Kanye West thinks Kimye is the most groundbreaking interracial couple ever

wenn23817394

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are currently in Havana, Cuba. Celebrities have been flocking to Cuba ever since Pres. Obama’s administration opened up travel and business interests – you can see a photo of Kim and Kanye in Havana here. I’ll admit, I would love to see Havana too. Anyway, there’s a lot of Kimye news this week, starting with this weird story about Kanye throwing a hissy fit about one of his security guards. Apparently, just before the Met Gala, Kanye fired security guard Steve Stanulis for basically being too friendly and chatty with Kim. You can read more about the incident here – I never would have thought that Kanye was the jealous type, the type to fire somebody for being friendly with his wife. But here we are.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Kanye sat down with Steve Harvey for Harvey’s radio show. Kanye said many, many words about Taylor Swift, Kim and more. Some highlights:

On MTV & his Taylor Swift stage-jacking moment: “As soon as Britney shaved her head and they saw the money going down, they had already marked what that award was gonna be that night. But they didn’t expect no activist that had just lost his momma a year [earlier] sitting there with a bottle of Hennessy. The only reason why I drank the Hennessy in the first place was because I said, ‘I’ma have to just get drunk to deal with all the lies I’m about to see.'”

Defending Kim, who is breaking boundaries: “I think the defense of my wife came from a number of layers and levels that didn’t have to just do with a rap community that was disrespecting her in a way because of things that they’ve seen or heard in the past. It’s also because she’s breaking boundaries on so many levels. She broke boundaries with fashion where designers weren’t trying to make clothes with women with shape, and now they’re all about embracing and empowering women, empowering women in a matriarch society where women can make money. Like when she said, ‘OK, my husband might have invested everything he had into fashion, everything he had into creativity for breaking boundaries, but I put the money in the account.’ All of those statements means that can’t nobody ever disrespect my wife, period.”

Redefining biracial couples: “You can’t get me an example of as popular of a mixed couple. And I got friends that have white wives, that have — before there was a Kimye, they’d go to the amusement park and people were talking down to them.”

He’s really sorry about name-checking Amber Rose’s son: “I really want to stress the amount of respect that I have for parents. There is no concept of anyone being able to own someone else’s child or that type of concept. So every day I feel more deeply, deeply, deeply apologetic about that concept, because I only want to put out positive, positive, positive concepts.”

[From Vulture, Us Weekly]

Kanye has talked before about how he thinks he and Kim are the most significant interracial couple in history. I mean… he’s a narcissist, so of course he thinks that. And while I don’t agree with how groundbreaking Kim is, I always sort of love the way Kanye defends her. I know, I know. But man, he really adores his wife. What I find most notable is that Kanye is STILL talking about Taylor Swift. Dude, please just… move on. At this point, Taylor isn’t even engaging with Kanye. When even Taylor knows it’s old news, it’s time for Yeezy to move on.

Also, these diamonds!!!

K, No That’s it, i’m Unsubscribing from Kanye Kardashian

    • AnnieRUOk says:

Right? And who the hell still listens to the great homophobe Steve Harvey?

      • Naya says:

Homophobe, misogynist, unfunny a**hole who keeps getting shows. I hear he draws a big Church crowd now that he claims to be tight with the Lord.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

        I thought he was dead.

      • Kitten says:

I too thought he passed away.

How the f*ck does Kim manage to make all those pretty diamonds look cheap as hell? She has a real talent there.

    • Nicole says:

I’ve been there can’t stand them

    • dana says:

lmao what did it. for me, its the contact lenses. I can’t even hear anything he says bc he’s asinine enough to wear those horrible contacts.

      • ladysussex says:

Yeah. As a blue-eyed person I’m outraged by the cultural appropriation. Jk.

      • Elizabeth says:

That’s true, Lady Sussex. Blue-eyed people are in the minority.

  2. HK9 says:

    Of course he does.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

      Of course he does.

    • kcarp says:

I didn’t even remember they are an interracial couple. I just see them as fame whores that’s it. nothing else.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I know. Never gave it a thought, but in his mind, people at Disneyland are now more respectful to interracial couples because of them. I mean, think about that. People who are mean to interracial couples most likely are not influenced by Kanye in a positive way. “Hey, I looked at Kimye and now I am racism free! Welcome, interracial couples! I embrace you. Sorry I called you names before. My bad.” Sure, Kanye.

      • GreenieWeenie says:

srsly, me too, I had to look again at the photo and realize, oh, I guess they are. Because look at them: they totally match.

      • Wren says:

Yeah that really didn’t occur to me either. I mean, yes, they are an interracial couple, but that fact is so far down on the list of how I see them that I completely forget about it.

But again, of course he sees himself that way, breaking barriers and paving the way for whatever it is he’s taken into his head to do.

