Thank Amenaide and Catherine Brown for finding my Phone and wallet! Thanks Brown family for your decency. pic.twitter.com/CJfcZz5gfj

Mark Ruffalo is a New Yorker. He and his family have lived in NYC for years. I would imagine it was quite hectic in NYC from Friday through the weekend, as New York got hammered with the same Snowstorm Jonas that hit the mid-Atlantic (and yours truly). So in the chaos of the storm, somehow Ruffalo lost his wallet and phone. Somewhere in New York. It could have been bad! It could have been a stolen identity thing, it could have been a credit-card fraud thing, it could have been a hacked-phone thing. But at the end of the day, Ruffalo is a decent person and he attracts decency. Some small children found his phone and wallet and Ruffalo got everything back within hours. He tweeted about it when he realized everything was lost, and promised a reward and a signed photo. So that’s why he tweeted the above photo.
Mark Ruffalo was on the receiving end of a good deed in the middle of the blizzard, and he returned the favor.
SCENE: The Hulk actor lost his cellphone and wallet Saturday night in NYC, in the throes of the blizzard.
ENTER AMENAIDE AND CATHERINE: Two little girls walking home with their mom from the Shake Shack (delicious), when one of them saw something half-buried in the snow — Mark’s missing stuff. They checked his driver’s license, but didn’t recognize “Mark Ruffalo.”
PLOT TWIST: The phone was locked so there was no way to get the number, but someone texted and left their number on the screen. One call led to another and they got in touch with Mark’s publicist.
FEEL-GOOD MOMENT: Their dad, Peter Brown, tells us Mark dropped by to pick up his wallet and cellphone, and gave the girls $100 for their good deed. He also promised them a signed Hulk pic. The girls are going to spend the loot at a candy shop, stocking up on bubble gum and peanut butter M&M’s.
God, that’s so sweet. Of course Mark’s stuff was found by two of the most adorable children ever. And what kills me is that they’ve never heard of him! I guess they’re probably too young for The Avengers. He needs to do more kids’ movies, or more movies where he gets to hug children. Also: a reward of $100? Is that too much or too little?

For two young kids? $100 is bank.
Exactly! And if they’re splurging on candy, any more than that would require the dentist lol What a cute story.
Exactly its an age appropriate reward
The dog-colored blur is actually the best part of that whole thing.
(and seconding the “yum” to the shake shack.)
Thanks for telling me what that blur was, apparently the dog recognizes Mark and is super excited, lol.
🙂
Plenty of money for the kids, but he could do something more special for them imo–tickets to a special screening, intro to their favorite Avenger or something.
For a simple good deed? How about we just teach children that being decent is its own reward. A better lesson that won’t have them demanding a trophy just for showing up.
The have a treat and a great story to tell, that’s more than enough.
+1
THIS
exactly!!
More like, they didn’t even know him and he’s not doing kids’ movies so..
100 dollars seems like a good amount for two young kids.
100.00 is a lot of candy money. Like toss in on the bed and roll in the candy money.
Great teachable moment for those girls. If I were their dad I would let them spend a little of it and have them save the rest for a Rainey day. Ruffalo ,might in the future, send them some tickets.
I love Mark Ruffalo. He has such a kind face and seems like an incredible cuddle partner. So furry,so sweet <3
I also love that he could have sent someone to pick it up for him, but instead he came personally and took some cute photos with them. That alone would have been reward enough for me!
I’m thinking about the first time the girls see one of his movies. Won’t they be excited to see their new friend, that nice man who rewarded them for finding his things? This turned out wonderfully for all involved.
Knowing the time and hassle involved if fraud had occurred, I would have given each girl 100 out of sheer relief. Actually, I would have handed that amount to the parents.
Maybe he did offer more money and parents declined…as they should…and he gave $100 to the girls as a little thank you. I say little since $100 is nothing for him.
I’ve said it before, I truly admire this man. And his fluffy hair ;o). And these awesome kids have a great story they can repeat to their friends and the next generation after them. Kudos to all involved!
ETA: I just found out he grew up in Kenosha, WI. That’s not too far from where I was born and raised.
Lovely story!!!
I might’ve handed it to parents, but he’s a successful actor. $100 isn’t as much to them.
Everything about this is perfect. Including the dog blur.
Mark is 1 of those guys. Those ideal guys.
This means I have to watch 13 goin on 30 again.
Such a cute story. Glad it all worked out well, it’s such a huge pain when a wallet is really lost or stolen.
If I’d found a wallet and checked the license, I would have lost my sh!t if it had been Mark Ruffalo’s.
I think 100 for two young children is more than okay 🙂 aww what a sweet story!
100 is perfect. Very generous.
The girls were just on TMZ Live, they are donating the money to buy water.I assume water for Flint,Michigan.
Seriously? Their parents should raise all the kids! Lovely story all around.
really nice story, kids are so cute, the pic is even cuter!
I think it’s the right amount. Enough for some kids to have a day they’ll never forget, not enough for their skeevy uncle to swoop in and steal it for crack. Assuming they have a skeevy uncle; doesn’t everyone have one of those?
