Naomi and Liev are still together – she Instagrams photos of him all the time. They just went on vacation to Sydney for the holidays and she posted a nice pic with him a week ago. They were papped out together looking cute and matchy in their winter jackets just last week. (Those photos are below.) They didn’t break up in November! Why do you have to be so specific with the lies, Star?

Weren’t there rumors that he cheated on her a few years ago? That said I don’t believe Star. She’s still posting pictures of them and I doubt that she would do that if they were separated. At least not that many.
There was much talk that he was seriously infatuated with Scarlett Johansson when they did a play together. He publicly gushed over her, and I think really raised more than a few eyebrows.
As the wife, I think this would be very, very hurtful, regardless whether he cheated or not.

i know there are rumours he cheated, but the scarlett thing, isn’t it part of promoting your film/play? you always hear actors gushing about each other, i doubt it’s always true.

There has been rumors about him for years — similar to Ben Affleck. I think they will eventually break up but I am not sure if they actually did right now.

Star broke the “news” this week that Olivia Wilde is pregnant again. That turned out to be total BS. So there is hope that this is BS too.
Sadly in other hand I read rumors on Blind Item sites, that Liev is often cheated and cheating on Naomi. If that’s true, that’s another sad example how most men cannot be faithful, even if the wife in question is a really awesome woman like Naomi Watts.
I’m rarely invested in celebrity couples but I hope it’s not true because I like them. And besides, those family photos are adorable.

Her Instagram isn’t showy at all and those are family pictures, but nothing super private like other stars.

Tabloids are full of crab and people need to start calling them out for some of the crap they put out. Naoimi & Liev just completed thier film together so just something else made up.
It is true that Star is not the most reliable source and the receipts are confutable to say the least. But I do remember a weird pap pic of Liev from last summer leaving a LA night club with a very vulgar dressed girl that was weird to put it mildly. He looked clearly intoxicated and was with another actor that I don’t remember his name but I remember thinking “the company you keep…”

She was at Cannes with the kids, for the festival. could mean nothing…or everything, as if he were my husband (or partner, they’re not married) I’d be furious.

@Lou maybe you’re right, is not her wardrobe per-se that is vulgar (maybe just tacky?) it’s her! Except for the cleavage the rest of the outfit is pretty much normal today. But somehow it’s her persona that makes the whole look, IMHO just vulgar and sluty. It doesn’t help the way she looks wasted/stoned/coked up.

I’ve lost faith in celebrity couples. None of them seem to last. So depressing 🙁 Always seems to happen when the woman begins to lose their youthful looks as well. Naomi is gorgeous to me of course, I do not think she’s any less beautiful due to a few extra years. However why is this always the case? I hope it has nothing to do with that typical mid life crisis thing men seem to do -especially in hollywood. Like Johnny depp and the thousands of others before him.
I used to live in the same nyc neighborhood as them and always delighted in how content and close and normal they were. Gorgeous yes, but so normal, piled on that bike or him walking the kids to school with the little one on his big, broad shoulders. I really really hope this is a load of crap.

He always looks quite stern and intimidating but seeing him with his family has made him much more attractive to me – he seems like a goofball. I hope they haven’t split…. has she always posted photos of him? If its a new thing it could sway me towards a split because it seems to be that when celebs are together they never post pics for privacy but once a they split it’s like a sudden burst of pics to portray a happy divorce. Even Gwyneth posts about her baby daddy – unheard of when they were actually married!!
I hope it’s not true!!! I love them together, Naomi is one of my favorites – so nice, down to earth and natural. I got a bit worried when I saw Liev alone at the GGs, they typically go together to those things. I remember reading that when they became a couple they bought two separate condos next to each other and joined them – if this is the case, physical separation into two adjacent flats will not be hard on the kids. But I still hope them splitting is a load of BS.

I don’t think “growing apart” should ever be grounds for a divorce. I could understand reasons like abuse, infidelity, or addictions – however, if two people find themselves “drifting apart” then they should either go for counseling or try to find a way to grow back together. Marriages are HARD work. I read a quote recently that I love. It says something like, “There’s no such thing as a perfect couple. A successful marriage is just two imperfect people who refuse to give up on each other.” Most Hollywood couples merely get bored and think they can find someone “better” than their current spouse. They never will. A long term marriage will ALWAYS have ups and downs, and if these people (not necessarily Liev and Naomi) want to bail out when the going gets tough, well… then they’re quitters. Divorces should be much harder to get, and then maybe some couples wouldn’t be in such a hurry to rush into marriages (Kartrashian, Cuoco, Cruise, etc.) [PS – sorry for getting on my soap box. I’ll step down now].

maybe that’s why they are NOT married? Specially in Hollywood, spending long times apart, kissing other people as part of the job, and also the way they condoned themselves to “feel” things and let themselves go with the excuse of the character development, ehem… well I think there was time ago an engagement announcement, a planned wedding and at some point one of them hit the brakes, backpedaled, and they went on just as partners. Anyway I think it takes an extraordinary love story to make it work in Hollywood. The Newman/Woodward kind of extraordinary.

there have been stories for years about how when he’s out of town filming, he goes to the bars and hooks up with randos. And I really like both of them as actors, as a couple, and their personalities. I just don’t understand why she stuck around trying to make it work when he’s acted checked out for so long (besides the kids. they both seem really into being good parents).

Hi people, lemme just say, I have been a devoted fan on Naomi’s ever since Mulholland Drive. I once ran a fan site of hers and still post about her and follow many sites on her (I check on them daily; please don’t call me obsessed but you can, sigh…)
What I want to say is, I have been having a bad feeling about their relationship lately. I was an avid fan of Naomi’s even before she knew/dated Heath Ledger. I had a strong feeling when they broke up. I had a strong feeling when she got more involved with Liev, moved more to New York and I also knew she’d have children when she did. I know her MO, so to say.
For the past few years, every Jan they family goes back to Los Angeles for awhile. Her not accompanying him to the Golden Globes is fishy. There have been rumors before, but I have got a feeling this time. Trust me: when she was pregnant for the second time I knew. I thought, her photos are different, she’s not out as much. She’s probably preggers. And she was.