  3. Monie says:

    Lol, okay weirdo!

  4. The Eternal Side-Eye says:

The more he talks about Taylor Swift the more he makes it clear he wants to have sex with her. Claiming he made her famous, the constant whining and name dropping.

He’s gunning for that vanilla bean smoothie and he doesn’t care who knows it.

As for the most infamous interracial couple or claiming people are NOW talking down less to those couples because of good ol Kimye? Man, kick rocks. Your perception world begins and ends with what you see reflected in the mirror and the more you speak the less I care.

    • holly hobby says:

OMG vanilla bean smoothie. You nailed that one!

    • Suzanne says:

LOL…LOVE THIS COMMENTARY. VANILLA BEAN SMOOTHIE. LOL

    • anon says:

Yeah after he makes her have plastic surgery, pump her lips and tan her skin, oh and don’t forget, change her whole clothing style , after that I can totally see him wanting to bone her.

    • JenniferJustice says:

So, I just happened to pop into Blind Gossip for a visit. there is a blind about someone taking their sister-in-law’s advice and having a last minute colon cleanse before the Met Gala. Everybody said it’s Kanye. Ya’all – I Googled “Did Kanye Poop His Pants?” and I cannot beleive all the photos and articles that came up. It’s him. It’s totally him. I can’t get it out of my head and….. I just ate a bean burrito. OMG. I’m frickin’ dying. somebody Google that and get back on here to discuss.
Holy Crap! And I mean Holy Crap!!

  5. Clucky says:

“I love me, I think I’m grand. When I’m with me, I hold my hand.”

    • Jwoolman says:

My mother used to say that! She said she had a friend in childhood who liked to chant it (back in the 1920s/1930s). So it goes way back. You’re the first person besides mom I’ve ever heard quote it. My mother’s version was just a little different:

      I love me,
      I think I’m grand.
When I go to the movies,
      I hold my hand.

And yes- I’ve thought of this myself when Kanye goes off!

  6. tracking says:

    Grossest, he meant grossest, right?

  7. anniefannie says:

I’m w/ Kaiser on this I think it’s sweet how he’s always defending his wife. His stock went way down when he married her and as much as he cares about image he’s still her knight.

    • anon says:

Don’t forget Beyonce. He always defends her too. I think if jay z wasn’t in the picture he would probably try to marry her.

    • Naya says:

I dont know if its all that sweet. For one thing, he is extremely fixated on the race thing and it always sounds like he thinks she stooped beneath her in marrying a black man.

      • Cran says:

What he calls love comes across as ownership to me. He looks as if he’s parading a show dog and I find it creepy.

      • JenniferJustice says:

What Cran says. Look at my Poodle. Look at my Poodle’s new hair cut. Look at my Poodle’s new outfit. Look at my Poodle’s butt – yeah, that’s MY poodle’s butt. Gross!

    • censored says:

Actually IMO he doesn’t seen to love Kim as a person , he refers to her more as a possession, an object a trophy that he has acquired that means that he has arrived or something else to him.
Sadly there are a lot (not all ) of black men who feel that way about their white wives

      • swak says:

There are a lot of men who feel about their wives. They’re called trophy wives for a reason.

    • Colette says:

Like calling his wife a Perfect Bitch?

  8. Taiss says:

Poor Kanye, you’re not even Kim’s most groundbreaking interracial relationship, that title goes to Ray J.

It’s time to forget about Taylor and that night.

  9. Saks says:

Ummm, has he never heard about Bowie and Iman? I’m so tired of Kanye…

I do think Britney’s public breakdown sort of changed the celebrities landscape. Personally, I think beyonce’s career wouldn’t be as huge as it is now if Britney hadn’t had the breakdown, as their fame wasn’t even comparable at the time and she cleverly took that niche.

    • mme says:

What you’re forgetting is that there was that Girl Group (Destiny’s Child) that Beyoncé was the lead singer of. She had lots of fans before going solo. Their sounds couldn’t be any more different.
I dunno a single person that went out there to buy Beyoncé’s music because Britney had a breakdown or dropped off. They don’t even make the same music. One actually have knees that work and can really sing. They’re also co-existing now and both successful
It’s almost like the people that say that Beyoncé wouldn’t be half as successful as she is now if Aaliyah were alive whole forgetting that Beyoncé was outselling Aaliyah as a group and even as a solo artist before that crash. Also Beyoncé is successful while Rihanna is successful too. They can all coexist

      • Saks says:

Maybe I didn’t explain myself correctly, of course beyonce would have been huge as a solo artist anyways, what I’m saying is that in my opinion she also filled the niche that the “princess of pop” left which was a big deal (pre 2007 Britney was one of the most famous people on the planet, she even was the most googled person of the whole 2000’s decade).

