Don’t talk smack about Mickey Rourke’s dog

untitled-1-905x1024

Mickey Rourke loves his dog. It’s the most endearing thing about him. It’s the result of Mickey being an otherwise tough guy combined with just how over-the-top his love for his dog is. It’s really endearing. But never forget that Mickey is still that tough guy. Which means of you talk smack about his dog, you’re gonna get it.

Mickey recently lost his beloved pup Loki. And it made headlines in the blogosphere, which really says something. How often do we report on the deaths of celebrity pets? He even wore a specially designed pendant with Loki’s picture in it to the Oscars.

Unfortunately, E! pundit Joel McHale made the mistake of trash talking Loki. And now Rourke is gunning for him.

Trash-talking The Wrestler star Mickey Rourke has threatened to serve up a beat down on U.S. TV pundit Joel McHale – after the E! presenter poked fun at the actor’s dead dog.

The movie star is still mourning the loss of his beloved chihuahua Loki, who died just before the Oscars in February, and he didn’t take kindly to McHale’s recent comments about the pooch.

On his show, The Soup, the funnyman said, “Many say it was a pretty gay friendly Oscars (and) we think it could have been even gay friendlier, here’s how… a tribute to Mickey Rourke’s chihuahua.”

But, at the premiere of his new film The Informers in Hollywood on Thursday, Rourke sent out a warning to McHale: “Who’s the guy who made fun of my dog…? Motherf—ker! Who’s that guy, Joel McHale? He’s gonna get a slap in the face… That ain’t right. If you see him, tell him he’s gonna get a slap in the face.

Something tells me, Mickey Rourke being how he is, that it’s going to be a lot more than a slap in the face. And Joel McHale doesn’t look like he’s the biggest guy. I’m guessing Mickey has a good 50 pounds on him, easy. This is going to be a serious beat down.

In all fairness, I think it’s unclear whether McHale was joking that gay people fancy Chihuahuas, or that Loki was gay. I could make an argument either way. But something tells me I’d end up being threatened by Mickey Rourke either way, so I’m going to steer clear.

Here’s Mickey with several of his dogs.

I wouldn’t talk smack about, in front of, around, or NEAR Mickey Rourke. Ever.

Loki was likened to being Mickey’s beloved child. Joel is crude & heartless.

Joel Mchale is lame. I dont think he’s funny. His jokes suck and he just doesn’t have that comedic style to him that the original talk soup guy had (whatever was his name?)
Anyway, you don’t mess with someone’s beloved pet especially when they have past. You just don’t cross that line sucker!

Joel McHale is the funniest guy on tv today. I just saw his stand up a week ago and it was hilarious. Do you really think Mickey Rourke is going to risk jail time to slap a grown man over a joke about a dog? Well there is that roid rage to think about. You people are easily whipped into a frenzy. I think it’s highly unlikely the two are ever going to cross paths anyway. Joel doesn’t hang out at a lot of bars.

@ Jules: do you know anything about Mickey Rourke’s history? I’m really asking.

Because maybe he’s mellowed out over the years, but in olden times, he was absolutely the kind of guy who would kick the crap out of someone and damn the consequences. Settling the score was all that mattered.

What a douche, can’t take a joke. Joel McHale is hilarious, but even if you don’t like his humor – the show is a spoof of everything, he’s lucky he’s relevant enough to even be mentioned.

I love Mickey so much. That actually pulled on my heart strings when he was distraught about Joel’s comment. He looked so deeply hurt. I love this man.

Joel, not everyone has a wife and kids. Loki was all this man had for years. Loki kept him alive. SOme people don’t understand the relationship you can have with a pet.