      • Pepper says:

They were all successful, but when Britney was on top, Beyonce was just lumped in with the Christina Aguilera’s and Pink’s and Jessica Simpsons. She wasn’t the Queen, she wasn’t the biggest pop star, she had that terrible acting career…her image was nothing like what it is now. If you’d have told people in 2006 that ten years into the future Beyonce’s solo career had failed and she was back touring with Destiny’s Child, that would not have been hard to believe.

I think Beyonce’s sudden rise from ‘pop star’ to ‘the pop star’ came a bit later though. Gaga filled the hole Britney left for a while. The cult of popularity around Beyonce really started building with Single Ladies, then later the pregnancy reveal. It wasn’t until about a year after that that people started acting like everything she touched was gold.

She has amazing marketing. Her sales are by far the lowest of all the big female pop stars (Rihanna, Gaga, Taylor, Adele, Katy), her side ventures aren’t great, she barely manages one big single an album (even when she was making radio friendly albums). Her tours do well, but not better than Taylor’s or Katy’s. I like her music well enough, but so much of her brand is hype. I’m not knocking her, it’s quite amazing that she’s managed to convince everyone she’s the biggest and best when the numbers just aren’t there.

    • tracking says:

Bowie and Iman, sigh. So beautiful. And infinitely more interesting than these two.

    • Artemis says:

Thank you for the most obvious example! The man recently passed away so can’t even think to understand why Kanye wouldn’t have known about one of the most cool and iconic couples in pop culture!? Not to mention: they were EQUALS and MATURE adults who settled down together after individually achieving major peaks and highlights in their successful careers. Kanye I understand but what, who and why is Kim compared to him and compared to other iconic couples?

      I’ll name a few Kanye:
high-profile married couples: Bowie and Iman, John and Yoko, Seal and Heidi. Mariah and Nick
Low-key but still significant: Idina and Taye, Ryan and Eva, Robert and FKA, Paula and Robin

Honourable mentions: Naomi and Adam Clayton and Naomi and Robert de Niro Brad and Sinitta (still awesome to this day!) and Brad and Thandie, Edward and Salma, Penelope and Tom

Each and everyone of these women are more interesting and skilled than Kanye’s wife and dated men who were equally skilled and significant. Kanye is delusional. And if Kim loses her looks, they will never have the bond that couples who age together have. Because there would be nothing left.

      • anon says:

        Well said

      • GreenieWeenie says:

Does interracial only apply to black and white? Because I was thinking John Legend and Chrissy Tiegen…idk if they’re popular in the sense of well-liked but she certainly draws a lot of attention. I mean, you could even put Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley on there. Oh, Jaden Smith also has a white girlfriend.

I don’t know why it blows Kanye’s mind so much to be in an interracial relationship. I honestly think it says more about him than whoever he’s with. Are there really people of our generation (so, I’d say…currently mid30s, tops?) who have only ever dated people of their same race? For wonky childhood upbringing reasons, I was way late to dating and didn’t date that many people before getting married and my dating history was in no way homogeneous. Is that even possible outside of rural areas?

      • Ayra. says:

GreenieWeenie, no it doesn’t only apply to black and white couples, an interracial couple is a couple where the two people are of different “races”, I don’t usually like to employ that word, but hopefully you get the point.

I do agree with what you said about Kanye, the way he talks about being in an interracial relationship does say something about him, almost as though he considers his relationship to be superior to others who aren’t in one. Then again, this is Kanye, so he probably believes it to really be the case.

      • K says:

Don’t forget George Lucas and his wife who is apparently some massively successful business woman in San Fran. Sorry I don’t know her name but talk about people of substance and accomplishment who are in interracial relationships and Kyme doesn’t come to mind.

      • Artemis says:

        @Greenieweenie:

No, that’s why I included some bomb ass Latinas 🙂
Selena and Bieber! Zoe and Bradley (Cooper)! Sofia and Joe!
Like the most iconic interracial in modern day couple was Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez (how could I forget). Now they had a true impact on pop culture like few before (not even Brangelina). Exploded right at a time where online gossip was just starting, set the whole celebrity name trend (Bennifer)…

Young stars do have it easier, nobody really batted an eye when Michelle Rodriguez and Cara got together. And that’s not because of Kimye!

Yeah John and Chrissy would definitely be among more high-profile couples due to Chrissy’s incessant use of social media 🙂

Madonna in her time dated loads of famous non-white men.

And I also agree that Kanye makes the relationship sound one-dimensional. It’s either about her looks or the fact that they are from different ‘races’. Like all the other couples just seem to love each other first and foremost. I’m sure race might sometimes be a talking point but all of these couples weren’t defined by it or didn’t defineit that way themselves. Kanye is all about defining his relationship with her as interracial and aesthetics. Same with Kim, she said she liked the ‘look’ of white and black people together. It sounds wrong and no other famous interracial couple has spoken about their respective partners like that! Again, it’s a case of a lack of maturity imo.

      • KWM says:

Showing my age here but don’t forget Tyne Daly and Georg Brown, they married in 1966 a year before the Supreme Court Decision that made interracial marriage legal in all 50 states. I clearly remember watching Cagney & Lacey with my mom and she would say how Lacey was married to a black guy.

Growing up in a small town with only white people I remember thinking wow you can do that! Gave me a whole new appreciation for Denzel Washington on St. Elsewhere.

  10. UCatwoman says:

Um, I don’t think those are diamonds. I think some of Yeezy’s pretty sparkles from his jacket fell off onto her hand.

  11. AnnieRUOk says:

I’m so serious, what does he mean?
” ‘OK, my husband might have invested everything he had into fashion, everything he had into creativity for breaking boundaries, but I put the money in the account.’ All of those statements means that can’t nobody ever disrespect my wife, period.”

So now that his wife pays the bills, now he has respect for her??
    I’m so confused

  12. claire says:

Oh lord. Kanye thinks racism has stopped because he married this idiot? I can’t even. And second of all, just like Kylie’s dumbass didn’t invent wearing wigs, Kim’s wide ass didn’t invent the plus-size clothing industry. And I don’t think anyone is hardly designing for her at all – if they were, then why is she having to get all her clothes tailored and/or squeezing into everything 5 sizes too small?

Kanye: go on meds and go away. Please.

    • WTW says:

@Claire: Yes, apparently racism died when Kimye happened. I wish someone would tell that to my in-laws who I still have tension with five years after I (a black woman) married their white son, against their objections simply because I was black. His statement is an insult to all of the IR couples who face bigotry now and did historically. Even the fictional IR couple in the Old Navy ad just faced a backlash and I still haven’t forgotten the uproar over the Cheerios IR couple. For the most part, Kimye is celebrated because they’re rich and famous, and they’re not comparable to everyday IR couples.

      • The Original Mia says:

Kanye & Kim are accepted because they are celebs, but real life couples still face scrutiny and commentary. Even Jack McCain, John McCain’s son, faced racists remarks for celebrating his marriage. Racism didn’t disappear the moment Obama came to office or when Kanye married Kim. Only a narcissistic twit like Kanye would think so.

      • Naya says:

Racists aside, I dont even get why he thinks his relationship is groundbreaking. Black man with white woman is common enough, our president is the product of such a union from fifty years ago. Every third black athlete is with a white woman, big deal. Its the white man/black woman version that still carries a weird taboo. But Kanye also thinks he invented sneakers so cant take him too seriously.

      • Artemis says:

Well he’s clearly forgetting that Kim ‘wrote’ an essay on how having North made her eyes open up about racism (as in: oh my gosh, it exists?!). She was the subject of racist remarks according to her so I have no clue what he’s on about when even Kim is clued in more at this point. Which isn’t saying much!

        @Naya:

Yup. White women with black men is much more accepted and seen then white men with black women. There is enough data collected from dating sites that basically says most men of any race want a young woman and they prefer anything but black women. It’s scarily consistent over the years or gets worse for black women. It’s sad to think about it.

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

        @Artemis
Oh my God! My mom was just talking about that to me! She follows some sort of a page/site for black women, and dating………..on FB……….and they had an article with the producers from that reality show…..the one where people don’t meet their husband/wife until the day they get married. And they asked them why there weren’t very many/hardly any black couples…….and the producers said basically because all of the black men they interview want anyone other than black women, and all the black women want black men. As my mom says–for any black woman wanting a black man–good fucking luck!

And that is why I am half white. My mom went into the Navy at 18, and had never looked at anyone other than a black man. But they didn’t want her. In fact, they were willing to treat her like a dirty little secret, or just have sex with her, but when it came time for the stuff that they did as boyfriend girlfriend (like when they were on shore, on fridays, they would go out as colleagues/friends with their boyfriends/girlfriends), they said “don’t look at me”.

And where we live now–my mom goes to college with majority white, maybe 30 black guys who go there………..and maybe 4 of them acknowledge her. The rest turn their heads when they see her coming. It’s ridiculous.

      • Artemis says:

        @Virgilia

Oh wow…the black woman is truly made to feel invisible. But I do ‘love’ it how we as black woman are both supposed to shut up and be nice lest we are deemed angry and at the same time hold ‘our’ men up. Who’s holding us up (I’m biracial too)? This is why we are strong, because we have no other choice.

And as someone who usually likes Asian or white men, I have had crushes on many black men while growing up and as an adult and all of the times, they didn’t want me. They don’t have to of course, I can deal but the girls they do like…let’s just say they are far removed from the black woman. I did always wonder why white women are SO desired and viewed as THE standard. They’re just people!

I actually find Latino men the most open and fluid about who they are attracted to but maybe that’s just being ‘lucky’ with the areas that I’m in and the friends I have. They are in my experience, very warm, sweet and chatty so it’s easy to develop relationships (as friends) that can progress into romance.

      • Virgilia Coriolanus says:

        @Artemis
Yep. And I even see it with my black male cousins. They date whoever they want, but talk shit about us if we do the same.

      • anon says:

Status that comes with privilege that is a result of power.
        Simple as that.
There is a lot of policing when it comes to women’s choices in general but also if you look at the power structures you will see why certain pairings are not promoted as often as other. Asian woman/white man couples are much more common but rarely shown in the media.

      • Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

If Naya hadn’t said it first, I would’ve said it myself.

  13. ItDoesntReallyMatter says:

Oh right, they are an interracial couple. Honestly, does anyone even notice these things anymore? I remember back when I was a kid in the 70’s in a small town we noticed. But these day interracial couples are completely mainstream.

Sorry Krazy Kenya, you and Kim would be groundbreaking 40-30 years ago, now you are just a normal boring couple. 😉

    • WTW says:

@ItDoesntReallyMatter Of course, people notice these things. As long as racism exists, IR couples will face some amount of bigotry. Do people come up to my husband and me on the street and spit at us or call us names? No. But people show their discomfort/disapproval in subtle ways. And my conservative, white Arizona in-laws tried to do everything in their power to prevent me (black) from marrying their son. They wanted to throw a 30th B-day for my now husband but not invite me. They forbade their daughter from allowing my husband (when we were still dating) to include me as a plus-one at her wedding because I’m black. They said they wouldn’t pay for her wedding if I was invited. Sister-in-law has never apologized for going along with this and behaves as if she did nothing wrong and I should like her. In-laws eventually (grudgingly) apologized after their extended family called them to task for their behavior and I made it clear I wanted nothing to do with them and wouldn’t play the role of Sidney Poitier in “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” trying to win their approval. Anyway, I still dread every time I have to see them and now hate the holidays since I have to interact with them and they’ve never truly acknowledged all the pain they put my husband and me through. They plan to vote for Trump, feel sorry for police in light of the Black Lives Matter movement, support bigot Sheriff Joe Arpaio, etc.

    • lisa2 says:

Read the comment above from MTW

Even in 2016 people notice. And sadly I feel we are going backwards. Donald Trump is not going to help matters.

    • Jay (the Canadian one) says:

Take a look at the outrage over Old Navy’s interracial ad and tell me it doesn’t matter anymore. Still there is no way KimYe is groundbreaking because there are so many better examples that came before (see elsewhere in the comments for a full list).

  14. Joh says:

I thought Richard and Mildred Loving were the most groundbreaking couple!
Kim and this guy? All sizzle , no steak……….

    • Izzy says:

THIS is exactly what I came here to say. Kimye as a couple are able to be a couple and not worried about being arrested for it, because of the Lovings. So STFU, you big-boy-wannabe.

    • CarolinaBelle says:

This! Guess he has never heard of Loving v Virginia…

    • Rhiley says:

Just saw this after I had referenced down thread. So true.

  15. SJO says:

He always looks like he’s sniffed a big poo

    • Izzy says:

Well, if you believe the rumors flying around now, he may have sniffed his own poo, which he sharted right there on the red carpet…

      • Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

NOT on purpose, but I saw a close-up picture of his pants on the red carpet when looking at something that wasn’t even about them or the Gala, so I don’t know why it was there, but… it’s no rumour.

  16. censored says:

Kanye wants to be white .I have been saying this for years much to the dismay of many on Kanye Island. Its just a matter of time before the plastic surgery, skin bleaching , more weird contact lens ala Lil Kim , MJ, Sammy Sosa
He will probably just defend it as ” art “

  17. prissa says:

So ridiculous. There aren’t enough words to express the level of delusion with this guy.

He really adores her? Yeah right. He adores the concept of her, not her as a person.

    • Jwoolman says:

Yes, he treats her like property. She lets him dress her in those godawful clothes and doesn’t expect him to spend much time with her, and in return he pulls strings to get her covers and invites to places like the Met Ball. He shows no genuine passion or love for her in public, the little tell-tale gestures are missing. He doesn’t even show her the courtesies that men usually show their first-time dates.

And he seems fixated on other people disrespecting his wife, when he’s the worst offender. Listen to his lyrics referencing her – they are atrocious and humiliating.

He is also obsessed with the fact that they are an “interracial couple”. Darlin’, you are Kim’s third black husband and one of many black boyfriends (she really wanted to marry Reggie, and one of the others helped her start her climb to fame via a sex tape with him). Your “interracial relationship” isn’t even special to your wife, much less the rest of the world. You didn’t invent it.

  18. The Original Mia says:

Show me a designer that is creating clothes with Kim’s awkward proportions in mind. Crickets. Everything she wears has to be cut down, sized up to fit her. There isn’t a line out there for her. Not even Yeezy’s line is for her or he’d have her on the runway with those pencil thin waifs.

As for Kimye breaking the interracial mold and making it acceptable. Puhleeze. Pull your head out of your own a$$, Kanye. You’re the 4th high profile black man she’s been involved/married to. Have a seat and clear the cobwebs from your brain!

  19. K says:

    So many thoughts.

    1. What does Britney’s breakdown have to do with his behaving like an ass to Taylor and Beyoncé?
    2. IT IS AN MTV AWARD; it has zero meaning or value winning or losing it had no impact on Taylor or Beyoncé’s career. Kayne is just thirsty now like his wife.

    3. There are no words for how stupid this man is regarding the interracial dating/marriage. seriously kick rocks- Kayne. Interracial marriages were the fastest growing type of marriage according to the last census and it has NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU!!

    • Jwoolman says:

He keeps changing his story about why he interfered with Taylor’s acceptance of the award. On his mother-in-law’s mercifully short-lived talk show, he admitted he was drunk and acting like a jerk. Now he’s claiming he was drinking just to fortify himself against all the “lies” that would be told and is back to his original delusion that his drunken jerk actions were noble and justifiable.

  20. kri says:

I think he and Madonna need to collaborate. It would be a match made in hell. He’s insane, Kim is a joke, and together they are clowns, not pioneers.

  21. wrinkled says:

Why does he feel so strongly about Taylor that he’s still going after her??

    • anon says:

Eh to be fair the whole country went after him and it almost destroyed his career. Taylor on the other hand got a big career boost out of it. Kanye was the big bad wolf to Taylors precious innocent lamb. He seems resentful and a part of me can’t really blame him.

      • FingerBinger says:

Kanye didn’t give her career a boost. Why do people keep saying that? Taylor had the highest selling album in the country that year. It didnt come close to destroying his career. If it did it could have been avoided if he’d kept his drunk behind in his seat.

      • K says:

No sorry I’m not a Taylor fan but bull on the career boost bull! He did not she was on the rise Kayne didn’t do anything.

And people reacted because he humiliated two women, was drunk acted like an ass and can’t just go look I was drunk and acted like an ass. He still changes the story, he belittles Taylor and her accomplishments and won’t let it go.

      • swak says:

Only Kanye is responsible for destroying his career – no one else. He needs to let go of the incident.

  22. Magnoliarose says:

I think as far as groundbreaking interracial couples I’d think Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton. Sammy Davis Jr and his wife. Lena Horne and Sidney Lumet. Diana Ross and her husbands. Alice Walker and her ex. Gloria Vanderbilt and Bobby Short. Iman and David. Deniro and his wives. Tyne Daly and her husband. I mean for real Kanye? Those people did it when that was hard and risky. Shut up blue eyes.

I too would love to go to Cuba. I hope to some day.

  23. pk says:

He defends Kim because it bugs him that people think so low of his “trophy”
It is odd how obsessed he is with Taylor.

  24. lisa2 says:

Now we are going to be hearing how the Kardashians and Kanye are ruling Cuba. that they were the first big names to go there. That they put Cuba back on the map.

This is going to be the worse.

  25. Jayna says:

I’m not touched by Kanye’s love for Kim in interviews. It’s always about her being some big icon and changing the world and not getting enough accolades, not getting on the Hollywood Walk of Fame or whatever it is. He treats her like his precious doll, an object, that he changes to his aesthetic, i.e., her wardrobe, the serious faces for her pap walks, on and on.

He never talks about his wife in a way of how she came into his life and showed him what real love was, who is kind and considerate and is his best friend, etc. etc. Nope, none of that. All about the public Kim, his trophy.

    • Tara says:

I know. It’s all about her fame. That’s what he likes about her. An icon for what? He compares her to Marilyn Monroe, but Marilyn actually did something. It’s all about this delusional sense of fame. He’s always saying he is Steve Jobs. Everything with his wife has to do with her fame. Lol.

    • caitlinK says:

Exactly. He has never *once* said anything to suggest that he cares at all about Kim beyond her surface appearance, and the status he apparently feels she gives him. “Adores” her? Sorry, not in the least. Adoring someone is loving a whole person, not just the package that the person comes in. When Kim’s looks go, Kayne’s “love” for his little trophy wife will flee, as well. It really is sad–or would be if I didn’t dislike both of these pathological narcissists so strongly.

  26. Rhiley says:

Mildred and Richard Loving or Kim and Kanye… hmmmmm. *scratches head*

  27. Jayna says:

VMAs are nothing, not prestigious as far as the award. It’s a video music award, and the best rarely get picked or nominated because they aren’t hip enough or have a hit, even if the video is music video art.

He carries on like it was the Oscars. LOL

  28. NeNe says:

Oh, the crackhead has spoken…. Everybody shush up and listen. NOT!!!!

i hate to bring up those who have passed, but I have no doubt that his mother is turning in her grave for all of his moronic antics, and for marrying that filthy wh*re!!!

  29. Jayna says:

Seal and Heidi were massive as far as high profile. They were everywhere and were the glamorous “it” couple for years.

Iman and David back in all of the ’90’s and early to mid 2000s were very high profile and a stunning “it” couple on the red carpets, and their love for one another just exuded from them. Their love was a beautiful thing.

    And there’s plenty others.

He is delusional. He and Kim are budget and aren’t groundbreaking in an interracial relationship that changed how the average interracial couple is treated.

    • Snowflake says:

Yes!!!! Kimeye are not a groundbreaking interracial couple. Robert Deniro is married to a black woman. Plenty of interracial couples more groundbreaking than them.

  30. Bluey says:

Oh here he goes again…. he is so delusional. He needs his brain checked ASAP!

  31. ReineDidon says:

I think even Kim doesn’t understand why Kanye is with her. It is not for her personality, it is for the idea of her and what it could give him to be with the daughter of late Robert Kardashian.
Also, I liked him with the contacts 🙊

    • anon says:

It’s for status. Take away the status and privilege that comes with it and what do you have left. It not for the aesthetic that’s obvious with the multiple plastic surgeries she’s had and her tanning obsession and him changing her whole wardrobe. I feel sorry for her because he isn’t with her for her but lik you said, the idea of her and her wp that he foolishly thinks will rub off on him.

  32. meme says:

such a special snowflake, that kanye. such delusions of grandeur.

  33. Jh says:

It kills me that he refers to himself and Kim as Kimye. No chill. No cred.

  34. Snowflake says:

Kimeye needs a reality check. Come live a normal person’s life for one day. They are the most self absorbed, conceited couple. They are perfect for each other. And they are so spoiled. The amount of money they waste on stuff is just tacky. They think they are so great. I bet there’s all kinds of old money people who can’t stand them. Kimeye has no class. Noveau riche? New money and they act like it. Ya know what I’m saying?

  35. Tara says:

They were only drawn to each other for their fame. Kim was floundering after the sham of a marriage fell apart. Kanye was a life raft for her. Kanye think because she’s famous she’s groundbreaking. J. lo made curves IN before Kim K.

    • Jwoolman says:

I think you’re putting the cart before the horse. My guess is that Kanye said too bad you’re married, since I’m single now we could get together. That’s when Kim ran off fast to file for divorce, she saw the chance for an upgrade. . She didn’t discuss it with her husband. I strongly suspect she didn’t talk to her mother about it, either. Demon Mother probably would have told her not to do it, wait a year until we get some cash from reruns of the wedding, people won’t react well to such a rush to divorce. Kris Humphries was just a handy way to have a splashy wedding, but Kanye could help her get places she wanted to be.

  36. Tala D says:

Pretty sure he meant patriarchal society when he said matriarch society loool

  37. Who ARE these people? says:

Yeah, yeah, it’s “Guess Who’s Coming to the Met Gala?” all over again.

  38. Frosty says:

I have to admit these two crazy kids have won me over. I love them as a couple. And note the legalistic way he put it: He doesn’t say most important – he knows better – instead he says “most popular,” which, ok.

  39. me says:

A ski trip, Iceland, and now Cuba all within a month or so. How does the E channel afford to send them on all these vacations?

    • swak says:

It’s a business expense for E! They are filming all of it. I find it interesting that all of a sudden Kanye is okay with North being filmed for the show.

      • me says:

Yeah I know it’s being filmed for their show. This family never actually pays for their own vacations lol. Just surprised that E is able to get so many companies willing to foot the bill just for some free publicity. Do the people watching KUWTK pay attention to the name of the airline they use or hotel? Probably not.

  40. kay says:

sh;ut down gitmo. end the blockade.
this hasn’t happened, so i cannot figure out WHY castro is allowing the u.s.a into cuba.

as for kimye: blah blah blah, rinse and repeat. ad infinity.

    • Starkiller says:

No one is “letting the USA in”. The same visa restrictions that were always in effect remain so. Cuba will not be suddenly overrun with Americans. Don’t panic.

      • Jwoolman says:

The hangup on Americans traveling to Cuba has always been on the U.S. government side. A friend organized study trips to Cuba and it was always a nightmare wondering if the US authorities would come through soon enough, there were so many twists and turns to navigate. The Cubans were easy, and happy to have Americans visit to see things for themselves. People from other countries have been routinely vacationing in Cuba for many years (such as Canadians). Castro was not the problem. He wanted to normalize relations with the United States right away and I doubt he would have gotten more extreme if that had happened. This is a common pattern, our government needs to lighten up and stop pushing people toward harder lines. The problem was always Washington, DC. People who had ties to the former dictator or just had done fine under the old regime had trouble adjusting to the revolution. Same thing happened with us after our Revolutionary War- there was a wave of emigration to Canada and back to England by people who did not approve of the Revolution and were loyal to the King. It was estimated that only a third of our population backed the Revolution and another third was against it.

  41. Sanity says:

Commenting on a blog like this only gets these DUMB CELEBRITIES PAID $$$. If no one who read this wrote a comment, posted it to FB or tweeted about it, etc, then the website, Talk Show (like Steve Harvey’s) or magazine, would see that the public has no interest in this B.S. and would no longer keep PAYING these celebrities who bring up unintelligent, obviously outrageous statements so they can make money from it. I have no idea why Kimye are celebs! Except for the fact that they can get people to talk about them, write on blogs about them, and follow them on Twitter. They make these outrageous statements just to get on the cover of a magazine, website article, or on a talk show (like Steve Harvey’s) otherwise they would just disappear from the public eye. So, when you see an article about something this stupid, PLEASE don’t comment. If there is an article that you see about something worthwhile to this world, that would do good for the world, then comment on that! Maybe then humans will evolve and race will stop being such an issue, and we won’t have race thrown in our face every day, or some other issue that we have made it through. Just THINK before you COMMENT!

  42. halley says:

He is seriously delusional, I have been in a “interracial” (hate that term) relationship for over 20 years and no one ever talked down to us from day one. And we live in the south lol.

  43. iheartgossip says:

Perhaps they should check-in with my parents. So there’s that…..Kaney is more delusional then the family he married.

  44. Tiffany :) says:

So he didn’t say “groundbreaking”. Good. Because otherwise I was going to tell him to sit down and read about Loving v. Virginia. THAT was a groundbreaking interracial couple that had to fight for their relationship all the way to the Supreme Court! They actually changed our world and our country for the better.

  45. rudy says:

Maybe, just maybe, Kanye ADORES her.
But the relationship is all about business and a LIE.
They do not have a life together.
I am so tired of celebrities thinking we are all idiots.

  46. The most groundbreaking interracial couple in entertainment, IMHO, was Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez. For more reasons than one.

    • anon says:

      Was he mestizo?

    • Aubrey says:

      yes!

    • Jwoolman says:

The odd thing about Kanye’s “interracial couple” obsession is that in the United States, Kim could pass for black at least among whites who casually saw her with a black husband or child. She’s not a blue eyed blonde or pale red head, she’s half Armenian and still looks it enough. It is so unlikely that her reports of racism directed against her and Nori are true, partly for this reason (she would not be automatically perceived as white) and partly because they match real incidents she could have read about but absolutely no one among the many witnesses mentioned it anywhere on the net. Not a peep (or tweet) out of them. How likely is that today? There were no media reports either. Kim does this routinely, appropriating other people’s stories as her own.

  47. Sansa says:

Kayne’s major point : ‘ Kimeye ‘ are ground breaking partners and equals in an artistic and business partnership and that also, according to him, makes them unique as a bi-racial couple. Everything is about perception and Kim and Kayne are passionate about fashion they take risks and I am giving them a hand for playing the game.

  48. Charlotte says:

A jackass and a jacked up ass. This is a match made in heaven.

  49. mazzie says:

Oh Jeez Kanye, come to Trinidad. 20% of the population is mixed race. Some families for more than 100 years..

  50. Nik says:

The only thing relevant about Kanye now is poopy pants. I thought booty fingers was #1 but this.

  51. Goodnight says:

It seriously never even occurred to me that they were an interracial couple. It has to be about the least notable thing about their entire relationship.

  52. amused says:

You regular readers/commenter are so bizarre. Kanye isn’t really talking about Taylor Swift, he’s talking about the situation that led to him getting up on stage that night. He spoke truth as well. Some of you are so quick to slam people on here for apparently being ‘racist’ but a guy gets up and speaks out against racism and he’s labelled a crazy narcissist. I’m not saying I think he’s the most humble, down to earth guy but I respect him for daring to call the industry out on its bullshit and for his great music.

  53. Aubrey says:

I can see him firing a person for being friendly, he did take over her twitter to say that the suggestion to buy a dress is comparable to fishing on Ashley Madison . Her cognitive dissonance must be intense.

  54. what's inside says:

I think he is delusional and needs to up his meds.

  55. Emily C. says:

So is Kanye more obsessed with Taylor Swift or with Amber Rose? I feel it’s a toss-up.

He’s creepy and terrible about women, of course he’s a jealous control freak.

  56. Myst says:

He’s her Liberace and she’s his disco ball.
